Lumedoll Mature Mini discussion Part 1

I have never seen these before but they are absolutely gorgeous! I love the shapes of their eyes. There are some truly beautiful pictures here. Makes me want to do a photo shoot.

 

Resurrecting this thread! I just acquired three little bits of amazing, Diego (Rischa), Carrick (Tyl) and Alyxiel (Rana)! :3 They are all blank at the moment, awaiting either my days off for me to paint them or for me to find some cash and send them to someone who actually has talent, haha. Their wigs though, should be in tomorrow! I am pretty excited about my three sweet ones, so I wanted to share that excitement with some other owners! I'll post pictures of the brats in their wigs soon.

Question; has anyone ordered Nine9 Style pants for their boys yet? I'm thinking of doing so. Apparently, the Nine9 ladies pants fit great, but the boys have a big of height to them... Hm...! What are you all doing for pants?

Hi everyone! I think I'm the one re-ressurrecting this thread again! Just joined! :}

I ordered my Lumedoll Rischa today and I need to know what clothes would fit this guy.
Eva from Lumedoll said he wears most BJD clothes in the mini size range, but he is so skinny in comparison pics with other MSDs.
What about shoes?
I also ordered Monique wigs from their Gold Collection, size 4-5 as she suggested.
Any help is much appreciated!

 

Common T-shirts are OK. For the pants I used some "cheap jeans" from Alice Collections that are very small and fit him very well.

@Apokripha Thank you!!! Yeah I totally forgot about AC jeans! I got some for my 70cm skinny boys in the past, the fit is great! Maybe they have shoes for this size too. Gotta have a look! Thanks!

 

Is it just me, or there's not many MSD Lumedolls around? I have seen some on Flickr and dA that are the same for sale here on marketplace.
Also customlovers and violetemoon's (on female body) on Flickr and another one that was awesome but sold . So, very few of this mold and this thread seems to be quiet.

My "Rischa" should arrive to me hopefully next week. I'm buying some things for him from AC tonight.

Glad to see some life in this thread! I am still very exciting for my brats, haha. All three of them are with the faceup artist at the moment, so no pictures quite yet. I have wigs for them, Monique doll wigs in. My wigs are actually size 5-6 and they fit great. Let me know how your 4-5 fits, Looloo!

I have some homemade pants for them that I need to try on my boys. My Rana is wearing pants from SMP, but really I think they'd be a little too short on the boys. I really want to put in a Nine9Style order and see how those work on the boys, too.

As for shoes, I've spoken to Eva and she generally gets shoes for the brats from:

The shoes from the second link she said are a bit tight, they have a hard time fitting over the boys heels, but they do work.

Syndal_lynn oh wow thanks for the shoes links!! Coincidently I have a package arriving today from paul zhangby ( the second link) but its for 1/6 action figures. And I recommend that seller! I just didn't know he had 1/4 too! I liked the middle calf boots, but I'm afraid I'm gonna have hard time putting them on since you said they are tight fit at the ankles. They are in my cart now! LOL

I have jeans and stuff in my Alice's Collection's cart too.

About Monique wigs I actually ordered 2 from their Gold line, one brown 4-5 and one nearly black 5-6... but they'll take weeks to arrive to me so I think I'm gonna have to make him something temporary while we wait.

Hopefully he's gonna be here in like 3 or 4 business days maximum.

 

Looloo, of course ! Glad to know more people have ordered from him, too! I am probably going to buy shoes from there as I feel they are the best looking/ most realistic looking. My dolls are all adults and the kid-like shoes from a lot of the other sellers really puts me off. I want to find a nice pair of converse that don't look like they belong on a toddler. XD lol! In regards to fit, I may just sand my boys ankles a bit and see what that does. They will be barefoot probably never. But, we'll see how tight a fit they really are. :3

Syndal_lynn yes, sometimes is hard to find shoes that look good. I really liked those mid-calf boots from eBay but the inner lenght is the exact meassurement of the foot, so I imagine its gonna be a pain to put on. Sanding might be the solution!!

I first thought he was blank because of the description but then after ordered I noticed the last Rischa in stock has a face up. but I will redo him anyway!

Hervoyl, are those dollmore vans that I spy on Atik's feet? How do they fit? My boys could use some shoes like that! lol

I think I have some shoes for tonner male dolls and they fit (but I think I use them on my girls, LOL).

 

They are, good eye! They fit fairly well - they're a little bit too big, but not by much.

My Rischa arrived a couple of weeks ago, I did his face up and a sweater for him, out of old leggings LOL ... still, waiting for his jeans from AC.

My Rischa is with me for over a year now and I still haven't done a proper shoot with him.
Also my Rana still has just the two outfits I've made for her so far. Shame on me shame on me.
I'm trying to pick up my love for the bjd hobby again.
I even ordered a new doll.. Wich I'm really excited about.
I'll try to post some links for shoes for the lumedoll girls here aswell.
I've got my Rana some real nice ones that fit perfectly! (I hope I can find back where I got them from since it is such a long time ago that I bought them for her)

The jeans I ordered for my Rischa (from Alice's Collections) arrived some time ago and they look great! No, he's still nameless... Its so strange, I dont know WHY I cant find him a name. I'm searching since he arrived... Its ridiculous!
He is wearing a Monique Wig (Golden line), the fibers are very thin, looks and feels like real hair!
He is beautiful and so photogenic! Thank you!

 

I'm bringing this thread back from oblivion to say that I've just ordered a Meissa boy in peach skin. Now to start looking for wigs and clothing. At least shoes should be easy to find; he seems to have a relatively normal sized foot.

Is anyone else taking advantage of this order period?

 

Hey, I've seen a few people ask this already, but it doesn't look like there's been any responses addressing it. What are the neck measurements for these minis?
I absolutely adore the sculpts and Kwan is almost perfect for one of my characters, but the minis are unfortunately too short. Compared with the other characters I'm shelling (who I've found perfect dolls for so I can't really shuffle things around there) I need to get my guy somewhere in the low 50cm range? Between 50 and 55, he can't be any taller than 60cm at the max, and any lower than 50 will end up looking off unfortunately. As such im considering hybriding a Kwan head into the souldoll Vito male body (literally the only male body I've found in the height range im looking for, why must my entire doll shopping experience be absurdly difficult?) but I'm having a very hard time determining if it's doable at all, in measurements or proportions.
If possible can someone grab a mini neck measurement for me? It would help a ton. And it would be absolutely amazing if someone just so happened to have a mini and a souldoll Vito so I could get some comparative pictures to see if the proportions can be managed.

@fairithilien I notice the neck measurement question has been asked several times already--and never got an answer. I have a Lume guy ordered at end of February, but heaven knows when he will arrive. I also have a Vito guy on order since early February. I can take photos/measurements when they arrive if no one has coughed up the information by then.

 

Have you reached out to the artist? I've worked with her a couple times and was responsive and super to work with...

Wish I could help otherwise but I only own her discontinued 1/6 line.

 

That would be absolutely amazing! I won't be able to get this doll put together for a long time but having the comparison would be incredibly helpful to my planning! Thank you! I hope your dolls get to you swiftly and safely.

 

I haven't yet, I prefer to get my questions answered by owners before I approach the artists, and since there's a thread about the mature minis I thought this would be the place to ask it.

 

@fairithilien Totally makes sense...thank goodness for the threads! I'm the same way.... Just thought I'd add my own experience with Eva as an option. I know how it is to have a bit of info lingering that seems to get over looked in slower threads. Kwan is wonderful, so I'm sure someone will pipe up soon enough.

 

Which portion of the neck to you want measured - the circumference of the thinnest or thickest point? I should be able to measure mine tonight.

By a very strange coincidence, my Lumedoll Meissa (male) shipped today. Estimated arrival date is Monday the 18th. Hoping for good weather next week so I can do his face-up.

 

Still no sign of my Vito but my Lumedoll Meissa elf is here. I didn't measure inside the neck hole while I had him apart, but the outside neck measurement where his head sits is roughly 8cm. There doesn't seem to be much room for modding inside the head. You can see the fit from the profile shot below. (I have another photo of the inside of the head, but I'll have to post it later. We're only allowed one photo per post.) The Lumedoll face is almost flat. There is so little room inside the head that the S-hook is placed sideways. The rest of the head cavity is filled by the tail ends of elastic. Judging by how it fits its own body, a Lumedoll head is going to look extremely small on top of a Vito body.

 

Darn. Oh well. It was worth a shot. Id still love to see the hybrid picture when you're Vito gets here if you're still willing. Thank you so much! Congrats on your awesome new doll! Lumedoll are all really gorgeous.

 

Just for grins, here is the inside of the Lumedoll head. I pulled out the coiled elastic to see how things were arranged in there.

The hole the elastic passes through is very small. I've never seen a bjd with the S-hook in sideways before.

I'll try the head on my Vito when he comes.

 

Here is my male Meissa with a face-up. I'm not 100% in love with it, so he'll probably get a do-over one of these days. He's wearing clothing by Iplehouse for JID boys. The waist is too big, but I was able to tighten the laces on the sides so at least his pants don't fall down. I must have loosened him when I removed his head for painting, because now he won't stand without a doll stand.

 

Revitalizing the thread as I am not only getting a Lumedoll MSD Tyl, but also a Lumedoll Vega. So big and small guys. I have been reading the entire thread to see about clothes for the Tyl, I already have a small guy, Bishonen House Steve so will try his clothes on Tyl to see what works and what doesn't. I found great ankle boots and long high top riding boots on Facets by Marcia. So if they fit the Lumedoll guy, will order more. Should be quite the difference between the two.

 

Editing this as I sold one of my guys. ( 3/8/2017 ) I am now down to 3 with another guy arriving end of this month I am hoping. I will try and not delete photos in future that I had posted in a thread.

I ended up painting my guy myself. Now that he finally has an elf wig and outfit, he's looking much better. I'll be interested to hear what you've found to fit yours. I ended up sewing for my guy. His body was bigger than I thought it was, even though the head is small. I need to take new photos, which I hope to do at tomorrow's meet-up.

 

My daughter in law is doing face up. She is redmaiko here on DOA. I will share all information when I post new photos.

 

Can I ask where you found his shoes? I am having a hard time finding shoes that will not look huge on my Tyl guy.

 

He's borrowing them from my Iplehouse JID boys. The shoes are on the large size, so he needs socks with them. (JID boy feet measure 6.5cm, while LumeDoll boy feet are 5.8cm.) I currently have him in a pair of Dollmore boots for MSD. They are also big, even though the Dollmore Kid foot is only 2cm bigger than his.

He looks great, almost like LOTR Legolas.

@animemom - I followed your link. Is Rana the new girl? The first one I saw pictured was a boy. Rana is one of the sculpts I like a lot. Will you paint her yourself or send her out? Can't wait to see her finished.

To share a photo on Photobucket, all you have to do is select it so it displays on the screen, then look to the right where it says "Share This Photo". There are 4 options. I click on "Direct" and wait until the box turns yellow and I see the word "Copied". I paste that link into a file on my computer and save it so I can retrieve it at any time. When I am ready to show it on DoA, I just copy my link, then click on the photo image in the menu bar here and paste my link, click on insert and it appears in my message.

Are you paying Photobucket to use it without seeing the ads? I've been sorely tempted, but if the site works no better after you throw money at it I won't bother.

 

I got confused it's Flickr I pay for not Photobucket. I know how to load photos from photobucket here, but it won't even let me load new photos, let alone grab old ones. It keeps asking me to log in. Anyway Yes Rana as a girl is my new girl. DIL will do her face up as well. Still need to find her wig color as well as find perfect wig. It's hard to get an idea on wig looks until they arrive. Boys are easy, short and one color. Done, girls do you wnat it short, long, curly, pig tails? The list can go on and on. I think I have color, now just need to find her style. Wish more people shared photos on the girls on Flickr. But to many are the old SD ones Eva made.

Finally I figured away around glitch.

 

She is easier to find clothes for then the boys.

 

@animemom - She's very pretty. Does she come with flat feet only, or both flat and heel feet? The boots you have on her look like a very good fit. I don't suppose they fit the boys, do they?

 

She comes with only flat feet, but who knows, Eva may opt to do high heeled feet one day. I haven't tried the boots on Haku as of yet. But can tonight and share a photo if they do fit.

As you can see, I got photobucket to work. Now just hope I can recall how I did that.

 

OK I tried but those boots won't fit him. I created a special album of what fits these guys and where to find them. I am getting another pair of boots as well as I ordered stuff from Wicked Stitchery so the album will be updated from time to time. Thanks for the album. That will help, especially if I get around to ordering a girl. I notice the order period opened October 1st. I wonder how long it will go on? She doesn't give much information on her website and I'm not on facebook.

 

Actually no more order periods. You just send a message through her website what you want, skin tone, and what kind of layaway you need. She'll respond and let you know what will work. Orders take 8-10 weeks, if you want her to do face up she would say how much longer then it will take. She responds pretty quick through website, but being Thanksgiving, she might not reply until Saturday.

That's great news! Thanks! I do eventually want to add a Lumedoll girl to my group. I'm not in the market immediately because I want to buy a couple of guys from the Iplehouse FID line this holiday season. They're shrinking two of my grail dolls to fashion size, so everyone else gets bumped down the list.

Makes sense. I for one never thought I would get into this size as such small features and such, but after getting Eddie and now seeing for myself these Lumedolls I wished I had gone in sooner. The features are so well done, as well as fact they stand nice and solid. I hope once they are all here and done can get some group photos.
