When LoongSoul released ZhuZhao's promo pics, my jaw dropped. While I've been adoring LS's offerings for years, this was the first time a sculpt of theirs made such a "GET ME YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO" impression on me. The reason? His features are a good blend of my two primary dolls, Adhara (more evident in her dormant form) and Guórén. Their daughter, Kokiden, is already well-known among local community friends, but I've been refraining from shelling out her younger fraternal twin brother, Kokichi, until LS released ZhuZhao. And yes, you read that right, YOUNGER. It's a long story why she's an MSD and I chose a 70+cm as her little brother. ^_^ Anyhow, I apologize for the few pics! I got so preoccupied putting on his hands without any extra assistance from others, I was practically drained afterwards. 01 - Unboxing Prelude by Yela Gatchalian-David, on Flickr 02 - Loong Soul by Yela Gatchalian-David, on Flickr 03 - Papers by Yela Gatchalian-David, on Flickr I was quite shocked at how pale LoongSoul's Yellow is. You can already see how his color is a waaaaaay closer match to my Iplehouse Violet (in White resin) than either of my preexisting SD+ sizes. Nonetheless, my references weren't kidding about LoongSoul's poseability. With the default stringing, he's the best poser of all the dolls I currently own. My Impldolls could replicate his posing capacity for the most part, but only after a change of stringing method. (Don't ask about my Iple JID.) There are already other threads on the matter, if you want more in-depth demonstrations. Not seen: extra special "parts", if you know what I mean. Husband had a grand time placing them in strategic places among my other dolls, though. 04 - Put on Pants by Yela Gatchalian-David, on Flickr How does he look blank? When side by side with my Iplehouse Violet, he does look a tad more youthful than his promo pics. However, that may just be a matter of styling and lack of faceup. They still look like brother and sister though, and that's what matters! He's wearing small-iris 12mm eyes here, by the way. There's a teeny bit of gapping, but it's good enough for me, especially if in tandem with white putty. (The 14mm ones LS sent with him had HUGE irises and looked awful on him.) If you are interested to find out how I intend for him to look, a mockup of him is in the bottom right of this family tree. 05 - Brother and Sister 1 by Yela Gatchalian-David, on Flickr 06 - Brother and Sister 2 by Yela Gatchalian-David, on Flickr Over-all, LoongSoul's lanky aesthetic takes some getting used to (as you may have noticed from my other dolls). His dad (who is on the beefier-looking Impldoll Idolman FGB) could share clothes with him, but the fit is too baggy for my liking. I'd definitely have to tailor new clothes for him. But I'm still determined to bring the best out of this lovely boy. For starters, I'm going to give him the same ventilated wig treatment as his mother. That means at least three months before I could send him off to my favorite faceup artist, but that's what we do for our resin children! Definitely tho, someone is happy that there's a new empty box (large enough to stretch inside, to boot!) in the apartment: 07 - Unboxing Kitty by Yela Gatchalian-David, on Flickr
Congratz! Cat is amazing, dolls are amazing... You have to put all your love in your hobby! Ps. fantastic famiiy tree !
Had to laugh at the typical cat behavior and that chesire grin on it's face. Lovely doll, can't wait to see him when he is done. Nice family tree.
He definitely looks like one of the family already. ^_^ Congrats and good luck with your handsome new guy!
He's lovely!! Can definitely see the resemblance, he's perfect for this family, appearance wise~! Can't wait to see him completed!! Also, I get the feeling that the cat is the one that is the most happy about the new arrival hehehe~! XD
I feel bad for not having updated this considering that the guy finally is "complete" (meaning, with faceup, wig, and eyes -- even if clothes are still borrowed) after several long months. So, this is how he looks now: Go Strategy Planning 03 by Yela Gatchalian-David, on Flickr And an awkward family photo with his dad: Two Kinds of Lions by Yela Gatchalian-David, on Flickr
