I have had the love-at-first-sight with several dolls, although I seem to really bad for dolls I did not like at first.
I had this situation with Doll-Chateau sculpts, because they made me feel kinda strange and I did not know why... it took me some time to get their beauty (At the beginning, I even skipped the Doll-Chateau-Sections on dealer-websites, cause "noooooo").
Another sculpt that got to me also wasn't love at first sight... it seems certain dolls keep on circling in my head and images keep popping up now and then until one day I know "Geeez, yes! I want this doll so bad!"
I am a weird person, I guess.

 

It’s just happened to me I’ve fallen head over heels for Xaga doll Zoe... I don’t own any SD’s and have never planned to, but now my heart is so torn!

I just had this experience the other day, I've been looking for girl sculpts with defined cheekbones and pretty sallow cheeks for a specific character of mine and I finally found the perfect head. A Supiadoll Muriel, she's absolutely perfect and even comes with elf ears

 

Once, Dollzone gray is the love of my life and he is my first doll too!

 

My first love-at-first-sight was Maskcat Doll Frances, but she is too big for me. Second time it was Natalia Loseva's Zaya, but at USD 1500 for a blank she costs way too much for me. Third time was Miadoll's Soo - finally I was able to get Soo. Soo totally derailed me into YOSDs.

It was for my first BJD, I already collect Pullip for one year (maybe more than one year) and at that time I took a look on some BJDs but they did not interest me. However in 2014, when I saw for the first time the KDF Corni on Luts I fell in love immediately

For sure. I loved Fairyland’s Lucywen on sight and I wish I had found her sooner! The other was a chrobi SD boy that I saw several years ago. I haven’t seen him since and I’d probably have to do a bit of research to find him again but maybe one day...

VOLKS F-01 (particularly Megu) was totally love at first sight for me. Specifically it was someone's YoSD Nana back in 2008 but their username escapes me at the moment.
It took a long time before I finally got one but now I have 4 with plans for a few more so clearly that love hasn't faded a bit. There are lots of dolls that I see and would like to have someday (such as DDdy Sasara) but F-01 has been the only one so far that has actually made me buy.

 

Yes! I've been wanting a fairyland minifee Chloe now. Still trying to save up so I can purchase her in one go.

My tiny, excited, baldy fae child Ruthie. I was watching dolls go by while my friend scrolled bjd pictures, and every Pongpong would make high pitched noises come out of me. I couldn't decide between pukipuki and pukifee, but then a second (fourth) hand pukipuki came up on FB needing a home and new adventures. Pictures of both sizes still make me smile real big and laugh, and Ruthie still makes me squee usually.

I also love Lishe faces. I narrowed it to Littlefee Lishe, but found a tan El first and adore them to pieces. There will definitely be another El or 5 someday.

I'm trying to decide if my current Ooh Pretty! of MYOU Junyao is another one or just a pretty. It's hard when there's so few user pictures.

 

dollmore kid renee! he was my first doll. most dolls i regard as pretty and nice but rarely am i like, wholly compelled to have them--the renee sculpt was different, i was truly swayed and ended up saving up for him ^^ i acquired two other dolls secondhand but i don't feel the same way about them and i probably won't be buying many dolls in the future even though i'm back in the hobby, bc i'd rather buy a select two or three that i feel very strongly about than many dolls who i think are alright.

that being said, i found a new love in ringdoll Cyanopathy Faust, and i hope to start saving for him soon .... he gave me the same excited rush as dollmore renee did years ago!

 

I fell in love with 5StarDoll's Elaine the instant I saw her.
I was actually looking on DenverDoll's website and stumbled upon them saying they had just an unpainted head of her in white, and when I saw the official photos, I was lovestruck.
I went to the official 5StarDoll site to look over her full body and the very next week when I got paid, I ordered her.
She hasn't even gotten here yet and she's inspired a story and a beautiful character that I already have the wig, eyes an a lot of clothes for, as well as ideas for clothes I want to make for her.
I'm incredibly excited about her!

 

There are a few dolls that I fell in love with immediately or just couldn't stop thinking about!

The first doll I really really wanted immediately was Volks Yugiri. I saw her with customized make up by another owner... And just died for her. Now I prefer other dolls but I still love Yugiri and I would love to have her one day. Such an unique sculpt.

 

I fell in love with Dollzone's general aesthetic right away, but I pitter-pattered a bit before deciding on their Leon. I had a hell of a time choosing between him and Ivan (I guess I really liked that steampunk aesthetic :P) but in the end I liked Leon's blank sculpt more. The eye bags sold me.

 

Doll Chateau's Xaviera! Some one I used to be friends with introduced me to DC a few years back and when I saw her I was absolutely in love, but I could never afford her back before she was discontinued. I finally have the money and found some one selling one on fb and was finally able to snag her!

 

I immediately fell in love with Fairyland's new Rens. At first I figured it'd be a while before I could afford her, but when I saw Denver Dolls' recent free-shipping-on-in-stock-dolls sale, I took the plunge and jumped on one of their in stock full packages (just int time to order a Halloween event head too!). Now I just have to pay of the credit card...

I also fell in love with their Minifee Chloe when she first cam out, but it took years before I was finally able to get her.

 

Fell in love with Supia Rosy. Now I finally am getting one! So excited.

 

I just saw Juliet from Daydream today and ahhhhh I want her/him!!!!!!! But I already told myself I'll never get more than two dolls of the same size... maybe one day when I have more money I will either get a Prince Body or Little Prince Body Juliet!

I keep falling in love with each BJDs I see, but I feel I truly fell in love with 2D Dolls' Cream. He is just...so cute and truly my ideal face sculpt. He isn't in my price range, but he is truly a dream doll I wish I'd have...

 

The Doll Zone 56cm body was instant love for me! i know i just have to save up for her, shes by far the prettiest sculpt ive seen and suits my dolls personality perfectly!

 

Love at first sight is the main reason for me to buy a doll. I rarely buy those who I didn't want to get that very moment I saw them. Usually it is sudden love that grows larger and larger.

 

Love at first sight was what got me into this hobby.
I don't remember how I stumbled into Ringdoll's page and I liked their dolls,
so I would check it from time to time.
That was when I saw him, "K",
sadly, I was late three years haha.
He was beautiful and I searched him up on tumblr and instagram and he was as beautiful as he looked in the Ringdoll page.
I searched him up to buy him but I couldn't find him anywhere until around a month ago and I knew it was now or never, so I bought him.
Currently, I'm waiting for him to get home and I'm super excited .

 

Absolutely! As soon as I saw the 2 I have I knew I was going to get them. Both my dollzone scorpio and Doll Chateau Charon I would go and look at them everyday until I had enough money to get them

 

It's not quite like love at first sight but it's my fastest buying decision ever...

I was looking around a second hand shop to find a doll who would suit for my project that time. Actually I aready have some choices that I marked them last time and just come again to re-think about it.

(Let's see... I'm not one with fast decision... some of my friend even make their choice slower thanme though)

And I found "Him" at that second hand shop. Not in a very good condition. Just... Acceptable but with a good price I think. He's not in my previous choices... not even close actually (only the size is correct) ... But yes something tell me that it's shall be him, and yep I took him home lol.

It took me less than 30 minutes to decide.

This doll is still with me, and I think he will at least untill I crease this hobby.

 

Switch Seowo in Mocha Brown! He is still the single most incredible BJD I've ever laid eyes on and he /will/ be mine one day, mark my words haha. La Legende De Temps Roderich was also an instant attraction but not quite as strong as Seowo, and he, too, shall be mine one day

 

Yes, I do tend to "fall" for my dolls. I know right away if I want the doll. I might not purchase her right away because I don't have the funds but I will know how I feel about her.

 

Yes and no. I liked Gen X Nile when I saw his sculpt, but I knew he was "the one" as soon as I had him in my hands. I bonded instantly. Now I feel intensely guilty about his lack of body.

 

I love all my dolls and chose most of them for good reasons. But if I had to say love at first sight, it'd probably be SOOM Volo. I just saw that pouty little face and pointy ears, plus wings, and fell right in love. There's a reason that my Aidrian is one of my absolute favorites.

 

Quite a few times. Sometimes I have to really look around before I settle, but there are some that speak to me immediately, like KDF Darae. I've always thought Darae was an adorable sculpt, and she's even more stunning in Luts' tan resin. Supia Hamin is another one I was immediately drawn to.

 

It was love at first sigt for me with Luts' Bliss sculpt. I just love him SO much! I got back into the hobby after a few years recently and one of the first thigs I saw was that hes available in msd size now so I actually have space for him
. So I'm currently saving up for him!

After not being around for a while. I just spotted a Luts Flora and I absolutely adore her. I'm gonna wait till current events to settle before putting an order in though~ I really love her.

 

I have so many "The One" dolls in my collection that I have conceded to myself that it's more aptly "The One of the Month."

 

Hmm my very first that was the reason I fell in love with BJD was Soom the Wolf Knight. I really wanted him and after months I was finally lucky and got him. Unfortunately even the seller who didn't unpack all the armour didn't know that one armor part was missing and instead of back and front chestplate I had two backs. Soom wasn't supportive in the matter... But I was still happy to get him. Later on I managed to find another really awesome set of armour and replaced it.

Similar it was with another doll I really set my mind on and got him later on.
I guess it really depends but if then I prefer to buy it asap having to have patience isn't great when I want something.
Also usually if I think about it too long it's gone by the time I made up my mind

 

My latest doll is Doll Leaves Berg. I can't remember how I came across him. I hadn't heard of the company prior to finding him, but when I saw him, I had to have him. He's beautiful, but he does have a very long pointy nose which I hadn't noticed in his photos. I tend towards dolls that I think will fit size wise with what I have already. He fitted the bill. I couldn't believe his price so snapped him up.

I'm still very much a novice and I don't think that's going to change any time soon. There is just so much to get your head around in this hobby.

 

The moment I saw PlumeDoll’s Luna, I knew I had to have her. It was intense - I love my other dolls, but it wasn’t the same with her. It was like a total grail doll experience, except over the course of about two minutes for a doll I could actually afford.

My other dolls, I saw them, I wanted them, I checked the budget, I found room, I bought them. And I love all of them, too!

 

Always... but if I don't want to pay for him/her it's a sign that it won't be a longterm love...

It is the Dollshe Bermann for me. The original version of him. I still remember the doll that made me fall in love with him all those years ago More recently, there's only been one other doll that has affected me the same way and it's the LLT Ballerino Roderich

 

With some dolls I have this 'Love at first sight' feeling. For exampe these are DollZone Hong and Angell Studio Qingyi.
I don't own them, but maybe someday... They are definitely on my wish list.

Dollzone Carter: The first doll I ordered. It was those sharp little teeth! OMG, I had to have this doll so badly!

Dollzone Yo-Carter: The winking one. I saw a bid go up for the head on eBay, I had to have it at all cost! I put my limit really high, at the last minute, I am watching people start the bidding fight, but they didn't reach my limit. That one was mine! His body is currently on order from Dollzone.

Dollzone Grey: The funny thing is, I had saved up my money to get a Crobi Lance. I was already to get him too, but then I saw Dollzone Grey, and all my former plans went out the window. I bought him immediately. I have never regretted that decision.

Little Monica Irin: I went to the Little Monica Website, and they have these stories there. The second I saw the little maid Irin I had to have her. I fell in love with the story and the doll.

Ringdoll MoYu: This one just hit me, slammed into me full force. I saw him instock and couldn't hesitate, he is just so beautiful! He is in the mail to me now and I am super excited for him to get here. I am not sure what it was about him, but I couldn't see myself not getting him.

These were the had to have it dolls. The rest of them, I kind of debated over. A few of them I just kept going back to look at, and looked at them so many times I eventually bought them. Sometimes, I have an idea in mind, and I will go looking for something to fit the idea and then if I think the doll will fit the idea I am looking for I will get the doll. A few dolls, I just knew that I was eventually going to get them, but I didn't have to have them right away, and I didn't slightly obsess over them like the top ones on the list.

 

I have suddenly come across the new light tan Supia dolls and have fallen in love with the Juah sculpt. I think my wallet is getting nervous.

 

My love at first sight dolls are Dream Valley Vine, and 2D Doll Light. Both of which should be making their way home around fall/winter!

Recently I've also been eyeing Charm Doll Circe, and Ring Doll Rinku, but my wallet is keeping me from making any rushed decisions.

When I first startet with the doll hobby 3 years ago, I didn’t even know bjds existed. By chance I saw the homepage of Fairyland and was quite impressed with the cute dolls but also quite intimidated with the possibilities of change such a doll represents. So I concentrated on vinyl dolls but kept going back to the Fairyland homepage. And then I saw Pukifee Jude and was in love. She’s home with me since December and a sister is coming this year. I'm still a little bit scared when I handle her, she’s so tiny and flexible, but oh so cute.

 

I usually wait a while before deciding to order a doll, and take time to make sure I'll still love them as much as when I first saw them later down the line. However, as soon as I saw Augus from Doll Leaves I knew I had to get him! He was quickly bumped up to the first on my wishlist and I ordered him very shortly after discovering him ^^"
