Resin Comparison Loongsoul Resin And Size Comparisons

my vaccation starts today so I should be able to fix this pretty soon so just answer this and I will see it.
I think the Loongsoul resin can be a bit lighter than Volks, which is yellowish and Loongsoul is quite pale. But I will do a comparision and not just speculate

I have a Loongsoul Pink skin from 2010 and two Volks normals (2005 and 2011), and they definitely don't match - they're very different colours.

I used to have an LS normal yellow head, and I feel like it was a bit lighter than Volks normal, but since I sold the head a couple of months ago unfortunately I can't confirm that one way or the other (but hopefully Skogstoka can).

 

Thank you for the insight regardless! Even if we can't confirm yet if LS normal yellow matches Volks normal, it's still good to know what doesn't match!

Any way. I did the comparision now, an I guess Volks normal and Loongsouls normal yellow is a pretty good match, I wouldn't have guessed!The picture is taken in indoor in natural daylight

Hi there! I'm hoping to hybrid a Supia head with a Loongsoul body for my next doll, and while the proportions seem to match up well, and the hybrid has turned out well for other people, I'm not sure about the resin match. Does anyone have pictures of the Loongsoul imported tan compared to the Supia original tan? Thanks!

 

This is a bit of a long shot, but I'm wondering if anyone has a loongsoul 45 cm body and a little monica MSD head they would be willing to show together. I love the loongsoul posing and the LM Demetri sculpt, but I don't know if they would work at all. (The measurements are off but proportions look doable.) I've had trouble finding resin matches too, so anything matching the loongsoul resins well, especially LM would be appreciated. (I'm more particular about body, so any loongsoul hybrids would be interesting to see)
Head would be LM normal skin, body in LS pink or yellow depending on what works better.
(I have checked the body comparison and resin match threads, didn't find what I needed)

 

I have two loongsoul girl bodies, the new MSD and the original and a little monica girl I could put together to see for you?
I should also be able to check resin match but I can tell you straight away the pink does not match, Little Monica is much more of a yellow normal. The Loongsoul normal is probably a do-able match, the Little Monica seems a little darker still, but it is possible my girl's headcap has yellowed a bit.

Just dropping in with a Loongsoul/Immortality of Soul head-swap. I was very adamant about shelling a character on an Immortality of Soul 80cm body. I heard that the resin match was dead on. I personally can't tell the colors apart. Great head/neck fits for these particular heads. The height is the same with the two bodies as well. Without blushing or face-up, I noticed that Loongsoul resin is shinier. Sorry for the yellow background - this was more of a box-opening photo, but it does show a bit of difference in how the resins reflect light differently. IOS seems to have more of an egg-shell like sheen, appearing a bit whiter in some lighting. Amusing how the two dolls look like they're two different colors in this photo, but match their own respective bodies too... Looking at the bodies, I felt like it was a good rough idea of the difference you may see between these two resins.

I have a Loongsoul Xuanbing in Normal pink skin made in 2014 on a Resinsoul body in pink skin made in 2015. They match perfect!

So I have been searching for Loongsoul's resin colors. I thought they'd be on their website/or have a picture somewhere on Alice's collection, but I am just having the hardest time finding it!
I hope I'm not missing it somewhere (but I've been looking for it for like 30 minutes now)
If somebody can direct me to the right place it would be great

@hsifalissa Well, I can't actually find any color chart which seems to show all the current available color options either.

But I found this image that shows bodies in white, pink and yellow.
On the LoongSoul main site I found this post which compares some of the colors to other companies as well.
And this is their announcement about introducing French resin as another option. That's why you see two sets of color choices. I believe the "imported" colors are semi-transparent and the other colors more opaque.

I have a LoongSoul french resin girl at home. She's aging very well with almost no color change over time.

 

Did you look at Mint on Card? They usually post pictures of resin colors.

Hi there! I was looking for a height comparison between a LS Elegance dolls and LS Bloom dolls, but I don't seem to find any :S. I know it's difficult to have all males and females together, but if any of you have some comparisons it would be very helpful.

Also, I'm thinking of getting my Iplehouse eid girl a new body, and LS elegance looks incredible. The resin match is not a problem because I recently got an airbrush and I could fix it. What I don't know is if the neck and head will fit. The size of the head is the same, but the Iplehouse neck is 10.5cm and the elegance body is 9cm. Do you think the difference is too big? I've never made a hybrid before, so I'm a bit lost with this ^^` Thanks for keeping this active, LS dolls are so amazing!

Hi @Naisha Sorry it took me so long to reply! I didn't notice it until I was looking for some answers for resin (still! LOL).
The doll is Bimong Narae60, the head is a Dandelion head (also made by Bimong) and she in in Light Tan skin.

 

Based on the post here by @fourmist I took the leap and ordered a WS LS body for my 2016 DF-A WS head. I'm in love with the body and have no regrets, but for me, it's not a resin match and it's noticeable. I'm not sure which white resin fourmist ordered, but I'm pretty sure I ordered urethane.
I have no other dolls, so sometimes I look at the body and wonder if it is really cast in white or if there was a mistake. Can anyone help me out and confirm anything?

 

Yep, that's white skin. WS varies from one company to the other; sometimes it's pinky, sometimes it's creamy, and sometimes it's a paper-white. I'm sorry you're disappointed, but you probably won't notice too much when you get her face-upped. Talk to your faceup artist when you
get it done.

 

At least it looks like the head is lighter than the body. A good faceup can definitely fix that.

Can anyone provide a comparison between Iplehouse NS and LS WS and/or LS Normal Yellow?

 

I'm sorry yours does not match as mine did I don't think mine is urethane resin so that maybe explains the difference. Or, since mine was an in stock practice head, it may have been slightly yellow and I didn't notice? I agree with others who have said you could adjust the Faceup to make it match better. For what it's worth, I think the proportions are great!

This is my loongsoul head n.yellow skin (left) and Dyuke head normal skin (right). The LM head is from batch august 2014 and my loongsoul is from batch june 2017.


This is dyuke head in my loongsoul body.


LM skin is much yellower than loongsoul. I don't think it will be a good match.

 

Anyone have or able to do any good comparison shots between Volks WS and Loongsoul WS (non French)? I'd really appreciate it.

Loongsoul n.pink is really pink. The one who had it said that it look more like bubblegum pink.

I ordered Venitu in Fresh, from what it looks like Loongsoul's WS may be a good match, but I know I'd definitely like a comparison!!

(May just end up biting the bulley and ordering some hands from LS anyways... I've got an eye jar, may as well start a hand jar!!)

 

I was going to order 2x Loongsoul bodies in white skin for 2 of my floating heads... but after having read this thread I get confused about the resin colour.. So LS white skin has PINK undertones- is that correct eh?

 

Anyone know if it's a good match for Fairyland? Specifically which skintone may be best for a 10 year old yellowed white skin.

 

@Lotte Rotten Yes, it has a peachy pink undertone - you can definitely tell when the parts are reflecting light off of each other, it is a pink hue.

I was photographing body comparisons between my WS Loongsoul body and my WS DF-A body and when they're next to each other it's very obvious that the LS white skin is pink undertone while DF-A is yellow undertone.

I have a Doll Family H LinFeng in normal pink skin...everything was fine until i found a piece of the arm broken..now i could fix it and i probably will but i had the intention of buy another body for him (one that can pose XD), i wanted a loongsoul male body but i can't decide about the skin, a normal pink skin looks a bit too pink and i don't know if the normal yellow skin could be the right one. Could somebody help me? the head is not yellowed at all so...any ideas?

 

Hey, I actually have some of these! A Qing Lang head in pink skin, from 2016, and Loongsoul in yellow, from 2017.
So, I've taken some fresh photos for the comparison.

The DF-H pink skin is definitely pinker than Loongsoul's normal yellow. Lighting can make a difference though; the resin match looks closer in normal, yellow-y household fluorescent lighting than more natural/white lighting, which is how I have photographed the comparison. I don't know if the Loongsoul pink skin would be better, or if it is indeed too pink for DF-H.

Also, I went ahead and took some hybrid pictures of the head on the 62cm v2 body. (Though not a LinFeng, I imagine the Qing Lang should be pretty close in size to LinFeng. Also note that I have both the body and head blushed.)

I was surprised how well the fit of the head is on the body! I haven't put Qing Lang on the Loongsoul body before.

Probably the yellow skin is too yellow for his face but a nice face up i think could minimize the difference. The pink skin of Ls is definitely too pink, it's even pinker than the pink DFH . Thank you so much for the pictures!

To whoever may be interested, I took a photo showing the rather close (but not 100%) match of LS Imported Normal Yellow to Iplehouse White. LS is still slightly pinker irl, but nothing some blushing won't fix.

hello, I have a question. i took a picture of my boys and i noticed that they have different skin color. i thought they are both normal yellow. my boy pictured on the right side is normal yellow bease on the COA. but on the left side, can u help me what color? since it's a hybrid (freedom teller head on a loong soul body). unfortunately i dont have a coa of the loong soul body on the right side.

 

@Ifiamondy That is because the body on the one on the left is. french resin, over the past year or so Loongsoul has exclusively released only in french/imported resin. Unfortunately, I've not heard them having any interest on bringing solid resin back.

 

Ahhh I loved their solid resin. That makes me wonder too, are they still a match with their sister company Charmdoll? I never knew if the imported resin or the solid resin was what matched Charmdoll's resin...

 

anyone have tried matching dika doll white head to loong soul white body?

 

Anyone know if LS imported white will work with Fairyland white / Souldoll old white? I really want a LS MSD body for my Minifee and Souldoll head but hate the limited posing ability compared to LS.

Edit: non-import is a great match for Fairyland beautiful white /Souldoll old white. Imported is too translucent but can work with blushing.

I'm crossposting this from the jointed hands guide thread. Here's my LS ZhuZhao (B-B73-02 body, Imported Normal Yellow from late 2019) wearing a pair of 1/3 Male jointed hands from DF-H (a mellowed Normal Pink from early 2017). Resin match is really good, although the DF-H appears a slight shade yellower irl. Proportion-wise the hands are a bit small-ish, but forgivable if the head is one of the newer, smaller releases.

Would anyone happen to know if LS Normal Yellow matches with either April Story Normal Skin or Migidoll "Meringue Beige" (Normal)? I'm hoping to purchase jointed hands from LS but can't seem to find any resin matches for these specific brands and tones (I've seen some about WS but not the Normal tones). Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!

 

To those who are curious about how the current LS releases fare against more petite sculpts, here's a photo. The guy on the left is a Granado Michael, who is already on the small end of the 70cm scale (to give a gist, he's wearing 10mm eyes). ZhuZhao, on the right, is slightly bigger. The cam angle makes him look smaller, but the fact that they could be photographed together and not look too out-of-scale with each other is saying something. IIRC, majority of the now-discontinued older LS sculpts had bigger noggins.
