Did everyone see that legend doll has six re-released sculpts for sale?

I'd seen Fairy Deer before but couldn't figure out what sculpt she was since she wasn't on their website anymore. Nice to see her again and have a name to the face! The sculpts they re-released look really nice.

I wonder what kind of faceups you'd get if you went with the non-official ones they're offering.

 

After a verrrryyyy long wait (three more weeks and it would’ve been a full year since I ordered ) I finally received my human Tao Tie! I haven’t seen any owner pictures of his human sculpt yet so I wanted to share.

I got him in wheat brown with the official face-up. His clothes have sooooo many bits and pieces and confusing belts. It took me forever to get him dressed …. Then I immediately undressed him to try on the beast version’s outfit

 

Oooh he looks so cool! and the details in those outfits! The furs look like real pelts!

 

The beast version was definitely worth it, though. Very handsome

 

He's so coo, nice to see one finally around! And the wheat brown skin is gorgeous.

Loongsoul clothes have so many details that take time to get right (I wish that some belts and accessories of theirs came with instructions on how to put them on), but the result is always so impressive.

 

Hi! Has anybody ordered their strong 75cm body before? I'm currently looking into buying it but a bit worried for the clothes I can buy for this size.

 

Pretty sure that body was introduced fairly recently, like within the last 6 months (or so?) so I doubt anyone's received one yet

 

This year felt so long I didn't realize that. Hahaha! I wanted to see how that body holds up to their old 73cm (since with heighteners, it's almost 75 as well).

 

I also come after waiting for almost a year to bring a pic of my Shi Lu Shen Jun.
I honestly was ready to give up hope on receiving her and would have settled for a refund when I got a shipping note.
They included the outfit and a wig as an apology and she even had a body blushing (I only ordered her with face-up).

I originally had other plans, but she just looks so amazing that I'll keep her like this.
The details are amazing, as always. For example the fan is embroidered and so is the necklace (the square thingy)!
Took me about an hour to get her dressed while panicking and looking up pics and I'm glad it suits her so well. (I'd love to say I'll never change her again, but... I know myself.)

@TheGardenGnome lol let me first say I love your nick XD Any yes, I agree. I mean, I wouldn't have minded waiting a year if it had been communicated from the start, like it was with the golden one that was a cooperation with a video game, so yeah this was unexpected long and hard. But worth it ^^ And I love her size! I got her on the 62 body, so she's my tallest SD girl :3

Do you mind if I ask if you ordered from LS directly or through a dealer? I had no idea to expect that long of a wait either, I figured it’d be 6-8 months

 

@TheGardenGnome I don't mind at all. I ordered via jeeryama/newclover-singing.com/Christina and except for that one coop I mentioned my LS dolls usually only took 4-6 months, as I had been let know - even with face-up (which I ordered only once).

 

@Snowy thats very interesting! I ordered through BJDivas, which, hindsight, has a much longer wait time than other dealers (though when I ordered I didn’t know that )

newclover-singing has been my trusted dealer since I got into the hobby around 12 years ago and I had mostly good experiences - especially in terms of shipping speed, so I never tried any others. Got lucky from the start.

 

Hi, would anyone be so kind as to post or link me to to pictures (either blank or with a faceup) of their Cang Jue or 28 Lunar Mansions-Leopard Ji Shui Bao heads? Trying to decide between these two sculpts for a doll and would like to see some owner pictures!

I just saw Alice's Collection announce the discontinuation event. It's such short notice D: I might have to rearrange some plans and order a Fusang because I've been eyeing her for a while. Shame that it seems like her official face-up isn't available anymore. I wonder what the reason behind it is.

It's also a shame to see the moon fairies and Jiao Mu Jiao getting discontinued since I really liked those sculpts.

 

I'm sad about Jiao Mu Jiao! I really love him and think he's adorable, but don't have a character for him so he's on my "maybe someday" list, but I guess that's not likely to happen now :/ i don't think I've ever seen any pop up second hand, and I can't justify the expense right now

 

Right? Jiao Mu Jiao is my favorite and I'm glad I already have him (three different versions ^^°) but still so sad u.u
Hope they might at least do a heads only sale so ppl can secure his sculpt and get him a body later.

 

I really wish Loongsoul would sell heads separately since I would prefer some of their dolls as hybrids, but it seems like they don't have any plans to Have they ever done a heads only sale?

 

Ahh that's a shame about the discontinued models, Jiao Mu Jiao had been one I had been considering for a while.
But maybe this means they'll come up with new models in the near future?

And afaik they haven't sold heads separately? They did many years ago have an event where you got an extra head when you ordered a full doll.

 

I remember about 10+ years ago you could buy heads on their own.
They stopped that about about 2-3 years after I joined the hobby if I remember correctly. Maybe if enough people poke them through their social media if they could make an exception for the molds they are about to stop they'll consider?

 

Sad about Jiao Mu Jiao, I might order him. ACBJD has flexible layaway. I can't really afford him right now and don't love it when dolls go off plan, but he was always on my maybe someday list too. Really adorable sculpt

 

I'm really glad I bought Moon Fairy this year now, but it's sad that a bunch of beautiful sculpts will be discontinued! Hopefully 2024 will bring more lovely sculpts at least.

 

I decided to go ahead with ordering FuSang but now I'm torn on whether I should order her clothes as well. They're very pretty, but at the same time they don't seem that special (no unique patterns or similar) and it might be a good challenge to sew something similar myself

I think that older doll releases will also be in the book. Because the 'White Dragon Bailong' doll is on the book cover on the shown picture on Weibo.

Well, the beautiful LS 'Ancient Legends' sculpts you mentioned definitely belong in that category, too.
Of course I thought of them (in addition to Bailong).

My Cang Jue is finally ready...and I'm in Japan for another three weeks. Well, at least I can get him some nice wigs and clothes to try so he isn't bald and naked when I get home!

Hi. Thank you for the kind words. Yes, I did his face-up. It's amateur, but his sculpt is very pretty and delicate.

Unfortunately, I do have him up for sale at the moment, ...

 

So my Cang Jue arrived after six months and there's a slight problem...I ordered him in NY and his head is white. The mismatch doesn't look too bad in photos and with his faceup, but it's very obvious where his head and neck meet.
I've emailed Alice, who I ordered him through, and she's been great, but Loongsoul are on break because of New Year.
I really don't want to send the head back because I've waited for so long and don't know how long a replacement would take.
I would upload a photo, but Flickr isn't working right now.
Other than that, I'm very happy with him! He's on the 73cm 2-part torso body, poses really well and is a super solid stander. One of my Volks MSDs decided to buckle over and whack him in the legs and he did not move in the slightest!

 

Oh no!! I'm sorry you've had such a mix up!! I'm surprised they didn't catch it sooner because the colors really aren't super close at all. I hope they can get it fixed for you ASAP!

I don't think its amateur at all. Nice dreamy quality. Especially as it seems a lot of people were disappointed with his company face up. What a shame you have to sell him. Must make you heartbroken.

So annoying when after a long wait there are issues. I get where you are coming from not wanting to send him back but on the other hand you need your correct order. Hope Alice sorts you out ASAP.

 

Hey all! Dropping into the discussion to ask how much give/wiggle room loongsoul outfits have? I'm looking into buying one of their 62cm outfits for my doll that is also 62cm. For reference:

(My doll)
Neck size: 10cm
Shoulder width: 13cm
Arms length: 23cm
Breast: 24cm
Waist: 19.5cm
Back length: 16.5cm
Hip: 26cm
Hip to heel: 36cm
Width of Thigh: 13cm

(Loongsoul 62)
Neck: 9.4cm
Shoulder width: 13cm
Chest: 25.7cm
Waist: 19.4cm
Hip: 25.9cm
Arm length: 18.1cm
Arm circumference: 8.5cm
Wrist circumference: 5.4cm
Leg length: 34.9cm
Thigh circumference: 15.3cm
Calf circumference: 11.4cm

They're pretty close, but there's notable differences in the arm length and potentially wrist size. Any thoughts?

 

The sleeves will likely be a bit short. When I took measurements of my LS62cm boy, the shoulder to wrist measurement is actually closer to 17.5 cm than 18, but the wrist (where a sleeve would sit, not the measurement of the joint) is about 6.5.

 

Ahh, so Loongsoul measures arm length from shoulder to wrist? That clarification helps a lot since some companies measure differently. The 23cm arm length on my doll is shoulder to the tips of the fingers, which means shoulder to wrist (I measured about 17.6) will be a more accurate match.

As for wrist size, good to know the actual circumference is a bit bigger for Loongsoul.

For the record I'm not sure where the company takes their measurements from, which is why I took my own to help with pattern drafting. Given the measurement I got and what's listed, it's likely it's from shoulder to wrist, though, which would be more helpful for figure out sleeve lengths
