Loongsoul 1/3 doll discussion Part 4

@celga Short answer is not really. LegendDoll lists LoongSoul 73cm boys as one of the sizes on the clothes that might fit, but they're usually grouped together with SSDF & Spirit Doll's 70cm boy, which I know is much more willowy, and SSDF clothes are super hit or miss, even the stretchy ones.
@Qianna Nope, nope, nope. My ringdoll boy has a ton of clothes because all the SSDF clothes that ostensibly would fit my LS boys totally didn't fit them, but he can wear them just fine. People in the RingDoll thread have also posted about RD's clothes not even fitting RD's own beefier bodies, and I believe someone even got a full set where the pants were so tight they could barely fasten with the doll standing ramrod straight


My Ivan, on the left, is wearing a sweater I ordered in SSDF size, but I seriously suspect they may have sent me an EID sized one, and super stretchy faux snakeskin leggings in "SD+" size from Alice's (which are a bit short, but easy enough to hide with boots)
My MuChen, on the left, is wearing literally the only pair of SSDF sized pants that have ever fit my LS boys (from Sunny's World), the polo is a stretchy-ish "SD+" sized shirt (it was initially a tight squeeze, but eventually the shirt stretched out a bit so getting on and off is easier now) and the hoodie is from Spirit Doll (I think I ordered the size for their 75cm guys)
From Alice's, these shirts (70cm size) are super stretchy and fit my boys well, but not a single piece of this suit fit them (it used to also list SSDF as an offered size, so I guess I'm not the only person that couldn't get any of the clothes on). Legging pants generally fit, so long as they're super stretchy, but I've given up on buying jeans/other non stretchy pants and make my own at this point

 

Ohhhh... I am so disappointed by the news. I hoped they'd just fit into each others clothes. My buff Ringdoll boy can't fit in his pants while sitting but standing is fine. XD

 

Thanks for all of the info! And, well, poo. Any experience with Idealian clothing on these boys? The measurements aren't a perfect match, but they're not nearly as willowy as Spirit Doll's boys - or so I've been led to believe, as I don't own any Spirit Dolls.

 

@celga if you are OK with Taobao as an option, Kami Zone sells some gorgeous suits, and they have a separate size category for Loongsoul 73 cm.

Bearz (which Alice's Collection does carry, but seems to be limited selection) lumps SSDF together with Loongsoul too, but from the buyer reviews (with pics) I've seen on Taobao, seems that most of their SSDF/Loongsoul sized clothes do fit Loongsoul 73 cm.

 

Oh wow, I would so love to look into that...but I literally don't understand how to use Taobao at all!

 

@celga I was afraid to use Taobao at first but it's actually not too hard with an agent's help. If you don't feel comfortable doing it, Legend Doll carries Kami Zone clothes.

 

Oh hey, I just checked, and it seems Legenddoll carries both Kami Zone and Bears (don't know why I turned the s into a z earlier).

 

@celga Kami Zone is fantastic - they're also sold via Stacy's Pink Ocean (and SPO also offers their own clothes made to custom sizes, and they list Loongsoul 73cm as a doll they own).

 

@bickazer Taobao is a scary place... for my wallet that is. I have the Taobao app installed on my phone, since Taobao is much more user-friendly through the app than via browser. But I guess for people using Google Translate to navigate Taobao, the app might not be the best option?

 

Yeah, with google translate, I find the browser version of Taobao a lot easier to navigate than the the app version. But, I've used both, mostly because sometimes sellers will message me through the app instead of Ali wang wang. I thought about buying some Kami Zone clothes through Legend Doll, but that mark up was insane, so I just bought straight from Kami Zone.

 

Christina of Clover-Singing will ordered things for you. I don't know what she charges.

 

I actually inquired about the service earlier so if I can get a response from her. i can post it in here if anyone is interested i like having options for agents for Taobao tbh.

Don't you need to use AliPay or some other form of Chinese banking to purchase on Taobao? I get the feeling they're not PayPal friendly...

 

Taobao takes credit card, though they will charge a transaction fee for all succeeding orders (the fee is waived for your first order). Not sure if it's for all sellers though, might just be for the ones under their international seller program.

I usually just ask my friend's uncle in China to order for me though. Since my Chinese is rather shaky, I wouldn't want to have to message a seller in case something goes wrong with my order.

 

As at @fionvarre pointed out you can use international credit cards on Taobao. Taobao also has their own refund/buyer protection program similar to Paypal.

I do have a question about the skin colors. Do you know if its possible to get Jiao Mu Jiao in say tan instead of their typical white, yellow, pink skins? I know they offer an imported brown/tan on certain dolls. I just hope my heart isn't set on such a skin color for him when it might be impossible.

The thing about using Taobao directly is the risk of them tossing things you otherwise may want. Same with really any agent that doesn't deal with BJD items. I know the agent i ordered some eyes with sent 3 duplicate photos of a single photo so I am having to try to get them to give me the proper info and new photos because they screwed up. 4 out of 6 eyes look to be in the photo when theres other items in the photo thats unknown aka more eyes then i ordered.

So I'll mention both of you when Sun gets back to me in here about the taobao service.

 

@celga I haven't taken the step of shopping direct on Taobao; I usually go through an agent, which might be a less intimidating option for you. They do charge a fee but I find the overall price still reasonable compared to how international dealers will tend to mark it up. Most agents work by you taking a link and entering it into the agent's site, and all the payment is done through the agent. All the agents I've used have taken Paypal.

I've used a number of agents including Taobaotrends and SpreeNow, but I've found I've gotten the best service from 42agent (formerly Taobaoring). Their English is quite good and they've been a lot of help to me when I've been confused or problems have come up.

 

@Pooki Loongsoul actually opened a limited order period for tan and real skin last month. If I'm not mistaken, during that time you could order any of their dolls in those skin colors. So I guess they'll probably follow this model of limited order periods for those skin tones in the future.

 

I'd really like to buy from Taobao one of these days. There are certain bust stands that I'm eyeing for my floating heads -- maybe when my finances get better! And, I quite adore LS's tanned skin options myself. I didn't plan for my boy to be so pale, but it was my fault for not researching on the actual colors well enough.

Anyhoo! After so many months of wrestling with his large cranium, I finally finished my LS ZhuZhao's fully ventilated wig. While I like his default wig in the photos, I am just too OC with my dolls' wigs (the newer arrivals', at least) and want them to be fully restylable. I'm just now waiting for the faceup artist to open slots so he could be sent off and have his makeup done.

@AntarelNefertili Kimchi's wig is looking rather nice!

And also, I really didn't notice from the promo pics that the Zhuzhao sculpt has frown lines. I was planning to turn mine into Hua Cheng from Heaven Official's Blessing, but not really sure anymore if the sculpt would suit, since those frown lines make him look older and more serious-faced.

 

Oh thank you for letting me know that. Where do these limited order periods get announced since I don't remember it being mentioned on the DOA news. In general Loongsoul doesn't get a lot of news announcements actually.

 

@Pooki I got the month wrong, it was announced by Loongsoul late December, and the order period was only two days. I saw it announced in Loongsoul's news section, but I can't remember if BJDivas announced it as well from their end?

Oh I don't think BJDivas even said anything. I know Alice's collection briefly had a mini event where if you bought a full doll and you'd get that pet doll for free. Wasn't mentioned on DOA at all and it basically ended without a single word of it. Which is why I nearly never see any word on Loongsoul stuff. I know at least a dealer announces the new dolls but no events even if its a short period of time. Even advanced notice for say the brown/tan skin for all their dolls would be amazing too. I might email at least two dealers to see if they could be more on top of it. x.x It'd be so helpful since I personally use DOA news to get News of stuff.

 

I would love to own a tan or realskin Loongsoul boy myself some day. But I had Emperor Minyan on layaway when the announced the tan/realskin option, so I had to take a pass on the event.

 

I been lightly pining after Jiao like I mentioned in tan. I love his cute dragon ears and would make such a cute tan boy with the ears. I guess I'll have to keep a closer eye on their news in case this happens again. I wonder how often they happen actually.

 

ZhuZhao's frown is very obvious in certain lighting (like what I used in the photo). It's quite surprising, actually. Maybe he'll look less frown-y once his smirk is colored in during the faceup stage, but I can see how it might turn off some people who want a more neutral expression.

 

I like the frown myself, just that it might not suit the character I was planning to shell him as...

I placed an order for Loongsoul through a dealer, and she says that Loongsoul isn't responding. Is it normal, do you guys experience this as well right now?

 

I forgot who else it was that also wanted to know about Loongsoul white vs Fairyland. I bought a Fairyland WS and look like it's almost the same with the non-imported resin. so good hybrid option if anyone is interested.

Oh yay, a new Loongsoul release. Another 73 cm boy from the Nine Songs series. This time it's a river god (I think) named XiangJun. And he has teeth! I'm a sucker for dolls with teeth, so I really hope these aren't just painted on.

Of course, not as if I'm buying him, since I haven't finished paying off Emperor Min Yan and QiongQi yet T_T...

And for those who might have wanted her but missed out, Daughter of Dragons is going to be reissued. Plus (if I'm reading this right) they're releasing a new skin color this month too!

The new skin tone is gorgeous. I'm glad the new doll isn't more to my liking than ZhuZhao. Surely is a beautiful doll though.

 

@Qianna the new skin tone seems like a better pinkish skin tone option than their regular French pink.

I don't know if it's just me, but this new boy feels like a more gentle and mature looking Weihuohu. And the lilac outfit is pretty, though it doesn't exactly scream "river god" at first glance.

 

Are there likely to be delays in receiving shipments from China? I've noticed one of my preorders has shipped but the tracking number hasn't updated for almost a week.

 

I should think that the answer to that is fairly obvious based on the scale of the current pandemic (latest numbers I've seen are 685,150 total, with 146,400 active cases worldwide). Idk about where you're at, but the post within my state is delayed, and I think some countries (Canada?) have actually put a hold on processing international packages all together.

 

I frequently have packages from China show no movement for a week. Even before the current situation.

 

Same here, packages from China usually take 3-4 weeks to arrive, spending 3 weeks in "Origin post is preparing shipment".

 

Just going to hop on board and agree with previous comments. The only reason that I hate ordering directly from China is that nerve-wracking wait while it stalls at the post of origin.

 

Currently, most coutries' postal systems all clearly specify that mail may be delayed. If anyone is concerned about posible delays, it would probably be a good idea to review any notices on your home country's postal service website to see what they are saying.

Loongsoul is really powerful. Whenever they release new dolls I'm so stunned.
It happens often that I think: they already made the perfect concept - how could I ever make it look better?
I failed doing this for my Wei Huo Hu, ended up having no real connection and sold him.

It happened for the first time that I ordered a fullset. Xiang Jun was my love at first sight.
He's just... wow. I love his hairstyle, his clothes, his eyes, his face!!!

I don't really get it though... I thought the fullset was limited li 100… but now it says 5.

anyways.. I'm in again for a long wait.
But when he's there I can just relax and enjoy his perfect beauty

The edition size for the full set is 100, but the site you are looking at may only have 5 available.

 

Xiangjun released on my birthday, and I had to practice a bit more self control than usual to keep myself from pulling the trigger on him.

 

I bought at Loongsoul's official site. It says 5, but it's probably a mistake....

 

Down in the description it says edition of 100. There are 5 in inventory, Alice's Collections had 10 available yesterday. Each of their dealers gets a specific number they can sell and Loongsoul sells the rest.

Hello! I'm thinking about getting Goumang in the 62 cm body, does anyone have pictures of him? I'd really love to see the blank doll and other owners faceups, i've been looking all over and I can't find pictures of him, also does anyone have pictures of the 62 cm body compared to the 68 cms body? I wanna see the difference in height and proportions

 

I'm really fawning over Fusang Ancient. She fits the character I'm trying to find a doll for perfectly (except for her ears but her hair is so voluminous I think it should be able to hide the ears fine until I get around to modding them.) At first I wanted a 1/4 size doll for my first doll but she really stole my heart...I was wondering if anybody here has her and could show her off? I haven't seen much and I've looked through the forums here, one person mentioned buying or thinking about buying her but I don't know if anything came of it I think they stopped posting.

 

So hello guys I'm in the process of ordering the limited Azure dragon Qing Long from Loongsoul. He was just released today! His fullset and just him in general is actually amazing. I want to say with his entire fullset he stands about 112cm more or less considering his special moon cloud back piece is about half his size. I want to say its an actual back piece with magnet but no real detail looked into that. Also his special feet and shoes also make him even taller. Its kind of hard not to be won over by the man.

For everyone knowledge. This is his special skin color thats available with him. Its like a blue purple grey.

 

@Pooki I want him too, but I don't think the budget can cover him, what with loss of income from quarantine and all.

 

Yeah I fear thats going to be quite a few people right now so he's going to be quite elusive i think. But hes so beautiful. His sneak preview was enough for to win me over. But seeing him in his glory had one of my characters going "Btw remember how you kind of wanted to make me a doll well here's your chance." lol over 100 cm height of resin for a doll XD its crazy

 

@Pooki it probably doesn't help that I still have two Loongsoul boys to pay off...
