@pizzawonder She is divine! She looks like a Snow White Blood Red princess, but much nicer. I hope to see more of their newer sculpts here
Finally ordered a Bear! I'd been wanting him for so long. With Little Monica closing, I had to do it!
Anyone got a LM head on a Luts girl body? Tempted to get a body from Luts for my Charlotte but I'm not sure about the propotion.
someone probably beat me to it... but @Kochou If it is luts model delf, I can try to get a pic sometime this week if you'd like.
@Kochou I could take pictures but I can only show off fit not resin match. But I have a KDF girl type 1, a MDF girl and a KDF45 girl I could try a LM head on.
Here's some Little Harmony girl heads on different Luts bodies (ignore the obvious resin mismatches): I'd definitely make sure to get a smaller S-hook. Like the one that goes with the MDF body instead of the bigger one that's used for KDFs. LM heads are generally smaller than Luts KDF heads but larger than Luts MDF heads. Hope that's helpful.
She's informed me that her name is April, and that she wanted a hat and earrings, so I obliged. I think she is wanting to try a longer wig. We just need to be patient until it ships.
I somehow completely missed that Little Monica announced they were closing down and just saw today My first bjd was a Little Monica Bear named Wren and I've always wanted to get one of their girls - I guess I need to get an order in. I love all their sculpts, it's a real shame they're going.
Thank you for that photo, it is very heplful! Second from the left, are both the head and body NS? The color match looks pretty good.
The NS match is good but not for the parts in this picture. It's a LM cocoa cream head on a Luts brown body. The match doesn't work IRL. It looks a lot closer on this pictures than it does effectively. Here's a resin comparison I did last month or so:
Well I was so upset about Little Monica closing I emailed them to ask what would happen to the artists and sculpts. I got a reply right away. They plan to refurbish production and maybe one day reopen. But this seems very speculative and I don't feel like it's hard confirmation yet.
Interesting! I'm part of the last order (for now, maybe) so I'd like to join the discussion thread, even though I don't have a LM doll yet. I got a full doll and a head. Will hybrid the head with Withdoll. Everyone'd dolls are very lovely, I'm looking forward to mine.
Oh! That would be great! I didnt currently have money for a doll but this gives me hope that i might be able to get one if their dolls in the future
I know that the sculptor used to work for N-Doll before LittleMonica was founded. (I believe all of N-Dolls SD sculpts were re-released with new names under the LM brand. Hopefully she will continue some work in the hobby in the future as well, even if its not under LM name
That is always the hope, Cydril. Artists should have good, secure work like any other job. I'm glad that they can at least transfer their skills to other makers.
So I'm currently putting together looks for my dolls and was wondering which iris size to get. I'm leaning towards a smaller iris, 14/6mm low dome maybe. But I'm not quite sure. What are you all using?
It really depends on the sculpt and you personal preference. My Little Harmony dolls all use 14/5mm eyes but I prefer small irises so you might not like the look. They don't all have faces on this picture but here's all of my girls: Which reminds me that I should do another group shot. Now that they finally got their face ups.
Hmm, I'm getting Sweet Little Sarubia and Gloomy Little Sophia. I would think, based on my other 1/4 dolls that 14/5mm might be a bit too small, but I'm not totally sure. @laquaza your group is very pretty and look very good with their eyes, so maybe 5mm is the answer.
Mine has been wearing 12mm, although I prefer 14mm small iris. And I find small dome fits better. 14mm suits too, just make her more youthful. @laquaza love your group. They are much better dressed and more complete than mine.
@marxwyn : Thank you . I guess having incomplete dolls is just part of this hobby. Some of mine have been waiting for their faces for over a year though . I took some more pictures of Lauren (Little Sophia) and Seraina (Little Roselyn) yesterday: Spoiler: Two more under the cut
My dolls arrived! I have both a Tommy and a Rye (head only) to go with my Jeremy. I needed all the happy boys. They were too cute.
I ordered the week of the discontinuation. I need to paint my Rye and get his body but I'm so happy I got them
I'll be posting pics later but I painted my Rye and got him onto a resinsoul body, and though the resin match sucks the fit is nice. I am really going to miss LM dolls. My sweet Tommy is the cutest little thing.
Resurrecting this thread to post a pic of my newest gal, Jessica. I absolutely adore Little Monica and am very impressed with their packaging and the quality of their dolls. Their wigs are also incredible! Such a shame they've closed...
Jessica is so beautiful, and I couldn’t agree more that the company made such incredible art with their dolls.
I completely agree. My first BJD was little enrill and I was also lucky enough to snag the sd eden head on their closing sale. Wish I could’ve gotten more of their amazing artistry but alas.
@SaltedPretzel She's so pretty! Her faceup looks lovely, very warm and natural. I have received my order, yayOnly took four days! I got a Sweet Little Sarubia on the Echo body (I think) and a Gloomy Little Sophia head. The head went onto the Withdoll body I had prepared. The hybrid works great! I'm very grateful to @Epicari who posted all the helpful skin tone information that I used to choose her body. I got home late from work, so I couldn't take pictures or do much at all yet (I did dress them though). I will have more time tomorrow. Can't wait to paint them
Double post to share Sophia: I finally had the opportunity to do a faceup and I'm okay with it for now. I had wanted to start last week, but I ended up getting sick on Friday and went from work straight to bed until Tuesday.
@laquaza She's so dreamy! I need to share my boys here but I'm not satisfied with Rye's faceup yet. I need to add his teefs and I don't know how.
@stellarphenomena I love your doll, and especially the purple eyeshadow in her face-up I have to remember this sculpt too, she reminds me of another I used to like a lot (another company) that has long since been discontinued. I like how she’s an MSD too, the other was SD.
@Leenah: She was a limited face up around Dec. 2016 for Gloomy Sophia! Gloomy Little Sophia 'B' make-up https://bjdcollectasy.com/2016/06/10/gloomy-little-sophia-released/
Hi Little Monica fans! I started a thread with questions about Little Monica in the Mini Doll thread because this one looked like it hadn't been updated in awhile. But another member thought I might have better luck here. Essentially, I was confused about the status of the Little Monica company since I could find dolls for sale, but after reading through this thread that said that it was closing, I was worried. A couple of people reassured me that Little Monica was back, but I still have some questions. I fell in love with the little Sophia sculpt and read in the chatter here that using 12mm eyes instead of the recommended 14mm could give the doll a more mature look, like a young teenager. I was hoping someone could post some comparison pictures. Someone on this thread that since Sophia has small eyes it doesn't make much of a difference, but I'd still like to see for myself. I love everything that's shown in the company photos except the outfit, which isn't available anyway. But the eye color in the picture only seem to come in 14mm. I also really liked the wig, but it's not offered for sale right now. Does anyone know if it will come back or know of a good other option? Finding clothes and shoes for dolls from this company also seems a little challenging. While some answers are scattered in earlier parts of the thread, I was hoping to get more answers in one place.
I'm afraid I don't have a Sophia, but I might be able to reassure you on the clothing side! I've never had any issues with getting clothes for my doll Casimir (Little Bear). He's on the boy body, but the girl body doesn't look too dissimilar. You just need to make sure you're buying regular 1/4 / "MSD" clothes and not clothes meant for slim minis! (He also has 14mm eyes, if that's any help)
