Just in case - just got the Junkyspot newsletter in: they have tan and normal skin Limho monos in stock

 

Oh, so not fair, I don't have any available money and I said no more dolls this year but I really really need a Limho mono.

 

Rajko got his weapon this week so I had try a pic with it xD Have been neglecting my poor Monos a bit, his brother Varekai still needs his sword...

It looks like I'll be joining the thread, I just bought a tan mono from the JS. I'll admit I hadn't looked at Limwha much as I thought they only made girl dolls, but when I saw mono and all the lovely owner photos in this thread I fell in love with him.

 

Congratulations. I'd be tempted to get a tan boy to go with my NS, James. I'm trying to diversify my collection, but there is something about Limhwa's eh?

@Roterwolkenvogel Rajko is looking fierce. I love seeing photos of your boys!

NovemberKris, your boy is lovely, I had a hard time choosing between the tan and the NS. I can see why you'd want to buy both. I wanted to do a goth boy so the NS would be great, but I ended up choosing the tan because the Limwha tan seems different to other tan dolls I've had.
The NS seems very pale compared to other companies NS, almost white?

LadyDeath, You are correct. Limhwa NS is very pale and similar to some other companies WS. The WS is very white.

 

It is funny because I never found him too pale because my first doll was an Iplehouse NS. But now that I have a Fairyland LTF in their NS, I see what everyone means about it. I must like pale NS since I also have a DiM GSE girl. Haha. She is especially pale.

@LadyDeath you'll have to spam your boy when he gets here. Limhwa tan varies a bit from batch to batch, making it very unique. But I see many tan ones I love.

 

I got him blank because I like to do my own faceups, but I'll def spam him blank. From photos their tan looks very different to fl tan.

I still have to get him clothes, I do have msd boy stuff, but want to try a few things on first to see it they fit. His waist is very narrow.

 

I love my tan Lily so you are sure to love him. And yes, he is so skinny! I've thought of creating a waist band to help him fill out shirts a little more naturally, haha.

 

He's here! And he's gorgeous! Very different feeling resin from my other dolls, he does have a different coloured spot just below his sternum, I'll have to blush it. I love his face its soo realistic looking compared to my fl dolls and others.
I tried some trousers on him that fit my minifees and it seems his legs and ankles are thicker as I couldn't get them up his leg. Anyone else have this problem?

I made a new wig for my little willy
I would try the crobidoll india blue fur because I love the color, BUT when I received the wig, my limho look like...........80's tina turner T.T sooooo I cut and glue the fur in an alpaca style wig, and I love the result!

What lovely Monos you all have. And because i have one too, i share him here. He's still not finished. I can't find the right Pants and Wig for him
Here i only have one stupid Pic of him that looks decent, all others were trash.

 

I recently received my main man (I've wanted him a long time). He's got his wig but I can't choose between high dome and low dome eyes for him. Do high dome fit in him?

 

Generally, low dome eyes fit better in BJD's. High dome eyes are hard to position and tend to gap at the corners.

Hi! I know there haven't been any recent posts but I figured it would be best to try my luck asking here since Mono isn't a particularly popular sculpt. I've read through the whole thread. I know Mono should get 10mm eyes, but a few people mentioned that since Makoeyes run a bit small, their 12mm might be a good fit. Does anyone have their Mono in 12mm Makoeyes? How does it look?

I will probably get him 10mm eyes from somewhere but I do love Makoeyes so if their 12mm would work I'd prefer to use them instead.

Also it looks like Limhwa/EOS is having an ordering period June 20- 26. I plan on hopefully ordering a tan Mono.

 

Unfortunately I don't know about Makoeyes specifically, sorry - mine is in what i'm 80% sure are 10mm acrylics.

Oooh, please share if you do get him! Tan monos are so pretty!

 

Woohoo! I was able to place an order for a tan Mono! Not sure how long the wait is but I'm super excited! I'll probably order him some Enchanted Doll eyes. I don't want to risk getting him slightly larger eyes and not liking them.

 

Thanks @unoa_im_afreak I'm expecting a five to six month wait. It'll give me time to put money aside for more clothes, wigs, eyes and accessories.

 

I tried looking at the Eosdoll and Limhwa websites, but they're a bit hard for me to narivate so can anyone tell me what is the difference between Limho and the Mono sculpt? Or are they the same thing?

 

I just received a shipping notice for my Mono!

 

@taixonay Congrats!!! So that was just over two months? That seems really good considering the pandemic and stuff? I hope shipping is super speedy for you!

 

Yeah! I was really surprised. Everyone else seems to average about 5-6 months it seems.

 

UPDATE: He's here!



He's really cute! He looks great with my Narae girls. I can't wait to give him a face-up and for his wig to come in.

So, one problem I'm having with him is that he can only stand when he's leaning forward. I can't get him to stand up straight. I've tried him with shoes, adjusting his legs, pointing his feet inward. He absolutely refuses to stand unless his top half is leaning forward. Do I need to string him tighter or something? I've heard so much about Limho's good posing, so this is a little frustrating.

ETA: So... tightening his elastics is going to be a bit difficult. For some reason his neck rod is superglued in.

 

oh yay @taixonay congrats on getting your mono! he's so cute. but oh gosh, years later and the mono still comes with very loose strings. @.@ i remember i even had to use hot glue on some parts of his joints just to be able to pose him better. good luck getting him to stand!

 

I bought an older Momo that has the orange color tan from years ago, he's actually a very well made doll, but smaller msd then Volks. I cleaned him and hot glued his joints and he is pretty sturdy. Here's a photo of his orange color.
