Limhwa Limho 44.5cm Discussion Part 1

I *think* the standard length inside the shoe for MSD shoes is 6.5 cm. I've heard you're supposed to add a centimeter to your doll's foot length to find their shoe size, so if Limho's feet are about 5.5 cm long MSD shoes should fit. And if the shoes lace up, or are boots, I don't think the extra room to the sides would make much difference.

Narin-sized shoes are supposed to be coming out soon on Dollfair, too, so you could compare his measurements with the ones for Narin on that site.

 

These shoes are supposed to run small for standard MSDs, so they should fit. ^^

 

Reika - generally speaking, dollheart shoes fit my slimmer MSDs quite well, but only as long as they cover the ankle. Sandals, mary-janes, sneakers, etc., will look too big and awkward. I've bought many a cute pair of shoes from dollheart only to discover that 5.5cm feet just don't cut it.

My boots from them look great though, they look perfectly normal. So yes on boots, no on anything else.

 

I would like to hear owners pros and cons regarding Limhos, I love them and would love to buy one at one point but would like to hear owners opinions. They seem too good to be true but have also got hints that they may not be. Let me know all about your Limhos! What about the additional mouth pieces, their open mouhts, the type of their resin...? I would really love to hear from you all, thanks!

 

We just got our Limho, and honestly there isn't a thing I'd change about him. His sculpt is fantastic (sexy manhips XD ), his posing is just phenomonal (he can stand with his toe of one foot and the heel of the other on the ground, as if in mid stride o_o .. and his torso joint is great XD ), and he's got the prettiest face... ~_~ His mouth piece is really easy to use, it just slides into place and stays there (my Narae's has to be puttied in). His resin is similar to Narindolls- lovely transcluscent resin with a nice tooth :3

 

Wow, sounds amazing! Does the mouth sort of 'open' when you put the teeth in? Not sure how this works! I would love to see photos of the pieces. The skin looked very translucent in photos in the sun, no more than usual? Resin not thin? More more!

 

I agree with angelmecha, his resin is gorgeous and has good "tooth" to it, so that if you ever needed to redo/retouch up his faceup it allows for better grip of whatever medium you're using to do this with. The resin itself is no thicker or thinner I believe than ordinary resin, it just has a prettier, more transluscent look to it. And his posing really is amazing, no kicky arms or legs, can hold pretty much any pose you put him in, his torso is beautifully sculpted, and has that long, lean athletic look to it, so that for an msd size boy he still comes across looking less *childish* and more *teens* in terms of age. The only reason why I'm selling mine is because I had no business buying him in the first place when I had other plans with the funds so...

oops, reminds me I need to go back and finish up his faceup...

oh, the Limho I got needs a little putty to keep his mouthpiece in, but very little. The mouth comes already open, and you just slide the mouthpiece in and arrange it so that it shows a lot of "teeth" or just a little, depending on your preference. You can also put the mouthpiece in so that the "teeth" totally covers the mouth opening (giving him a "grin" verses a half smile) or I guess you can just leave the mouthpiece out totally, which gives him a sort of "half parted lips" look.

I was going to ask that, too . . . does anyone know if it would work? And if the Limho resin might match one of the Narindoll resin colors? Not that I don't like the Limho body, but I'd rather have him be the same height or shorter than my Narin. Even if that can't be done though . . . I still want one XD

 

I think 10mm eyes are best although 12mm will fit as well. Ive gotten my Limho msd size shoes and boots from dollheart, I think the shoes are a better fit, but both work. All of his clothes have been commissioned except a suit I got that was made for a Narin and the pants are too short. Wigs size 6-7. (Im still on the search for a perfect wig)
I dont have pics yet (hes still waiting in line for esthetics) but I hope I still helped a lil.

1. Limho poses like a dream. And with his hip joint he can sort of move the torso a bit which puts him into a really sexy pose

2. Where do you order your clothes from?
I have some Mio Unoa stuff that fits(cargo pants and lose stuff) and a few Matt O Neil tops. I also have some cute things from Brenil on the way. I will start selling Limho things soon as well.

3. 5-7 weeks i think, cant remember.
4. Default size is 12 mm, but i prefer 10, his eyes are really small so 10 looks better IMHO

He's 46cm, taller than my DZ Mo.
My Limho has been the easiest to bond with. I love him.
I get all his pants/jeans from Milk&Honey and I'm hoping to order some tops and jackets from Brennil. He has boots from Leekeworld (great fit) and the Dollheart shoes he has fit well too.
I got him in the first order, I think it took about 5 weeks maybe a lil longer. I dont think they offer body blushing, but you could ask Catrina.
I prefer 10mm eyes. I like the way the Gumdrops fit, they are a smidge smaller than most 10mm.

Awsome. I love their sculpt - their torso especially makes me drool. They pose wonderfully and very elegantly. They stand and sit so easily.

General MSD clothes are way too big. Also be careful with shirst because Limho has a long torso, so sometimes the shirts can be a little short.
Shoes I've bought from Ebay user Mimiwoo (for MSDs) and anything I find that fits Unoa.

3. When you ordered him, how long did it take for him to arrive?

I bought him second hand, but I believe Catrina at dollfair.com has some in stock at her store.

4. What size of eyes can you use?

I use 10mm, he has small eye sockets so anything bigger, the iris takes up the whole space - although they can get away with 11mm from masterpiece nicely.

5. Could you post some pictures of what your Limho's look like?

I was hoping you'd ask, lol.

Here is my new baby and he is VERY loveable!

 

Sirius' eyes are 10mm gumdrops. His wigs are custom but he fits in the 6" best I think. Leeke wigs are too big

 

Here are some crappy ones I took just so you can see the size comparison. I dont have the MNF anymore or I would take better ones.

 

He takes the wig size of 6-7 since his head is 6,5inch.

 

If it doesnt have elastic, they're too big.

 

^_^ Thanks for answering my questions, but can someone measure around his upper and lower arm? Also his upper and lower leg, I don't want to make his clothing to small...I would be sad T.T

 

I'll see if I can get a picture but I strongly suggest the 10mm - the 10mm are perfect. The 12mm are too big and the iris takes up the majority of the eye socket.

Limhos are fantastic! They should wear 10mm and 11mm - 12mm take up the whole eye socket. They can wear any clothes that MNFs, Narins, and Unoa boys wear - although Limhos have longer torsos and legs - so some things are just too short.
They're french resin so they won't match well with any urathane resins however they do match the pink white skin tone that is offered by Narindoll.

I love their torsos and face - those are my favorite parts of them. I dislike their funky nails - but that can easily be fixed with an exacto knife and sand paper.

And I love their height!







They're heads actually fit nicely on the Narin bodies - Velcrotrainer (Linda) here on the DoA has a Narin head on a Limho body.

Also, here's Bisbee, my normal beige urethane Limho. He's wearing 10mm eyes from Ginarolo, a wig from Dollfair.com and Mio clothes.

 

Does anyone know where I can find a pair of jeans that FIT a limho...and by fit I mean, actually fit tight as opposed to baggy lol I've been told they can wear mnf clothes, but I HAVE a mnf and everything that fits him like a glove is at least a 1/4 inch too big in the waist on my limho! Any help greatly appreciated!

 

Thanks! The entire outfit is Mio and the vans are from releaserain on Ebay. There is a huge selection of Vans now in all kinds of colors and patterns! I must buy more! It's very exciting!

Sweater & Hat - Another space (ordered from Dollmore)

I recomend eyes from Ginarolo - she's great to order from and the eyes are fantastic.
Also if you're willing to wait and spend the extra money, there are Gumdrops (urethane) which are just absolutely fantastic.

Hey guys! I was wondering if someone could give me a few measurements not found on size charts. I'm going to attempt to make him some clothes before he gets here. My fingers have been itching to do something for him. ^^ I will love you forever! Here's an image I took from the site and drew in lines of lengths I'm looking for specifically.



It's really straightforward.

Red - Width from shoulder to shoulder
Purple - Circumference/opening size around the arm where the shoulder connects
Blue - Top of shoulder to crotch
Green - Top of hip (just right under his belly button) to floor/bottom of his foot.

I know I should probably wait til he gets here since I'm going to be flying blind attempting this. However, I got some freetime on my hands until next month. And since I know I'm going to have to go through the whole "trial and error" process, I might as well.

My BFF, Gitanna, sent me flowers for Easter--so I sent her copies of these pics. Maybe a potential new Limho owner???

 

Some resin BJDs are regular urethane and some are French Resin. I think French Resin is just a more expensive and more translucent form of urethane (can also be more prone to yellowing). So even though I think they are both urethane resin, ones that are French Resin usually say they are, and the others say urethane or just "resin" (or say nothing at all).

Anything Narin fits, some of the friends 2b made things(although short). Lindsasy's corner makes lovely things as does Brennil of Her Delicate Strength. Some Tonner from the Harry Potter will fit.

 

I don't think that the limho is protected with a resin anti uv. When I have got mine, there was a word saying to protect against the sun.

 

If you are worried about the French resin, please purchase one in normal beige. It's a pinkish beige urethane, and a bit stronger against color changes. But all resins will yellow eventually.

yellowed French resin isnt as bad as some people make-it out to be, I cast all my hand-cast dolls in the same brand as used by Babicrony and after over a year of repeated exposure to sun sand dirt air etc... my white skin is only has palest tint of yellow and its really quite appealing. They dont turn into bananas if thats what you're worried about

 

Can someone tell me about the boys knees and elbows? Can they sit on their kneels in a kneeling position? I've been in love with the Mono since I saw him, but he's in a running race against time and money for Christmas, I just want to make sure he's definitely the one I want!

 

TQV - Mono is single-jointed so he don't come of as very aesthetically pleasing when kneeling, his knees looks a bit chopped off at the front. But otherwise I think he's quite good poser, he can do most of the basic stuff, but not the advanced poses like the doublejointed can.

IngieBee - Mono matches most of the mature msd girls in headsize (unoa, narae, supia, etc). My Mono has lots of female friends and lately he's been sharing wigs with them and sometimes even clothes, when it comes to tops that aren't too frilly and pink

I made inquiries about using a Korean shopping service to try to buy Limhwa Leda without going through Dollfair. *I got a reply monday (4/18/11) morning indicating that Limhwa only sold internationally and that ordering was temporarily closed. *Dollfair's Limhwa website mentions a Grand Opening in March 2011 but doesn't explicitly say ordering is currently closed. Therefore, I thought I had better give a heads up to DoA folks.

I just love his tan and I'm pretty glad that he fits in the Slim Mini clothing I have at home... although I need to go out and buy some manly clothes for the poor boy x'D

 

neon; Facial fat also contributes alot to the youthful look of a face. I sanded down the cheeks of my Limho Mono, and it certainly seemed to help him look a bit older.



I never finished his customizing, though. Now I have a new one to do the exact same thing to.

Or, to minimize the look of facial fat, you can blush the upper cheeks in a way that will make them look smaller. My new Mono has something similar to this:



A face-up really can do wonders to any face. It's like make-up on real people, really.

 

New beauty white Mono! :,D So beautiful. They were so super affordable thanks to the Junkyspot preorder. I think because of Mono's expression and chubby cheeks, he gives off an immature personality. I painted a Mono (owned by Perpetuus) a few years ago, and those cheeks really stood out:







Splyterhayde is very right though in that if you blush underneath the cheekbones, you can hollow out his face a bit through face-up alone. Sanding did help tons though! Mono's default face... he looks like a 16-year-old to me who still has the mindset of a 12-year-old, haha! Nevertheless, 1/4 doll heights compared to 1/3 doll heights do make the minis look about 10-11 based off of height alone. I think the only dolls that are properly tall enough to appear as pre-teens to early teen are Zaolls, Vitos, and Idealian51s. Teenagers are usually at their adult height already too, so if that's the case if you want to keep your 1/3 scale dominant then your teens should be 1/3 scale.

I have another question about wigs, if you don't mind.

After a bit of research, I really like Leeke's wigs ! Did any of you tried them on your Mono ? They're quite expensive to order (shipping ), so I'd like to be sure the Leeke 6/6.5 would fit. I like this one in particular.

Hello! I've been hanging out on various large doll threads and have posted only a few of my smaller dolls. This looks like a good place to introduce Heath, my tan Limho Mono from 2009. What surprises me is how much darker his tan appears than the tan I'm seeing in other photos here. He is wearing a Leekeworld wig, size 6/7, that I ordered from Denver Doll. It's just a wee bit big, so he has a silicone wig cap under it. I made the shirt.

 

Hi--I bought sisterceurvo's (duh did I spell that right???) Limho and I must say, this sweet boy has totally stolen my heart. I redid his face up. Meet Kai.
The wig is made by me--if it looks like his mom cut his hair it is because she did LOL! I also sanded his fingernails--sorry gang but they bugged me awfully. Man I am so happy with this boy.
