I really do like my lady! I have named her Olivia. For now. With the male head she is Anne. I am liking it with the male (Livan) head quite a bit. More mature. I am hoping they do another head event so I can get a second one! Sanding has gone well. I had to sand the top of her legs since I bent her a little bit forward. She isn't doing a "back bend" as much. Also sanded her tush a bit so wasn't so obviously back bent. And her tummy as well. I am quit pleased with the small bust also! (I'd say it's actually a B cup which isn't really a small relatively speaking, more average size) I have drafted the sloper patterns and am about to do the mock-ups in a day or so. Will post pictures as soon as!
My Avatar is my new doll. She is wearing the crinoline I have started. It's only basted at the moment. Wasn't sure if I could post a picture so made her my avatar in case anyone is interested. Not the best picture but only one I had on my computer that was head to toe.
Good job on your sewing! I am interested in these dolls, even though I will not be able to buy one for awhile. Spam all the pics you wish to share!!!
I have done the cover and attached to crinoline. Still have a bit more to do but it's coming along. Again it's avatar....
Approaching two months from the order date... Does the order status remain as "Confirm Receipt" until shipping? That's what my status has been since the payment was processed.
Yes it does. Doesn't show up as shipping either. But, you will get a tracking number by e mail and that tells you it's on it's way! A bit more then 2 months is what it took for mine.
Your collection is amazing! I am shocked how Soom MA Sabik looks dwarfed by him! It almost makes me wish I haven't sold my MA Saiph, as at long last a male that looks like a great dance partner is around...
Has anyone had any luck with contacting Lee-el via the Q&A on their website? I sent them a message over a week ago trying to ask about the status of my order (I bought a pair of Walker boots over a month ago and they still have not arrived, and I have not gotten a shipping notice - according to the website they're supposed to ship within 10 days), and I haven't heard anything back. After shipping, the boots came to over $75, so I'd like to know what the holdup is.
They are very slow to respond. I ordered a suit about the same time and haven't heard anything back from them. Haven't poked them yet either. I suspect they are a tiny shop that has to make everything by hand. I'd say ask again. They eventually reply back. I had to ask a few times about my doll, after I'd finished the lay away. I expected the suit to be made to order, but I would have thought shoes would be in stock.
OK, so their communication is terrible, but I did just get my suit in the mail today! It looks grrrreat! The tie is disappointing as it's just a ribbon, but the rest is impeccable. And wow, does my guy clean up nice! Once again, the pants are too tight for him to sit, but standing up, everything looks great. Photos maybe tomorrow. Kiyakotari - hopefully this means your shoes will arrive shortly, if they haven't already.
I was able to finally get in contact with them, and they apologized for the delay and said they would be shipping the next day, but radio silence since then.
aernath - I'm following you on flickr now so I can see your guy in his suit! Kiyakotari and Wotan - I hope your dolly comes home quickly! I can't wait to see. I'm so glad for the activity on this thread, I'm not an owner (yet) but I'm very interested in the Lee-el dolls. Thanks for sharing your dolls!!!!!!!!
Yay! Good news all around! mollym - Aww, thanks! Sorry it took so long, but I finally got a few posted for you. Here's one for the thread: Singha - Leeel tan Alzad by aernath, on Flickr
Wow, he's sooo handsome in that suit! He looks so suave!!! Congrats. I think it would be hard to stop taking photos of this fellow!
Thanks! I think he's going to stay in that suit for a while. I pat him on the head every time I walk by him.
I totally fell in love with these big boys (and girl)! I really fancy their body proportions. I've been eyeing Alzad, he would be perfect for my character but the only tricky thing is that I most likely wouldn't be able to find anyone willing to sew the kind of clothes I want for him. orz Hope he'll still be available next year, I can't possibly afford to buy him before that!
I need some serious help here. I'm still waiting for the order I placed on April 24. It's been 7 months to the day. The last update on their website was the change to "Before Shipping" I mentioned back at the beginning of August; as of now, that's what is still listed. After repeated attempts to contact the company via their website and e-mail, I received the following e-mail response from them on September 9: Hello~ I\'m sorry to you too much. There was a problem with the manufacturer. But now, all problems were resolved. I\'m really sorry it took so long. The last appointment. Thanksgiving will be sent immediately after. I will send another chest parts free of charge. Thank you. I assumed they meant Chuseok, which ended on September 29 this year, so I gave them until the end of last month to ship my order. No change in update. At this point I've e-mailed them five times this month, with as many requests via the Q&A feature on their website. I've heard nothing. Has anyone received orders from Lee-el recently? Has anyone had success contacting them? I know I'm being paranoid; I suspect that I'm being overly aggressive in sending as many requests for information as I have. However, I'm out over $1000 on this and each day I worry more and more that I'm never getting anything back for it. If you've got any advice, please let me know. Thanks.
That doesn't sound good, but I haven't heard anything about them not keeping their end of the contract. I would keep on them. They have a grand of your monies and you have the right to poke them with a verbal stick until they get their act together. Try their Facebook page; bring the problem out into the open and I'll bet you get a response.
Hmmm... They Are slow, but so far, everyone has gotten what they have ordered. The times I contacted them and got responses, it was through their website. The Q&A thing, which is more like an "email us" sort of thing. I really hope you hear from them soon! I believe my boy was mailed out without any notice or change in status. Just showed up one day.
Thanks for the encouragement. If they have a Facebook page, I can't find it. I've tried posting a question about the wait time on the order page of the doll just to see if it gets a response. Part of me wants to e-mail them every day until I hear back, but they seem very good at ignoring everything I've sent them until now.
OK, no FB page. Maybe at this point you should consider spending the $30 for a direct phone call. Otherwise I would e-mail them once a day until I got a decent response or the doll. Do they have a company page here at DOA? If so hit that with a question.
they do have a DoA account I just don't recal if it's with the lee-el name or not >< but I know they have one
Poke em with a stick anyway. Post a question or send them a message. This is really starting to bug me as I had Chris on my list of wants, but this isn't of the good for customer service.
Another day, another e-mail sent... I've sent a conversation request to the member listed here as the sales rep. Still wondering how long it's been since anyone's gotten anything from them.
I knew they didn't get a lot of sales, but .... wow. It does sound like you have been the latest to order from them. I did get my suit. Took a while, but it did come, and it's very nice! I don't think I even tried communicating with them though.
For those of you that have received e-mails from Lee-el, would you be able to tell me the address you received them from? The only e-mail response I've gotten from them is ; I've tried to no avail.
Oh man, not comforting to here. I order in June and have been waiting four months. So, I might be the latest here to order from them. No sign of anything and no response to my biweekly e-mails since the beginning of October. Man. And I was so hopeful for this... I'm out a lot if this doesn't go through. I was trusting other people's good fortune, if radio silence. ... Well, now I'm just nervous.
Hate to agree but ya, no response from the folks at Leeel isn't right. Better to get your money back now and consider a possible reorder later if they can explain themselves properly. This just slays me as Chris is on my so wanted list.
Crud. Yes. It's been too long with no response at all for you. At this price, there really should be better communication. Hopefully it will all be cleared up quickly! I still have Jacob on my want list.
On the drive home from work, I had the sickening realization that I probably can't start a dispute, as it's been over 180 days since I placed my order. I'm still going to do what I can via PayPal; they could at least investigate and see if others are in a similar situation.
That's true. Can't hurt to ask! Explain the whole situation so they'll know why we wait so long before taking any action. Knowing it routinely takes three months for production from a fast company, may help.
Exactly this. Give them all of the details, dates, the scant communications you've received from the company, the more information, the better. Paypal does say in their customer support FAQ that they review *each* case, so I think it is not unreasonable to for them to give due consideration over a bigger window within which to file a claim over a hand-made artist piece like a BJD. The downside is that they also say a decision will be made within 30 days, but hopefully you won't have to wait that long.
Did you use a credit card via Paypal? If so you can file with your credit card company for a breach of contract; a failure to provide the merchandise you paid for.
I think she could only do it one way or the other or it would amount to fraud on her part.... cuz if they BOTH took the cost off then that's double dipping... and not legal. And time wise... way to late to do stop payment procedures.
Not much to update at this time. Right now it looks like my claim is closed because it's been more than 180 days since the initial payment. I'm hoping that they'll reconsider, given some of the mitigating factors with this situation, but I'm not holding my breath. It does look like an e-mail has been sent by PayPal to Lee-el, so I'm hoping that gets a result. I don't want to go all Chicken Little here, but I would strongly advise you to go ahead and fine a dispute or something if you paid through PayPal. I'd hope that Lee-el would see the message from PayPal, get off their asses, and get your order to you, but right now I'd plan for the worst and try to recoup whatever you paid.
I just opened the dispute. Hopefully, it gets me either the doll or the money... MAN. I really want a 90 cm doll and these were my favorites of all the molds I've seen. DANG IT, LEE-EL.
These issues make me so sad I am in the midst of saving up for a Selena, but if Leel is having lots of issues then I guess I'll have to wait to see if things get sorted out before I place my order. I was hoping to have enough saved up by Feb to order her..... but all these problems are worrying me. I'm not from the US and the dollar in my country is very bad compared to USD, so I will be paying almost $500 extra just because of where I'm from. I work hard and don't wanna lose my money I hope things work out for everyone!!
Read the latest posts on this thread... and definitely getting discouraged. I thought that they had a modicum of integrity, like most of the BJD companies. And it is unfortunate too, since Le-el is the only company offering that kind of size. and I was supposed to get a Selena too... but maybe I should wait until they have regularized their services.. overall, that's really too bad... and I hope you guys get your money back..
SQ labs did this to me last year. Just blew me off with no notice. What pisses me off about Paypal is that they just close the dispute. I said if some foreign company is taking off with my money can't you talk to them or look into it. They basically said no, it was past the date so they don't care. They know they got a lock on this stuff so they don't have to. Too bad about Lee-el. I had Selena on my short list for next year but I'm done with companies that can't even send some canned response to let me know they're still alive. I know there can be translation problems with answering specific questions but they should be able to match my order and send something like "your order is still being made."
This is depressing. I really wanted to get a Livan and Selena as well, but I do not want to find out the hard way that it's just not going to happen. At least no time soon anyway. Really hope you guys get what you ordered soon!
You all need to leave flaky feedback for leeel in the company feedback thread. I was considering getting one but not now.
Already left feedback, but hopefully others will as well so prospective buyers know I'm not odd man out.
If I left feedback, it would be mostly positive, because I sent my money for my suit order, and got the suit in return. No problems. No communication, but then... I didn't really need it. Not for clothing. A doll? Yes. Clothing, no. I'm really hoping they cough up the dolls and soon. I really wanted Jacob. And the guitar. And more clothes.
Lee-el never responded to my Paypal dispute and my refund it being issued. I suspect that they went out of business completely and aren't checking anything any longer. This is really sad... I still want a 90 cm boy, but I don't know of any outside these and the AoD ones.
Daaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrnnnnnnn! I was really really hoping they were just running slow! Darn darn darn darn!
Oh and I so wanted Chris. Maybe they'll get their selves together or maybe someone else will fill in the gap on large dolls.
Glad to hear you got your refund. I've not tried to lean on PayPal for any additional help; I think I'm out of luck due to the 180 day time limit, regardless of any other factors.
I have not look at this thread for months and did not know Lee el is having this much problem. I still want to order another boy but now I can't. Customer service was excellent back when they started. I wonder if it's bec. they are not getting a lot of orders so going into debt. Sorry to hear that people are not getting their orders.
Oh dear. I’ve been away for a long time, and it’s disheartening to see how things have developed here. I feel sorry for everyone who has had trouble with Lee-el or decided against buying from them. I, too, was in thoughts of purchasing some more stuff from them, but reading this thread here, I don’t feel so courageous anymore. I do hope they will get their act together (unless it’s too late already), because it would be a shame if they dissipated just like that. karlkai-03 by Kai Pirinen, on Flickr In any case, here is my Lee-el boy wishing everyone Merry Christmas!
