Ldoll Festival 3 - BJD convention - France - October 6/7 2012

Mar 6, 2012

    1. Shopping service? What do you mean? If you can buy a doll there?

      From what I've heard from people who went last year, most companies only accept cash.... I'm not fully sure though, but I don't think they have portable banking card-machine things, only Think!Pink has that. So I have noooo idea. ;-;

I want to buy a BF msd, so I guess I'll have to bring cash.

    2. Kayren-Twist, I'll also hope I'll be able to bring home a Tinyfairy or Shinyfairy boy. ^__^ Most of my dolls are girls so I think it's time for a boy if there's not any sensationally pretty girls there. :D

Last year only cash was allowed to most stands, I think it is a safety issue also? Last year I bought a Tinyfairy Jasmine from Think!Pink stand ;) I might take her with me to look at the festival again. ^__^

    3. The problem is that paying differently than cash was not possible.

There weren't any shops that took cards (understandable, because offering such a service is quite pricey, you have to have good internet connection and so on) and while I tried to pay Asella/Noble Dolls we've also made the strange observation that is it very difficult to pay through Paypal if you're not at home, that is in your home country. As a matter of fact Paypal thought that someone from abroad hacked my account and they locked it and refused to make that payment O__O. Luckily there's this ATM next to the exhibition hall.

    4. Sharkyra, that sounds scary! o_O Kinda good that Paypal protects its users like that but annoying at the same time.

I'm very excited to see what people have come up this year! Unfortunately I won't have much cash to spend but hopefully I'll still be able to buy something nice to my dolls ^^

    5. I spoke with Lelahel about paying at the Festival:

So, if you're from out of Europe or England, make sure you have cash in Euro. As Lelahel said, some sellers might have paypal, but I personally wouldn't count on it too much if you really want to buy something specific.

Lelahel, thanks for the reply and I'm definitely hopping by to say hello~

@ Xaya: I have a badge with my account name on it, so lets meet up! What hotel are you in btw? ^___^

    6. Less than two weeks any more...

All of us 'dealers' received the plan of the exhibition hall. It seems that our booth is very far away from yours' Sharkyra and Xaya. Our booth is the 'Jardin des rêves', so you can easily find us. ;)

    7. Immarre: Do you maybe know which boots are closest to the Think Pink booth? I have to be careful if Bluefairy or Enaibi would be close to them, since I'll be hanging around the ThinkPink booth a lot. xD

    8. Kayren-Twist - Heliantas is on the other side and Kaori on the other. Bluefairy is two booths away, so quite close. :) Enaibi is on the other side of the hall, close to our booth.

    9. Immarre: Haha oh dear... I need extra locks on my wallet. Thanks. ^^

AAARGH two weeks left D: I am sooo looking forward to it! ;D

    10. for anyone going, i'd love if you could take pics at the Lightpainted Doll booth, it's booth number 12, right across from the Bluefairy booth (i saw it on the plan Ldoll tweeted).
Ilona is going to show my Axana in a glass dome, a doll i've commissioned from her, she'll ship her to me upon her return from France.

so i wanted to ask anyone going and taking pics, please could you take a pic of her booth so i could see my doll, that would make my day and week! :chocoberry

    11. Annina, I'll make some pictures for you (: *writes down boothnumber*

    12. aww thank you Kayren, so appreciated! ♥
do you have a flickr, so i can add it to not miss the photos?

    13. Annina,
Yes, search for the account KayrenHikari (yes I am very original with account names.), that's me. I'll send you the pictures through PM and upload it there. (:

(I'm on my Galaxy Tab and a horrible noob with this, so I cannot link my flickr account.)

    14. no problem, i found and added you, that's so sweet of you, it means a lot, thank you!
and have fun at the festival! :aheartbea

    15. Unfortunately I don't remember the name of the hotel, BUT, mine and Jesmoth's booth is number 10 right opposite side of Think Pink! xD So if you hang out there, you wont miss me! xD

I'll also try to photograph everything! ^__^ I'm sure all participants will photograph as much as they can!

    16. Haha okay, I saw it on the map ;D I'm sure I won't miss you. I want to stare at your dolls and admire them <3

    17. Immarre, I've noticed that we're far, far away from each other this time. :sigh I guess it has something to do with us ordering only a smaller table for this event. But since Anna isn't coming this year and I will only be selling 2 dozen hats and some little accessories, a larger booth wouldn't have been necessary.

Of course, I'll come over and check out your booth, too, but I guess we really need to meet in the evening one day :).

    18. I too noticed that we are far from, well, everyone we know. I guess we'll have to meet before or after the festival hours :)

    19. Sharkyra - Oh, yes we should go out to dinner together either on Friday or Saturday. Anyway, you already seem to be like one of us. :)

There's also only two of us, but it seems that we can nicely fill our small table with the dolls and all the clothes. I have no idea how I'll manage to bring everything with me, since I'm travelling with one SD doll and one MSD doll.

    20. I'll just be walking around and meeting you all ^^ You too, Immarre and Uninu ^__^ and Xaya and Sharkyra.

    21. Choosing what to buy is going to be a hard task once again. Many gorgeous exhibitors also this year. The two previous ones I went just with another person, but this time we are going to be a group of five people attending together LDoll Festival so it will be even more fun. I like Kayren-Twist's idea of using DoA-name badges, but I do not think I may get one ready on time. xaya, Immarre, I am wishing to see you both again there, and all the people who will be at the festival.

    22. Sooooo excited!!

I'm leaving tonight and will be arriving in Lyon somewhere Friday afternoon. I hope to visit the city itself Friday evening, but we'll see about that.
I packed Dami, Kayren and my little girl Rosette, and who knows who I'll be taking back as well. I'm thinking about buying an MSD from Bluefairy, or two YoSD's. (I wand Dami and Kay kiddies!)

*looks around* Camera check, dolls check, face-up stuff (just in case) check, clothes check, convention-ticket check... anything else I need...? Wallet, namebadge, ID-card, medicins...

    23. I am very excited, too!

I used the German holiday yesterday and chose which dolls to bring this year. I even changed my Abadon into a Doll Heart outfit in honor of them being there.

The only thing still missing now is the wagonload of cash I will probably wish I could spend...

See You all in 2 days and have a nice trip,
      Astrid

    24. all of the members going to this event, please post pictures as I know there will be some fabulous BJDs and dealers there. Have a terrific time!

I so wish I could go, but alas used my vacation for a family event :(

    25. I'm dying for pics too! Hopefully they will keep me going while I wait for Manon and Loonette!

    26. So looking forward to hearing about the festival! It just gets better each year! I hope my donated prize is well-liked by the recipient. :)

    27. also so much looking forward to see photos!

    28. Wow, how thrilling for all who were able to attend!
I'm looking forward to photos of the lovelies too:daisy

    29. Good luck!!! I wanted to find someone to get me a doll there too but I spent all my doll budget on Manaon and Loonette!

    30. So much people had preorder tickets than there was around half an hour wait to enter saturday morning ! (All Enaibi's dolls were sold in the first ten minutes of the festival ! *_*)
There was many great stands and artists, and incredibly beautiful dolls and accessories. :)
Many official pictures were taken by a talented member of the staff to be shared, I'm sure the link will rapidly be given (if not, I'll share my pictures but I have to take them with my smartphone so they aren't great).

    31. The Ldoll was awesome! it was the first time I attended this event and I really liked it. It's great to be able to see all the dolls and items in person before to purchase them, and the people from the booths were very nice.

I was lucky and I could purchase a Switch Soseo head which I have been wanting for months, and the girl from Switch was lovely and speak perfectly in English.
There were many other brands as well as many French artist, and most of the French artist dolls were sold in the first minutes of the festival!

I also met wonderful people from the forum that I admired a lot, and it was great to be able to see their dolls in person :aheartbea I really hope to go next year too!

    32. I promised someone to make pictures of the Lightpainted Doll booth, but they were absent... I heard they cancelled.....

I had lots of fun and it was fun to meet Xaya and the other girls from Finland. Too bad that Bluefairy was mainly promoting dolls instead of selling, but I got another amazing boy instead. An AnotherSpace2 Jupiter.

I will upload my pictures soon!

    33. that was me, thank you for letting me know!
glad you had a great time, it seems like a really cool event, i looked at many pics on flickr!

    34. Thank you SO much for the GREAT festival! :D

    35. That seems to be the best policy :( I've pretty much given up too and am buying dolls from artists who make them available to people.

    36. I spent a great time and enjoyed a lot LDoll Festival 3, meeting again people I met the two previous years and meeting new people as well - I am already wishing to attend also next year -, about buying, I found several things I was looking for and the chance to get some more in the future,... I will share some of the many many photos I took of the Festival - Thank you so much for it - as soon as I can.

    37. I was at LDoll Festival 3, and it was amazing ! I can't wait to attend to the next.
I thank all the LDoll Staff !

    38. I hope that I shall be present in Ldoll 4 !
