Ldoll Festival 2010: BJD convention – France – October 9-10

Hi everyone

I hope you've all seen the new update on the Ldoll Festival news topic.
Another professional company is coming in person:

Leekeworld is attending Ldoll Festival 2010!

They have booked two big professional booths which means they'll be coming with tons of stuff!! *3*
(I think there's no need to praise the quality of their products. I'm personally really eager to see some wigs and some of their new dolls).

A number of talented French artists are also among our professional exhibitors:

- The French artist Lillycat (Cerisedolls) is attending!
She is preparing brand new creations for the Festival

- She will be sharing a booth with talented dollmakers and make-up artists Nyo and Lywann (Dust of Dolls)!

- Designer Lelahel (Lelahel Clothes) will present her clothing line on her stand.


More names will be announced during the coming months :3
The deadline to book a booth is August 31st, so the organizers should be able to give a full list of exhibitors in September.

I've booked plane tickets, made hotel reservations and bought a 2-day LDoll festival ticket. Now all I have to do is apply for a visa to be allowed into France. LOL! (It's a bit counter-intuitive but we are required by the consulate to buy tickets first before applying for the visa). I'll be in Lyon from Oct 8 to 11. I really want to explore the area, eat at restaurants there and take tours but if my aunt doesn't pull through then it means I'll be alone! If anybody wants to explore Lyon with me, please send me a PM. I'm really easy to get along with

 

I'll be there, hope to see you, I think a lot of people will be there from friday to the end of the weekend ! ^_°
I come from Brussels, so by plane too (but earlier than you).

 

From Oct 6 to 7 I'll be in Paris. Will be my first time in the country! Ahhh, I'm so excited!


Are Winddolls going to sell dolls at their booth? If they do, oh my, the temptation might be too strong! :O But Leekeworld will probably be enough of a temptation! Gaaaah.

I am really excited about this BJD convention and wishing to go to it. My first idea is getting there by train. First I would like to get my ticket to the event, but for some reason the system does not work when I try to check out.

EDIT: Problem solved. I already got my ticket.

Yay! I bought my train tickets and Ldoll fest tickets!!!

I am also staying with mon copains cousin, so yay!

One problem, is there a guest list with the pre paid tickets or what? Because I used my US paypal and it has a US address for shipping >_<

I have been working so hard and moving around that my contest entries are in desperate need of love. Two days till deadline, woah! Im working as fast as I can!!!!!

 

International Velvet - The pre-sale tickets are not shipped. They come as a pdf file when you complete the order. You have to print them yourself and bring them at the counter when you get to the Festival. They'll be scanned to let you in.

Oh yeah, the contest entries. I would have loved to participate in two of the contests, but as things are going here, I'm not sure whether I can submit an entry at all. There isn't any chance you could prolong the deadline to let's say two weeks more, is there?

I'm in a shared living situation and spreading my doll crap everywhere isn't always the business in this household. >_< I'm currently without a sewing machine too so any entries are being done by hand. Massive pain in the butt. Your dolls are pretty so I hope you can enter

So it turns out I can't go to this event due to visa problems. Unfortunately I already booked a 4 nights stay for 2 people at Etap Hotel Lyon Villeurbanne, as required by the visa application process. I can't get a refund for it but I've been told by Jaina, who enquired at the hotel, that anyone with my name and details can use my reservation instead of me. So I was wondering, would anyone be willing to buy it from me at a lower price? I spent a total of 212.12 Euros to stay there from Oct 8 to 11 (departure date is Oct 12). It's a standard room for 2 adults with breakfast for your entire stay. I'd be happy if I could get 190 Euros for it and that price is still negotiable.

I've been registered for the secondhand shop, and I'm buying pre-sale tickets for my friend's mother and I today! I'm so stoked!!

 

Less than a week for Ldoll Festival, the first BJD convention I am going to, and I have almost everything ready (Only some few details are left) for the surely gorgeous next weekend. I hope to meet many of you there. I am already counting down the days until next Saturday.

 

Whoo! i got my tickets today! so everything is in order!! i am so excited about this...especially to get the chance to see some of the French Artist dolls up close...you artists in France have some serious talent!!!!!!

So, i have a quick question, is anyone else staying in the youth hostel of Lyon? i booked my room there because a friend wasn't sure if she could attend with me, and i figured it was a safe bet as far as rooms go, because i didn't want to wait until too late to book a room!

 

I bought tickets for the Ldoll Festival too. This will be my first bjd convention. I am very excited.

Is everyone bringing a doll? Is there a limitation to what You can bring? (e.g. to Volks dolpas You only bring Volks dolls)

And does anyone know if the sellers will accept credit cards? Or is it better to bring cash (I don't like carrying lots of cash with me.)

Just a few days to the Festival now!
I'm soooo excited! (and so is the rest of the team). The French forum is buzzing with excitement too and everyone is really looking forward to meeting our foreign visitors!!

crystalenchantress - Bring as many dolls as you want and of as many companies as you want!! 8D Contrary to Dolpas, Ldoll Festival is meant to give fans the big picture of the BJD market. Therefore we don't want a restriction to one company at all. We tried to have as many different companies as possible attend. For this first edition we've had a few, and hopefully we'll have even more in future editions, until this becomes one of the biggest BJD trade fairs in the world, along with the Asian events such as Dollism.

There will be a big meet-up area meant to encourage people to bring dolls and have a good time with them.
But realistically speaking, I'd say one or two dolls is a good number if you want to have a look at the booths without having too much to carry.
There'll be a locker room that the staff will take care of, but it'll be your call if you want to leave your bjd bag there or carry it ^^

I can't wait!

 

I have some important question..not directly related to the doll festival but anyway...is there left luggage at the Lyon railway station? If not, where in the city can I find such? Does anybody who lives in Lyon know? Help is highly appreciated!!

As far as I know there is a left luggage office at Part-Dieu station (at least, their website says so).
However I have no idea where it is, so you'll have to ask the front desk about it.

The station could be your better option. I don't know where else there's a left luggage office - apart from your hotel/hostel that is...

I hope you'll have a safe trip!!

 

Lunasa : i confirm , there's a left luggage in Part dieu railway station
the station have 2 sides : the partdieu commercial center's one , and the Villette's one
the left luggage is in the Villette side near PAUL bakery ^^
