Ldoll Festival 2 - BJD Convention - France - october 8-9

Misato-swan: A4 is 21x29,7cm (21cm and 29,7cm in height or width, whichever you want). You should be able to change size in the same "image resize" box where you can change the resolution of your image.
Another way of doing it, is to change your selection square tool to "fixed size" with the dimensions 21x29,7cm and then crop the image.

We booked a hotel and flights today! There's a bunch of us finns coming to the festival this year! ^^

 

I too have bought the plane tickets and booked the hotel ^^ At the same time it's hard to wait for the festival and hard to believe it's only two months away. It will be great to meet fellow hobbyists from different countries.

I have decided to try my luck in "Tales and Legends" and I'm thinking of trying to take a picture for the photography contest, too.

Me and my bf anchi have also bought plane tickets and today we're going to book hotel too. I have also decided which dolls get to travel with me \o/. Illusia being the most important doll to me, Ruusu because Xaya asked me to bring her and she is so small she doesn't take up much space and then Dust of Dolls Püns PollyHood I'm still waiting ofcourse. I can't leave her home when her creators would have a chance to see her again. I have also started to think what I should take with me and how my dolls will be dressed etc. This trip will be so much fun! I can hardly wait for october! So exiting to get to meet so many foreign dollypeople and see so much talent and not to mention to be able to shop so many nice doll things there.

Unfortunately on the German forums most people are too busy in October with other things. Well, it's their fault, they don't know what they will be missing . So currently it seems as if there will only be the same persons from Germany that were there last year, too. Oh, but we will bring another girl with us who comes directly from Russia just to attend this event. La Renard posted pictures of last year's gathering on the Russian BJD forum and people there were pretty impressed, too .

 

I wonder if you could tell us an estimated date of when the pre-order for tickets will be opened. I would like to get my tickets before booking anything else (Flight and bedroom) like I did for the previous edition. Unfortunately, I do not remember when it did last year to take it as reference so I would really thank any information about it.

 

I didn't think that people of foreign countries will go to the Ldoll, it's great ! I'm coming too but the trip will be shorter : I live next to Lyon ^^'

Unfortunately I won't have time nor material for the contests, though I bought the cutest fabric. Just like last year ^^; Maybe with another doll because the one I chose... she is perfect for the character but a pest to accessorize. *ponders* But I'm eager to come. Aeris and I booked our hotel and bought the train tickets. Last year was fantastic but I doubt I will have as much cash ^^; (no Soom Amber to sell this time!)

You really have nothing to lose
I remind you that the customization contests are not sewing contests. You can enter even if you didn't create the outfit yourself. You are allowed to use pre-made clothing and just mix and match. Of course if you did create the outfit, there's just that much more glory and personal feeling to your entry :P

I have poor inspiration for the photography contest, I must say :/ But I will try to take advantage of the beautiful area where I'm going on vacation!

 

We were there last year also. And some guy heard me and Immarre chatting at a tram stop our last night at Lyon, when he asked where we were from, he was surprised and said that it is impossible we're from Finland becouse it is SOOOOO far away!

From our point of view Finland is actually quite close to everything! You can get to capital cities of Europe from Helsinki within few hours, and that's faster than I'll reach my parents who live 600km away from where I live AND it is cheaper. That's stange isn't it? I wish people in Europe will come! It is so close and reachable!

I'll update the tickets to our forum too! ^^

 

I'm coming this year too! (: I'm so excited I'm already shaking. XD This is going to be long 2 months...

 

I have not already decided if I can come or not !
I am living in an island in the south of France, then everything is more difficult when we want to go on the continent!
I have finaly found one flight, arriving on saturday morning, and living in the middle of the afternoon of the sunday!
now I don't know what is best : taxi or public transport, one will be easier but much more expensive - well I think?
And if I have to find some one or not to share a room for the hotel!!!!

But yes, it can be a pain whenever you want to come to the continent since flights are always so expensive ;___; But I really hope you can make it!! The flights you found seems good, you'll get to enjoy the festival plenty if you come both days
Regarding transports... no, definitely don't bother with the taxi. It's going to be hell of expensive and the public transports are really easy to use in Lyon.

Once at Lyon Saint-Exupéry aiport, take the tram "Rhône-Express" which is the shuttle to Lyon city train station "Part-Dieu". Get off at Part-Dieu (should take 30min I think to get there), and cross through the train station to the other side of it. You'll end on a big square with many buses and another tram (and the big commercial center of Lyon "the Part-Dieu").
Take the tram T1 there, going toward "IUT Feyssine". Get off at "La Doua - Gaston Berger" (ride will last 15min). Our convention hall is right across the tramway station ^o^

OH WOW! *3* I'm already hyper rolling around! This will be fabulouuuus event! *3*

 

I got my ticket for both days at the end of last month, although I have to book flight and room yet. I plan to take the shot for one of the contests this weekend and send it as soon as possible. The make-up workshop sounds really interesting. If I do not take part in it, as I am afraid, I hope we may see how Cycy and the people who signed up for it work and to take a good look at the second-hand shop which was wonderful last year.

I would like to enter the photo contest, too. I only have pixels as an option for resizing my picture. Does anyone know how many pixels the photo has to have in order to be A4 size?

I know my answer comes in a bit late; I'm sorry I wasn't around today U_U;;
But I thought I'd answer nonetheless >_<

A4 is 21x29,7 cm (or 210x297 mm). Most photo edit programs will let you choose to enter the size of your image in mm or cm, as well as in pixels.

The number of pixels will vary with the resolution you'll be choosing. For our photo contest, we require 300 dpi to be able to print it in poster size of high quality.

 

Today I wanted to place an order with Migidoll, but The site just doesn't load. Anyone else having these problems? I hope they will solve it till tomorrow
