I am noticing all the different hands - how do you get all of them? Is there a way to just order different hand gestures?

 

No Lati does not offer hands for sale.
We need everyones help - when did they offer what hand wise???

In the very beginning 05-06 the doll came with regular hands, the 2 extras were pointing finger and fist

 

Poo - all those hands are so cute. They could make some easy bucks offering hands...

 

Absolutely love seeing these lati photos, they are soo cute!

I think the `lollipop` gripping hand first showed up with the Dragon release, then Sheep (then once in a while pop up as gloved gripping hand with the vampires, and Christmas elves). The hands I love the most are the special hands that came with the Ninjas. Also Prayer of Angel praying hands (I`d love a pair, sigh).

 

The new Lati "promise", still means we are still waiting about 3 more months for limiteds! Not good for me.

I am still glad they acknowledge they need to address this. Of course they do, with all the folks upset.

 

3 more months? Really? I thought they meant that every order should be shipped out by April 15th. Including the limiteds
That is how I read it, but I might be wrong about that. I am often! On the same note, today is March 25th - sooo anyone got some shipping notices?? This is the day they are (supposedly) starting to ship out Halloweenies!

I don`t think I`ve posted any photos in this thread for a while, here is Almond Brioche:

 

I thought the new notice meant Limited dolls will be shipped within 60 days - that's only 2 months. Whether it happens is another story but sure beats a 9 month wait!

Well none of my dolls shipped but they did send part of my wig order, when i asked why the 3 month wait they said one of the wigs had gone out of stock so i finally got them to send the others

 

I'm so glad they are finally being more responsive and providing better estimates (hopefully) and I hope they learn a good lesson from all of this.

i have a question Lati lovers. i actually saw this topic in the general thread...and then a flickr friend called my Pirate Lea "Asian looking" so i got to thinking. what "race"/ethnicity do you all consider your Latis?
Mostly I think of mine as American/Caucasian. Some are French or Italian. Of course, the ones representing my kids i consider to be bi-racial. I did consider my Cubie to be Asian, as he looked it to me. But never considered any of the others Asian(eta: okay, well i do consider Gabie to be mixed Japanese/European). any thoughts?

 

I thought it meant after April 15th they would take up to 60 days to send the limiteds. To me, that is about 3 months, okay, maybe less one week of 3 months. It is about 3 weeks until April 15th.

 

my lati yellow mystic belle head arrived today....
i bought beautiful 12mm glasseyes for my dolly but they are not looking good in the head.....way to much place between eyeball and eye
are silicone eyes better for the mystic heads???

Well it does seem things are looking up if Lati can give us a guarantee like that. Reminds me of Soom with their monthly dolls.

mystic eyes: Lati has different mystic eye shapes for their molds - I have a mystic Miel and Lumi and 12mm are nice in their eyes. Even the normal open eyed molds, some take 10mm while 12 and 14mm are nicer in others, it gets a bit confusing and frustrating when purchasing eyes. Also if you have several Lati and want them to share.

I am so happy to hear the encouraging news on Lati (even if they don't exactly meet the 30/60 day limit, at least it means things will veer more toward 30/60 than 8 or 9 months, right?) Sending good thoughts and vibes that everybody's Halloween Latis are on their way to the airport now!

Am tempted to order another head so that she can also be posted "by April 15th"...

Just a question: when Lati gives a number of days, do they usually refer to calendar days, or working days? I am fretting that maybe they are referring to working days, in which case the "30 days" could actually be more like one and a half months, and the "60 days" will definitely be over two months...

Well I suppose this means I'll be seeing my basic white Belle from September finally. Though they haven't mentioned anything about the Christmas babes. Hope those ship soon too!

 

Not that I know of Hoatien, maybe by Monday morning we will see them shipping.
What I got from Lati's new message is that all shipments (dolls, gift bags, wigs, clothing, so on) would be shipped out by April 15th.
(After all shipments have gone out, they can offer new releases & basic ordering will open).
They then went on to say that after April 15th all basics ordered after that date would
ship within 30 days & all limiteds ordered after that date would ship within 60 days, which is 2 months.
If they do not ship as promised they will then give back 20% of the purchase price in points.
They did not mention the Christmas Elves shipping schedule because I believe that they will offer new releases & basics after the
Halloween dolls are all shipped & before the Christmas Elves are shipped.
There is no way that Lati can ship the rest of the vampires, basics owed customers, accessories,
Halloween dolls & Christmas Elves by April 15th, just no way.

 

If they are trying to get their Christmas lot sorted out AND meet a 60 day deadline for their next release they'll be pushing it if they try to offer it mid-April! I hope they can get the Christmas stuff done first - I didn't order one, but I know if I DID I'll feel frustrated waiting longer knowing people who put in orders months after me were getting guaranteed to get their goods in 30 days while mine wasn't in my hands yet!

That said, you have to respect them for admitting they've had problems and doing something to restore some confidence in their committment to their customers!

 

Matera: That's basically how I understood the message as well, although I was in doubt wether they meant they will ship out the Christmas limiteds before the 15th as well.

Anyhoo, I waited nearly 9 months for my vampire, so I'm getting used to waiting. So far I have only waited 2 1/2 month for my Christmas lmtd Lea. That's nothing

 

Please Lati, ship my Vamp Lea soon.

Sadly, no dollaholic. I think Matera and I may be the only members left waiting for our Vamps I think Lati ran out of some parts which has caused the long delay. I am concerned that they did not mention Vamps in their message about shipping - only Halloween orders.

I reckon it's 60 working days, so 3 months. That's a pretty good wait time for me, I;'ve never waited less than five for a limited I think!

I consider all mine to be English the same as me, except for Lali (Indian, with bindi), Daisy (Russian Matryoshka Doll, working on it) and Cherry Tree (gingerbread!)

 

Agreed! Plus that they give up points when delay, it shows they mean business, I think!

I think of my dolls as "dolls", not people. So they have no age, no race and so on. I don't know why, guess I just never thought about it.

 

Thanks Matera, I am just worried about the quality of the face ups if they try to overdo and keep their promise. The same face up can be so different from doll to doll looking at Flickr. Dolls look different even from the marketing photos posted on their website to the ones delivered. Just keeping my fingers crossed.

 

I worry every time I open up a Lati box. Will the faceup be ok, will there be any missing items?
I am still waiting on 4 vampires & 3 yellow gift bags from June & July of 2010.
Lati answered my q/a last night & said that magnetic parts are delayed but they will go ahead & send out my
vampires with strung parts within this week & then send the magnetic parts with my gift bags in the next week.
They are very confusing with their this week & next week & week after the next week nonsense. I don't know
what to think now.

 

I got a shipping notice for one of my Halloween dolls- Lumi- its a bit weird as i ordered the dolls as singles and then combined shipping so that they would come in pairs, but according to the orderlist she's coming on her own. maybe its because i didn't order the option parts? I ordered all the dolls apart from one on the first/second day they were avaliable, hopefully its not a screwup and she is on her way!

 

angeldoll, I hope its not a screwup & its so exciting to see a Halloween shipped! I think you are the first one to get a shipping notice! Lati shipped most of my vampires by themselves & I had them all on 3 combined orders so anything is possible.

Well i got the proper email and everything, so fingers crossed, it would be exciting to be the first! If she doesn't get snagged by customs she would be here by the end of the week which would be brilliant!!

Matera - they answered my q/a too and pretty much told me the same thing. It's really frustrating not being able to get a straight answer from them. Back to waiting!

I adopted a Sheep Lea from Hei Yan today - I'm sooo happy and excited to meet her!! Yippeee!!!!!!!

Congrats Lazysunbather! I'm so happy for you that you found your little girl! Looks like a lot of us who are waiting on vampires & maybe even basics too are waiting due to those magnetic parts. No wonder Lati has now gone back to strung parts on all of their dolls!

 

Does anyone know if the outfits for the new larger Kelly dolls fit Lati Yellow?

 

hmmm, i rarely think of them as dolls i kiss them from time to time, buy them cute outfits (that often cost more than my real kids' clothes!), make sure they have underwear and socks, buy them toys, put them to bed, "feed" them, "bathe" them, don't buy them cats as pets because they have allergies

thanks Chloe, i think most of us consider them to be whatever we are...i was wondering if anybody actually considered the dolls to be Asian. technically they are from Korea, right? but they seemed to be modeled more after Caucasians. but that could be my ethnocentric bias. do our Asian collectors here consider their dolls to also be Asian? i'd be interested to know.

congrats on all new/incoming Latis...even if i never ordered from Latidoll again, i don't see an end to me buying their dolls the other night i made sure every single doll had a bed to lie in (even if some had to share!) as long as they have beds, they can stay

 

Yay for Halloween shipments! I hope that means Xmas isn't far behind as I didn't get any Halloween babies. I did rather like the Kuku and Ruki dolls.

Yay for shipping notice !!! Can't wait for Lati to reopen ordering. The waiting will kill me but I think its better than secondhand market prices, although I've been lucky so far with my basic Lea head, basic Lumi and tan Pirate Lea!

Hmm I'm an Asian collector and it depends on character actually. Kitana my pirate lea is half indian, she's a rebel pirate tho, she likes to break pirate rules and loves to dress up so cute! XD Basic Lumi is named as a tribute to my fav camera ever (Olympus Pen) so I havent actually thought about her race.. ^_^;; Chicha my basic Lea is definitely Caucasian, she's adopted but she loves being an older sister to Oka (my pkf ante)..

It is the fisher price schoolhouse! The little bell rings too. I'd love to get the little farm as that's the one I remember the most from childhood. I loved the cow moo when the door opened.

Lisadragon, if it really is my Halloween Lumi then i will post pictures as soon as she gets here, but seeing as Last week they sent Hoatin an incorrect shipping notice for her cat Lea instead of a head she had ordered, i won't be believing it until i open the box! I have about 15 outstanding orders total with Lati and it could easily be something else!!

 

Lazysunbather, you're so lucky!!! I was eyeing Hei Yan's sheep Lea on Flickr for a while because it was one of the most perfect Sheep Lea around. I would have bought sheep Lea from her if I had a chance.
But I am not complaining. I've got one myself from Ewa which is more than perfect!
