Actually, I think it might be closer to four years. I remember I discovered Ludwig one fine day in summer but I don't remember if it was 2010 or 2011 but I'm pretty sure it was before 2012.

 

Yeah, four years, but Julia has had so much work to do in building her first body from scratch. And then health issues to deal with. It has almost certainly been more painful for her over these last four years than it has for us. Just toys for us, but a seemingly endless piece of work that HAS to be completed for her.

And that faceup is beautiful. Agree. Great way to start the new thread.

Here is both my (boy) Edria and Roderich. I wanted them to look very similar. I prefer Edria on a boy body right now, because I can't seem to find a female one that has broad enough shoulders for its head size ! I am eyeing the future DT17 with interest

By the way my Roderich is on a NYS 68cm Loongsoul body. It is just one of the best hybrids I have got so far, in terms of proportions, neck mobility and even color ! I don't remember having seen this hybrid before so I thought I would share
On a side note, Edria (I got this head second hand here) is way pinker than Roderich (which I got some time around 2013 Christmas time)

Has anybody any news regarding Ludwig? I feel he is the only possible contender to Granado Mars and the Dollshe men at the moment. I am looking forward to more pictures (especially one with the knees and elbows bent) from LLT. Though she doesn't seem to answer emails, I am hoping she still reads them.

Hey guys! Little question... I’m a bit confused at the LLT website. On the roderich page, it says that the period sale for him is closed, but the price is still normal , unlike the opened eyed, they put $9999, and like last time, they put the red dove head on the roderich page ( i think because the period sale was closed.) but I can add him to my cart. I checked jeeryama from ebay which is a dealer of llt, doesn’t sell the roderich head. Someone care to explain..?

 

I use Schmincke pastels and Sennelier watercolors paints. Both brands are VERY (!) pigmented and awesome quality

Well the original "dreaming" Roderich version is still for sale but it seems that the open eyed version is sold out (I didn't know it was a limited version though !)

It's a 8-9 in size head, the open eye version is closer to 8" than 9". I think it depends on which Volks sculpt you're comparing to, because my 1st release Roderich is just a tad bit smaller than Volks Williams/Reisner, but is similar in size to say like, Volks Ryoma. The head sculpt for the open eye release is really small for some reason...but still fits very proportionally on a Volks SD17 body. I'm not too sure if there are any size difference between different batches of Roderich...

 

Weird. No sign of Ludwig though a new boy's head called Lazuli is offered in the LLT site. It is offered in a 'Volks Normal' (?) colour.
I am still hankering for a tan Red Dove straight from the shop. I cannot bring myself to buy a Normal Skin Red Dove. I wouldn't know which Dollshe resin it would match anyway.

Lazuli is very nice looking he has a generous Benedict Cumberbatch-ish mouth and chin without being a minimee.

 

Ohoh I didn't notice that it was already up on the website. He is very handsome indeed. A mix of Edria, Roderich and maybe a more mature face !
I'm puzzled though as it is only possible to add the WS version to the shopping cart, but it is also written "soldout" in the description ?
And I would prefer the normal skin version

 

Hey! Does anyone know if Lazuli is limited in quantity or does it have an order period? I want a WS but there is a sold out on description. ...? Do LLT aswer inquiries? I have sent them 2 already but got no answer

If you click on shop the 'new arrival' Lazuli shows up if click add to cart it says volks normal skin. It doesn't say 'sold out' like the ones below.
If you click on his name under shop the white skin and sold out shows up. I'm at a loss as to what this means.

 

Oh wow, Lazuli is gorgeous. I feel like getting one just in case I can come up with a character for him. Or maybe he'd make a good girl? My Roderich needs a wife.

Finding a body is definitely part of the worry! Roderich is on a 70cm body, so I'm concerned this head would look bobble-headed an anything shorter.

I don't think it is strictly necessary to put Roderich on a 70 cm body... I have two and they are both looking fine on 65 cm bodies - but broad-shouldered ones. My dreaming Roderich is on the (now discontinued) 65 cm Dollzone body; my open-eyed Roderich is on a Feeple65 body.



I think the boy heads would probably look fine on a Spiritdoll Proud girl body. At least, that is what my Edria is on . I should check the resin match - and I'm wondering what LLT resin looks like these days. My open-eyed Roderich is definitely in a resin that is different from my older heads - less translucent and more yellow (I was kind of disappointed actually; the slightly translucent resin is so much prettier!).

KarinaMD, I have no idea about shipping to South America, I'm afraid... LLT is notoriously bad at replying to e-mails, though they are normally quite reliable. I hope they do send you an answer soon!

 

Finally my Red Dove has his own body.

He's on the Spiritdoll Elegance boy body. The proportions, resin match and size really are spot on. Personally I wouldn't change a thing.

2014: Red Dove / Normal
2015: Spiritdoll Elegance / Normal

Hello! I just ordered my Red Dove head this week, and I'm really excited! But I'm a little bit worried, since I didn't get a confirmation mail, and they didn't reply my email when I contacted them about this issue.

How long did the production take for you? Did you have any communication, or just placed the order and recieved the head?

 

I hope this is the right place for this. I was wondering if anyone is having this issue, I brought a head from LLT and received a tracking number but yet my doll head arrived in a totally different country and was delivered and signed. I have emailed her but nothing has come back. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

 

Sounds as though you were given the tracking number for someone else's head. Hopefully your head will arrive soon and they will get back to you t oexplain.

I have a couple questions about resin matching (planning to get a Red dove girly ^3^); does white skin match with Dollstown fresh skin? I saw Julia reply to a comment on flickr saying that this was a match. Then again on the website it shows a normal skin head on a oriental skin DT body. I relly like the DT 13y girl body to go with the head so any help would be greatly appreciated! I figured asking fellow collectors would be a lot faster than PMing Julia about it @_@

 

White and normal skin from LLT aren't too dissimilar, so yes, fresh and oriental would be the DT equivalent.

We've got a Red Dove in the house but he's still waiting for a face-up. He's on an Aria 16 Classic body (which looks great) and he belongs to my partner.

 

I'm seriously considering getting a Red Dove head in the next couple of weeks. After stalking the thread for a while, do LLT owners think it's best to order directly from the LLT website, or should I go through the ebay seller jeeryama? Price-wise it's basically the same, but people seem to be getting faster replies when going through the dealer?

 

@Dayme It kind of depends on what kind of buyer you are. If you like speedy replies or frequent updates, you may want to order from Jeeryama (they are very reliable), but I'm the sort of person who just orders direct and forgets all about it for a few months because I'm so busy the time is all relative anyway. I've ordered a few LLT dolls direct and never had any trouble.

 

I think the same actually~ it could also give my wallet a break in between purchase & faceup haha how long did your Red Dove take to get home St.James?

 

About two months? I have a receipt showing we ordered 10-15-14 and in part one of this discussion I made a comment in December that idrisfynn would be getting him soon. Talk was quickly engulfed by more Ludwig teasers though, so I don't know about exact arrival.

 

I bought my Red Dove directly last year and didn't have a problem. I ordered in early December, and got my shipping notice in mid-January. I didn't get much in the way of communication. No order confirmation beyond the PayPal receipt, and then a shipping notice.

If you're concerned about communication, definitely go with the dealer, but unless there have been any recent problems, it should be fine to order direct.

I was thinking the same thing. I was expecting to be able to make more stuff to sell this month, but I've been a total slave to the forum migration. I have resisted so far, but I will probably send another email begging for layaway by the end of the night.

ETA: But wait, if Jeeryama is LLT's dealer, then we can do layaway!

Huh. She must only have a cast of the Ludwig head so far. Notice the body he's on is clearly not the size of the one she sculpted and he's covered from top to toe.

It sure feels good to finally see him in resin! With that said, I've noticed that lately the LLT website is no longer loading for me. Has this been happening to anyone else? If so, is jeeryama on Ebay going to be our main source for ordering LLT products now? I don't recall seeing any announcements about LLT changing or moving their site, but then again, they could also just be revamping things in preparation for Ludwig's release.

 

I have no problems with the site. I don't like it too much because it seems to be underused (rarely any new pictures, sale of new heads like Lazuli's without warning etc...).
