Kyoto Dolpa 7 (March 14, 2010)

I hope they at least introduce them as Young Okita and Grownup Okita to keep the confusion down. That made us doubt our eyes for a moment--! "Waaaait, is that just a really really different faceup, without the sad eyebrows? Or is that a totally-not-Okita sculpt?" Mr. Nouveau Okita here is definitely more the face you think of when you hear the story, all right.

Too right-- Graffiti is beautiful head to toe, his musculature is graceful, and his posture is gorgeously natural, but he has no ass a'tall. ^^ Poor little flatbacked trousers!

That'd be "Lenore". All I can think of for "Lorena" is the knife-happy Mrs. Bobbitt from the newsroom floor of 1993.

So so glad I held out hope Hijikata would be SD17. 8D I just absolutely cannot resist.

 

ooohhh....I'm dying for Hijikata....but I want him on the SDGr body maybe....hmm... Okita looks a little too girly/young in the face for me. ^__^;;

Yay! I think I'm not dying to have any of the dolls this time around. ^_^ The newer boys lately just all look too similar to me. They're beautiful, just similar to Ryoya and Minoru. And even if the original Okita doesn't look like the actual Okita Souji may have looked, I like him better than the Redux Okita.

Now... If they offer the Shinsengumi uniform separately... Or any other awesome clothes... I'll probably be screwed. XD

 

Wow, both Hijikata (okay, especially Hijikata) and Okita are beautiful! I don't need more dolls, but I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures of them! Is anyone else kind of wishing they hadn't ordered Minoru in the last Dolpa?

 

I really thought that I would be safe from this one, but then Volks had to throw Lorina at me! I'm trying hard to convince myself that she looks like a cross between Yuh and Kasumi and that I only want her wig and outfit, but it's not working. I think that I'd still rather have the white-skin Alice, but it was sweet of Volks to make this cute head mold available to more people in normal skin.

 

In a way, there kind of seems to be a Four Sisters appearance to her, I think. I think it's mostly the eyes that I get that from and the sort of button nose. It's that nose that kills me! So precious~

I need to see more of Hijikata but I love his outfit. One of my favourite limited outfits to date.

I was trying to figure out why the new Okita looked so dang familiar and he looks like an SDGr version of SDC Ryu.

But if I hadn't ordered Minoru, I could go for Hijikata and Okita right now. Well, now I hope I get enough money for Hijikata in time, and pray that I can still get Okita some months later. But I'm afraid he will be too popular and will be sold out everywhere even at Yahoo Auctions quite soon. Ok, Ryouya was also quite popular I think, and there are still some to get - this is what calms me down a little

Aww, the Yos are so sweet! Not for me though thankfully. And I'm sorta liking Hijitaka, but I don't "do" SD17's so I'm safe there too.

But OMG . . . Okita! It's hard to tell from just one pic but I adore him so far (and I can see the Ryu resemblance. I love that little guy too!). That SDGr body looks delish and I'm glad to hear owners think its worth the scary price. >.< But since I discovered the joys of double jointed bodies I haven't been able to bring myself to buy basic jointed dolls anyway. xD

I agree! She is so sweet. I am a bit torn though, I really want her to come with the outfit, but if she does she will be out of my price range (because of NY dolpa). So I could afford her without the outfit, but I really want her fullset (of course they typically do not release Yo's fullset)! I think I need to step away from the computer or this Dolpa is going to get the best of me!

Does anyone know how the rabbit and Alice were released before? Were they fullset and did they cost about the same as Hina Ichigo?

Prices for the Yo-SDs appear to be the same as per the event?
So it's likely they're full sets, too, I think. ^^

 

I too am going to have to push away from the computer screen I have a feeling. I really want an SD17/16 boy but I have promised myself that I would hold off until a Sunlight skinned or Ebony skinned SD17/16 boy is put out. I love the way this boy looks facially (so far) but I must be true to my standards and it will certianly help me out with saving for NYC Dolpa (which has been a fail recently). I have bought 3 dolls this year already and it is not even March.....

 

Finally!! Okita is SO awesome!! They did a great job making him looking older, but still retain the feeling of the younger Okita. I'd buy him but I'd want to make him into a girl.....that's too much work to do a split...

I do like normal skin Alice/Lorina though, somehow she seems cuter in ns.

I'm feeling better now. I was worried Volks would release something irresistible for my birthday and nix my FCS plans.

The dolls are nice but I can resist (Lorina is tempting though) I hope those who really want are able to get one.

Little Lorina is so pretty. I was dreming of Alice and I don´t mind if she isn´t all in Alice in Wonderland theme and in white skin.
I was hoping for an cute SD10 girl but my wallet will be happy if I bring a smaller but also very cute "piece of resin" home. ^_^. Well... hopefully.

 

Hmmm, I'm a little safe. Lorina just looks like a Yo-Suiseiseki to me, so I don't care too much for her. And I tend not to like SwD sculpts, so I'm safe from white rabbit.

I'm a bit annoyed that Volks didn't release any big resin girls this event, but oh well! The boys both look promising. Fortunately, I already have an SD17 here and a Minoru on the way, so there isn't the urge to buy them just for the bodies or anything.

When better pictures come out, I might have to look into getting one of the boys. The pictures right now don't really show much about either of them, so I can't tell if they have any of my "dealbreaker" flaws or not. Either way, I probably won't go for Hijikata - just too expensive. Who needs 2 SD17 anyway?!!

(The answer: someone with a tall girl, like a Unon...which is on the way to my house...now that I've said this, he'll probably be the one I go for. UGH!)

Okita seems really lovely, though... bah.

 

gloombox~ Her eyes remind me of Ran's but her lips look slightly similar to that of Luna/Suiseiseki.

I wish they'd release some more SD10 girls. But I guess since they already re-released SwD Nana we won't see any girls soon.

I think I prefer old baby-faced Okita, but I do like that they made a new Okita too because this one matches Hijikata's style/proportions more... so they will look good as a couple! /evil fangirl laugh

And gosh all this talk of the NY Dolpa almost makes me glad there's no way I could attend it. My poor wallet might spontaneously combust just thinking about NY Dolpa and this Dolpa.

 

I really like both Okita and Hijikata..they are both anime characters in Gintama..much love for them. And Lorina is so cute and aborable with those fat cheeks. I would love to get her dress and wig. I can't wait to see the outfits!

Wow, I am in love with Lorina! I'm not 100% positive that she has the same face mold as Alice though... with the grainy Lorina pic and dissimilar angle it's difficult to be certain. However, if you go to Angel Den, Alice's page has a pic on the very bottom that shows Alice, the Rabbit, and Lorina all together. The chin, lips, and eyes of the two girls seem pretty different to me.

I think it is going to be hard to resist adding this adorable Yo to my doll family~

 

I dunno, I think they look like they are the same mold, though now that you say it I cannot be certain. However, for now I will go with they are the same.

 

Okita Souji may make a good big brother for my Ryu, hmm...

OMG - They're Killing Me!

The Flower Blooming Forest and Lavender Pink Frill are must haves! So is Spring White Cardigan, if it fits MSDs!

I might want Lillibell (?) Lady, too. It looks like a light summer version of 2008 Kira's default outfit!

The White Royal Tuxedo, Ivory Lace Slip, and Flower Rain look like they're for SD17/SD16 but I need those, too! And new bodies to go with them!
