I am so exited to know something about the dolls to be released.
I´d love to see a cute SD10 girl like Kurumi maybe...I guess this will stay a dream.

 

I can't wait to see what volks has for this time. I hope it isn't anything I want.

I'm so excited to hear what will be released at this Kyoto Dolpa! For some reason I'm expecting something wonderful lol. I always have very high expectations of the Kyoto Dolpas and am very rarely disappointed!

 

If Volks releases Hijikata...I am not sure I can resist.

I've been checking every day to see if guidebooks are on sale. I hope there are beautiful dolls released, but none that I want to own because I want to shop in the vendors hall. Haha.

 

Yay another dolpa! I am really hoping for an adorable MSD or SDC. Of course I am still trying to recover from the last dolpa and trying to save for the NYC dolpa. Oh well, I will just have to wait and see what beauties are released. Maybe they will release some awesome outfits and shoes too

 

oh no...if they release Hijikata, i'll have to sell a kidney.
i've been good about resisting the recent Volks LE releases...

OMG!!!!! I was wishing so much for Toshizo Hijikata for so long! Oh nooooo, all my doll plans for this year will be ruined if this wish comes true!

 

I found a larger version of that little photo (reposted to my Photobucket, not hotlinked). Does "Oni" mean anything to anyone? It is a part of the original filename.

 

Oni means "devil" - he's wearing an oni mask . . . hang on, wasn't Hijikata called an oni?

ETA: The blog entry even refers to "Oni no fukuchou" and how he was coming soon - IIRC, that was what Hijikata was called. Doooooood.

 

Please have a look at the small b/w picture of Hijikata at Wikipedia - his clothes really look like the doll teaser! I' so sure he will be Toshizo!!!

As I do not know Japanese... that info now makes much more sense. And, YES, that Wiki photo pretty much proves it. I am so screwed...again.

 

The oni mask on Hijikata? is making a reference to Setsubun Festival, which was on February 3. The other pictures on the webpage (the two Yo SDs with masks, surrounded by soybeans) also show a Setsubun theme.

 

im pretty sure that the doll in question is Hijikata...the next Kyoto Dolpa Shinsengumi boy to follow Okita.

im curious why he's being played up as an oni (ogre/monster)
do they mean to release him as an SD17, that is, taller than Okita?
But in historical descriptions, Hijikata was shorter than the other Shinsengumis but with the temper of an oni.

Can anyone estimate from the picture whether Hijikata will be an SD13 or SD17?

 

Because he was called as the "devil" deputy leader of Shinsengumi. That model looks like Ryoya on SDGr body personally...

 

I've been itching to see what will be released at the Dolpa! This is the first time I get to go, so I really hope there'll be a little somethin/someone I'll want to bring home with me! :3 I got my bill for the special Alice items for the event the day before...why haven't they told me what OTHER things I get to spend my hard earned yens on? XD Hurry up, Volks! We're all aflutter here!

 

Here is the guide book for Kyoto Dolpa 7. Well...according to the title and the flag of Shinsengumi as the background, i'm pretty sure that Hijikata Toshizō is coming...
Hope he is a SD17!

 

Oh my, I'd hoped for a Hijikata eventually, after they released Okita, but never thought it'd happen. I'm very interested to see if they do! I'd prefer SD17 if they made one, but that little teaser looks more like SDGr to me.

 

It would be so wonderful if Volks released shinsengumi uniforms! The Kyoto Dolpas always have the coolest stuff.

I do not think the guide book has been shipped out yet (or even gone on sale). We will most likely see images from cell phone sneak peeks first (I would guess within the next week or two) ^_^

I went ahead and posted a "how to" link in the news thread (not sure if it will be deleted or not) but I am gonna post it here too since we always get so many questions about how to participate in a dolpa (I know it was really helpful the last couple dolpas, so I hope it will help this time too). ^_^

Hijikata Toshizō!?
OMG, if that's really it I'm so doomed! I have some dolls that I've made Shinsegumi characters (Souji Okita, Hajime Saitou and Susumu Yamazaki 'till now) and I'd really be glad (and desperate) if they made Hijikata. Especially with those clothes. I hope he's SD17 because I really love their bodies, but at the same time he'll be so expensive if that's the case...

I can't wait to see new pictures. And if someone is going to Kyoto Dolpa and doesn't want to try and get him... I REALLY could use some help. T_T'

Well, it says "Oni no Fukuchou" is coming. Since "Fukucho" means Second in command or leader, so I am pretty sure its gonna be a Hijikata Toshizo. If Okita was with SD13 body, I think Hijikata should be with SD 17 body.

Oh yay, guidebooks! I have a question, for those who have been to Dolpa before. If you leave the convention hall in the middle of the day, you can show your guidebook and come back in right? I'm unsure if I want to order the bento or not. I'm thinking I might go out or pack a lunch instead.

 

Oh no! I just got a hefty tax refund in and was soooo proud that I didn't want any dolls with it...ehem. Damn you Volks! :P

 

You can leave. There's a restaurant in the convention center. The waitresses politely ignored our dolls when we went, and we had no trouble getting back in.

 

Yes, you can, as long as you have your guidebook. It's generally more convenient to have a packed lunch with you or get a bentou, IMO. Then you can just find yourself a space and take a rest ^^;. Dolpas are long and tiring!

Oh, and it looks like you can start reserving guidebooks now, but they don't go on sale until the 20th.

Oh my. The only Shinsengumi member I would want more is Saitou Hajime.

I'm crossing my fingers for regular SD13. SD17s are way too expensive and too large for me.

I hate Volks, I really do, they're my total ruin. My wallet is crying and I've just seen this spoiler, I'd rather have a Hijitaka than a Saito, but now I'm terribly expectant, I hope he is SD17 or Graffitti

 

Oh man... for the first time in my life, I was *actually* angling for a girl release... and all arrows point to a fantastic boy! Hello irony! Personally... I would be happy if they released the speculated Hijikata as an SD17. It feels like it's been a while since they've come out with a new SD17 boy. ( Williams doesn't count - he was a re-release. ) But maybe I'm just crazy like that. *sits tight and waits for more news*

But reading the titles, there will be more Shinsengumi Samurai as One Off!!!! Yay one off Ookita!!! Me so want to see. I wonder if they will dress up other dolls in Shinsengumi outfits as well.

Shinsengumi one-offs? How bad is it that I would love Harada Sanosuke with his failed seppuku scars? Or ninjafied Yamazaki Susumu?

I'm still a little sad that Okita wasn't more tragic looking, what with his tuberculosis and all.

Yep. Never have been inclined to go through the angst of this process up to now but. Phew. If nothing else, the costume has me dead on the floor. Want bad.

 

But, he was rather tragic looking. He looked like someone kicked his puppy... over and over again.

 

Indeed that was the reason why I did not go for Ookita. He really looked too young and too much like a poor boy who had someone kicked his puppy over and over again. I love Ookita but I wanted an older Ookita - more like in his late teens or early twenties....

 

But it was still rather cute, as opposed to hardened killer dying of the consumption.

The dollfie dreams where revealed at Wonder Festival, they will be Yui and Mio from K-On. While I'm not a fan of the anime, the preview pics are looking quite cute.
