Kyoto Dolpa 7 (March 14, 2010)

Aww Mio And Yui! How cute! I love K-on! Part of me is going to die laughing if Mio comes with a blue and white striped pair of panties.

 

I know Timid already answered this, but just wanted to add, if you've not been Kyoto Pulse Plaza itself...

It's sort... not near anything else. ^^;;; The nearest combini is not all that near if I remember correctly and I don't really remember a lot of restaurants nearby. It was an odd location in Kyoto (to me) and sort of a pain to get to, as you either had to walk 10-15 mins from the station, wait for and pay for a bus, or use a cab.

Not that Big Sight has a lot of places around it, but even Big Sight has a much better selection of places to go.

If you like Japanese bentos you can sign up for one through the guidebook that Volks will provide. I've never done so myself as I am a vegetarian.

 

I think Mio must come with the blue and white striped pair of panties! XD
Or like when they release Tamane, the blue and white striped underwear set is available for sell to those who have ordered the doll.

Are they just announcing the Dolpa? There is a chance, but just based off that photo I don't think they're to be taken as Dolpa dolls. Those are old Yo outfits that have already been released, and they do use dolls of various sorts for their blog photostories.

 

I'm really glad they are doing more with the Shinsengumi! I looooved Okita Souji, but it's awesome to see more

 

I doubt these are the Yo to be released. These were pictures Volks Blog put up for the Setsubun holiday. So these are not teaser pic

 

Ok. joining the thread. I have been stalking you guys for the past few days. Oh I soooooooooooo can't wait for the photos go up for the new dolls. I hope they have a pretty girl otw.

Oh I am in trooooouble. I want the Mio. I've been wishing they would release a Mio... just not so soon. Wow...

 

The only doll I'd hope for is an SD13 Williams but I know that's wishful thinkilng.

Still, I'm really looking forward to the new dolls! I agree that the outfit looks like Hijikata's and I'm really interested in getting it and an updated body for one of my boys. I can't wait for him to take his mask off so I can see his face!

Hijikata is not a big guy though. I think perhaps he is SDGR XD The head looks like SDGR size ><

SD16 boy is unlikely because ever since DZ copied the SD16 body back in the day, Volks immediately discontinued SD16.

As for Williams there's usually a Williams one-off at each Dolpa so there will probably be one as well. I have heard there's been SD17 Williams one-offs at some sumikas in the past before the SD17 Williams was released from the last cruise?

 

Oh man, is that why? I could never figure out why that one was never released again.

 

That is what I always though as well. It just seemed to make sense. Although, it has been a few years, maybe they will decide to release a SD16 boy again, but with all the SD17 they have released I kind of feel like that is their replacement for the SD16. We can always keep hoping though!

At the first NY Dolpa, when Olivia was released, someone close to the Volks employees told me that Yukinojo would possibly be the only SD16 boy, ever, because of all the work that went into the doll and how difficult he was to cast.
Perhaps his bulging muscles broke the molds?

I am crossing my fingers like everyone else is (even though my wallet is crying) for an SD17 release this time around! If Hijikata is another SDGr, then that's 3 releases for this body in a row! That outfit looks amazing though!

Wow! I always thought the SD16 boy body just wasn't popular and that's why Volks switched to the SD17.

I hope Hijikata's not on the SDGR body, personally. SD17 may not make sense historically but maybe Volks can fudge a little.

 

Behind that oni mask he looks an awful lot like Ryoya - and I would certainly expect them to make another SDGr, since it's a new body, & Volks seem so proud of it. (Rightly so - it's lovely. ^.^) And if Shinsengumi Dude is supposed to be a small delicate guy, then there you go.

Aside from whatever he turns out to be, what *I'm* hoping for in this Dolpa is a release of some SDGr sized wigs. Tiny wigs for tiny heads. Even DD wigs swallow up Ryoya's face. Volks have proven they can make gorgeous, small-sized, short-cut boy wigs for narrow faces... if they want to.... So now, if they'd just start making those wigs standard...!

But later, at yet ANOTHER Dolpa (one of the LA ones), when pressed with the question "Will there ever be another SD16B?", Volks's answer was "No, we like that body, we haven't discontinued it".... Which, as we know, could mean bloody well anything. They're probably still just being cagey about swearing to anything, so they can reserve the option to start making him again if they want.

 

And the right to be as hard-punching on our wallets as they can. :F

Yukinojo did sell out at the Dolpa and at first at the AE, but then came in and out of stock on-line for a bit.

It's like... no matter how much you (the general you, this is not directed at anyone in particular) like SD-13 Eden, the fact it took him a while to sell out means he's not likely to be re-released any time too soon.

 

Actually, I'd be happy for anything EXCEPT a SD17, but only because I have a great weakness for them lately and I was hoping to be able to take this Dolpa "off" from buying.

 

I gotta agree!!! I am trying to save up for Dolpa NYC this year in the hope they release something I just cannot live without!

 

OMG, I can relate! Minoru just showed up on Volks USA, and it took all I had to hold off from pressing that buy button. *cries*

 

Luckily nothing Volks has had for about 3 Dolpas has interested me in the least and I'm hoping to make it 4 for 4. I don't have any money for one and I have finally resolved to buy one of my floating heads a body!

 

All this waiting is driving me nuts... I need to see Hijikata and see if I'll be having to scour Y!J immediately after the Dolpa! ;_;

I'm not sure what I'd like from Volks right now... other than a female body BETWEEN SD13 and SD16 (assets like that do NOT happen in three years without surgery! XD ). Like an equivalent of Graffiti for girls. That would just be lovely.

I'd also like them to stop giving every single female sculpt that "duck lips" type mouth... It's the reason I didn't buy Rinon or SD16 Kira.

 

LOL! I'm not a fan of the "duck lips" either. I think the newer girls are cute but I've had no interest in owning any.

I would also LOVE an updated SD13 girl body! I wish my girl had the SD16's high collarbone and delicate hands and was just a little slimmer, without being any taller.

 

I am so hoping for a new and exciting SD 16 girl... 16 girl, 16 girl, 16 girl...

 

I would really like the SD13 large breast FCS torso (though I prefer them to release it in a non-joined version or one with a slightly curvier mid section) with the SD13 girl feet and legs. I always felt it was more grown up than a regular SD13, but not as "model" like as an SD16. Perhaps they will release a limited or new girl body with similar attributes. I would be pretty happy with that ^_^

 

I would like a cute SD10, 13, or 16 girl. A sculpt not related to the 4 sisters!

 

A SD10 girl would be so great. I hope there will be an after event...

 

Um, that was speculated by lots of people but never proven. I suspect Volks has enough pull to have done something about that if they thought it had been copied. Oh and the DZ body really doesn't pose all that well

Surely Volks will have one off for each member of Shinsengumi,
just as what they did when they release Okita~

 

For every Dolpa, Volks does host an afterevent for those who could not attend. Unless the LE Doll is a licensed doll, the dolls and the outfits will be available in the After Event. We will find out about the dates when the guidebooks are released.

 

I love the DD K-On's but I kind of wish they would have been in MDD size instead.. =/

 

It may never have been officially proven, but there are enough individuals who have come to their own conclusions about the issue and believe it to be a point towards some possible reason why SD16 boys were seemingly discontinued.



But, this is neither the time nor the place to discuss this.

Hoping for more Sd17 bodies to add to the market!

Oooooh, this. So totally and utterly this. I've been pining after that body since it was released! I'm really sitting on my hands for this one. I hope there isn't anything "perfect" in their new line up for me, or else I'll have to do my typical post-dolpa scour or Y!Japan and hope to win the lottery or something! Lol.

 

I can't wait until volks releases the cell phone pictures And I want to see what outfits are going to offered!

I would love some new outfits, shoes, and wigs! I also would love some cute accessories too, I always did like their Jewel Box pieces ^_^

Oh, and I was thinking about a girl body in between the SD13 and SD16 and I think a body similar to the Unoss with a little more height be perfect! I would just really love a new girl body (girl gravity be awesome). I have been thinking about all the cool girl bodies they could release since I read the posts about it yesterday. *sigh* I will probably have to keep dreaming about it and hope they do not release one though as I really need to stick to accessories only for this dolpa lol.

 

I also am hoping to save up for the June Dolpa! Yet I want to see a doll I can't resist now? What is wrong with me?

I did not realize how long it had been since Volks released an SD16 boy? Not my cup of tea personally but for all of you waiting on one to be released again I am crossing my fingers for you. That way you get what you want and I am not tempted to buy a doll myself HAHAHA. But seriously they are lovely bodies

I dont think so, I was just guessing that he was Hijikata.

Actually no, but everything points to it: the Shinsengumi flag on the folder of the guidebook, the clothes identical to the historical photos of Hijikata Toshizou, and the line "Oni no Fukuchou is comming" (refering to his title/nickname?).

I'm personally very anxious to see more of him. I'm pretty sure he'll be awesome.

Just wondering ... but how many dolls on average does Volks release per Dolpa or say in the last couple of years? I think they've always released a girl(s) doll each time? Maybe this time around, they're release some MSDs? And a bet we get some Yo's this time.

I would also love (as it was mentioned earlier) for Volks to release some SDGr sized wigs for Ryoya's pea head and some SDGr clothing would be nice too! But the shoes klll me every time ... My dolls have more shoes than I do!

 

They released 2 yos for the last dolpa and an msd in august and 2 sdc last may? So my guess is that it is up in the air. The 2 yos from the last dolpa are available for preorder on Volks website if you are interested in them ^_^ There will probably be a big girl, a big boy, and either a mini (sdc/msd) or yo size. But that is just my guess ^_^

Here's something else to add to this discussion. When I was at the BTSSB opening in August I had one of my dolls in BTSSB with me. Turns out that BTSSB mentioned this to Volks. I found out about this after speaking to Mikey at the SD Workshop in November. So I'm hoping for more BTSSB releases soon. When Okita was released, we also got a few BTSSB collaborations as well. So maybe...

 

BTSSB Collabs would be awesome!
... Though I might not be able to go for Hijikata AND the collab. Oh well... I'd love to see some, anyway! Also, some clothes for SD17 would be nice... and boots, maybe? That might sound weird, but I really like Volks' boots... ;-;'
