Nimbusdrake and I decided to wear a traditional Korean dress (Hanbok) for the Closing Dinner. It really moved me that Ms. Cholong was so thrilled to see us in it we love you Ms. Cholong. Thank you for everything you have done for us in the Doll Community.
chobi, thank you for the great pictures, I enjoy them too! And I agree with you about your favourite pair, those outfits.... are just so cool!!! AromaSeth, very nice! But no picture of both of you in full height in traditional Korean dress?
So I was obsessed with shopping in the exhibit hall and only snapped some hurried pictures with my ancient point-and-shoot which cannot take any decent indoor photo without flashing. Thank goodness for Photoshop! Here are my much edited pics. Lol. Super handsome guys from BNBDOLL: IpChun, DaeHan, & IpChun on Youth 16 bodies. Why the hell didn't I buy one of these guys??? Crobidoll Lance! I'm with you April. Should have taken this boy home! My favorite little guy, Crobidoll E-line Lance! Left-to-right: Crobidolls Heena, Boni, Juno's legs, and Hana. Heena was very lovely and Hana is the sweetest thing. I might have to get her as a friend for my E-line Lance one of these days! I also like Boni. She has quite an attitude. Crobidoll Juno on a temptation body. She was just stunning! Can anyone tell I favor Crobidolls? Finally, on to other dolls! XtremeDolls be with you... doll These guys look like they were amazing posers. They also have this nifty eye mechanism where you can move the direction of their eyes. I am definitely keeping an eye on this company!
Migidoll's limited edition River head Looking good, River! Migidoll's display was just so cute! One of Bo Bergemann's cuties
Wow! Thank you for all of the lovely pictures, Pixie-Pan! I especially love all of the Crobidoll images. It's wonderful to see Heena and Juno especially - seeing as Heena owner pictures are difficult to find in the wild and Juno dolls haven't arrived to their owners yet I believe! I appreciate everyone adding all their pictures here. It's so exciting to see all of the different dolls up close and from different angles. It almost feels like I'm there.
I don't think they seem that interested in making any regular C-line or T-line dolls at this time. Especially since they brought a representative from each of the other four lines. But this mysterious 76cm G-line looks interesting! I wonder if it'll be an all male line.
Yeah, I asked for more T-line as well. The G-Line will be released for Crobi Doll's 6th anniversary, or so I heard. I think the boy with the most votes will be released. I heard from the staff that Ethan was the most popular so far.
Yeah--the Sellers room closed WAY too early to my mind--but there was going to be some sort of other event there and they couldn't get it for longer (we were all walking through their event with dolls for a while). I hope that the companies will decide to NOT limit the heads and dolls just to the KBJDshow and offer different versions, maybe, on their sites, so people with second-thoughts and those who couldn't come might have a chance... I hope people will write to them with requests, so they will know which dolls and heads are popular. Well... the One-offs shouldn't have been in my budget, either. but I couldn't help it... I was staring at them through both banquets and in the seller's room and it was driving me crazy. I thought I'd be sensible and resist buying any dolls at all--but I'm just WEAK in will-power and sense when it comes to dolls. (although... still happy I have them!) The Migidoll translator was a GREAT seller. Not hard-core, just really friendly and enthusiastic and seemed to really know the dolls! He's the one who won the gorgeous Little Monica doll at the Closing Banquet and who asked me about maybe joining Den of Angels when I was looking at their booth. I thought it was great that he put in for the raffle for the Little Monica doll and that he won! I know--both of those dolls were just to-die-for. I knew others were really wanting them--and I know who ended up with them--so I kept myself out of the running for them from day one (their table was already full and I didn't try to get onto it). I knew there were too many other tempting dolls, so it didn't bother me at all! I'm glad they went to a good home, too! SO many dolls given away!!!! Crazy! --Bo Bergemann's panel was fun. I LOVED those candies she was passing around! So sweet of her to give away a doll. It was interesting to hear about her making her dolls all so individual. Just: wow. That photo space was just adorable!!!! Loved it so much! You both looked fantastic!!! Thanks for posting your photos! Pixie-Pan-- LOVED your photos and your very helpful captions! I'm terrible with all the model names, so it's great to see what doll is what. Congrats!!! I voted for the one in the suit on the Right... Which one was he? That body looked really, really NICE in a suit. Some muscle boys look too bulky, but these guys have that wonderful slim waist and hips but with wide shoulders--perfect for lots styles. --Definitely different from the Iplehouse boys, and although I don't think of muscle-bodies and Crobi together, they did go with their style of dolls very nicely.
Woooow! Thanks so much everyone for pics)) It was very interesting! Special thanks for PeaksWoods doll's pics
Yes! they were very tempting weren't they? lol I'm glad they were able to go to such good homes and we can admire them on DOA i just meant personally, i did not have the funds to make the purchase even if i really really really wanted to (my credit card is already near its max) but boy were those one offs extremely tempting.. I actually was interested in Migidoll's pumpkin king jack:< but alas.. i did not have the funds enough to even try to get it. Did anyone here purchase him? /sigh being broke sucks lol i am however now saving up for Mir with that cute little tan jacket xD so many beautiful dolls the more i look at pictures the more i find dolls i wish i had tried to buy.. oh boy.
Wow, awesome picture Amoraseth! I see that OOAK dolly in the pink Hello Kitty sweater outfit!! xD;; And, ugh, I am super mega obsessed and in love with BNBDoll. I have Daehan and Ipchun. Ahhh! *3* Does anyone know if they will be selling the bodies on their website? I need another body for one of my guys, and I didn't see bodies on their website. Staria-- Great photos! I was just going to ask if someone had some close-ups of the Be With You boys... I was looking on the website and was wondering which makeup matched the ones that were displayed... NOT that I'm going to buy... But... *whimper* ... just looking... Oh--great shot of BNB's Elf (Thranduil from the Hobbit) at the Opening Dinner. That throne in the other picture actually went with the doll, which was just amazing! (And in that photo with the throne--those are my two dolls to the right-- Soom Beast fullset and 2004 CP/Luts Delf Elf Lishe wearing HauteDoll/Val Zeitler/DollHeart Young Marie Antoinette dress. ... sort of going with a movie theme, but not really, since the looks don't match at all with any B&B film...) BNB--I noticed that they didn't have any bodies on their website. I hope they will offer bodies. I asked at their booth if they had bodies-only for sale (since I now have HEADS--like 3 of them!!! --because I did the Faceup Workshop, and then got a special prize of a faceupped head, and sat at their table where they gave up the faceup kits AND heads as gifts!!!!-- worth around $200 which was just crazy!), and they did not sell them alone at the booth. I don't know if they will sell bodies through their website. I hope so. Maybe I should ask in an email. --Their site doesn't look very up-dated. They didn't mention being at the KBJD Show... Last News post was from a while back. Edit: Just joined the BNB site. A little confusing since so much was in Korean... but not hard to figure out. I asked on the Q&A board if they will be selling bodies! The companies were all so generous... Seriously! ------------------------------- ...everybody took such great photos! All of mine were totally out of focus. Hey, we need the Crobi ladies back in So. Cal. with their rain!!! Geesh. Question --Does anyone know their names? I'm terrible with names and didn't write them down and hate to keep calling them the Crobi people!
Here is the head i wanted to buy but was unable to. And the cutie migidoll raffle boy :3 sorry for the horrible phone camera photos -_-;
Shirayuki-- That is a lovely head--love the faceup, too. Are they available on their website? --The Raffle boy was just adorable. Staria - yay! SOMEONE did get a picture of Thranduil! he's the one I would have gone for if I'd been at the opening dinner I didn't see him the next day - so I guess someone snapped him up. Anyone have more pictures of him?
I'm not sure i'm wondering if someone snatched him up at the con, or if they are selling him on the website. they did not have a name of the sculpt so im not sure which he is.. i think maybe he is Mu ? i'm not sure T__T and yes the raffle boy is sooo cute i just love him to pieces after extensive digging im almost 100% sure he is Migidoll M-cute Mir. i may just talk with migidoll and hope they are still available! those eyes are so pretty! i actually really like them in a doll more than i did just by themselves.. i'll have to check out their website..
Yes, he was purchased the night of the Opening Banquet. They also got that lovely throne that was shown in one of the photos... And the crown that wasn't in the original photos and originally wasn't supposed to go with the doll, but really made the whole outfit, I think. He was definitely a great doll! The Oscar Doll eyes are very pretty in a doll--they really pick up light well. I didn't think I'd like that so much, but now I really think they're wonderful!
I wouldn't be surprised. Crobi's larger doll lines are all boys, except they recently started adding girls to their M-line. I totally missed the whole voting thing while I was there. I was just running here and there and didn't stop to read their notice. It wasn't until I was looking through my pictures that I finally read their voting info. There was just too much to see and do at the show. It was crazy, but so much fun! Congratulations! That's so wonderful! I regret not bringing home a doll, especially Lance. There were so many gorgeous dolls, it was overwhelming and hard to choose. Yes, there was much agonizing over what to buy and what not to buy. Lol. That would be this guy, but I didn't catch his name though: Those look so nice in your dolls! I really wished I had picked up some of those eyes. I'll try to buy them online, but it would have been more fun to pick them out in person since each one is so unique.
Anneke actually got him! I had a couple more pictures I took on my phone, that I uploaded on the KBJD Show Facebook.
I joined, as well and sent them an email inquiring about the bodies yesterday. I really do hope they will sell the bodies seperately, as I need one for my guy and their bodies are pretty amazing. Would hate to put him on another company's body, when they have such good ones. Wow, which sculpts did you end up with?!
These photos are incredible! Thank you so much for having taken the time to share on the behalf of all of us. I, too share your thoughts on Migidoll's River. Quite attractive, indeed.
Plus, the bodies they used on the website were SD17, which aren't inexpensive or easy to find! Personally, I like to stick with the same-company bodies. Not that I have anything against hybrids... I'm just cool with going with the company's style for dolls and I know the resin color will be as close to matching as possible and also the fit--with no modding required. (I'm lazy! I admit it!) BNB Heads... Well, I was one of the few who paid the full price for the Faceup Workshop, so I got the faceup kit (brushes, paints, pastels, paper palette, magic eraser --Very nice stuff!), and choice of head. I picked Daehan. We didn't actually get to paint ourselves, so it's a pristine head, in cute little box with chop and fine-print label on the bottom and signed certificate. Then, I won some tiny practice heads at the Workshop. And then Ms Cholong wanted me to get something for paying for the workshop--but really, I got the head and kit and all! But she got Nornen to give me a faceup-upped Ip Chun head which was one of the special prizes from the Workshop. And I got some gifts hand-painted by Nornen. And then I ended up sitting at the BNB Table for the Closing Banquet and they ended up giving out the extra Workshop Heads and Kits along with the planned gift. So I got another blank head (Ip Chun) and another faceup kit!!! AND then I ended up buying the BNB ONe-Off White Tiger--so now I have two blank BNB heads (one of each), a faceupped BNB head, and a full doll! Here are the three heads-- mostly wrapped up--and the small practice heads... with signed certificates-- 14-04-KBJDShow_6833_heads-gifts by aprilllee, on Flickr ...you can see why I need to get this lovely faceupped head a body! ... although... I can wait. Need to build up my depleted bank account!
WOOOOOW! Nice haul! xD;; Seems you and me definitely need to save up and snag some BNB boy bodies soon, though! xD;; You and me both, tho. Haha! :P EDIT: So I found this info on the blog: http://blog.naver.com/bnbdoll/130189978786 It looks like it was JUST released, around the time of the KBJD Show. This is the body that I got, so I'm thinking they might be offering it on their website sometime soon. :OOO
Hey Staria! Thanks for the lovely pictures! I took none, and now I can show my family what took Mom away for a couple of days!( My Migidoll Miu is the fox girl in embroidered wool felt). I was at the Migidoll table sitting by cute Chris the interpreter (he couldn't stop exclaiming over how adorable your little one looked eating mashed potatoes! ) And Hi April! We sat together at the sculpting workshop, and you were doing so well I wanted to cheat off of you! My family is now the lucky guardian of King Sejong, who will be a cherished heirloom. So glad you got some truly unique beauties!
I am loving all of these photos! I am super interested in the base head kit. I wonder if you can buy something like that outside of a con?
YAY! I am SO glad you took King Sejong home! He was GORGEOUS. Chris was so cute. He was so shy around the baby, haah!
There were a number of new releases or samples of new releases at the Show. So cool! I hope BNB will update their website soon, so I know what to save up for! Yes, I thought that was you (people were mentioning your lovely fox-girl in earlier posts). Heh. Cheating off me would be easy. I mostly just had a thin layer of clay over the base-head, so it was mostly that showing through! I don't do much sculpting, but I have had sculpting classes, have a BFA, did 3D modeling (digitally) as a job, etc., so I wasn't starting from scratch (particularly with that head-base to start off from!). Now, whether I could actually finish off the fine details--that's the big question! The nose on my head was pretty darn uneven when I had to stop. That workshop was the most fun I've had in ages, though. It was kind of zen pushing that clay around on that base-form... And it was fantastic chatting with you! Hopefully we'll run into each other again at some dollie events. I hope Be With You Dolls / Mr. YG will have them on his website, because he definitely had extra heads and sculpting kits (with clay, pretty much all you need except for his secret tool: the credit card! Which really did work!!!). I'll try and figure out the Q&A board there and write a request--because I had friends who were interested in those, too. I have to tell you, it made for a REALLY easy way to get into head-sculpting for a beginner or a someone much more experienced! That's why I just had to take that class! It looked like a lot of fun and it was! I actually picked up a couple of kits from Mr. YG... My friends have first dibs, but if they don't want, I may sell them. They were $50 with the 2 hour class. He sold me the extra kits for $130. And there was a hand-made tool in there, along with a customizable chopstick! --a very nice chopstick, mind you!. And two nice metal tools. And a brick of special clay. we were all asking where we could buy more (it's re-usable, but still only lasts so long before pieces start getting lost or you actually need to save it for casting a head, maybe), and it is made by a Korean company that wasn't selling online. SO ... lots of stuff in that kit that you really can't get anywhere else! ----EDIT--OOOP! $150 for the Class and Kit--not $50. Sorry!!!!
I really, really wanted the red haired Peak's Woods girl in the schoolgirl outfit (Segi?), and I haven't wanted a larger girl in years. If I could have taken her home I would have bought her then and there. As it was, I came home with the little Hana girl from Crobi, one of the Peak's Woods barista boys, a Daisy Dayes centaur from Jpop, and a full doll plus two heads and a body from YG of Be With You. Far more resin than I'd expected to adopt, but the opportunity was too great to resist. I expect to be adopting another Be With You girl and a Migidoll Yo size in the not-too-distant future. Yes, we all had to be out of there within an hour because there was a wedding that was starting setup at 3. Considering we were open until 11pm the night before, it did seem rather early to break down. Everything got moved into another room, and vendors packed up in there..we helped a couple of them when we were finished, but some of the companies were still there packing at 1:30am. The translators were awesome...I really liked YG's translator, Brian. He was a ton of fun. I was glad to see the Migidoll translator win the doll, he was so excited. They were packed from the moment the door opened....I wouldn't be surprised if they were the most popular seller there. At one point there were two layers of people trying to buy eyes. The reps were very nice as well, we really enjoyed talking to them. April, are those practice heads Yo size? I didn't see any Yo kids at the BNB booth
Wow wow wow! So many beautiful dolls! I loved the Gone with the Wind set. Thank you for taking so many nice pictures everyone. It really is a shame about ms.Cholong but if she is making the change for something that is better for her then we should be happy for her. The last time I saw her was at Bruce's convention when she was vending for doll heart and ruby red but putting together a convention is a lot of hard work! I wish her well in her future.
She was really, really cute! Not my style, usually, but I probably would have bought her if she was available, too! I wonder how limited they will be when they go up for sale? And did I hear correctly--are they the same head-sculpt, the boy and the girl??? I didn't think so... but faceups and wigs and outfits and bodies can really change how a head sculpt looks... Cool that you got so many cuties! Be With You was selling heads and bodies separately? That's nice! On his webite, the tinies are all marked as Sold Out. Do you know if he's just temporarily out of stock or if they were limited? I'm mostly just curious. If I were going to get a Be With You, I'd go for the big guy. I saw Pam over there comparing them to her EID. I think she said she liked the body but preferred a more mature head... Yikes! That's a short break-down! I hope everyone managed to get done and get some sleep! The early hours for the Seller's Room had to have been tough on getting much sleep! I went by the room after the Banquet, since BNB needed to pack up my guy (I caved and got the White Tiger boy at my table). It looked VERY busy in that room! And YG of Be With You was so nice and came back to the Sculpting Workshop after the Banquet to teach us a bit more! I hope he wasn't one of the last people to get packed up. It really was so nice of him to stay to teach a bit more to us. I was getting pretty tired during and after the banquet myself, and I didn't have to get up so early to man tables! The translators really did an amazing job! They really got caught up in the various companies they were translating for--it was like they were working for the company themselves, not only translating. It was very sweet! I guess they had to sort of sell the dolls, since they were communicating directly to the customers... but they really looked like they enjoyed it. The Migidoll guy definitely was into the dolls. And YG's translator was very good at talking about the dolls, too. The Oscar Dolls guy was fairly quiet, but seemed very nice. The translator was very talkative and friendly. I'm glad their table did well. And traveling with eyes that aren't so expensive to ship around, hopefully they made some profit! With the other companies... I really hope they weren't left in the hole. Those dolls are heavy and take a lot of shipping costs...! (I had the feeling people were being a bit too optimistic about the numbers who would attend!) I'm not exactly sure! It is actually a head with faceplate and a second faceplate... attaching with magnets... head around 7"... BUT-- it has a neck attached to the back of the head, so I'm not sure what body it would fit!!! (Do you want them??? I don't need tiny heads.) ---- I did a Box Opening for my Gone with the Wing CrobiDoll Girl-- http://www.denofangels.com/forums/s...iDoll-Sinbi-Limited-M-Line-quot-Scarlett-quot
Hmmm... you mean one of these guys? 14-04-KBJDShow_6576a by aprilllee, on Flickr If so-- Big guy is an Iplehouse EID Rex with an SID Theo, both in Light Brown skin.
Can I show off my fella? I restrung him and put in some temporary eyes/wig, until I could shop for him later! ;D Liam - BNBDOLL IPCHUN by mikuberries, on Flickr He was a very gracious and amazing gift from BNBDoll at the Closing Dinner Party.
I love your pics and would love to have gone. How do you find out where these conventions are going to be held in advance? I wish they would have one in Seattle or Portland.
If you look on DoA and go to the Community tab, there is a forum for Meetups, Conventions and Events. They do have conventions in the Seattle area..... As for the KBJD show, I'm heartbroken I didn't make it back. I totally would have bought that Peakswoods Rogita Blossom black leather gal.......arrghh! It's too bad this was out by the airport and not in town........well, my wallet is happy...
dollhausen--That Peakswoods girl was pretty amazing! I wish you could have made it. But yeah... it is better for your wallet, I SO know how that is! I pretty much have to try not to look at dolls, and I'm actually very, very happy when I see new dolls coming out that I don't have a huge urge to buy. My poor wallet cries if I actually like a doll (or clothes, or eyes, or wigs...!) owka4u--Cons and other events are usually posted in the New section, but those get buried under new posts quickly. The discussions under Meetups and Conventions usually last longer, but those, too, can get buried. You really have to keep an eye out, checking those sections and Doll News sites like BJDCollectasy... It's like looking for certain items in the marketplace... it's easy to miss something! Got to keep an eye out almost all the time... Check out the PNW thing that is being posted about. I've never been, but it sounds good! And it's in your area.
Yes, it's the same sculpt, from what Pan said. I haven't seen it go up, I'm still really tempted to get her. Not technically...YG gave us each a doll head as a table gift at the opening banquet. What an amazing gift! He let me buy a body for her. Pam got one as well, which she gave to me, and she's doing the faceups on both. I'll order a body for that one when I order Strawberry. YG's first website release was only about 25 dolls, if I recall correctly, so once those went he put up the sold out signs. I was too late to order online, but when I found out he was coming to KBJD, I hoped that he'd have some stock here, which he did. That was the one doll I pre-planned to buy...the rest were unexpected stowaways. I imagine Pam will buy one of the bodies, and hybrid it. She's fairly into hybridizing. I can see her using a Minime head for that body. It wasn't really any earlier than we have to be there at most shows...the one odd time was the late night on Friday. Most of the vendors were all still on Korean time...I know that a couple of the companies were in the hall still working until 3-4am some nights. I don't think YG slept the entire show. It was nice that Ms. Cholong allowed them to work in the room that late...I know we don't have that opportunity at most shows. Yep, they were outstanding, and they all seemed to be enjoying the show. She's very lucky she went to get Eugene's hair cut that day.....I guess that's how she met Brian, and he brought in many of the others. Every translator I dealt with was very friendly and willing to go above and beyond. I know that Doll Peddlar took quite a few dolls home with them, so I think that helped. There seemed to be a lot of vendor to vendor sales happening, more than I notice at most shows. I'd heard that there was 150 attendees, and it seemed about that to me. I figured most of the attendees would spend their $$ with the Korean companies, and that was just fine. That was a very rare opportunity. For me, it was far more about the networking. You know me...I'm always interested in tiny stuff. You're coming up to CCBJD, yes? She was so beautiful...I'm glad you got her, so I have a chance to see her in the future.
I'm still see-sawing emotionally. When I initially was planning my trip it was for the KBJD thing and then I found out about the Photo conventions and since I'm trying to build a career as an artist I really need to do the networking. But I had so much fun at that opening dinner that I really wanted to go back and of course, I wanted to see more dolls. The logistics of getting down to that location made it impossible. If it had been in say, Koreatown it would have been a breeze. It also would have been nice to have been able to spend some time meeting people and I'm sad about the Ms. Cholong announcement, I was hoping this would happen next year. Ahh well, I'm starting to plan for LDoll so I guess I'll go meet the European contingent. And of course we have PNW and then Uncanny Dreams as well up here. I guess I'll have to just learn to accept that Peaks Woods Rogita Blossom was The One and I let her get away...sob! Aahh well, it's nothing a few years of therapy won't fix right up......
WOW. I really wish I had known this was going on I would have loved to go! Hopefully they'll do something like this again next year! Thanks for sharing all the pics
She was adorable--particularly with that faceup! I like the freckles. I don't have any freckled dolls yet... I heard PeaksWoods will be going to Dollism Plus US. I wonder if they'll bring a lot of dolls there? (wheee--another chance at blowing all my money!) Wow. Lots of free heads at that con. I ended up with THREE BNB heads aside from the One-Off guy. (They gave them as gifts at their table, too). Oh--that's great that you were able to get one, then! I'd never heard of Be With You before checking them out from the KBJD site... and as I was trying not to buy dolls, I thought I was safe since I don't do (many) tinies and don't do (many) large+ dolls... (but HA... It's hard to get them out of your mind once you see them in person...!) Oh....! I have a Minimee that needs a body!!! Hmmmmm..... Hey, Comic Con doesn't open that early! I know people can come IN early to putter around if you're an Exhibitor, but the room isn't usually open until later. I think GenCon doesn't open their Hall until 10am (except for the special VIP morning, anyway). That seems like a more reasonable time, with Exhibitors getting in an hour before... But that one super-late night! Yeah, that was unusual! I was totally roaming around until it closed, though... Checked out the swap meet briefly and then went right back into the Sellers Room until it closed. I did notice people hanging about until after the room was technically closed... No one was chasing anyone out, that's for sure. Really? I wondered how that was arranged! Lots of tricky logistics with such an event--It was amazing things worked out so well. The only thing that would have been better would have been a lot more people with a lot more desire to buy things. But it is what it is, and from my perspective it was a terrific event (I just felt a bit sad that at both banquets, I was only one of two non-company people at the tables...! ) 150--a bit better than I thought. I was guessing it was more around 100. Also good that Doll Peddler was there. I know that Re-Sellers go to the BJDC to snap up dolls... It's good for the vendors when they are around--and good for those who can't get to the events themselves. Great to hear there was vendor-to-vendor selling. ... If there were more non-locals traveling in, your sales would probably have been stronger, since, new blood and all! Wouldn't matter quite so much where the clothes were made! ... Also... Not a LOT of clothes sold at this con, but I think the dolls and eyes sucked a lot of wallets dry... I would, but I'm heading to MA for a week-long art workshop (with Brian and Wendy Froud! whee!). I was going to go to the BJDC, but might not make that, either. I'll be trying for Dollism. Elf-ears and I will be sharing a room (still need to get airplane tickets... and I need to find my missing passport!). Thanks. I'll definitely have to bring her some meetups/cons... 14-04-KBJDShow-7004 by aprilllee, on Flickr Yeah--it takes a while to get around S. CA... and if you've got other things scheduled, it's tough. LDoll sound like it would be fun! --And it's good that you have some nice doll events in your area. Maybe some companies could be a special guest at them if there's enough people to support that? --Too bad about the 'one that got away'. Sometimes some super-rare dolls pop up on the Marketplace or Ebay... and if not, there are just so many great dolls out there... I'm sure your heart won't be broken forever!
Peakswoods is going to Dollism?! I wish I had someone who can keep an eye out for LE Tristan Vampire...I wanna buy her. D:
It it wasn't them, but my god, they are soo beautiful. I love them, thanks for sharing the doll I saw I found on another thread was the Be With You sculptor
Oh--that pirate was the Jack Sparrow/Pirates of the Caribbean One-off that Be With You made! I was thinking that I hadn't seen that many pirates at the KBJD Show... but I forgot about him! He was AMAZING!!!! Someone bought him... don't know if they are on DoA or not... but I hope they are and they post pics of him! 14-04-KBJDShow-6341 by aprilllee, on Flickr 14-04-KBJDShow-6340 by aprilllee, on Flickr
Oh, hey... I just saw that there are two Closing Banquet One-Offs still in the US and being offered for sale on the KBJD Show website: BNB Doll, White Tiger Hu man-- Kbjdshow.com KBJDShow-BNBdoll-WTigerHuman_3766614_zpsa9f5c0fd by aprilllee, on Flickr Be With You Doll, Korean Scholar-- Kbjdshow.com I love both of these dolls so much... but I'm afraid I've reached my one-off limit for the time being...
I'm not sure if this counts as "off topic" but I thought it was worth mentioning here. For everyone who enjoyed the KBJD show this year/missed it and plans to go again next year: It says on their facebook page they need 500 signatures on their petition or there wont be another one next year. you can sign their petition here: http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/support-for-kbjd-show and visit their facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/kbjdshow I'm one of the many who heard about it too late and has been thoroughly inspired by the pictures and comments in this forum. I would love to be able to attend and hope that they will be able to have the show again and again. Um also If any one knows of a better place I can put this post let me know and I will gladly move it there. >w>;;
Oh-- thanks for posting that, danedrix13. I hadn't seen that info. I already signed the petition... I'm not sure where to repost that info. I'll put it on some FB groups and any forums I'm on, I guess... It's SO hard to get info out, which is strange since there aren't THAT many bjd-boards! I wonder if it qualifies for the News Section? ---------------------- on the FB page for Kbjd-- Peakswoods posted some of their photos! https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.297341370430022.1073741833.178138939016933&type=1
Crobidoll fans-- So Crobi has 2 of their big G-Lines up for sale now... Is one of them the same sculpt as the guy in the suit and light hair that they had on display in their booth??? I am terrible at sculpt identification...!
Actually, those are the two winning sculpts it seems! The two big fellas at either end won. I voted for Leo, my friend Britt voted for Ethan. :O They were both on display at the KBJD Show~!
KBJD Show 2014 by mikuberries, on Flickr April: Yes, one of them is that sculpt! According to the image above, which I found on Flickr, the blond doll wearing the suit was Leo. So he is for sale! edit: And people who attended the KBJD show seem to get 20% off on the new G-Lines. Wow!
Awesome photos! Especially of the Peaks Woods beauties.--I just put my first Peaks Woods on layaway yesterday (Rogita Blossom)--your photos make me even more anxious to get her. I couldn't make the convention, but this was a great peak at what was there--thanks for posting!
Staria and Kalhurst--thanks for the info! My photos were so bad that I couldn't tell if those were the dolls or not...! I'm tempted by Leo... Jaydoll--Congrats on your PeaksWoods girl. I love their dolls!
