    2. Those are adorable!

    3. Thanks!

    4. I have been reading these knitting threads and marveling at your adorable creations, especially the little Pukipukis. I was wishing I had one because they are so adorable and their clothes are so dinky and dainty.

This afternoon I bought Wovenflame's great Pukipuki knitting patterns, thinking i could probably scale them up a wee bit to fit my Jun Planning Ai doll, Tixy.. and one day.. perhaps one day... I would have a Pukipuki of my own to dress too. I used to knit for dollshouse dolls so hopefully can still do teeny tiny stuff.

Then I spotted a certain little girl on eBay. The auction was nearly ending. So tiny, so adorable. All nekkid and needing a new home. And there is me, with my new patterns and a pile of yarn.... It was clearly meant to be.

So now I am totally overexcited and waiting for my new girl, who I will call Tuppence. Don't worry, I will still knit some things for Tixy too, I am sure they will be great playmates.

    11. what a wonderful page full of tiny goodness! i just get to admire everyone's work since i've either been doing repeat stuff or frogging work when i found out i dropped a stitch near the very beginning and didn't count my stitches till the very end :doh oh well such is life, and why i never knit on a deadline :)

    12. Jodie looks over the moon thrilled with her lovely new outfit.

    13. This idea is not mine) I saw it in internet and used for knitting sweater for SD already, but it was interesting to try idea for girl smaller size

    14. I needed an instant gratification project today, and I only had one 75 yard skein of this spectacular yarn, so Matilda got a new shawl.

Photos really don't do the colors justice, but it does have greens, gold tones, and pops of purple in there. Oh, and gold sparkle.

It's chunky and extravagant and I wish I could find a similar yarn in a heavy, heavy weight so I can have one too. XD

    15. Natawik: what doll is she? She is cute.

I am so in love with Tuppence, my newly adopted Pukipuki Madeleine. We had a bit of a wrestling match with a blonde Jun Planning Ai wig, which fits, but tends to fly off suddenly, so she is still bald.

On the plus side, she already has three dresses and a cardigan to her name. I am getting used to working with thinner threads and my note book is filling with sketches and ideas for future projects for her.

Here she is wearing a simple one piece dress from soft number 10 crochet cotton on 2mm needles. I have now found my 1.5mm and 1mm needles so hopefully will be able to do things in a slightly better scale. This tiny little girl's needs are clearly going to be stealing a lot of my crafting time.

    17. Ah, there she is your Tuppence, Elgyfu. She is so cute!!

    18. Petula loves to go to the park with the pond with ducks. She wears her duck dress. She is a white skin Pukipuki and
this orange/red color yarn is a color that suits her imo.
I made the park, which is larger than in the picture in a fish tank:).

    19. Aww, Petula is having so much fun in her ducky dress. I love your diorama, it is just the perfect size for her.

    20. That little dress and the little park are just perfect! :)

    21. Thank you, so fond of making diorama's.

    22. I head a Pukifee wig that behaved that way. I loved it and it actually fit very well, but it would pop off. I found that a little eye putty (I use silicone ear plugs) smeared inside the wig helped secure it. If you don't need to take the doll's head off much you can even put a dab or two of hot glue on the wig. When necessary it can just be peeled off without any harm to the doll or the wig.

    23. She is Amigata, doll of Nothing Sapiens, russian project)

    24. How beautiful are all these tiny clothes :love
And I finally did sweaters in SD+ size. A long time I could not get for doing pattern for such large size...

    25. Oh, I love the third one! :D Great job!

    26. Thank you :kitty2

    27. For my smaller dolls I love to knit with embroidery yarn 100 % cotton. This sweater has a cable pattern I designed for Littlefee.

    31. You did a great job! They all fit him so well and are so beautiful!

Ahh! So cute! What size needles do you use? I can't believe you did real cables at such a teeny, tiny gauge! :P

It's darling! What sorts of things will she store in it? That's the really fun part. ;)

    32. Urbanizer, thank you. For this cable sweater I used needles (metric) 1,0
      (US 5/0 or UK/CAN 19)

    35. That little dress is darling!

    36. Natawik, those socks are GORGEOUS! So so pretty!
What a darling little dress for a darling little girl. :)

    37. Wovenflame
this is so pretty I cannot knit at all and I love love love this sweater! Do you make these and sell or are you only doing these to dress your doll?

    38. She sells some patterns on Ravelry here.

    39. Thank you so much cleverLC,
the information is very helpful and one day when I can learn to knit I will buy some of the patterns I see she has to offer. The one she showed in white I was wondering if she had that one available. I didn't see it when I went to Ravelry, so that is why I was asking if she sold the white finished product. I did not mean to offend.

    40. Honestly, unless she's being super super nice (I'm never that nice) the amount of time that goes into knitting at scale would make the cost of most finished knits ridiculous. I can bang out a sweater in 2 weeks, if I really push it, but that's like 4-5 hours a day of knitting and all my free time

    41. Thank you Girrl,
so is there anywhere here that I can get super no experience knowledge on how to knit what size needles to use and from the beginning how to knit for dolls?

    42. You can always ask here. :) Quite a few of us are active on Ravelry also.

    43. Thanx a lot :blush

I think this dress is perfect!

    44. I don't take on commissions for this type of thing at all. As Girrl has mentioned they are just too labour intense. Hours and hours of work go into one. This particular sweater was done using a full sized human pattern and down scaling it by using laceweight yarn and very, VERY tiny needles. So it has all the work of a full sized women's sweater but done at a scale that requires much concentration and good lighting. In fact I entered this sweater in the "Handknit Sweater" category at our local fair and it won even though it was competing against full sized sweaters.

No offense is taken, it was an innocent enough inquiry. You should be cautious though, Den of Angels has rules against selling (or buying) outside the actual Marketplace threads. Members can be banned for breaking the rules.

The Ravelry page cleverLC linked to is a pattern sales page. There is a regular "project page" for that sweater on my Ravelry projects area though. I knit and crochet quite a bit for my own dolls. If you are just interested in looking at some of my past projects most of them are organized under the "Doll Clothes" tab.

That's absolutely true! In the case of doll knits it is the skill of the knitter and many, may hours of their time, not the supplies, that make the item costly.

    45. As for the basics of knitting, Lion brand yarns has decent lessons on their website.

As for the needle size, start with a set of sock needles; I got this set of cheap double-pointed needles to start off with. It's not a bad set for a beginner; each size is a different color, too, which makes things easier. Reading glasses may be a good idea to magnify tiny stitches. ;)

Yarns tend to range from sock-weight to "cobweb" lace, to keep things in scale. How much you need depends on what you're making, and what size doll you're making it for. :)

    47. i've been off doing human sized stuff for a couple of weeks and i missed a ton of great projects here. just went through the thread and looked at them all! i'm glad to be back. i missed my doll knitting!

i've been busy with a yarnathon for eatsleepknit my favorite place to get malabrigo lace yarn. its a little pricier than knitpicks but soooo soft. the yarnathon is addictive 'cause i can actually earn/win free doll yarn, about the only way i can afford it right now ;) speaking of which. this project itself isn't for dolls but if anyone is on ravelry and wants to pop over and heart my project i need 27 more hearts to help me get to the next level, and more dolly yarn.....

      • x 2
    48. Do you mean add it to my favorites?

    49. sorry yeah, they said to "get hearts" so that's what i wrote :doh.

one of my other challenges i'm trying to meet is to document 40,075 yards (36,645m) of yarn knit or crocheted! it's giving me the incentive to actually post all my old projects that i had taken pictures of and not done anything with, and then i have to finish a bunch of stuff and take more pictures. it gets a bit confusing though since i had a really old account for "auntbear" where i put alll my human sized stuff, but then i have a "onebluestocking" account that i opened for dolly stuff when i started my blog/etsy store. i had this grand idea that i was going to put patterns up on it, but so far i haven't managed to write anything that anyone else would be able to follow..... if i even remember to write the pattern down at all:roll:, so it's just show and tell for now :)

    50. I faved your project. Good wishes for more more lovely yarn! I started documenting my human yarn stash but it's very cumbersome. Then I got my first bjd and I haven't gotten back to it. Kudos to you!

Do you have a link to your doll projects in Ravelry like Wovenflame posted?

    51. thanks el :)
if you look in my signature there is a link to my doll ravelry page. on the right hand side of that page it shows links to all the finished objects i have up so far. the good thing is once i get all the old projects posted and start on the ufo pile, i'll have lots of stuff to post on this thread as i get the pictures taken :)

    53. Looks so beautiful!!!

    54. Those round pillows look intriguing! Do you happen to have a pattern for those?

    55. i think it was just a variation of this design, which was a free pattern for a pot holder. i stitched it out of really fine bamboo yarn (about the equivalent of size 30 crochet cotton) and then did a plain circle on the back and stuck a round cosmetic sponge in the middle for a pillow form. the larger pillow has some extra padding.

    56. Great idea! Thanks :D

    57. I made my Dollmore Alexia a tank top to go with her new tattoo sleeve leggings. That hair is holding it closed til I find some matching buttons. :)

    58. That looks awesome, auntbear! I want the same thing in people size.

    59. she's getting some great looks @El BJD

when i was setting up all the displays @icicle i was getting kind of jealous of their decor ;) but that is part of the fun, they can have a whole variety of decorating styles, that i don't have room for full sized in my house. and there's no way i'd ever keep a white couch like that clean!

    60. Thanks, auntbear! Great tips for the pillows too!!!
