Super Easy and Quick (MSD) Cowl What you need: - pair of 2mm knitting needles - thin sock yarn - 3x 8mm buttons - a sewing needle and a tapestry needle for finishing Stitches used: garter stitch = knit (k) stitches in every row yo = yarn over k2tog = knit 2 stitches together Gauge: the 19 stitches used gave me a 5cm (or 2 inch) wide cowl. (It would be easiest to adjust needle size to get the same gauge for this project, as changing no. of stitches will make that you need to recalculate where to make the buttonholes.) Pattern Cast on 19 stitches and knit 3 rows in garter stitch. Buttonhole row: k2, (yo, k2tog, k5) 3x, yo, k2tog, k1. Continue in garter stitch until the cowl measures ca. 17 cm, then loosely bind off. Weave in both ends of yarn. Sew on buttons, placing the lowest 2 about 1.5 cm from the edge and the top button closer to the edge of your work opposite to where you’ve made the buttonholes. All finished! Thanks for this, as soon as I get some tiny buttons I'll make one of these, one of my girls in particular is demanding one of these in black.
