Kaye Wiggs Annabella Mini discussion Part 1

Oct 31, 2009

    1. Wow Laurmann - Thats so Cool you knew what that wonderful Yukata is called!

That is just so Lovely Bobbie!

Thanks so much you guys about Zydekas nifty outfit, I am so slammed right now but maybe Tuesday can get even better shots - the stockings are Totally to die for and the whole ensemble is just So Cute I love seeing her lounging about in it playing with the little ones.

Grace I just literally gasp every time I see that dark checkered outfit. OMG! Both your girls look so amazing, but Tiggy is totally kicking my butt over missing that outfit. The sheer magic of your realms for your dolls always has me so wanting to just be there. Love the magic mushrooms and all the wonderous Alice in Wonderland inspired touches! Wow...

    2. Grace that's a great photo. Those mushrooms are so cool. Do they change colors? I love the setup you have. I need to do a little "room" like that for my girls.

    3. Grace I wish I could live in your displays now and then. A bottle of potion that says "drink me" is what I need. Your displays are brilliant and a great inspiration. Where oh where did you find such magical mushrooms?

    4. Who couldn't use a few magic mushrooms in their life:lol:I hear that they make everything glow in the dark.
Just kidding! ;) I love your pictures Grace. They are always so well done. I would love to know if you have any online sources for Japanese print fabrics you could share the links to. I know about Superbuzzy http://www.superbuzzy.com/index.php I've gotten some fabric from them. Do you have any others you can share?:) Thanks so much.

    5. What a great scene for the dolls. I noticed the funny little dancing cards too. It is magical!

    6. Hi everyone, thank you, yes they go red, blue, violet , yellow , green and back to red. I got them from a garden shop, they are meant as outdoor lights you spike in the ground to light your drive way. They are battery solar powered. They are just to cool to keep outside so I have them all over the house..I have my "display" in my living room

The other fabric connection I have is my family in Osaka Japan, other than that there is a boutique fabric store here in Seattle called threads, they get unique imports in but they do not have a shop on line. And we have an International district here with stores that carry small amounts of fabrics.

    7. Popping in for a quick look at all the luscious eye candy! Such wonderful pictures every time I stop in for a peek, thank you everyone for sharing your darlings with us!!

My Annabella has a new dress to model....it is very similar to one she saw an OT doll wearing, and so she had to have one in the same style. (These multi-colored socks always come out really reddish, and they aren't nearly that red, so ignore the color )

I just love this little lady, and am so very glad she came to live with me!!

Have a good evening/day every one!

    8. Grace, I hope it isn't rude to ask cause I don't mean to be rude, Are you Japanese? or just from a military family? I love everything Japanese. :DI used to homeschool my kids and we picked different parts of the world to study about. Japan was one place. My kids love sushi and really love onigiri(think I spelled it right). Anyway I am too curious for my own good. I really like you and Kaye and I have never seen a photo of either of you. Kaye says she is allergic to pictures:lol: and I often wonder what you two look like. I don't even know how old you'all are. That's the weirdest thing about talking to people on the internet.
Anyway have you ever thought about selling the japanese print fabric in your shop. Maybe that would be too much trouble though you are already so busy. But I do love your taste in fabrics.

    9. Hi, of course it's ok to ask, no actually I am not Japanese. My "family" is my adopted family, they hosted my daughter and then I had their eldest daughter live with me for 2 years. She just married a young man here and will now live here in the next town over. So we address each other as "aunt, cousin, sister" etc. They send me fabric from a store called I love Country. Yes I do want to do that. When Kumi gets settled a bit more, she just married last month. I will talk to her about that. I have some extra things now that I will get my webmaster to put up (hopefully soon).

Also I headed a Korean research and bio pharma company for 18 years, so.......I have loads of connections.

I am hunting down those shoes for you too, just when you think you know where something is....it has gotten up and walked elsewhere.
I am 52 and have long pink and rose colored hair right now. I often try colors on before I make the color for a wig. Hmm, allergic to pictures, I maybe too, lol. I have been photo'ed in Haute Doll before. Will try and put one on my face book.

    10. ohhh I want to see a pic of you too Grace ... that pink/rose hair sounds wonderful.

As for me .. I'm 59 in June (YIKES!!) I wonder if I should go pink too ... might cover the gray hairs :? :o ;)

    11. Oh thanks so much for telling me guys. I gotta say your personalitys come across way younger. I Really want to see that hair! I just got my hair dyed my original color again because the kids hate my gray. It's dark brown/black. My grandmother says we have american indian in our family history [Tuckahoe] If that is true all I got was the hair. I am light skinned-just graduated to white from invisable. My daughter is always wanting me to try pink hair because it is her favorite color(shes 10) But I am too insecure to be different(at least visably) so she has to settle for my dolls having pink hair. Which is fine with Arabella. My dolls are not as cowardly as me and like to be different. Grace how do I see your facebook page? I am not good with computers. Kaye how bout it, can we see a picture. In my head you are tall(5.7 at least) thin and dark hair/eyes and very serene/calm. I always think of Grace as petite(5.2?) and wearing glasses and one of those people that can't sit still.
LOL now that she said she has pink hair I keep thinking of actress Annie Potts from the 1980's movie "Pretty in Pink"

    12. Sweet Creations: Love that outfit. I think the socks are fun looking.

This is fun knowing about the different people behind the user names. Thanks for sharing Kaye and Grace and 62Kitty too. I'm 46 with blonde hair (though the highlights help cover the gray peeking through) and 5'2". Actually if you click my profile there is a picture of me holding my iguana. Not a great pic but you can see what I look like. I think pink hair sounds like so much fun. You must be a riot, Grace.

    13. You're pretty!

    14. 62kitty: you have to join facebook, then I can friend you.
Kaye: actually that is why I am pink. My natural hair color is black, I am pale with blue eyes. On my father's side we have old Mongolian blood, so much of the family is very pale, with black hair and light blue eyes and we have blonde too. I started going white(not grey) in my late teens. After fighting with browns, reds, pre-mature blonde, always have to cover roots. I decided on pink, mixed with browns, sort of like my summermoon color and going lighter and darker with the seasons. As the pink fades it becomes like a shimmer of pink, then I color again.

I am 5'6, normal ( in my day I had the Jessica figure from Ipplehouse, lol), don't wear glasses yet, but yes I can never sit still. Getting a facial or a massage is like Chinese water torture. I watch the clock and squirm around, lol. When I was corporate, I wore designer suits, Chanel, Christian Lacroix etc. Now I wear Harajuku comfortable. Wild and crazy. A revolt against all the years of perfect dressing! You will find in my uggs, Zebra striped ones, all my designer high heels are nicely but in boxes, although on special occasions I might put on my Italian made turquoise leather elf style boots, with super pointy toes!

    15. ...that doesn't sound like me!! I'm about 5'6" tall .. about 125 pound, almost black wavy hair gone pepper and saltish now. Brown eyes and freckles everywhere and very fair skin (Irish/English descent)
Nothing serene or calm about me at all .. I'm fidgety and always doing something .. shy and rarely go out socially as I have no self confidence and am scared silly of social events.
Wear glasses to read to do close work. Never been stylish .. comfortable is my choice of clothing! Do have a leather fetish and love nice soft leather shoes and bags!!!

Grace, love the sound of those turquoise boots ;)
Don't know how facebook works but I do have a page or whatever it's called and I think there is a pic of me in there somewhere!!
Grace .. how do we "friend" people? I want to see you too!!!

      :D Kaye

    16. Oh my goodness-you are both ADORABLE!

    17. I don't have a facebook account but I'll have to take 62kitty's word for it. From your own descriptions you both sound like fun, pretty women.

    18. Oh no! We're talking ages and appearances. All I'll say is that I have green skin and rose petals for hair. Better yet, I think I'll come back in a few days when we're talking about the beautiful, slim, youthful, taut-skinned Annabella! Grace and Kaye, your styles sound uniquely interesting.

    19. lol, we are all beautiful, speaking of Annabella. My EMS package is MIA!! it has the sample of the MarbledHalls outfit in it, it is now almost 2 weeks, my factory is tracking. I wanted to show it by now, so we could all order, including me!!

Kaye, they find you and send a friend request and we approve. Yes I have a photo of my daughter and me at the SF con on their. The top hair is light pink in that photo.

    20. I thought that must be your daughter. You two so look like each other. Kaye you have no reason to be camera shy. Both of you look perfect. I will be in my sisters wedding this fall and maybe I'll have a decent picture then. Our dresses are dk. green so I'll be the giant pickle! I've gained a lot of weight since my wedding. All of which will be properly shoved stuffed pushed into a corset(LOL)I gotta take pictures of Arabella in pink hair. And make her some new cool clothes. we'll call it the "look of Grace"

    21. Very interesting that we are all so similar in age ;) I will soon be 57, and you can see my pic on my FB page. I tried to find a couple of you but have no success with searching (technically challenged??) but you can find me if you are so inclined under Doll Fashions by Sweet Creations and as myself by using these links: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Doll-Fashions-by-Sweet-Creations/201354709716?v=wall and http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/connie.casteel?ref=profile

Now on to dolly business.... I cannot find what size shoes to buy for Annabella, and I want to confirm the wig size. Can someone help me with that please? I have a pair of shoes that I use for my Secret, but the are skintight on Annabella and if she had on socks they would be a no-go.

I have also read a reference to 'stretch wigs' versus wigs, and I assumed that meant the wig cap was flexible?

Laura__ thank you for your compliment on Annabella's newest outfit! The color really looks nice on her :)

      Have a wonderful day everyone!!

    22. I got a lot of the shoes from Jpop. You can use a 7-8 wig if it has a lot of stretch, Again I tend to go with Jpop.

    23. I couldn't find the picture of you, Connie. What section is it in?
As far as shoes goes, I have several that are just MSD size that fit Penelope well. Of course there are the ones from JPop and I've also found mimiwoo on ebay has a few styles that fit. For example this style fits well with and without socks:http://tinyurl.com/y8uy55l
And yes, the "stretch" wigs refers to the wig cap. Sometimes you don't know if a wig has a stretch cap until you get it. You can't even go by company because I have some Leeke and Volks wigs that have stretch caps and some that don't from the same company.

    24. Hi Laura, use the 2nd link that takes you to my Profile page...should be on the upper left of that and my Home pages. It is 2 years old, and the gray is hard to see but believe me it is there. Even more so now

I will have a peek at the shoe link, thanks! Sounds like the shoes and wigs could be a hit and miss, but I am sure they can always be re-homed. Annabella doesn't seem to mind being barefoot, wants to mimic me, LOL!

    25. Thanks 62kitty, I did peek around over there and think I will certainly be going back! She has quite an inventory! :)

    26. 62KItty: found the dollheart boys shoes for you, now to find the others

On the subject of shoes, the Gothic Ballerina I carry are also a perfect fit as well as the Kutie Criss Cross

    27. Speaking of Gothic Ballerina.....I forgot to post these pics of Cosette in hers (which arrived along with her Usagi! :) )! They are, indeed, a perfect fit, and this color is perfect with her dress!

    28. Annabella wanted another Spring-y dress, so she is showing off a new one in fuchsia...

Now that she has seen some of the shoes, she is really nagging about having only one pair  so I guess I better get some on order!

Have a great weekend everyone, and a glorious Easter!

    29. I agree, kadepie, I'm thinking I'm going to have to spring for another pair or two myself!

Love those spring colors, Connie! Your Annabella's a lucky girl to have such a talented seamstress for a mom! :) And yes, that's Usagi in the picture. Here's a better picture of the little cutie!

    30. One more....here's Cosette with Usagi and another little VioletPi creation (I'm not sure she's happy with the seating arrangement! :) )....

    31. [IMG]

    32. Annabella wanted something a little more casual, associating yellow with Spring I think.... ;)

    33. A bit more eye candy... Miss Annabella is modleing new outfits, enjoy!

      [IMG] [IMG]

I just love this girl :aheartbea Hope everyone is having a great week!

    34. Oh my Monica, don't worry about that...you have enough going on! There will be plenty of time whenever you are ready ;)

    35. Ooooh I LOVE the Cherries too!

    36. Thanks so much, Gita!

    37. I posted some photos of Annabella and her cousin over in gallery, take a peak

    38. Those are fun photos Grace, I enjoyed seeing the cousins together with their bunny friends.

    39. Justcandy, Harper is gorgeous in her new outfit! Love that lavender color on her with her dark eyes and wig, so cute.

I received a package today from Jpop and Annie had to try on her beautiful new pink mohair wig "Sakurablossom" and gothic ballerina shoes. She also tried out the mystical "Fairy Gossimer" wig that I bought with Koneka in mind, along with a new pair of pretty blueish glass eyes from a previous Jpop order that Annie hadn't worn yet. I love all this stuff! The wigs both fit well, as do the shoes. And the eyes were the biggest surprise of all. I wasn't too keen on them when they came, as they were a tad paler than I'd expected. However, they have a darker rim around the outer edge that sets off the lighter color within the iris, and I really love the way they look for Annie. I think they and the blue wig will look great with blue resin too.

    40. Hobbysue, time does drag on, but you have to look at it like many of us do. YIPPEEE that gives us more time to get wigs and eyes and clothes and ..... and ........ and ....... and......
      ROFL

    41. I've been busy sewing for Annabella again.

    42. bobbieoh11, what gorgeous fabrics in your latest creation! Love the color combination!

    43. Lokilady, yes, they are Kriss Kross light green from Jpop. I have them in several colors and am having a ball matching them to clothes. Thanks for your comments. You, too, Grael and gatodelsol

    44. Sorry if this is overload on Annie spam, but today the postman delivered my snazzy corset set that was created and sewn by Connie of "Sweet Creations" and I had to get a photo of her wearing it, it's so cute on her. I just love this set, I selected the fabric from Connie's photos she sent to me to choose from, I also got one in off-white to save for my Nyssa, and soon will have to order one for my blue Koneko. These are made so beautifully, and all those eyelets! I can't imagine how much time and patience it would have taken for me to make these sets - thanks so much Connie.

    45. My Annabella did get a new wig, and new shoes, yesterday...so no pink one soon ;) Here she is showing off her wig. It is from Grace at Jpop and is Tessa in Sun color. It's gorgeous!

      Have a wonderful day!!

    46. Here ya go, Connie!

    47. Of course! LOL Kids have minds like steel traps. Once something goes in, it's hard to pry it out. ROFL
I'm working on another outfit today and just finished the pants. Then I put my Reiya wig on Annabella. Is there ANY WIG that looks bad on this girl? The outfit isn't done, but I wanted to show the wig. And, yes, those are another pair of Kriss Kross. LOL

    48. Bobbie, the answer is no, there is no wig that looks bad on this girl. I just love these outfits of yours and the fabrics you use. And I love that you have coordinating shoes too. Great combination.

Here is Penelope with the dress I finally finished for her. Made with a Gracefaerie pattern.

    49. gatodelsol Please don't put me in the same sentence as the word 'seamstress' because I'm far from one. I just followed the pattern and it was actually pretty easy to make this outfit. I did have to email the person who made the patterns a couple times with questions. Since I am not a seamstress I really don't understand some of the terms and directions. But Grace, who made the pattern, was very helpful in explaining things to me. But anyway, thank you so much for your nice comment. I'll get right on that rocker and lemonade. LOL

    50. Congrats Kaye. That must be a great feeling of relief to have the kitty all done and sent off. Thanks for the nice compliment on my outfit. I'm glad you like it.

bobbieoh Thanks so much. I was not sure if I was going to be able to make the hat but it was surprisingly easy since it doesn't have a back. See:

    51. Annabella wants to model new things for you, so here is a peek at one. Please go to my Gallery thread if you want to see both new outfits.

Thanks for taking a peek!

    52. I worked at Jpop much of the day and what do I come home to....one of my girls gone goth
      [IMG]

    53. so impressed with everyone's lovely creations for Annabella. I don't sew at all, but certainly can spend on clothes!!! I love my girl in her Val outfit!

    54. Penelope got sprayed with MSC to get rid of the shine. Then I reglossed her lips and changed her eyelashes, eyes and wig. She wants to show off her new look.

    55. Thanks everyone.

62kitty Thank you. Don't be nervous. It was really easy though it took more than the one coat of MSC that I thought it would take. I had to do several very light coats to get rid of the shine and it's not gone completely but, as you see, it's much better.

gatodelsol Thank you so much. I'm glad I did it. I had been wanting to for a while but I was so nervous I'd mess up her faceup. I'm glad I braved it.

bobbie You know, Bobbie, if the shininess doesn't bother you then don't do it. Dolls coated with MSC tend to pick up dirt easier so I'd leave her alone if it doesn't bother you. Thanks for the nice comments.

lokilady Thank you. I'm so glad you like her new look. I have loved everyone's Annabellas that have black wigs and wanted to try it on my girl. I had this wig from another doll and at first I wasn't sure I liked her new look but I'm getting used to it. It's fun changing our dolls "look".

    56. Thanks Connie. The outfit is a Bonika outfit that I bought from a friend of mine. Wish I knew how to do smoking like that. It's so pretty.

    57. Annabella would like to model a Spring/Summer top & capri set for you....enjoy!

We hope everyone is having a great day!
