I love your Kill U boys! Especially the guy in the white wig, he has tons of personality I'm also very envious that you own a Kamyu!

 

So, KDoll has posted some more images of Kasiel on her Flickr ! And an update on Instagram, it seems that overseas orders will be taken sometime between December and January, so pretty soon~!
What does everybody think of him in the new photos? Kasiel is gorgeous, but I don't think he's for me. I hope that this won't be the last head she sculpts for a while, though!

 

I couldn't resist Kasiel's face and ordered one. I've always wanted an open mouth vampire head, but have never found "the one" so here's hoping Kasiel is it.

 

I order Keikei. It looks like they already have a small quantity of him in stock so, maybe I'll have him in my heads within a few weeks. Hopefully, one day K-doll will re-release his tan version as well.

Edit: I got the shipping notice for my Keikei head. Hopefully, I'll have it by next week and can try it on the few smaller bodies I have.

 

My Keikei head arrived yesterday and the v-normal is in fact a 99% match to new/er Volks normal. It matched my pure skin normal Volks doll from 2017, but was not a match for my Volks doll from 2011, which I know has yellowed/mellowed.

I also tried the head on my SDGrB body and my SD13 boy body. I liked how the head looked on the slimmer SDGr body, but it didn't fit well on either of the necks. Both were a bit to wide.

 

Can't wait to see everyone's Kasiels when they arrive tbh! Here is some spam of my cute little Karon mod project (ignore the broken ears haha), I tried out some wings on his head and I think it looks pretty cute, so I might go with it!

 

Do you have anything specific planned for them? I'm so jealous that you have a Kamyu haha, so I'll be watching to see what you do with him!

I just got a shipping notice on my Kasiel. I am excited! Hopefully he can fit on one of the bodies I have already. I am running out of shelf lol

 

USPS is saying the expected delivery is tomorrow!

This is one of the fastest moving international packages I have ever had. Usually takes a full week.

Hopefully I can get some good face up time with him on Tuesday. Forecast is predicting rain on Wednesday.

Can't decide if I want to try small iris 14mm eyes on him or stick with normal iris for that heavy-lidded half-opened eye look. I love his devious little mouth. I own more 12mm eyes than anything and those are a little gappy on him.

He doesn't resin match any normal skin doll I own. He is paler than Akagidoll. Dollshe oriental isn't quire the same tone (can't decide if it is merely yellower or yellower and smidge darker or maybe it's like.... beige-er? like a less saturated tone?). Dollits is yellower. I have another dollshe head (fresh maybe?) and that one is paler than Kasiel.

Body wise.... I feel like SSDF and resinsoul 70cm the shoulders feel too wide but a 60cm boy is too thin (if you like less realistic proportions could work, but there is an obvious gap in back so not appropriate for short hair looks unless you sand off a little of the back lip of the head maybe. Pipos Midnight Crow has nearly no lip to the back of his head so he is really easy to throw on smaller bodies without anything looking weird.

I like the head to shoulder ratio he has on my HID woman body, but lol I need a male version of those proportions!

Not sure what I want for his wig. Or a name. lol.

Will try painting him to decide if anything can be sussed out about his personality.

Resin match isn't the biggest deal to me because proportions/body aesthetic are more important to me so I can just paint his head entirely if I can't find a convenient match.

DF-H's 65cm body and Iplehouse nYID feels a little too blocky for me. My mental images of vampires is like.... gotta be lithe.

Dollzone's 70cm body and Granado Lads are probably the two I think are in the ballpark of what I want.

 

I normally do face-ups on the naturalistic end, but then.... I guess he is a glam vampire now.... I was just doing like a brainstorming face-up so it's not my neatest work, but he developed a cocky look.

I will probably make/buy a super frilly shirt for him to lay around in a state of overdramatic undress.

Not sure what hair style I'm gonna do. Was thinking about a plain black wig since I have a lot of blank suri alpaca, but I think he might need something a little brighter to match.

Yeah silver or maybe a super pale blue or pale purple.

What's the point of having an opened mouth if they never have dubious liquids around there.

 

There's a comparison pic between KeiKei Black, and the new head KeiD on KeiD's page, and it looks like KeiD's eyes are slightly more open then KeiKei Black.

He's done for now while I save up for his body.

I still haven't named him.... Nothing has really popped out to me. Maybe he will stay Kasiel.

 

I got a Fantasy Doll 60cm body for my Keikei head. The resin match is about 90-95%, with the head being lighter than the body. There's also some gapping with the neck, but it's not to noticeable, especially with a long wig.

Finally got a body for my Kasiel! Akagidoll fits pretty well. Resin isn't a 100% match (but the k-doll head matches closer than an akagidoll head I got about a year and a half ago) but with my blushing the diff doesn't feel drastic. The head kind of has a bit of a lip in the back, but not a big deal for the length of hair my doll has.

I got my hands on a damaged Kamyu head in white. He has some holes and dents on his left eye but it's an easy fix.

Don't have a name or character for him yet but it'll be fun to have a big sleeping head.

 

@Leader of the Rats Congratulations! Was it the Kamyu head that was recently listed on eBay that you got?

 

It was! The one with a big hole in his face. I can tell he's kinda old, he's pretty yellow. I'll have to find an old body for him to match.

 

Oh, you're so lucky! I've been wanting an old WS Kamyu in forever. Please spam him when you have him fixed up.

 

Will do, I need to clean my desk so I have a faceup station again. Been really unmotivated since moving.

He's mostly fixed, just gotta get his eyelid even with the intact one.

 

Excuse me for reviving this thread. I was curious if KDoll has any known recasts of their older heads? I purchased a head (who I havent identified yet... I'm so bad with their older sculpts) that's clearly very old, but it was also so cheap that it had me wondering.

@Cloudedmind He is stunning! I wasn't too keen on KeiKei when he was first released but the way you styled him is totally much more my taste. Keelan has a more boyish mature charm to him!

 

@Dybbuk Thanks! Yeah, because Keikei has a baby face a lot of owners tend to put him on smaller bodies and have him look a little more childish. I had actually intended to do something similar, but the body I'd originally gotten for him didn't work out, and this DZ body which I'd bought for another doll, didn't work for it. So, I just tried a bunch of my floating heads on the body, and Keikei's ended up being a near perfect resin match and fit the neck pretty well. The neck's a bit long for my taste, but I liked the more mature look, so I reworked my plans for him.

 

Hi! Does anyone know if K-Doll is still in business?

 

@Rabbit-moon While she hasn't officially made an announcement, all of her websites finally went offline earlier this year, and when she does post to IG it's pictures of her family only. No recent pictures of dolls or heads. And, the last head sale she had was for KeiKei back in early 2020. So, all signs point to her at least being on an extended hiatus, if not gone for good. If there's a specific head you're looking for, you might have better luck secondhand.

I sure hope she hasn't closed-up shop for good. Her sculpts were always magical. I wish her the best.
