If you're interested in seeing the Kikipop box opening, or any other threads related to this project, please check the links here: Box Opening: /threads/kikipop-by-kinoko-juice-ws-box-opening.879617/ +++ The doll I have for this project is a Kiki Munyukuchi BJD in white resin, made by Kinoko Juice, and purchased through the artists' Etsy. I received the doll on May 10th, 2024! These images are from the artists' shop and are not of my exact doll, but are here for a visual reference to start out the thread. Along with that, here are some drawings I have made of the character I will be creating with this doll: Jubilee! The doll version of this character is going to be fairly stylized and definitely cute-ified to go along with the Kikipop's aesthetic. Because this is a chibi-like version of an adult character being created, some of the clothing and accessories for this doll that I make in the future may be more mature, so please keep that in mind if you intend to follow along with this project! Current modification plans: Additional sculpted eyelashes Ear enlargement Adding horn Magnet-on tail attachment Magnet-on wings (open and closed) Thigh notch carving for better sitting position Sueding and wiring Minor seamline removal I will also be making a wig and clothes, custom eyes, and doing the faceup and body blushing, though those will likely be in different threads. Please check the directory above for those! If something isn't linked, it means I haven't made a thread for it yet. +++ As of right now I am in the planning stages for everything, but I should have some mockups to share soon! Thank you for checking out the thread!
Update! I made myself a little mockup sheet from the images from the company's Etsy listing where I bought this doll, since they're the correct resin color, and a really good turnaround reference! Now that I have this set up, I wanted to do a quick mockup of the vague faceup and body blushing I think I want to do. This is pretty quick and rough, but its mostly just to decide what colors I want to put where, and the general scale of things! I included the little mockup I did before deciding to purchase the doll, but wanted to do a larger nicer version for this thread and for myself In all honesty the tail will probably be made from some sort of fabric with an armature wire underneath, since I want it to be posable and not a huge risk of breaking because of how long and thin it would be. For the wings, though, those will either be made from sculpted epoxy or 3d printed in resin! I would like to do an open version and a closed version so that I can swap them out. I included a rough idea for where I will be placing the magnets. With how thick Kiki's torso is, and the lack of any joint in the torso, I will probably just be gluing the magnets to the outside surface of the resin. Because of this I'm thinking of getting some magnets in more fun shapes, like stars! I'm thinking the first thing I will actually end up making is a temporary wig, just for the sake of getting some practice in before I try doing the real thing. I'm still debating if I want to order some very long faux fur in the right color and snip off wefts of it, or if I want to take the plunge and dye some of the suri alpaca fiber I have been sitting on for...... for since february of 2018 I need to order some supplies either way, since I think my apoxiesculpt has long since gone bad. I'm hoping to be back soon with another update, though!
