Discussion It Was Cool at the Time

I think this was actually my first photoshoot. It's the first one I still have a copy of, at any rate. Good lord, but that was an awful shoot, even by my sub-par standards.

Note that the only think about these dolls that's still the same is their heads. They have different wigs, different bodies, different eyes, different faceups, different clothes...I still have the clothes, at least, but they never get worn anymore.

 

Scary photo is scary... Flyaways, focus, everything ugh

 

I don't tend to save the pictures that don't turn out, but I do have this one from when I took Athene outside (for the first time) and she fell (for the first time)! Thankfully, I caught her, but before I did, I took this picture of half her body as she was falling over, as she didn't start to all over until I'd taken it. XD

 

Oh I have so many I can't even begin to choose.

Kai (DZ Mo) in the wig that does nothing for him, dressed in something I do NOT recognize... oh wait! it's the scarf that went with the skirt Ivy is wearing! Ivy is a Dreamcreators Safi head who's been on a multitude of different bodies, none really good for her. Between that and those eyes she looks like a bug-eyed monster. The only one who works at all is the Min Del Rey (who I no longer own) except that it's the up-the-dress shot.

And the horrible flash.

Oh lordy. I should get on my knees and apologize to them...

 

this wasn't the FIRST i took, but it was one of the worst. I took this, about 3 months after i got Sunny? she doesn't look too happy..... (please excuse the hospital bracelet. )

 

heheh... Bad photography... bad lighting... need I say more?

No head, tied on scraps for clothes, gummy candy eyes, surrounded by party stuff, and flash.

I'm pretty sure I thought this was cute all those years ago, and I know I was terribly proud of the fact that I'd done my first face-up, cut his wig, and made his pants myself, but WOW I can't believe I actually posted this.

 

Soon after I joined. What are these girls doing? I can't believe I dressed them like that.

I am still mortified that I ever considered posting these...much less DID it. Which I did.

Let's see here...flash of DOOM, uncreative posing, flyaways galore, I just moved so it was in a living room that was full of boxes and nothing else...yeah, if it was wrong, I did it.

 

Issachar's gray-brown fur wig. I thought it was the coolest thing at the time. >.< Nope. Not cool at all, haha. I don't think that thing even fit.

 

The poor boy!! Just dyed and restrung - hence the fact he's doing the splits - horrible wig and dodgy boots.

This photo also features our crappy carpet and dusty TV unit full of my stuff. Its blurry and overexposed, not to mention he looks like he's been surprised doing something he shouldn't be!

I posted this shameful photo in my dyeing thread, to show everybody how magnificent he was........

About a year and a half back. e-e" Stupid overexposure and crap focus. Rawr.

 

Ok so even i could tell the photo sucked, but i still thought it was so cool! I mean, his pose is awsome, right? and he looks so good without his wig, right? DX wrong, so so wrong.

This is from the very first photo shoot i did with Para. As you can see here wig is not on all the way and her boots are way to big. But i thought this photo was so great it is on my Dev Art... now when i look at it all i can see are it's flaws.

 

I actually still love this picture. About 3 years ago, I took some pics to show how the jumper fit and then, while I was trying to get a nice "relaxin with a drink" pic My husband said "Time to go, now!" I snapped one more quick pic and when I got home and unloaded my camera I found the last one had slipped all over the place. Lotte looks like she is drunk and VERY careless. I make her wear undies for pics now.



I have gotten a new camera and improved my skills since then too.

WAGH. Gwaewen soon after she arrived, about a year ago. Her eyes are horrible and pointing in different directions, the lighting sucks and, between the dressing gown and the cat screen on the window, she looks like a mental patient.

 

Like a patient prepped for nose surgery...right up it! Figured "lying down is good, don't need to worry about her falling over on the uneven floors", failed to realize that nostrils aren't really supposed to be the focal point of your picture. Or that fixing up a pic in photoshop wasn't "cheating" and that yes, it's a good thing to do.

I still take my share of horrible photos. Unfortunately, however, I have deleted most of my early pictures. This is a typical example (the arms!!). Almost all my photos then were taken on my screened in porch at my old house, which had the best light (obviously a relative term!), but where the walls were a horrible grey and, because it was such a small area, never more than a few inches behind a doll.
I still like the socks, though.

I'd only had him a week or less. First doll. No clue how to take pictures of him. I think my camera focused on his wig and not him lol. His wig. Ugh. I still don't know why I thought that it looked good. I can't stand it now. >.< I just held him up to the sky for this one. I even submitted it to a contest I think.
