They’re so cute!!!!!! Like little toddlers!

 

Hello, thank you for making this thread! I'm new to the forum and I've been looking for info about these cuties but couldn't find much. I ordered Gloomy Bru about a month ago and I can't wait for him to be here (I think he will be a boy).
Your Bru is super sweet!! is she wearing a 9" wig? And is their eye size really 24 mm?

 

@Cydril I puchased him directly from ID about a month ago. I asked them about adding face-up and other options, and after I placed my order I noticed they updated their website. I think now you can add all the options you want and check out through there Have you tried Legend Doll as well? That’s where I saw Bru for the first time but I live in the US and I believe LD is overseas, so I ended up ordering directly from ID.

And thank you for the info about their size! I got a wig and eyes from etsy, and I was worried they wouldn’t fit right I will look at pukifee clothes too!

It does not say anything about them being produced in limited runs on Alice's Collections. Sorry, my English is not the best. By limited runs, do you mean that they are limited and if I do not order soon I'll lose the chance to own one? Or is it just that they can be ordered from time to time but only a small number is sold each time?

I feel so tempted to order one, but at the same time I'm very unsure if these dolls are my cup of tea. I do have plans to own a couple of anime styled and anime like dolls of different kinds. I imagine ordering one in a darker skin tone, and style it in an adorable colorful anime nekomimi style. Maybe a sunburned, tan or dark tan Naughty.

 

Ok I guess they are not limited anymore since it says nothing about it on Alice's Collections.

I'm very tempted to bring home a Bru Naughty some time in the near future. And I think these would fit nicely in with my custom Blythe since they have such big heads.

 

So I finally got my Bru and thought I'd share a pic of him! It took me a while to find the right wig and eyes for him though. I'm over the moon for this little guy:

AprilRainbowBet, I believe you. I discovered these dolls only a week ago and all I have to do is look at pictures of Gloomy Bru . I tried to find some pictures of Bru and Pukifee together, but no luck there. I was wondering how do they look next to each other?

 

I love everyone’s little Bru’s! They are just precious. For those of you who have one, did you order with factory faceup or do your own?

 

I am looking at these dolls now, and I am curious about the factory faceup and size as well. Does anyone have a Pukifee or Lati Yellow they could do a size comparison with? I find these to be super adorable, but don't want to buy one without knowing a little bit more about them.

 

Here is my Bru. I bought her second hand. She came with factory faceup.

@jenlovesdolls My Bru has the factory face up & body blush. I don't have a Pukifee or I would do a size comparison for you! I did try a jumpsuit for Lati Yellow/Pukifee on my Bru, and the arms and legs were too small. I think both dolls are similar in size but Bru's body and limbs are chubby, like a toddler's

Oh, yay! Thank you, altoy, (a bit delayed) for the comparison shot with Lati and pukiFee! I had a hard time envisioning the actual size of this one...

 

@Cydril Ha ha, don't worry, me neither. IRL and if you focus really hard, you can see that island skin is a smidge lighter than sunburned, but when the dolls are in situation with all the light bouncing off different objects, it's impossible to tell.

 

oh these are adorable I NEED a grumpy toddler now the real one's grown up and left home LOL

I just finished my dye job and Faceup for my IslandDoll Bru 09. I love this doll they are so funny and I want to get more for a tiny orc and troll army.

Hey, does anyone here have a sense for how difficult eyes are to find for these little guys? I just ordered one and I'm worried I'll have nothing that fits- I was hoping to make my own but I think the biggest mold I have is 18cm! I'm not concerned so much about iris size as I am with major gapping.

 

Mine wears 24mm eyes I believe. They're quite big but with the size you can find eyes made for other types of doll making. I got mine off ebay for like $7 for a pair of acrylic eyes.

 

Please excuse the double post but I just thought I'd share my Bru hyrbids.

I put a HuajingDoll head on the Bru body. No wig cause I can't seen to find one I like for her. Also fun fact, in this pic she's wearing a NaNaNa! Surprise dress and Blythe shoes which both fit pretty well.

And my Bru head I put on a Bambicrony body. (This honestly doesn't match very well color wise but when clothed it's no bad.)

I'm not a fan of these heads as 1/8 but as 1/6 they're super adorable. Due to the small neck they're pretty limited for hybridization though. I've also put my Bru head on a Dollzone 1/6 body and it was also a cute hybrid.

 

Yeah 1/8 Bru looks so uncomfortable to me. Like the head is gonna snap under the weight. But on a 1/6 it looks like a chibi.

 

@Cap'n OMG, I was actually planning to hybrid with a 1/6 body! The kiddish proportions are adorable.

I'm so glad it looks so cute, I wasn't sure what to expect- I'm still kind of unsure of the exact scale of these guys

 

Ooo! Love the hybrids! Makes me tempted to find a smaller head for the body. But I don't even know where to start. I've never looked at tiny hybrids.

I've just bought one and I was wondering if 20/22mm eyes would fit, as I'm not a fan of large eyes and my other dolls have way smaller eyes, so I can't compare when it arrives...
If someone could let me know how does a smaller eye size looks like, I'd be really grateful!

 

You may be able to get away with 22mm but 20mm are much too small and there would be noticeable gaping. I would actually recommend ordering the eyes the doll comes with since glass 24mm eyes are hard to come by.

I only unpacked my dolls yesterday (poor things have been in a box for 8 years, I'm the worst) and saw that I actually have 20mm eyes, so I'll check them out when the doll comes, either way, I took your advice and orderer 24mm eyes

Updating this thread since I stumbled across these cuties by accident on ACBJD, and since Islanddoll is having an event sale, I ended up ordering Greedy in NS and Gloom in Dark Tan! Does anyone know the average turn around time for Islanddoll?

 

@Akemi3167 I just bought a blank body from them on 10/02 and it was delivered to my agent on 12/5! But I bought directly from their taobao. In my experience they tend to take around 2 months, but idk if the sale or holiday will make that longer.

I'm currrently just windows shopping as I can't do any doll orders at the moment. But they have piqued my interest (especially Gloomy) as I already got a few Blythes. I thought Bru and Blythe would be cool together sharing the same doll shelf.

 

I think they would look cute together.

 

I seem to keep gravitating back to Bru's. Picked up a Bru Dou Bao in Island. Loving this face.

 

Love everyone's pictures! Am thinking of getting a Bru and just wondering how they would look beside a pukifee -- I have a roombox for my Pukifee and if they are to share this, I want to make sure the Bru's head isn't too big

 

They might look a bit odd in comparison. Depends on what sort of look you are going for. Bru can actually wear some Pukifee clothes but their heads are much larger. Pukifee have a 14cm head while Bru have 22cm heads. Bru's head and face is overall a lot bigger. I don't have a Pukifee but I have some smaller headed 1/8 dolls that can wear Pukifee clothes (Lati Yellow and Tiny Delf). I'll see if I can get ya a comparison pic in a couple hours of them.
