~20cm Dolls Island Doll Nuan Nuan - Tiny Darling

Oct 3, 2024

    1. I was so excited when my Island Dolls showed up! I ordered them at the end of August, and they arrived yesterday on the second of October. It was my first time ordering from them (placed via Alice's Collections), and I was shocked how fast they are! The shock transferred over to when I got them out and felt how quality they also are; the speed and quality both were not expected together, especially since I ordered during a 30% discount when surely they've had more orders than normal!

Anyway, I was so excited that I didn't even take any box opening photos for Nuan Nuan. Here's the little darling after I've unpackaged her and in a temporary outfit she stole from a blind boxed 1/12 BJD; I'm planning to make her some cute little fleecy hooded onesies in some fun pastel colors, but that will have to wait for me to have more time.

I got her in dark tan because I thought the darker tone would look cute with the pastel onesies, and I think it's perfect for her! First photo is most color accurate on my screens, if you're interested in this for the color reference; it's similar to a Resinsoul dark tan, but with bluer undertones.

I have named her Annie Bleat, and she is an aspiring photojournalist. Welcome to the family, Annie!

(For the large boy she arrived with, see here: /threads/island-doll-yun-qing-90s-boy.883237/)

    6. Such a little cutie! I love that the two dolls you got are on the opposite ends of the size spectrum!

    7. MSD used to be my absolute preferred size. Now I seem to find myself gravitating towards the extremes more and more! It's a challenge with the large boys because I've got fibromyalgia, but we've got some tricks worked out that help and they tend to wear one outfit each for a very long time :XD: The tinies, on the other hand, often come to work with me. I'm sure Annie will soon!

    8. she's udderly precious! I'm curious about her posing and stringing (I've been eyeing Island Doll tinies for a while)

    9. Stringing seems pretty standard, although she's got a tiny O-ring instead of an S-hook in her head. Her arms pose and hold poses really well for that size (they can bend where the forearm is almost fully against the upper arm), but her legs are single-jointed and with the natural shape of them they don't hold their limited bend well unless you twist them slightly. I'll probably wire them with some jewelry wire. Overall, about the same as my larger boy - the rest of the body done really well at the expense of below the waist. :XD:
I've got off-topic tinies that pose better, but haven't tried any other casted tinies yet - though after how hard I fell for Annie I'm eying a couple from Doll Factory! (I wanna get her a reporter and a videographer to adventure with!)

    10. I almost forgot how much I wanted a Nuan Nuan of my own some time ago. That dress fits her perfectly!
