Hi. I just ordered Odin in suntan. I went all out and got jointed hands too. It's been forever since I bought any wigs. Should I be getting the 8/9 size for him or 9/10? I did the math and his head comes out to 9 inches.

These posts are making me want another IslandDoll now in the dark tan

Personally I would go with 9/10 as they cover 22cm-24cm. I think a 8/9 covers 21cm-23cm. I've had some really varied experience with supposed 8/9 so it's a chance!! Some are pretty small and snug and some too large. At least with the 9/10 you could use a wig cap?? I'm no expert so get more opinions.

I'd love to see your guy when he arrives!

 

@silentstardust : I have an Odin and he does fit in an 8/9- but his wig is also pretty darn stretchy. I believe the one in this photo is a Crobi 10. I can check when I get home, if you want. Sadly, my order history on their site doesn't tell me what the heck size I ordered. I doubt I went with an 8 though. I don't think that would stretch over his big noggin at all.

 

Oh he's awesome @BlitheFool ! How does he compare to other SD dolls size-wise? Is he really buff?

'Star (Odin) has actually been on a temp. body- his Island Doll bod is supposed to arrive tonight! So I can take comparison pics with my other buff dudes if anyone would like. I'm pretty sure he'll be taller than most of them.

@silentstardust - I tried a 9/10 wig on time and it fits very nicely. Not too huge. It was an Iplehouse 9/10. He does wear a wig cap though- if that makes any difference to you.

 

@Cydril Say, just how flexible is that body? Especially the legs, since they don't have thigh joints.

@iamkathybrown , the mobility is about what you would expect. The legs don't really have any side to side movement, but he can sit on his feet and cross legged without too much effort. I will say, the ankles are the worst part, super wobbly. I think he will be better once he is hot glue sueded.

@BlitheFool I love the face up on your Odin. I've been looking at Crobidoll wigs for awhile now, does it take very long for the to ship/how are the shipping charges?

 

@iamkathybrown , she loos so nice! The dark tan really suits that sculpt.
Im pretty sure the oily spots are just mold release spray. It shows up on darker dolls, but it should rinse off.

 

@bananapudding -Crobi is fast! They're usually only a couple days from ordering to shipping for wigs. They don't generally send an email though when they ship. You have to check your order status on their website.

I realize now that I never put up a picture of my (still unnamed) head with her eyes in.

 

What body are you planning for her?

 

A Granado Female Nuevo. The measurements are similar and it keeps the boyish look I want. But it is so pricey! It will be a while. And custom colors are for VIPs only. I guess I'll have to order through someone. I toyed with getting a much cheaper Impldoll Star, but the neck is a bit big and it is a bit too tall and shapely for what I want. It's hard finding shoulders broad enough for this honking huge head. Hybrids, amiright?

 

@iamkathybrown it may match Granado's Chocolate resin? They both look pretty darn dark.

 

I was thinking that, but I don't know how to check and I don't want to buy an expensive body and have a horrible match.

 

@iamkathybrown - did you try reaching out to Granado to see if they will send you a sample piece of resin?? They might.

I've never bought from Taobao so I can't say 100% for sure, but I am pretty sure it is. When I was buying this Sparkle head and looking for more pictures, they had both company photos and photos I could not find anywhere else, yet that appeared to be a continuation of the same photoshoot as the the ones I knew for sure were company photos.

Also, I emailed Granado, and they said they don't do samples. But they said that they would color match so maybe I don't need to be a VIP.

I was a little hesitant about putting these pictures up. I'm not really a picture taker and I don't like to bombard people with stuff but I had to take her out of the box to check her eyelashes after I messed them up. I'm going to switch them out but want to wait until the Chinese New Year is over before I start creating more orders from Taobao. That's the first picture of her today.

This is Momoji or Momo as I call her. She is a Tan Skin Sweet Amy Sculpt. She has the most clothes out of all my dolls. It's a struggle to put clothes on her because I have Lupus and that affects my joints. Some days are good and I don't have a problem and some days it's hard to put on her shoes and clothes. Sometimes I just put her in something easier to finagle like what she has on now. It's from Amors called Mist Fairy and doesn't have too many parts. The second outfit is a Macaroon Outfit from M+V Studio. It was the most frustrating thing ever to put on this doll and I told her I was never putting it on her again. It's too bad because it's really cute. Those pictures are after this one.

Oh she's gorgeous! Ive never seen this sculpt in tan before Both outfits look great, but I like the Amors one a little better. She has a sweet-mori kind of look in it.

I know! I was so scared getting her because I couldn't find any pictures online of this one in Tan. I took a leap of faith and it worked out perfectly. Now I have one other doll in tan and another coming from MYOU Doll.

 

Here's my Veranoen! He has such a presence about him.

 

Not sure what body I would like to get my Veranoen. I've been looking at several companies that do resin matching and I had my eye on Granado's Male Embody for him but worried he'll look pin-headed on such a muscular body. lol

 

@~carrot! - What about Granado's Lads body? Too skinny? I have one and I really like it. That head sculpt is great!
I've heard Spiritdoll will do custom colours as well. Maybe a Proud body?

 

Veranoen will fit a 11.5cm neck. Those Lads and proud body neck sizes seem a little small. Thanks for the suggestions!

 

@~carrot! in your photo he looks like he'd be a close match to Granado bronze or Supia tan. Have you looked at the Supia boy body?

I've got a question about the 61cm Angel body. Does anyone know a pair of jointed hands that would fit this body? I've never hybrided with jointed hands before, so I was curious if someone would know something about this.

It's possible that I've managed to read over this information somewhere, but I've been researching for hours. From what I understand, Island Doll has both regular and environmental resin? My question is, what colors are which? I want to order this week, if I can, but I need to know what kind of resin I'll be choosing from. Thank you. ​

 

@dizii, the angel body has male sized hands, and the wrist circumference is about 6cm. I dont know much about jointed hands in general, but maybe that helps you?

@BenEMcD , Someone correct me if Im wrong on this, but I think it depends on the doll you order. If you order a regular Island doll, you choose from the environmental resins


But if you choose one of the 'series dolls' (wind, norse myth, etc), you choose from regular resins.

 

Oh, okay. I'm wanting to buy from the original "First" series. I think my confusion comes from the fact that Alice's Collections only sells the "First" series in Normal Pink, Normal Yellow, and White. I'm going to try messaging them about it. ​

 

This is kind of a newbie question and frankly it is because I am a newbie when it comes to shoes (but not a newbie here).

My doll is a 1/3 and has these measurements:
Foot Length: 7.8cm
Foot Width: 3cm

I am looking at some shoes with these measurements:
Inner Length 70cm: 10.5cm (actual usage 9.5cm)
Inner Length 1/3: 10.5cm (actual usage 9.5cm)
Inner Length 1/4: 8.5cm (actual usage 7.5cm)

Will the 1/3 shoes fit my doll? I am so unsure about shoe size since my doll is not standard. He is an IslandDoll 1/3.

 

I guess your doll is a male, right? Then yes, SD shoes will fit his feet.

But I was specifically wondering if the shoes in the OP would fit.

 

You don't have the width on those shoes, so length alone isn't enough to know.

Also, it depends on the type of shoe. Some shoes with the right length/width might not work if your doll's feet have a high "arch" or thickness that prevent the foot from slipping into a shoe with a rigid boot-type top or partially closed top, like a lace-up shoe.

I don't think he has a very high arc though, I think he's a bit "flat footed" actually. BTW He's an IslandDoll Eric.

 

I just got an estimate on how much a body would be for my Sparkle, and, well, I just don't think I can swing it. It is a good $100 more than I thought, and I thought it would be a lot. I am not sure what to do about this girl.

EDIT: Okay, after the initial sticker shock, I think this just means that I am going to be waiting for a while longer. Maybe I really should have bought a body and color matched the head, but it is too late for that now. Beside, I didn't even know what body I wanted before, so it wouldn't have worked out.

 

Does anyone know where I can find owner pics of the Island 65cm Boy Body-2? I haven't been able to find any owner pics of this body.

I'm trying to narrow down whether or not I want Island Doll's or the Dika's 73cm Boy Body Ver. 3 for my Veranoen head.
