Lost/Damaged Iplehouse; question about dolls ordered in the past few months.

Jun 7, 2010

    1. I, too, have ordered from Iplehouse before with no issue before, and I think that's part of what made my experience this time more saddening.

The quality is a very small part of the problem I have with Iplehouse at the moment, really; and I think most of the people with issues in this thread would probably agree on that point. I am aware that there will be mistakes, and a certain amount are acceptable. However, at a point these mistakes become unacceptable when you are paying $400-$600 for a brand-new doll.

My problem is how their customer service has been dealing with issues. There is no excuse for the way some of the requests mentioned in this thread have been handled. I think the worst case right now is probably chaos_zebra. The attitude that I am seeing from the customer service tends to indicate either a lack of respect, or a lack of interest in their quality control. This is something that I find concerning in any company and this is what will make me hesitant to deal with them in the future. (Admittedly, some of this is probably due to language barrier.)

Irregardless, it is absurd to think that a customer should be expected to pay even more money to fix mistakes or defects that were the fault of the company. Whether this is shipping costs (and refunding in points for site credit is NOT paying for shipping), or this is because a customizer's services need to be called in, parts need to be replaced, or any other reason.

    2. I agree Kitazawa. I mean, my RS Asa and my RS Luo were both ordered within two weeks of each other and went through the same manufacturing process at the same time- they arrived within two weeks of each other. Luo has NO issues whatsoever and he's my third successful doll purchase from IH.

Asa had a couple things that bothered me but not enough to really make an issue of it. I'd have hated to get the same response chaos_zebra got when she brought to light her doll's issue with customer service.

    3. I agree with you too Kitazawa, and I would have been furious if I was chaos_zebra. I hope someone stand up and says that they want that problem to be fixed free of charge because that is ridiculous. Iple should fess up to there mistakes.

    4. Thanks for the sympathy guys. :) I'm not going to fight Iple to get my shipping refunded because it's not worth the hassle. I will, however, make it very well known on DoA exactly how I have been treated by them, and leave it up to others whether they want to risk the same.

In other discouraging news, I just heard in the Iplehouse waiting room that another person has also gotten the wrong makeup on her Asa, after specifically messaging Iplehouse to make sure she would not have the same problem with her order that others have been having, and being reassured that it would not happen. I am really getting pissed off at this company now. This is beyond a few isolated incidents; this is a clear pattern of them treating their customers like sh*t. And all I see are the customers trying to be reasonable, find workarounds, etc. while the company is extending none of the same courtesy, not even paying return shipping to fix their own mistakes. IMHO, there is NO doll that is so beautiful that we should allow ourselves to be walked all over for the "privilege" of buying it!

Still no head, and my patience is hanging by a thread now. ONE more screw-up by Iple, and I'm filing to get my money back from my credit card. ALL of it. THEN we'll see who's blithely toying with who.

    5. Oh this scares me ._.;

I was thinking of saving to get a JID I down the road and now I'm...scared to. I'm 'newish' will dolls. I don't do my own face ups, and haven't yet had to go through heading a head away to be painted. I did have a few issues with my Kid Delf but not issues I felt the need to fight with the company about [and they ignored me after I posted photos they requested but it was minor damage, I'll survive].

I think it's unacceptable to receive the wrong face up, especially if you sent a message to confirm. Different company, but I changed my dolls face up at the very last minute, and Dream of Doll had already sent my boy to have his face painted. I was expecting a default face up or something that looked nothing like what I requested. No, his face up was perfect and they were flocked with orders at the time.

But I digressed the point, I guess, is no I for me :<

    6. Finally some good news! Asa's head arrived in the mail today, and she has type A makeup! :sumomo: She has some scratches and bumps on her face, but I'm just happy to have her in once piece again, and I have definitely had enough of Iple's so-called customer service department.

    7. WHOO! I am glad she arrived with the right make up this time- still I can't believe she came back with issues! That's what gets me- isn't anyone really LOOKING at the doll before they send it out?

    8. That is something I've been wondering. I mean ... I could tell there were some issues with mine right away. I mean, it came coated in resin-dust for one. But it would have only taken a few seconds assessment to tell the head needed work too.

It'd take even less time to notice the scratches in a faceup. Ugh.

    9. Hi everyone, just wanted to have your advice/opinions.

I just placed an order for a basic Cherie with face-up in white skin 2 days ago and I just paid in full yesterday and today I got the shipping notice that she is on shipping and they have provided the airway bill number.

This doesn't sound right! How can it be soo super fast? I hope they did not mistook my order for someone else's and sent the Cherie wrongly to me!

Anybody had this super fast experience before? I am begining to be a bit worried now! I hope they don't screw up cos they have been screwing up the past orders and I don't want to get someone else's doll by mistake!!

I appreciate any advice/opinion you can give, thank you!

    10. That does seem rather odd since she is supposed to have a face-up. Even when I ordered my Ryushin a few years ago I didn't have service that quickly, and I order all of my dolls blank :/ So even if they somehow screwed up and forgot the faceup it should still take longer. What I hope is that they aren't sending you some item that another person forced them to refund for or something like that.

At this point I think the only thing you can do is wait until it arrives and hope for the best. I'll cross my fingers for you.

    11. Kitazawa, that is what I am afraid of, here is my update plus the reply from them this afternoon:

I just found out my SID Jessica Special Edition is also on shipping and with the same airwaybill number! How can this be?:?

When I asked them yesterday to confirm my payment and when can SID Cherie and SID Jessica be ready this is their reply:

      Hi, lovely Ms Lin
      We've confirmed your payment.
SID Jessica and Cherie will be manufactured about the middle of July.
The dolls will be shipped within forth week of July if the item is ready.

      Thank you so much ^^

      What do you guys think?

I posted another question on their q&a today and for them to re-confirm if they are shipping my orders correctly and we'll see what they reply!

I clicked on the tracking number and this is what I get, so I can assume the number is valid.

I am feeling really nervous now.:atremblin

I had the same experience with Soom for my Idealian Branon which they sent me the display/floor model instead of a new doll and I had to re-sent Branon back to them to have it replaced because the display doll was very used and had many quality control issues because it is a display piece! I want to cry.....not again!!

      UPDATE: Here's their reply.

      Hi, lovely Ms Lin

I'm afraid that you made us difficult...
Furthermore we've already shipped all items

Thank you so much for your understanding in advance

***I really don't get what they are trying to say. Anyone understand what they mean? I am really nervous right now!***

    12. When was the Jessica ordered? If it was ordered some time ago the tracking may be for her alone ....

I think they may be just as confused as you are, though that could be giving them too much benefit of the doubt. At any rate they either sound confused, or like two different people have responded to your inquiry.

I'm just not sure what to make of Iple customer service anymore ... I don't think I could put anything past them right now.

    13. It would be helpful if you could tell us what you said to them? I agree, it sounds like they're confused. My guess would be that they're shipping your SID Jessica, and they had two orders for you and mistakenly responded to the second with tracking. Then, when they caught your order, they responded to the first, but they never contacted you to explain the mistake.

    14. Hi Kitazawa and Arashiko, I ordered SID Jessica on 14th June and when I ordered SID Cherie on the 7th July, I requested for combine shipping to save on shipping costs.

Here is my question to them:

      Dear Iplehouse,

Can you recheck and reconfirm that both my orders for SID Jessica under order number: #and SID Cherie under order number:# is correctly sent because I saw both my orders are on shipping and the airway bill number is EC107618334KR.

      Please kindly confirm.

      Thank you very much,
      Ms Lin

I agree with Kitazawa, their customer service is a mess, they should employ someone who speaks, able to communicate and understands fluent english and someone who is able to give personalized customer service care.

There's nothing I can do now just to wait and see if they sent the correct dolls and hopefully no major defects or flaws due to the rushed work done on them.

The bad news is I am leaving on a family trip on Monday and won't be back 2 weeks later.....ugghh... , I don't understand why they rush my orders like this and screwing my plans!

Now I need to make arrangements to get someone to check our mails when we are gone so they can take the dolls on my behalf.

    15. I'm going to guess that they either lost or disregarded your request to combine shipping and ship the two dolls together (or that they didn't understand the request). I'm willing to bet that what you will receive is your Jessica, and then be required to pay shipping on the Cherie when she is complete.

Keep us updated, and I'm hoping everything turns out okay in the end.

(Note: If you can at all, find someone who can quality check the doll for you so that if there are any defects like some of the ones posted about in this thread you can try to get into contact with Iplehouse quickly. Many companies have a policy that after a certain amount of days have passed they won't accept complaints. Given their performance so far, you don't want to give Iplehouse that out.)

    16. Wow, someone posted a link to this thread. I'm planning on ordering Yur once I've finished paying off a doll, but I think I'll be waiting for a while seeing as there is an event about to happen. I bought one of the first NS Akandos and there was a two month wait for him, but he still managed to arrive without flaws. I got a sleep head with him as well.

I agree that the customer service is the major issue. I know when the first real skin dolls started turning green, there were problems with Iplehouse not wanting to do anything. Eventually they agreed to replace the dolls but from memory, people had to pay half the costs again. It's not very good customer service. I know there can be issues dealing with overseas customers but considering international people pay $100+ extra for the same dolls as local customers, I figure they're getting reimbursed to deal with us.

    17. It is also possible padme that someone had already ordered that sculpt previous and defaulted on their layaway or canceled their order. In that case i can see them using that doll to fill your order, expecially if it was the same as what you had ordered.

      Hope everything works out! ^_^

    18. wow i'm getting so worried....
I am saving for my first bjd a JID I and i really think she is the best for me. I'm a bit worried with so many problems... did any one had a problem with an I or JIDs i read here that one person had a problem.... is it that bad? or it's more depending on the time of the year... definitely not gonna order before Christmas hahahahah

    19. Tan dolls turning green is no new thing, so it's not that surprising that they were hesitant to deal with it in the way people wanted. And they actually let you keep the greened doll once you got a replacement, so you were paying half as much for a new doll. People could have sold the greened doll and recouped the costs if they so wished. Not really that unreasonable.

    20. Agreeing with kawaii_mon here. I was one of the people who swapped their greening Akandos for a new one and I was happy wth the way it was handled. I sold my slightly khaki RS Akando for the same amount as I bought the NS replacement, so I wasn't out of pocket.

But, I am also agreeing with the deterioration in quality of the casting recently. I just received my Asa and she has that annoying roughness all over, which will require diligent sanding. I also asked for her ears to be pierced, which weren't. I was also surprised to see that the company label doesn't actually fit the slot in the back of the head. That is just sloppy.

So, yes, I am mourning Ip's renowned quality. All I can imagine is that, due to increased demand, they have switched their casting to another company who just doesn't do such a good job of it.

    21. I asked for my Ashanti's ears to be pierced and they also werent :/
My label fell off the other day, hardly surprising as the glue on it isn't that strong either.

    22. I was just about to place an order for Asa -but after reading all this, I am just not sure anymore. Asa is the most beautidul doll and I want her, but I can't do any sanding -nor anything else, if there is a problem with her. She does cost almost 700dollars and for me, that is a lot for a doll!!! I just don't know what I shall do :(

    23. I just received my Ashanti - who was on layaway. I already own several IH dolls and never had a complaint. But this time I was hugely disappointed.
Ashanti came with lots of defects that I think are not acceptable. She has fingerprints on her front and on the shoulder. There is a huge gap between the headcap and the head (facepart). She has a huge gap between the upper arm joint and the shoulder on one side. She is heavily sanded and therefore discolored on both upper arm joints, both upper leg joints, both heels and the head and headcap. She has marks on her back, the front of her bust and her upper left leg that look as if a liquid ran over her. The blushing of the nipples and her hands were done rather sloppily. On one nipple there is paint missing where it seems to be chipped off. The hands are heavily sprayed in a reddish color leaving one blob of paint on one finger and the color of the nails comes around to the backside of one thumb. Then she has a lot of big seams which were partially sanded and slightly discolored and even some small white spots where the color of the resin is completely missing. On the insides of her forearms she has small bumps.... I think that was all-but it made me cry. Ashanti is the first doll I did not take out of the box restring and dress immediately. I was so looking forward to her, but then...

I wrote to IH and they told me to post pictures on their IHD Hospital page which I did. The response I got, made me really angry. They don't accept any fault at all and they don't even remark about the bigger defects, namely the gaps on her head and on her shoulder which shows clearly. So Ashanti will never be able to wear anything without sleeves.

Here is my explaining the defects to IH:

      >>>>>>The first picture shows how the headcap stands over the face.
      >>>>>>The second picture shows the big gap between headcap and face, the sanding discoloration and the fingerprint.
      >>>>>The third picture shows the left shoulder in repose, exposing a big gap and sanding marks which I do not see on my other dolls. They don't have gaps on their shoulders.
      >>>>And I forgot to mention another fingerprint/white mark on her shoulder. I do not have all these problems with my Kamau Sworddancer.
      >>>>The fourth picture shows the right shoulder. There is no gap but still sanding marks clearly to see.
      >>>>Both the thigh joints are equally heavily sanded and discolored. These places fortunately do not show openly as the ones at the shoulders do.
      >>>If You need, I can post pictures of that, too.
      >>>And both heels are sanded and heavily discolored, too. If needed, I can post pictures.
      >>>The body blushing is faulty as there is a paint spot missing on one of her nipples and on the hand there are marks and a color spot on one finger, the paint of one fingernails wraps around to the back of the finger and the blushing is rather heavy.
      >>>I just post one picture of a hand. If more pictures are needed, please tell me and I post some.
      >>On the sixth picture You see some bumps on her forearm near the inner side of the elbow joint. She has those on both her forearms.
      >In the seventh picture You see some of the marks that look a little as if some liquid ran over some parts. It is especially visible on the left thigh (picture) and the back but on the front bust, too.
      >
      >If You need any further pictures or information, please let me know. I check both my emails and Your boards frequently. But I will be out of town this week from Friday to Sunday.
      >
      >Have a nice day,
      >Astrid

I wrote about my disappointment in another post on the q&a board.

This is the answer I got:

      Hi, lovely friebus

      We've confirmed your photos..
First of all ,in case of the finger print of headcap, that stain can be covered when you put a wig,, so we don't consider it as damage ,, As we said before,, that can be made during manufacturing process ,,

And regarding sanding mark, it is also helpless,, that is made when we manufacture all dolls,
Especially for ebony color , bubble, dust, marbling are made due to difficulty of manufacturing,, we mentioned this matter in 'item notice'..
Due to this reason, we'd like to say that exchange or refund of Ashanti is not possible.
We will appreciate it if you understand our situation.

Thank you so much for your understanding in advance ^__^

I do not really understand and I would like most of all to at least be able to exchange the most damaged parts of her. This answer makes me even more sad and angry with a company I was really satisfied with up until now.

    24. >__< I finally received my replacement leg for my Asa (who I received at the end of June with a broken knee) and they gave me the wrong leg! She now has two perfectly fine right legs and a still broken left leg. I am really not pleased at all. :(

    25. Crystal&Masala - so sorry to hear about them problems :(

It seems like Iplehouse are going down the pan, and fast :(
If you're reading, iple, "stop churning out a new doll every month and SLOW DOWN!!"

    26. Oh! I'm so sorry to heat that Masala. That sucks! Also to Crystalenchantress... WOW! Just I, I don't know what to say! That's horrible! There are way too many issues there for it to be a non fixed problem. That's just disgusting and appalling customer service! I'm physically astounded, literally.

I'm just glad that my Kamau arrived without a single issue apart from a few seam lines that are of no issue to me since I expected them. Seems like rather than being the normal case lately, I was actually the exception! This is just horrible.

And to Callum91: HEAR HEAR! I couldn't agree more. No new dolls, take care of the issues with the other ones and up the customer service before bringing out new ones!

    27. crystalenchantress -- Really sorry to hear about all those issues with your girl! :(

Callum91 -- Thanks! I really agree with what you've said. Slowing down and paying more attention to quality control would be a really good thing for Iple and customers.

ArcaneDesires -- Thanks! I let them know on their board and they said it was a mix-up between customers. So I noted a second time with photos which leg needed to be replaced and circled it to make sure this mistake isn't repeated.

    28. Ahhh, well then I hope they get you the right leg this time. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it goes ok for you this time. *crosses them*

    29. I think I might mod the broken leg and extra leg and see if I can put non-Iple feet on them. I'd like a temporary solution just in case the resin hooks break in the feet.

    30. The doll should be perfect when you receive it. I have Amy with a special face up and body blush ordered from them. I hope I don't have problems. They are soo far away to have a problem to solve.

    31. crystal Sorry to hear that! I almost cry when I saw your post, it's just so irresponsible of IH! I think they should send a brand new doll to you :/

masala That's just ...dumb of IH, what's wrong with them??

I LOVE IH's sculpts and was planning to get a few in the future but all of this really makes me very angry at IH. Their dolls sure arent cheap and yet there are many problems with them!!

And I agree with Callum, I think someone should tell them to stop introducing new dolls and gain back their QC first... =w=

    32. I could suggest as well to post here some negative feedback for the company itself?
Maybe if IH stops selling that much the company wpuld at consider to not reply the old annoying riddle:
It's not a damage unless you can cover up with clothes or wig.

    33. since we are talking about dolls orders, i have question.
i ordered a JID I this last weekend. and after a day i didn't received any e-mail for invoice or anything.(by the way i was logged in as a member and all), So posted on the F&Q asking them about the e-mail and if i just should pay to their paypal account regardless if they sent me and invoice or not.
I go no reply until now. but then they cancelled my order and also didn't send any e-mails about it...
did i do something wrong? what happened... ? i they ignoring people ...? it's been almost a week...

    35. thanks heaps!
i did another order yesterday... but had no payment invoice e-mails yet. i posted another message on the board....
hope they will answer... but nothing so far...
if they cancel it again i'm not sure what to do....

    36. I purchased from Iple about a year and a half ago and while I was happy over all, the seam lines were really bad (not sharp but very uneven) and they sent the wrong chest size for my Tania. If I wanted to get the size I ordered I would have had to pay for the shipping. That upset me a bit - I think a good company would have either payed for shipping both ways or just sent the correct piece, depending on what was more cost efficient. I ordered a $200 table from dickblick and the glass top came broken - everything else was fine - and they just sent me a new one. Why couldn't Iple do the same? I am not spending $60+ to fix their mistake. I didn't think that much of it at the time but now it seems that problems like this are becoming more common.

Crystal, it seems like your doll was from the end of the molds life. Molds warp a bit after a lot of use and some areas could even break, which is probably why the arm didn't fit and that they had to sand her a lot. Some discoloration you can expect.. I'd even say a finger print is passable, but not all that sanding on a tan doll. They charge more for dark dolls because it is expected that some pieces won't be good enough and that they will have to remake them. Plus, they shouldn't use the molds for as long since problems can't be easily sanded away. Imo, if they want to just cover up their mistakes rather than canst more parts and make more molds, they should not charge more. I am sorry that you had such bad luck and Iple won't do anything about it. I love Ashanti too but I don't trust buying dark dolls (unless I knew I was getting one of the first casts).

    37. I had a similar problem Cacauflower. I didn't receive any confirmation when I placed my order for Asa. But I went ahead and sent my 1/3 payment to the information they gave on their Paypal account. I left a message on the boards and got no response from them yet, but when I went into my order, they had marked it to show that they received my payment of the 1/3 and that I was doing the layaway. I won't worry about it until after the weekend. If during the next work week I don't get a response, then I'll worry about it some more. lol

    38. Ennui: Check your order status, in the notes section. Iplehouse will note the date of payment in there if they received it. I don't know why they don't send out emails anymore, but all information is updated via your order sheet.

cacauflower: Iplehouse doesn't send out Paypal invoices. Once you make another order, send them the funds through Paypal and be sure to note your order number and web ID.

    39. wow
      really? Thanks LOZ64

I just sent payment through paypal now... and left a message on the Q & A Board, i hope it works this time!

    40. Yeah that's where I noticed my payment was received. I haven't been getting any contact from them which was sort of annoying. I remember and checked my email and saw I never got confirmation of my Membership joining, when I placed the order, nor when they received payments. :-/ Oh well.

    41. yay! it worked!!!!

      Thanks Ennui and LOZ64!!!!
I sent the payment to their paypal and posted on the board, and this morning on the order it said : Before shipping

Ennui: What does yours say now ? I'm a bit annoyed too that they never answered any of my questions or sent any e-mails through the whole process.... thank God for you guys....

    42. No one has posted any scary doll stories in a month or so, so I'm wondering...has anyone who has received a doll this month had issues? I really want to order a Tania around October or December, but I'm scared too if this issues aren't resolved.

    43. I had some issues with Pay Pal (my fault) and the custom service was very helpful trying to send the funds back into my paypal account, so I can reorder again. The problem was solved and was able to order my Tania. She arrived perfect with no broken parts, nothing. There was minor rough seams, but I knew that was nothing new when it comes to these dolls.

Again, I had problems with their site glitching this month. I wanted an outfit to go with my " RS I" I ordered, but it said it was out of stock. After I bought something for my doll I have, the item was not out of stock when I checked. I sent a message + my order payment stuff on the board. Next day, they replied back that I can order the outfit, and they can combine it with the doll and things I already ordered to save on shipping.

So far, I had any issues with the services or the doll. I guess some people weren't as lucky as others. Still a great company with beautiful dolls, it was shocking to see others having problems.

    44. My Benny got here in as perfect a condition as you can expect of a tanned doll. :) Pretty even tone with barely noticible marbling in places...her seams weren't even that bad. I know at least one person on the Benny waiting room had problems with her so you may want to check over there as well.

    45. Thank you for the updates guys. ^_^

    46. I ordered an Amy Yid from iplehouse a while ago and she has no visable flaws. I also recieved her very quickly. The only problem I've been having is that the little joint in her right wrist constantly falls out. It is very small so when it does fall out, it's lucky if I find it again. So far i've had to replace it twice.

    47. I have received my EID Jessica, normal skin, urethane resin a week ago an she is absolutely perfect. I have ordered her with the faceup type b (smokey type) and it is flawless, too.

      //edit:
I have been worried about the quality of Iple´s dolls, too after hearing some complaints here on the board and I am glad that my girl arrived without any problems. I hope they will keep the good work up.

(The only thing that I personally don´t like so much is that the use a very subtle, silky gloss for ther Lips and eyes. It isn´t looking as glossy as normal glosses- just very light. It´s perfectly done and everything but if you like the lips of your doll to really shine and sparkle you will have to add gloss yourselves)

    48. I received my normal skin EID Yur about 3 weeks ago, and inspected it carefully, after reading this thread. The only problem I had was that her left leg was hard to straighten at the knee after bending. Its like the joint had a hard time slipping into place. I posted a message at Iplehouse, and they said not to worry about it, after I keep playing with her for a while, it will fit better. It looks like they are right, its definitely getting easier to bend the knee back and forth by now; the joint is slipping in the lower part smoothly now.

I wish they would inspect the dolls for this kind of thing before sending it out though...

    49. I just ordered the Tania they had on limited edition and paid my first payment since i have her on layaway.. im kinda scared now.. i hope she arrives with no issues or problems after i finish paying her off.

    50. Don't worry too much, because it won't really solve anything. Most orders arrive just fine, but sometimes they don't--and you just can never tell. I ordered from Iplehouse and everything arrived in perfect condition in July. I've got another Iplehouse doll on order. Hopefully, everything will be OK.

    51. Either Iple is improving on quality control again or people with problems just aren't on the boards/posting about it. I'm really hoping for the former e_e; Crossing my fingers for all of you waiting for dolls to arrive.

    52. Also hoping that Iple have upped their customer service. I'm just glad that my one and most likely only ever experience with them wasn't tainted with problems.

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you all who have ordered lately! And if there is anyone who reads this and has had problems but not posted, or had no problems, please post so we know whether Iple are upping their customer service or not. Good luck guys!

    53. It's good to hear that things seem to be going so well with Iple! That's soooo comforting! Maybe when those of you who have ordered recently receive your dolls you can post here with your experience, if only to keep the thread up to date? Thanks everyone!

    54. Since this thread has slowly been taking on a secondary purpose I'm thinking I should change the title and add a note to the first post to reflect that. It might encourage more people to post as well. Any suggestions as to what I might change it to?

    55. Is it just the way it is that Iplehouse not answers to Emails or questions on the Q and A Board?! I bought an Akando and some clothes and shoes from there but they don´t answer any of my questions.......the only thing i see is that my order is "before shipping" since 34 Days!

    56. Iplehouse is usually pretty good with answering their Q and A board. They did just have a holiday last week, so I would think that they are catching up to all the questions they got while they were away. Also, in regards to the order status, I think "before shipping is the status after they receive your payment, and then it becomes "on shipping" when they actually ship your order.

    57. I'm so happy I read this. I was thinking of buying the Y.I.D "I" from IP, but after hearing all the complaints and issues regarding their finished products I'm really scared. This is my 1st doll and would not know how to fix these problems myself.

These dolls are very expensive and I would expect to get what I pay for. This really has me concerned. Would any of you suggest that I go through with my purchase??

Wish you all the best of luck.

    58. Going from the lack of more recent complaints they seem to be doing better (and even before there was actually a greater percentage of dolls arriving perfectly fine). It really should be your own decision, based on what you feel comfortable with. Yes, there's a chance there could be problems (this is actually the case with any doll company, some are just better at handling problems when they occur than others [customer service]). If you were to encounter any problems you could either go to customizers on the board for assistance in getting them fixed (extra costs), or if they are severe enough Iplehouse does sometimes resolve the issues (e.g. replacement parts).

In your case, you may want to base the decision on just how much you want the particular mold being considered. In this hobby I've found that it generally works better to go for the doll you like the most, even if it does end up costing you a bit more.

Of course, with a few more months on the board and a few more posts you could gain access to the Marketplace where members sell dolls second hand. Alternately, BJD are often listed on ebay. If you can find the YID you like that way you could get around any concerns dealing with Iplehouse. You know exactly what you're getting, assuming the seller has added an appropriate description and photographs, and the wait time is less since you do not have to wait for the doll to be produced. (If you do decide to go this route, always exercise caution when dealing with a transaction via the Internet, and be sure to check out the seller's feedback. It is unfortunately the case that there are Internet scams everywhere.)

Personally, if I desire to buy more IP dolls in the future, I plan to try to purchase second hand before dealing with the company themselves again.

    59. I've just ordered a JID from Iplehouse a few weeks back... and I just wanted to know what's the usual waiting time for your dolls to arrive? Are they usually quick or slow?(within 50 days?) Sorry if this is a repeated question.
