Valentinegirl Thanks for the info from Iplehouse. I really hoped the KID's would be out first but that's okay. Gives me more time to save for one. I wouldn't mind a BID too but I already have 2 Yo's and I assume they're going to be about the same size.

 

I love those sets and have repeatedly considered getting Cherry Classic for Chelsea but was too nervous about the fit to commit that much money.

My experience with Dollheart on a large breasted JID has been hit and miss. Skirts fit fine, although they are sometimes a bit shorter than on the models. As for shirts, Miss Noble Blue fits, but is tight (a bit obscene on the old style bodies with the glass cutting nipples), and the outer shirt for D is for Daisy fits (I got this in a fukubukuro so I don't know about the inside shirt). The tops for Dark Gem and Silver Blue do not fit and since Silver Blue opens in the front, it can't be faked. The other thing to be aware of is that the bigger chests would bring the waist of a dress up so even if it closes, it might not fall quite right.

Since I think Lily is small breast being a trapeze version, you'll probably have better luck. I think someone posted in the clothing thread showing that Dark Gem still didn't fit a small breast JID, but it was much much closer than on Chelsea. I do have pics of Chelsea in most of her Dollheart in the clothing thread.

Well, Johnny's sister, my Jessica, has black hair, and in my storyline they've both always had black hair... least I'm pretty sure he did... If anything, not like I can't switch them between ren/med times and modern times. After all, they also have a part in a comic of mine that's set in modern times and they're weapons specialists despite their ages.

Today I've been playing with the evilest fabric of all time, it's afraid of needles! Any pinmark ever made shows. But I figured I could spam half my girl in her new tights and sneakspam the newest and tiniest member of my household.

Hippolovergurl, I never really have a plan for the dolls I buy, I just fall in love and buy, LOL. So it's normal for me to have to wait for them to reveal themselves to me Sometimes it comes right out and sometimes it takes a while And sometimes I think I got it, and yet they change the idea when they arrive or they just don't fit my plan, LOL (a plan always created for the doll, not the doll to fit a plan)

Ingiebee, it's one of the several wigs that came with Charlie. I have a sort of "default" wig, for both my girls. Elena is a red head and Charlie is blonde, but I think of it like Charlie would totally dye her entire head pink for no reason and Elena would go though most colors in the spectrum except blonde, hence the black wig I bought for her.

 

I'm sorry, as strawberryblossom corrects me, I get the names mixed up (I get ALL names mixed up, something wrong with my brain wiring! sorry!) Oh well

Hubby and I are living in one room with the contents of our former house in it so I'm limited to what dolls I can fit on my already-crowded desk. Once we both have good jobs and a house though.. all bets are off.

 

Mandalina, they are boots. I can't tell you right off where they are from since I got them with Charlie. Lorti could say, though.

I hope you can find a way to get a house before this recession is over, it's a great time to buy a house for those young people who have the down payment! That's what we did in the recession of the early 90's, and I can tell you, there is NO way we could afford a house around here only a year after that! we were incredibly lucky and found a forclosed fixer upper nobody wanted to touch, but we made it a home

Merili : JIDs are prolly slightly taller than normal MSD. My friend had a Dollzone MSD Boy and Melody was taller than he was. Though with the molds you're asking for I dunno X3 Just thought I'd throw that out there for you.

Congratulations, merili! I haven't yet taken pictures of my Tania with her girlfriends (a MNF and a BBB) but I'm also not sure if they're similar in size to your Bluefairy Tiny Fairy or B&G MSD?? I just went to Pupa Paradise and was looking at their stuff and discovered they recently added facemasks. For those of us that have gotten dolls without faceups, we don't get a face mask, so I thought you all might want to check them out. I dove in and bought a dozen because I currently have 6 minis at home and plan on 5 others in the upcoming year (2 for my daughter, 3 for myself) So that makes 10, plus room to expand, LOL. Seriously, though, they're so cheap, I thought I'd give a heads up on them. I suspect they're going to fit loosely, but if I have to, I'll just add larger foam in the head room area, no biggie. Volks sells 2 for $9, so these are way cheaper, also, I don't think the Volks version straps on or anything, which I kind of like about these.

Actually I don't think Iple sends facemasks with any of their dolls. I know Lily didn't come with one. Maybe cause their so tightly packed Iple thinks they don't need them?

 

Cal just had some really tightly wrapped bubblewrap on his head, no mask so I'm guessing Iple doesn't send masks. They don't sell them either as I recall so that makes sense...

Oh forgot, sorry, the shipping was $5.80 if you take regular shipping. I've never had trouble getting packages that way, you just don't get tracking and it's a little slower than EMS (which costs around $35 if you choose that method)

To store my dolls, I wrap them up in baby blankets (hey, got a bunch, might as well use 'em again ) And a face mask would really keep down any rubbing of the material on their faces.

 

Wow, I miss a couple days, and it takes forever to catch up! Whew!

Yes, my Calista (formerly spcecadet's Stella ) is here with me now; she's perched on my computer desk actually, getting to know Celeste and the rest of my crew. I promise some spam soon-- what with work, kids' spring break Easter traveling, and birthday parties, I haven't had much time to play with my dolls. Hopefully soon to be remedied...

kadepie, I hope you are home soon, and settled in with your dolls! I forget-- are you going to NC, or away from NC? Cause I live in Roanoke VA, right across the border (waves) Moving is awful. I ended up carting most of my dolls along with me to our very teeny temporary apartment a couple years ago while our new house was being built...they were cumbersome and took up a lot of room, but I was glad to have em along. Yes, I'm addicted...I even take a doll with me on vacation (Celeste came with us to D.C. over spring break!)

Ciantha, those are some AWESOME pants! Are they pleather? I agree, that stuff is tough to sew!

And Shuga, you posted a cute blue print sundress a few pages back...just wanted to let you know how cute it is! Love the big floppy hats too!

As for my sewing...as much as I love the JIDs, I HATE sewing for them. As I may have mentioned before, pattern drafting is not my cup of tea.... I took apart a pair of BFC pants and tried to use them to make a pattern for some crop pants for Calista, and they were HUGE in the waist. Ugh. Then I tried to adapt an SD pattern to make some little knit tops for my girls...again, fail. So right now I'm frustrated and not looking at the evil sewing machine. Maybe later this week I will try again....

 

Hmmm. The addition of face masks must be a newer thing. Rowan came with one (I got her last Christmas) but Gemma did not (I got her last summer) And some other JID box opening I have seen have come with them.
I personally like the change. When I got Gemma, one of her eyelashes was already off before I took her out of the box, and I think a face mask would have prevented this.
They look just like a plastic bubble lid you get on top of a slushy or smoothie. Its kinda weird lol

Btw: I asked iple why Amy wasn't in the Noctracana circus and if they planned to add her in. I also asked if BID's and KID's would be part of the circus troupe. This was their reply:


Amy was not in the circus, but instead, we were selling her in special edition.
Now, it is not fixed by which character will be made for BID & KID.
Actually, it is not decided yet if they will be included in the circus.

Stick with JID's, Giodrakes, they're such a lovely size! Seriously nice size. I don't think YID's would be too large, but those EID's, man they're huge! I love the weight and size of the JID, weighty yet smallish, easy to sew for still (for what I can sew of course, LOL)

 

Cruuuuud! D: I want an older version of Johnny, my JID Ryan... EID Evan in RS is TOTALLY an older version of Ryan! But... ; ; DANGIT!

I think IH doesn't like me. Two days ago my IH GO shipped, I had ordered the black pair of JID shoes... and what does IH do? They ofcourse go and realse two new pairs of JID shoes one of them being a black pair which Shayla demands to have.

Looking at your comission thread it really is difficult to believe that you don't draft patterns, the fit is quite extraordinary... but I agree that the JIDS are a tad difficult at best.
JID girls, especially the big busted kind, eats darts for breakfast. I have this horrid like for tailored clothing which really is a hell when it comes to these girls.
If you want a pants pattern I can see if I can find a scanner at school... it'd just be a basic pant but given what a good seamstress you are I'm guessing you could make something awesome out of it.

 

Good point... That was something I was kinda thinking of... because if I DON'T get Evan right now... I can pay my Tedros off early! Then I can have Johnny, Bea, and her love interest (still no name ) in a "family" photo! Kinda... I like the scruffy faceup that Iple has for Tedros, but from what I've seen of the owner photos of that faceup, I'm glad I didn't get it. It's too... light. My Tedros is going to be the most masculine man I have. Still debating getting the black and gold old style suit Iple has for him. Wish they had that in the JID size... I would DEFINITELY get it for Johnny!

IngieBee Thanks! That necklace that Bea is wearing atm is an "official" PotC necklace. It was the most pirate looking one I had at the time so I wrapped it around her neck a few times and that's basically the only/main piece of jewelery she's been wearing since she got here.

Also, thanks for the comments on her faceup you guys. Means a lot since I suck at them and that's just her temp until I come back from the convention I'm going to near the end of the month, I'll be dropping her off at my face artist's house on my way home from it.
