Oh man, I am so excited to get my pants this week! I think it'll show up by Saturday, though it could take until next week, but I'm so excited!!! They'll be too cool!!!

Well. Today was eventful. But I think the info will be at least slightly useful.

I was taking Elena apart to give her a bath. Her knees have been collection dust on the inside (which is something I would suggest looking to look out for) and it's been rubbing off on the outside of her knees when she bends. (I mean, I just noticed this a couple of days ago and have had her sitting so it won't stain) So I figured I'd just run everything over with mild soap and water, since I have the time. That part of the plan has worked and all her various parts are now drying.

The event was I had her head wrapped in a blanket and was going to put it in my room when I finished labeling the tubs for left and right, and in the process I managed to knock over the blanket which unrolled and flung her head on the floor. I had a temporary heart attack and picked up her head to find all of these terrible spider cracks on her nose.

So I stepped outside, since we had the back doors open, to get a look at the damage in a better light. Guess what? It was the MSC. I gently ran my thumb over her nose and all this MSC started flaking off. Her nose is perfectly find beyond a now slight bald patch clear of MSC. I now have an excuse to get some when Volks re-stocks.

Moral of this story? Iplehouse apparently used enough MSC to save my girl from a cracked nose from a good four foot drop onto tile.


Also, for anyone curious, I have discovered a Qtip is just long enough to run along the inside of Iple parts to make sure there is not any stray water drops.

I will be recieving a JID Jerome and was wondering if the Iplehouse mini's boys can fit into Guess Doll clothes from DDE? I know that the pants doesn fit very well on MNF's boys.

ThrowMyFaith, I'm so sorry! If you happen to have any msc, sometimes, a light coat can "heal" a scar? You might want to try it?

Ok, I'm so excited!!! My jeans from NaruSasu have arrived!!! OMG they're sooooooo cool! A little stiff, LOL, so I'm gonna try washing them and using fabric softener. I'm noticing that if I were any good at photography, I would have made sure the pants piled on the floor, not up the leg, ugh! The material is thin, and it is soft, it's just brand new. I'm hoping it'll shrink a little as well, as the pants are a bit loose. But not too bad at all! Especially if you let them hang down a little on the hips. Oh wow, I see he needs to wear these without a shirt, I can't imagine a shirt that would make him look even better, LOL. NaruSasu also sent the necklace. It's askew, but I thought that works well with his personality, not to be fussy about how his necklace is sitting, LOL. It's a really cute little dog tag! Love it! Anyway, without further ado, here are some pictures!!!




I think this is as fancy has he'll take it. He's not adverse to being stylish as long as there is a sense of casualness to it all. My future boy will be more of a GQ style monkey, and my future MNF boy will be totally into punk/emo stuff Oh, I can't wait!

Oh, one more, 'cause I'm bad... I got this pocket watch (a working charm) for him at JoAnn's for half price (around $6) So cool :P



These jeans are so dark in real life... I'm now wondering if I should get black jeans from G_T or blue? LOL. Can't wait for those either!... but I still need to save money!

 

Sigh, yes, I need to acquire more money... yes, more money, LOL. Don't care for the stuff, but I sure like what I can get with it, LOL.

OMG, I would have heart attack! Thank god it was only spray coating!!! I need to give Daiya some body sprays too to prevent him from yellowing ><

 

Oh My GOSH! Ok, so those Jeans I got from NaruSasu, I decided to try to soften them up (not that they were stiff, the material is perfect, just so NEW) Anyway, I was hoping to shrink it just a bit too, so I put them in a pot of nearly boiling water with detergent. I don't think that shrunk 'em at all, didn't look like anything much happened to them, except that a bit, little bit, of color came out as will happen with any blue jeans.

Ok, so I then soak it in Downy fabric softener to soften them... then put them in the dryer with a load of darks. So I just took 'em out, and OMG, they suddenly are HUGGING Him like... OMG, he is soooooo SEXY in them, I can't believe it! They did shrink, and shrunk just the right amount! They're made of a one way (side to side orientation) stretch and the length, man this seamstress knows what she is doing, because they shrunk to exactly the right length, not too long, not too short, even when sitting! Talk about sitting, when he sits, it doesn't pop much in the back, He can sit, it's tight/bulky, but I don't think it can be done any better with any other material (it's much better than any of the pants I've made!) Unless you put tights on him... that's not gonna happen to MY boy!!!, LOL. Well, come to think of it, I won't rule it out... for a costume, LOL.

I can't wait to take pictures tomorrow in the daylight. I don't want to take icky night time flash pictures...

Anyway, Amazing work, really. So I'm gonna do an exposé on the JID clothing thread as soon as I can get updated photos tomorrow Yaaaayyyyy

Oh G_T, I can't wait, but actually for me, later is better, I still need to collect money, one last payment on two dolls I have on layaway (a doll and a body) THEN, I'll be able to collect a bit o cash, ugh! It's starting to look like I'll need closer to Christmas Hopefully I can make it though! I can't wait to get your jeans, the incredible scaling isn't really matched by Naru, they're two different styles entirely Still, it's awesome to have another source for clothes!

 

Hm. Iplehouse put up some information on their holiday event. Kinda decent -- free random wig with each doll you order, and sale prices on clothing and shoes. I think I'll wait until it starts to order Mars so I can see what is on sale first, so I don't kick myself later. I want to own a few Iplehouse clothing pieces and/or outfits for my crew. ^^

Yah, but knowing my luck, the girls cat outfit will be out of stock when the knight outfit is in, or those cute little boots... which are out of stock right now.. UGH Just can't get it all in one shipment! I've kinda decided I need the huge doll carrier. I think I can fit 6 Mini's in it, as long as I give them a wrap with something to protect exposed skin ;P 6 minis would be nice to fit into one bag, all feet toward the center, pyramid of two on the bottom, one on the top... I really think it's doable! Need... big... carrier.... ugh! It will also give me a reason to STOP buying mini's once I acquire 6 of em... #6 of course would kick my daughter's mini out of the bag, LOL

Grumpy_Thai, your Yuzuki is beautiful, wonderful that things got worked out to where you're happy with her. The NC 'Sword Dance' I make up on her looks gorgeous! And I totally know what you mean about RS looking lighter in pictures -- even so, it photgraphs nicely -- I think it may be the French resin that is mixed in that may give the Real Skin is translucency?

Congrats, Itouchstars! "Myfanwy" is a Welsh name, isn't it? I know of a person on a different forum (for collectors of a different type of doll) that has a doll with that name, and if I recall right, the character she has for her doll is Welsh.

And I'm so glad that today is Friday. I totally thought it was Friday yesterday, and was very sad when I realized that it wasn't. D: And since its Friday, that means that I can sew! But why is it that I want to sew stuff for the girlie that isn't here yet, rather than clothing my other girl, and my boy too? I don't want them to be stuck forever in items that I've sewn mostly for decency's sake. xD

And I've a question for those of you that own both a large and small bust girl -- can they share tops okay? I'm wondering if I'm going to have to have a set of top patterns for my small bust Tania -- my Tati has the large bust. And I don't want to make an off-shoulder top for my Tania that will just end up sliding down and showing off her tatas, because it will have been sized on my Tatiana LOL. xD

oh! about the size, I don't have a small bust girl, but I thought I should mention that JID boy and girl can share bottoms (girls can wear boys pants, I mean) I've tried on some of Daiya (Ryan)' s pants on Yuzuki, and the size is very similar. Although, the fitting is not perfect (since girl body has slimmer waist, the belt part of the pants don't fit well) but if you don't mind that, girls can wear boys clothes as well^^

 

Yes, worrying about little things is just stress that isn't needed. Stress over dollies makes them less enjoyable. ;~; I can't wait to see more pictures of Yuzuki! Maybe they look lighter in pictures because the resin picks up and reflects a lot of light, and cameras pick up and enhance things that we usually don't see with our own eyes? I don't know -- I don't know much about French resin, or resin in general. Or photography for that matter. Even though I work at a photography studio (just data entry and sometimes photo editing) .

I noticed that the boys and girls are similarly sized on the bottom as well! I made a pair of pajama pants for Kale once, and they were a little bit short, so I figured that I'd just let Asalie wear them as really baggy lounge wear. They were just as short on her too, and she filled the back of them out as much as Kale did, if not more LOL Knowing this also comes in handy when drafting patterns for them -- get it right for either of them, and then it will probably take just a little bit of altering to get it right for the other.

I'm still working on my own jeans pattern (I can only work on it a little bit during the weekends). I tried to take an existing pattern and tweak it to fit. It got to the point where I was like, "if I have to alter it here, here, here, AND there; I might as well redraw the whole thing from scratch!" So that's what I'm doing. While I'm working on them, I usually have a pair of my own jeans nearby, turned inside out so that I can see how they're pieced together. Its a lot of work, but hopefully it will be worth it in the end. ^^

The lighting in my bathroom isn't the best so I'll try and take a better picture later but this gives you an idea of how awesome he looks fully blushed... And when I say fully blushed, I mean fully blushed as you can see from the happy trail. She'll be offering her blushing services here once she reaches full marketplace access!

 

Thanks Quirked! I had the same problem with blushing but it turned out really well!

It's really easy to fix if you mess it up, you just wipe the pastels away and start over then seal the final product. I'm just not very good at things that require a lot of dexterity so I passed the task on... I'm pretty glad I did though!

 

Hahaha! It doesn't bother me one bit but I do like to respect the range of ages that frequent the forums!

I asked circe-nausicca about the chipping and flaking issue. Apparently this happens in high heat or humidity or if you use too much MSC. There is some scratching, but that's inevitable since you're touching and moving blushed areas a lot. She also recommends unstringing your doll and doing each piece individually for best results! If you have any other questions about blushing (or tattooing, that's the next step for Cal!) feel free to ask through me or send her a PM!

Also, circe reminded me I can PM you a picture of his junk if you want to check out the blushing! I must say it looks awesome!

she has a chin blush too (which was unexpected :p)
also... if you are thinking of lighter color hair for her, I think it's better to get dark brown brows. Yuzuki has black brows and she looks funny with light color hairs. lol.

As for MSC substitues, this gigantic thread in the Painting/Aesthetics sub-forum has a lot of information -- from what I gather from it, good alternatives to MSC are ZM Finishing Powder Spray from Volks, Model Masters Lusterless Flat, and Testor's Dullcote. Testor's has a yellow cast to it, it seems though.

Some people I know definitely prefer MSC, and if not MSC, Model Masters. I thought about getting myself an inexpensive victim and some Model Masters Lusterless Flat to practice on before I try anything with Asalie or Kale. Although my incoming girl is a Basic, rather than a Limited... so maybe I could use her as my victim? xD

 

So, I apparently fell off the face of the world for a while, thanks to a family emergency and limited Internet. My basic Joshua arrived earlier in the month, but I have not yet had time to do a proper photoshoot with him. Here's the one quck snapshot I managed of him that wasn't completely full of fail.

My boy is double jointed? You know though, those joints fall into the arms and get stuck! It could be your doll is double jointed but you never noticed the thingy in there, LOL. I've seen people make hinges (well, they're sort of supposed to be hinged) but the do a reinforcement. I'm thinking of doing that to Fred's knees. They're hard to control (find) when he has clothes on!

The girls are in fact double jointed. Well their elbows are anyhow. The thing is that you sort of have to pull out the arm to use the double joint. I discovered it by mistake a while ago... I really like the extra poseability (sp?) it gives the arms, while maintaining a sleek look when they aren't in use.


ETA: Hearing what Ingie said about the doublejointed knees of the boys I decided to go on a joint hunt. The girls do have double jointed knees!

 

OH! Yeah, I found Stella's double joints about a month or two ago, its the only way she can touch her face without me hold her arm in place. Same with the knee double joints, only, not about her face. LOL.

And, OMG. Just saw the new Elder IH put up, and I really want them to make a JID cat-girl, or some sort of animorphic girl, cause yeah. I'd snatch her up in a minute. MAYBE A FAUN? Hahah, that would be perfect.

 

i was kinda hoping the new eid would be a faun since shes all gentle looking, but yeah, i wish they did a cute jid, too! even something uuber too cute like a mouse chimaera i think would send me into a coma of love XDD

Aww. I double-checked the tracking number on the delivery notice I got yesterday, and its for the package I'm waiting on that isn't doll related.

But. While I'm out picking it up, I'm going to go in search of doll-scale prints, and hopefully get some stuff to make shirts for my dolls this afternoon/evening. And some leggings for the girls too, hopefully. Haven't worked on boy pants for awhile though... I should probably work on those, yeah? Because even if I order some from Iplehouse, it will be awhile before I get them since I'm ordering a doll at the same time.

Moniee, Luca is 15(ish) and belongs to my fantasy world of Elaris. He is from a very lower-class family and is basically one step up from a street urchin. Still, he is an optimist, hence his eternal smile. To earn extra money for the family, his father agreed to loan him to a very powerful mage named Cyrianus Ferlae (my Dia male), and Cyr has used Luca for a variety of weird and probably painful experiments that Luca remains tight-lipped about. He endures them, with a smile, because his time at Cyr's place means he gets to see Rosamund (my Tania), Cyr's "adopted" daughter (he kidnapped her when she was an infant after murdering her parents), and he gets to play with a real-live infant demon (Auberon, my Glati, who Cyr acidentally summoned during his younger days).

Luca has an enormous crush on Rose, but Rose is far too much of a jaded soul to fully recriprocate.


Cyberspacegirl, my Tania, which I ordered in February, is double-jointed like that. I didnt realize it until a couple of weeks ago, though, when I found out completely by accident. She has the most amazing posability in her arms. Joshua has the same arm mechanism.

hahaha thanks for the numbers. however, those numbers are inaccurate because they often shift their stock between English, Korean and Japanese site. So when I ordered my Ryan, they only had 2 left (back in June) but shortly after, the number increased to 10. lol.

Well, actually, that's only the outfit and trapeze thingy, as I've deducted / added the stuff I could buy separately to the Normal list... but I did forget the eyes, they're eyeco like or nicer eyes too... yah

I don't really think the dolls are unpopular so much as I think sales are probably slower due to the economy?? But really, I dunno.... They're beautiful IMO
