@EmanonUK - Thank you! I don't see many Hannahs out there... Here she is again for one more photo...more of a close up. Myna by luluna33, on Flickr
To change the subject somewhat, does anyone know where I could get KID boy clothes on this side of the puddle (or maybe on the continent). Everything seems to be for girls and mostly from the Far East. IH has surprised me with an early shipping notice and I don’t have a thing for a boy. He’s a Beau (NS) btw.
I have a slightly off the wall idea that may help. I was clearing out a draw the other day and came across a bag of elf on the shelf clothes that my grand daughter no longer wanted. I tried them on my Lonnie a lot of them fitted it's a bit hit and miss the pink and yellow raincoats fit but the hats don't for example. Lonnie is wearing the pink dressing gown at the moment which fits her well and I have the grey one as well. The outfits are on ebay UK ( I'm in the UK as well ) they are the really cheap ones running about £2-£3 each I'm going to order a pair of pyjamas and an English football kit when I get back from work. Hope this helps.
Oh thanks for your help Valentia. I will have a look. I did get some Elf on the Shelf Christmas jumpers and they kind of fit but he currently has it on back to front so it looks less seasonal.
Thanks. I also have a Daisy boy. He's Prince David in my Royal family.... I have a fair girl Faye, I've never been that happy with, and wanted a new, nicer KID girl to replace her., and I really like Daisy, so ordered one in Normal. It's great how you can have two of the same sculpt, yet have them look so different.
Oh your boy is cute too! It looks as if you can play up the smile or tone it down as well. Yes it's amazing that they each look so different with a different face up!
Thanks. They were both painted by a friend of mine, each one specifically as either a 'boy' or a 'girl'.
Not directly, at least not in the same family. But I guess in a round about sort of way they are distant relatives. Some of my contemporary KIDs had a cookie exchange recently.... They are Angela, Aaron (Ah-ra), Peach, and Milo (Millie)
I have been very occasionally lucky trawling etsy. Sometimes if you look at measurements you can get a piece here and there from nine9style. One thing I have not tried yet, but may be a deep well, is Dollmore Narsha sized clothing. Narsha dolls are similarly sized and Dollmore has a number of sets for them, but I haven't yet had the guts to make an order.
I have Narsha clothes and a Kid. I will try some on. ask again if I don't post anything in a few days. Life has been hectic here.
Daisy offers her hand after defeating David at the chess tournament. "Well played!" David is also a Daisy sculpt. Watching is Addiction Lisa.
@AdanneO that wig is perfect for her, good choice. @MB Lilac Lisa looks like she is ready to take on the winner for the next match!
She is lovely! Love the way you have her posed. She looks pensive dreaming about that unicorn she wants to be
Thank you! She does want to be a unicorn (hence the necklace) but all she had for now is a pointy hat.
Hopefully this is the right forum to ask this in… I have just ordered a limited Iplehouse KID, but I was going through their other limited KID sculpts and realize that the listings may be several years old. It looks like the one I bought, Reese, was released in 2020! (source:Reese, Hannah & Esi – BJD Collectasy) I hope my order goes through and I have not purchased a discontinued sculpt Does anyone know what the deal is?
But why is a limited sculpt from 4 years ago still available? Sorry, I have never bought a limited doll before, I just assumed ‘limited’ meant available for only a season, or something like that. I was just wondering if others had more knowledge on this.
Did you buy him directly from Iplehouse? edit: Oh! I found Reese on the limited page. This looks like a re-release as the options don't seem to be the same as the original release.
Also, when the releases ended you could order most of those heads through the Doll Choice system. So even if people don't catch the sale there you could still order these cuties, just not with the outfits or special parts etc.
Yes, it does look like her animal feet are no longer available. But that’s ok, I didn’t want those I was able to get the dress in the product photos, too. I’m so excited! Thank you all for the info
Iplehouse and a lot of other companies re-open limited dolls for events. Iplehouse offers some limited sculpts in doll choice as well.
@MB Lilac your photos are always such a delight to see! My RS 'Hannah' is almost finished, just a final coat of MSC then varnish and she can be put back together. I based her faceup on the beautiful peoples of Tibet but at the same time tried to make it so she wasn't completely tied down to one particular ethnicity. No idea of a name yet, wouldn't even know where to begin finding a suitable one as I don't want to be disrespectful to any communities. Iplehouse KID Hannah by Ali MacTavish-Riach, on Flickr
@Blodeuwedd - She's really beautiful. Great job! I'm terrible at naming, so usually just stick with the sculpt name, unless mine is a boy, or the sculpt has a really awful name.
Thank you @MB Lilac, yeah I've become really dreadful at thinking of names, used to be good at it but middle-age brain fog just scuppers me every time nowadays Oh my goodness @AdanneO I forgot to comment on how gorgeous your girl is, that wig is perfect for her! Here's my still unnamed girl, I need to get her eyes with slightly smaller irises as the ones I'd put aside for her went to another doll and also a very dark brown or soft black wig. No idea what possessed me to buy the reddish one she's currently wearing, seemed a good idea at the time but I'm sure one of my other dolls can use it. The dress is an Iplehouse one. Wigs I ordered from Natrume arrived a few weeks ago, only recently tried the one I got for my girl on her. It has completely changed how I was feeling about her. She looks much prettier. The dress she's wearing is a Minifee sized one from DDE, it fits nicely but the apron part is slightly too tight, only one popper fastens. I think she has claimed it though! @LyanneNZ, @BrigitteJ thank you both I’m much happier with the way she looks now, I can see her running barefoot through a field not caring if she got her dress dirty. She can be herself now.
Milo and Lonnie and their little brother and sister, glued to their devices the second they came home from their trip...
What a fabulous photo @MB Lilac, like LyanneNZ I too love the details such as the discarded shoes, teddy, hoodie and bag just dumped on the floor.
@LyanneNZ & @Blodeuwedd - Thank you. I took the photos for the ending of a story from 2015 where that family went on a cross country RV trip to the Pacific and back. The story never had a proper ending, so I came up with the unpacking scenes where the kids are too glued to their devices to help out. The story ends with Lonnie making a scrapbook journal of the family trip....
Has anyone bought a doll from Iplehouse lately with a face up? I have wanted a Lonnie with make up A forever. I'm a little hesitant to order her, though, because I read a while back, that the face ups have not been consistent. I'd love to hear the opinion of anyone who has seen a recent order. Thanks!
I saw someone get an EID Rex recently and the bearded face up was lovely. I usually buy blank dolls. Just stopping by to share a photo of Lonnie... A Child and her Teddy Bear by LyanneNZ, on Flickr
