Iplehouse Kid K.I.D. 35cm discussion part 5

May 25, 2016

    1. @MB Lilac mine is a girl, her name will be Nala, i think she will have soft and veeeeery curl blond hair (as african hair style, i love) i can't wait XD when did you order the doll? i ordered 15 days ago... my wait is long :(

@Roterwolkenvogel thank you for the info, i never had a doll with this size! about your dolls.. what can i say... I LOVE!! your dolls are A M A Z I N G!

    2. I ordered my Ah-ra on February 27, just before the cut-off. There were several other dolls on the discontinued list that I would have loved, but my collection is getting a bit out of hand, so I opted just for Ah-ra. I had originally thought of getting a girl to be an older sister for my Byuri, but decided at the last minute that if I got a boy, I'd have a friend for my other KID boy, and Byuri can have a brother instead. Mine is Special Real skin, and will be coming blank. Which means an additional wait for a face up once he's here.

    3. In my wishlist there are many dolls out of stock or limited, is impossible buy everything i want but i hope in secondary market.
One day i will have everything XD (joke)
I ordered mine in normal skin and blank i bought a fist hand for her too, fortunately i do faceup by myself. I have friend faceup artist too but i think i will love work on her cute face ^_^

    4. Bonnie & Abby (Peach) got new togs!

    5. Yay for the incoming Ah-ras! Hope you spam them quite a lot! ;-)

I recently made my Ricky (Lonnie boy) a new wig, wanted to try a shorter haircut for his contemporary persona.

The camera flash made it waaay too shiny, it is not like this in the real life at all but nevermind, I will use another camera next time.

    6. Great job on the wig @Airike !:thumbup I also have wigs that shine in flash photos but not in real life. They photograph better in natural light.

    7. Pretty dresses! Did you make them? Both girls look so cute.

    8. those are the limited outfits that came out around Christmas with the releses of Lena and Linda.

    9. Of course! Now I recognize them. Very pretty!

    10. Airike & vermont chick - if your camera has a pop-up flash like mine, you could sew a little white fabric pocket to slip over it to mute the shine from the flash. I sewed a little pocket out of white cotton, with a single layer of fabric on one side, and a double layer on the other. That way I can choose just how much I want to counter that flash glare.

    11. Sounds like a great trick. Alas mine isn't a pop-up, it's part of the camera's body. Maybe I could find a way to tape something over it. Worth a try. Thanks!

    12. Paige's eyes just weren't working for me, so I switched them for an 8mm pair. Now she looks so much more alert.

    13. try just holding a sheet of regular white paper in front of the flash. one of my photography instructors told us that trick for diffusing the light. it also helps keep from having deep shadows when you use a flash. i'm going to have to try the fabric trick though @MB Lilac if it works the same as the paper i'll have to try making a "bag" too

    14. In this picture Paige has 8mm eyes?
I love her! she is beautiful

    15. Thanks for the tip. I think I'll need a tripod to hold the camera steady, otherwise it sounds like a three-hand operation.

    16. Hi @Logan Lovett my Paige has three outfits for minifee small bust, hop on Etsy and you can pick up some lovely outfits. There are also sellers making some great outfits specifically for the KIDs too. Out of all my 5 different sized dolls Ive found the KID to be one of the easiest -and cheapest - to create a wardrobe for.

    17. Thank you Lelm! I had not thought to minifee small bust outfit, is a great idea ^__^
maybe an msd slim size outfit could fit well on a KID, I will do many tests because I don't have similar size dolls and so I have no suitable outfits to try.

    18. My KID Ah-ra arrived this morning. I downsized his eyes to 8mm as the 12 mm he came with filled his eye holes way too much, and just made him look 'dopey'. He still needs to be painted, but I wanted to get an idea of what he will look like, so borrowed some clothes and a wig. Meet my Aaron....

    19. @MB Lilac - Oh he's darling already! I think the smaller eyes look great in him. Ah-ra is really a wonderful sculpt...too bad not many people have one.

    20. I think it was the lousy promo photos for Ah-ra that just didn't appeal to people. Same with Angela. I've not seen very many of either one. I can't wait until mine are both painted.

Anyway, I will see after he's painted whether I'll keep the 8mm eyes or switch up to 10mm. It's hard to tell for sure in a blank head.

    21. @MB Lilac - Oh yes Angela. She's one I've been wanting....and need to set aside some funds for her soon. I look forward to seeing yours faceupped and styled.

    22. @MB Lilac Loving your Aaron! Super cute.

Ive been thinking about Angela but haven't been able to find many owner pics. Also quite tempted by another Paige with a different face up. She's so gorgeous!

    23. he's a cutie even blank. the eye holes look pretty small, i bet you'll end up sticking with the 8's they look really well proportioned

    24. Congrats on getting your first KID. So far I've only been sewing and knitting outfits for my Lonnie, apart from the Snow White dress, which came from a Zapf Disney Princess doll. I made skirts with patterns for Ellowyne Wilde, and dresses with a pattern from Martha Tutorials
I also made trousers and a sundress with a patterns from Oriole Tiny BJD Doll Clothes Patterns . I was going to buy the little cutie pattern for Narsha, but she told me that one wouldn't work for Lonnie, as Narsha is a bit narrower.
Here's a link to my Flickr: Lonnie

    27. Thank you, vermont chick! Yeah, I will try to catch some natural light next time ;-)

Thanks very much for the tip, MB Lilac! I usually use my little camera with a built-in flash, though this time I did use a bigger one with a pop-up flash. I will keep the tip in mind when I am using it again, big thanks once more! :-)
And great to see your Ah-ra boy, he looks great and will be an awesome addition to your crew :-) Can't wait to see him all painted. And Angela too!

      Congrats to all the incomings!

Dilly1109, you did a great job with the fairy costume! Your Lonnie makes a very pretty fairy girl :-)

I have made my KID boy a baseball cap and am currently working on a T-shirt, so when I finish it, there will be some photos, hopefully :-)

    29. Thank you dear for all your links ^__^ you are very kind!

    30. Actually KIDs are a tiny bit more narrow around the chest and waist but slightly bigger around the hips. I would think a lot of Narsha pattens (or clothes) would fit just fine. Of course you'd have to make anything that was tight around the hips slightly bigger but that wouldn't really be that hard.

    33. She is beautiful!

    34. Oh congratulations she's lovely! :)

Is her LB any darker than earlier dolls? She doesn't look darker...but I thought Iple went to a darker LB lately.

    35. She's considerably darker, and much more red, especially compared to my other two light brown dolls, which are the original formula with the French resin in it. From what I understand, the red dye is the least stable, so I'm hoping she fades to a less red complexion. I also wonder if she'd look less red if she were dressed in blues and greens?

    36. Oh yes, I see....she is darker....and like you I'm interested to know if the red mellows out in some time.
She is a pretty color. Though, I do love the original French resin mixed in LB, RS, and PG better.

Both girls are so darling in this photo btw!:XD:

    37. @MB Lilac - Angela's face-up is lovely! I love the photo of her with Erzulie--the family resemblance is really strong.

I wouldn't worry too much about the color. The red should fade out after a while.

    38. I thought Angela had a good family resemblance to both my Efreet and Erzulie, and to Benny, who I planned on making a single Mom to the three of them.

I love this colour of light brown, but it makes my two older light brown BIDs look pale and sickly.

    39. They definitely look related. They are both gorgeous.

    40. Oh yes, they do look related! And so pretty too. Good catch.

    43. @Betsy McCall of course! Her faceup was done by Russian artist matahata - I do follow a load of artists to fining one suitable is not an issue. I've found the Russian ones are especially amazing when it comes to realistic stuff. I just looked in my records and her faceup was $ 75 + shipping.

Her clothes, like most of my dol stuff, was an OOAK commission from nezumitoo, originally for my Unoa Chibi. For modern day stuff you have so much more options though! Nine9Style immediately comes to my mind and their Bunny Line is 35cm as well.

    44. Oh wow! They are just gorgeous! I really want to get my JID iplehouse Benny in light brown skin a sister someday and one of these sculpts would be so cute. The outfits and how you have paired them is so precious. I also love how you paired them with your JID Benny and have yours as their mom. So beautiful! I love your dolls!

    45. Thanks! We got some snow overnight, so I took Angela outside with her younger siblings....

    46. Thank you so much. I so appreciate your style and like seeing your stuff. Very pretty. I'm not really fond of anime...

Yours is the first name I've 'learned,' or have come to recognize.

    47. @Betsy McCall aw thank you for your kind words! <3 I look forward to seeing your girl!

@MB Lilac I totally forgot to swoon over your girl! She is totally stunning and I also adore that Benny is her Mom <3 (also snow in April, yikes!)

    48. Oh wow! Even more beautiful photo than the last! Simply adore them!

    49. so pretty! we keep getting snow but then it melts right away leaving everything brown and ugly

    52. I LOVE her! Unfortunately I've reached 'critical mass' with regards to my doll collection, and can't (shouldn't) buy any more, other than ones I just can't live without.

    53. I've been wanting a couple of ebony skin IH dolls for a long time. It's been my favorite IH skin color since the release of the limited JID Benny.

I've started to think of which KID and BID sculpts I'd like. And I think that Paige would be awesome in the ebony color. Too bad I can't order her now that the ebony skin is available :|

How often do IH offer ebony skin?

    54. Daisy is very cute but I don't think I'll get her.

Rosa-Lillie (Lena) has resently arrived home from Akara's spa. I just love her.

    55. it 'used' to be every other month except holidays like Christmas... now it's anyones guess... cuz they had said they wouldn't make it anymore but now they are... I'm not sure Iple knows for sure ><

    56. I'd been waiting and waiting for the ebony, I'm so glad I went ahead and ordered a BID in the revised LB instead as I adore her, here she is with my KID Paige in nSRS on the day of her box opening: [IMG]

images are not working correctly for me atm, I must have forgotten how to do it???

btw I love the new KID Daisy, gorgeous dress too!

    57. i can relate. that face would make a great boy though and a terrific younger sib to paige
