Auntbear-- Thank you! I'm totally in love with my little dark elf girl. This was my first attempt at elf ears, so I was really happy with how they turned out. For the painting I used Krylon Fusion for plastics and the color match was very close once I'd painted the body, so to make it exact I put a very light coat on the head as well... I'm not nearly good enough at blushing to match it that way!

Hi all. Loving all the pics of the KID's on here

I'm currently waiting on my KID Lisa that I purchased through Dolls Choice. I may have tracked down her addiction fullset via a friend (minus the weapon and shoes) and was wondering if anyone here who got the fullset when she first came out could show me what shoes they purchased to go with it? I not quite sure what style to buy, so an idea of what the set originally came with or was suggested went with it, would help

Question for KID & BID owners.... what KID/BID's would you pair up as siblings that look a lot alike... I suck when I can't see them bald blank and side by side. I just don't spot the subtle stuff >< . ... MY little ones may come home sooner than expected because of that stupid gorgeous EID uniform lol And my Enyu really wan'ts a playmate.... it has nothing I tell you! to do with the new outfits ;p lol

The full set did not include shoes... not all FS's do. (actually most don't O_o.) So a pair of black 'mary Jane' types will work or the little black boot. But if you got the wings your girl won't be able to wear them since you couldn't order the torso with the special drilled out holes?

 

Haha Lady Tiku, I'm tempted too to get a BID I've had my eye on. I may use the opportunity to get Lawrence's uniform to give it to my Leo as a good excuse to buy her/him

Kind of figured there wouldn't have been any shoes with her set, but they sometimes suggest which ones to buy. I'd hoped they did so in her case. I've got some boots on order for her anyway, so hopefully they'll look good with the dress when I get it.

It does appear the wings are included from the images I've seen, so if I do get them I was thinking of attaching some magnets to the inside of the dress (I think I read somewhere that they attach by magnets in the holes?). Hopefully that will hold them enough, at least for photos

 

I'd say it really doesn't matter - just pick your favourite sculpts and claim they are siblings. I don't look anything like my sister, and my first two sons don't look anything at all like each other. I also have two sets of grandchildren, and in both cases, the younger one doesn't look anything like the older one. Even skin tones are different.

That's a great idea - putting magnets inside the back of the dress. Beats having a torso with drilled holes in it.

I get the sense you have not looked at Lisa's 'addiction' sale page on IH... you should... those wings need the hole type magnet system for stability, an mobility (they are somewhat pose-able). Check it out at the bottom of the page. External magnets on the costume (any costume) will not work... the wings are too heavy. sorry to be a downer ><. But I thought you should be prepared for what you are getting.

Claude's page shows a similar structure (one that flexes way more). It shows how the holes and wings actually set on a small separate piece that is the anchor and allows for the wings to fold forward (slightly in Lisa's case). Again it's at the bottom of the page

Only the BID's had external mounts that would have worked with the 'clothing idea

Saddly I will want to be using them to shell book characters eventually... and there is emphasis put on the similar looks since it's how the hero begins to put puzle pieces together (he sees the BID's and there is no mistake who's family they belong to... just 'smaller copies of the older siblings'. AND the mother ><. But I'll let that one slide a bit lol. ... Why did I have to adore books with twins, triplets and carbon copy family members >< ...

 

i wasn't meaning to do anything fancy with them, just have them attached long enough to take the picture really. But if they're too heavy they may not let me do that I guess...

Ahh well never mind, I'll just have to see once I get it I could always have them as broken wings strewn on the battle field

 

make s stand for the wings and just stand Lisa in front of them? (got idea from photo of doll who's wings were not even physical (drawn) and doll infront of them. looked really good too.

So the new EID did not wow me out of waiting for a Leonard... but that dang outfit has prompted me to move on getting a KID in DC and nabbing the uniform that way ;p... Sooooo, I am thinking of Peach with Joy's type B face up (I love the vibrant but still pale pink lips ^^).

And chime in... I'm getting the Pearla sets (all of them ><) lol... but can't decide what to order for the KID feet to go with her set... I'm just asking opinions hoping they will tip towards at least ONE pair of shoes ><. If my finances allow it I will grab the Misty Blue but they need white shows ;p Oh must remember to get a wig! I'll have her total outfit ready for arrival ^^.... just watch Iple pop out a must have CH series related pirate in Special Edition now with my luck lol.

I wasn't supposed to even think about tinies until next year ><... IH has blown my order of ordering all to smithereens lol

Okay, that's different - then they do need to look alike. Too bad the heads on KIDs and BIDs aren't interchangeable. Then it would be simple.

Don't even say that! The time we have leaves on the trees, and flowers, is short enough. I'm not looking forward to 8 months of 'dead' out there. However, Iplehouse has said they'll introduce a new KID "in the fall", so at least there's something good to look forward to.

Love the colours in your girl's hat.

 

I actually thought that too until I went to DC and ... wtf... where did all the other heads go O_o... I also loved the BID Elin... though she'd be cute as a KID >< guess not

I think if the 'total' outfit isn't a 100% win for the EID I may try to put off a BID/KID purchase another month at least... I saw my bank balance... it made me twitch lol... It's healthy but not as healthy as I'd like it? lol.

 

Of all the KIDs and BIDs, the only ones I think could pass for siblings - or older and younger versions of the same character - would be maybe KID Irene and BID Anne.

oddly enough if you picked the right skin tone and did the right faceup i think efreet and lonnie would look very much alike. they have the same eye shape and chin, and while efreet's bottom lip is a little fuller that could be either explained by age or minimized with makeup. i have an lb lonnie and the change in skin tone changes her look quite a bit

I want the 'family resemblance to be 'obvious' but being different ages there can be some differences of course and they will be (most likely) 1800's Londoners once rich but now poor for one family, and one set of twins ... are with a down on her luck (abused woman sold off by lovely hubby to settle a bet) mother. hidden away a lot so NS or PG at most. These kids spend alot of time 'staying out of the way'. That is until they are saved when the hero saves them from their former lives? O_o.

 

MB Lilac, I agree KID Irene and BID Anne would work well as sisters. I thought from the promotion photos that KID Lonnie and BID Bonnie would work together. I'm hoping I was right because my Bonnie should be here Tuesday or Wednesday.

This afternoon Lonnie and I played with her wardrobe and picked something new for her to wear. After putting the boots on her feet, I had trouble getting her to stand on her own. She does it fine w/o anything on her feet. Didn't have a stand out to grab so ended up standing her against the back of a bench. The clothing is all from Iplehouse.

But the summer we have now is terrific - we just have nothing to breath with.

MBL lives in Ontario... where Toronto is... Canada has ... lets just say 'interesting weather' that is often joked about... like this ;p


google 'Canadian seasons joke' and look at the images... there are plenty jokes like this one ^^... I live in Alberta where our local weather ppl even say 'if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes (or cross the street)... I can testify to cross the street since one day my house was in bright sunshine and across the street it was pouring rain O_o ... Eastern Canadian's are seriously learning to fear the weather and fall/winter in particular in recent years O_o.

 

yup i can agree with the last one about alberta. i just spent the last couple of days driving my kids across the city to camp and i had to turn the windshield wipers on and off every other block it seemed!

i posted my lonnie in lb to show the similarity with efreet since he is shown with darker skin on the web site, but the more i look at them the more i think efreet would work as a sib to either of my lonnies (lb or ns) not sure i've ever seen a ns efreet before though. i may have to go to the bid list and ask now just to see....

He is real skin, I only own doll that are lighter and darker than normal skin and peach is way too normal for me

 

Lady Tiku is right. Love that pie graph BTW. It's so true!! I live right beside Toronto, and we've just had the coldest summer in 75 years. Not a single day over 30 C. Which is fine by me, as I hate heat and humidity, but it's also raining so much that my poor Ringo who arrived over three months ago has not been able to be painted because it's never dry enough for long enough. I mean, all of the Great Lakes water levels are up by at least half a meter!

So, whenever there's a half decent day, I try go out and take doll photos. Here's Peach and Lisa as fairies....

I found it at the secondhand discount store awhile ago. I think it's plaster. I have a shorter one too.

 

A heads up guys... this is post 996 (almost 1,000) and since there is no 'hot convo. thread' I'll report this for making a new thread to the mods... don't bother yourself...
