I posted this either in the KID or JID forum before but since there was discussion, here's a picture of Faith with Lee and Stef. Faith is normal skin. Lee is peach gold. Stef is real skin. I love all 3 skin tones. I really want to add a light brown doll to my doll family because from what I've seen in photos it looks great.

great comparison shot! and yes you need a light brown. ellowyn is light brown and the color is scrumptious. just like milk chocolate!

 

She is wonderful auntbear! Which resin color is she? Light brown? Or is she ebony? Irene sculpt? Did you use the CDS system to get her?

Wonderful comparison shot Jen! I really do love the peach gold. But I will have to wait until I get Alice who I have ordered in the Special Real. Have you had any issues at all with the IH resin colors fading or changing? I do have Louis. But I know he is old. He was initially white but have yellowed, and I understand that is normal. How long have you had Lee in the peach gold?

LOL! I guess she does xanadu! She is actually pointing to something over to the left. But she does have that "all that" attitude.

 

No I haven't had any issues with the Iplehouse resin colours.

I have heard that when they first introduced real skin there was a greening issue but they've long since corrected it. I wouldn't leave my dolls in the sun or anything but I don't think you have to worry.

Edit: I missed part of your question. I got Lee in November 2012. I got Stef in March 2012. Faith is my newest BJD. I got her in April of this year.

(I also have a nYID Bianca in PG that I got in November 2012. An EID Bibiane in normal skin that I got in June 2012. An SID Claude in normal skin that I got in March 2013. And the first one, the big guy, an EID Dexter in real skin that I got in January 2012. Apparently 2012 was the year of the BJD.)

thanks ellowyn is a light brown lonnie. (sorry i should have said that in her intro) i got her during the iplehouse cds sale at christmas. i couldn't resist the chance to try the darker skin tone at the discounted price, and i'm so glad i did 'cause i love her in it!

pepper however really tempts me to add an irene to my crew!

WOW Jen! I guess 2012 was the BJD year! I feel the same way too. As I went crazy with my collection extending my BJD's to about 35. I still have a few on my wish list and it's time to sell some dolls that do not inspire me to get the ones that talk to me. Thank you for providing the link on the test results. Will check it out.

I especially love her mouth with the teeth.

LB Lonnie is very cute dressed like a playful little girl. I love that resin color for a light brown it appears deep in color. It's lovely and seems very close to the ebony.

The Lonnie sculpt is my favorite KID sculpt so far, which is a hard choice since they're all so fantastic! I don't think you'll be disappointed if you get her..or him. :-)

Thank you so much AQUEENOFALLTRADES! She is gorgeous! I was just reading through the "what clothes fit" section and it seems EW clothes fit, kinda? I used to have quite a bit of it and sold it off bc she was just too much doll for me lol. I'm used to the tiny lati yellows.

 

You're welcome! :-) And when it comes to clothing that fits, there really are all kinds of options out there. How well they work will just depend on your own personal taste when it comes to "fit". In the picture above, Navarre is wearing a Ken shirt made for the older, stockier body along with a pair of Tonner jeans made for 16" Tyler Wenworth. The legs were long on her, so I just tucked 'em up and I was happy with them. :-)

In the pic below, she's wearing the Tonner "Up & Out" outfit made for the 16" Antoinette dolls. Since the pants are peddle pushers on the taller girls; they were a great length on Navarre.

In this linked pic, she's wearing Tonner's Alice Cullen New Moon vest and pants along with a stretch knit shirt made for Ellowyne that I bought on E-bay. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8406/8649974275_eb5dde9596.jpg Some of the Dollmore Narsha Doll clothes work, some 14" Betsy McCall, some of Denis Bastien's clothing for his 11" LeeAnn doll, some of the slim MSD clothes and the list goes on and on. I spend a lot of time comparing her measurements with other dolls and then just buying what looks like it should work. Between her being able to snag clothes from the "big girls" and the clothes I've been lucky to pick correctly on line, this girl never has to have a nekkid day at all. :-)

Does anyone have a Peach as a boy? I see a lot of Peach girls but no boys! I'm debating getting one as I think he'd be a perfect fit for what I'm after.

Or if anyone has photos of a Minoruworld Jr body next to a KID (any mold!) that'd be really helpful. I wanna see how they look together, proportion wise.

That looks like one of John Morgan's/Morgans By Designs works of art. The black sofa in my pic is one of his, too, and I *LOVE* it.

 

Rinoa - I plan to get a Peach boy. I don't know when but it's definitely on the wish list.

 

Is Peach a newer sculpt? I may get Peach after I receive Alice. I love the Peach in the Make up B type!!

Did I mention that I'm getting Alice?!

How long would it take to get her once I paid her off? Any guesses?

 

I think Peach is the newest KID sculpt, but I'd have to check the Iple site to be sure. They tend to list them newest to oldest.

As for production time...it varies. Iple says 45-60 business days for a blank doll. A little longer for ones with faceups, so theoretically 9-12 weeks. I've only had 1 doll take the entire time and that was because they had to remake her. The rest of my dolls have been ready before I finished paying my layaways off. The best place to get an idea of how long things are taking in in the Iplehouse Waiting Room thread. Or you can ask Iple directly. They usually have a good idea.

 

Yes, Peach was the latest basic KID that was released.

Gorgeous photos everyone! Jen, love those jeans! I may have to give in and get a pair from Virginia someday. I just got a pair from her for my Alexia and they are really great! You can see them on her Pepper.

I'm really hoping to pay off my Alice soon! Selling dolls to pay off layaways. Can't wait!! I'm so looking forward to getting her and so is Joy too.

 

Thanks, in case anyone is wondering the pants are from Dollmore (for Narsha). The shirt is a Ken (as in Ken and Barbie) shirt and the shoes are from Ruby Red Galleria. Oh and the hat is a Middie Blythe hat that I bought from someone on Etsy.

 

Thank you so much! This is fine! I just wanted to get an idea of the height difference (my Minoruworld/Bluefairy doll is gonna be a hybrid). The KID heads are pretty big. But I think it'll work when all wigged up and such. Plus the Littlefee head I'm hybridning is bigger than the Minoruworld one so it probably won't be as much of a difference.

What skintone is your girl? I'm thinking of getting my boy in real skin.

Rinoa No problem - I think when they had hair on, the head size wasn't so much of an issue and LTF heads are definitely a bit bigger than MWjr - i think they'll work fine together.

Siddal is in peach gold - it's a gorgeous shade. I like it so much I ordered the same for my PID.

And since Siddal lost all dignity in her last picture, here she is trying on her big sister's corset. I feel bad that I don't take more pics of here as she really is gorgeous. (It so wasn't photo weather today - rain, sleet and gales but I couldn't resist!)

Wow, I didn't know the KIDs look so thin compared to the bids... BID head looks quite big in comparison to the KID head....

 

Hmmm...I think Sarah has finally settled on a body she likes. She's on a fairyland chicline body (NS). I think Lonnie might be one of the more mature sculpts so she can pull off a slightly more mature body. I don't know if I'd want to put any of the other KIDs on this body though.

 

guls207 Very interesting experiment! I think Lonnie is the only KID that can look good on the older body. Others are more childlike.

Loving everyone's Lonnies. Here's mine, with a bouquet of wildflowers on our recent trip....

 

I love, love all of these beautiful girls!!! The only problem is I want more spam and I want more dolls !

 

My thoughts exactly. Sarah is supposed to be 14-15 so that's why she will be staying on the chicline body (that is until I can confirm a resin match for LUTS NS and possibly switch her to that). Most likely this combination is a keeper. I love Lonnie as a young child too but for this character, I prefer her to be a little older.

 

I finally got a shot of Millie in her new wig and a really cute top from Dorset Clothing on Etsy that is MSD size, but fits perfectly. Mon, that is the designer is making leggings for her too and to the correct length. I've bought other things from her for my bigger dolls and the quality is very good.
