@Einnn I use Kaiser stands for all the smaller dolls as well, and I just tie them to the base to make them secure and prevent the holders from sliding out for the JIDs

Thank you both so much!! I will try these methods and see which works best for me.

 

I don't use a stand for my little guy, mostly because he's incredibly stable and will stand like a rock no matter where I put him. He also stands like a rock on one foot too.

 

New thread so my current JID's (3 more to go ><) Excuse the little one... I think she's sweet on Edwin lol

 

My JID parents are taking their children to visit Santa at the mall...... but not all of them are so eager to go to him.....

Thanks! I'm trying to distract myself as I'm waiting for surgery, so am photographing all of my little ones going to visit Santa. About half my BIDs have JID parents who can accompany them. That's five contemporary JIDs. These two - Isis and Steve ('I' and Owen) - are my newest couple (and family)

 

I love your photos and the stories they tell. @MB Lilac you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I do hope that Iplehouse keeps and adds to the JID line of dolls. I've been on the fence about getting an Owen and having them do a bearded faceup for me.

 

Thanks! I also wish they'd add some new JIDs, especially some more mature-looking guys. I have two Owens already, and still plenty of JID ladies who'd like a guy for themselves as well, and they can't all have a version of Owen.

I keep suggesting they shrink some of the larger sculpts like they are doing for the FID line. It's all done digitally, so how hard can it be to shrink some of those heads not quite as much so they are JID size? The JID boy bodies are plenty mature enough to support some of those sculpts. I know my Isar would be happy with any of them.

 

I always enjoy seeing your photos! There is so much to take in...in all the little details. Every pose is just perfect. You must spend such time and care setting them up...and it shows. And best wishes for your surgery! Sending pink lights your way.

@MB Lilac - Aww...another sweet colorful photo! I was over at my mother's the other day and showed her the other photo above with the kids and Santa and at first she thought they were real people!

 

Thanks! I've been taking photos of all my small dolls with Santa, as a distraction this week, and everyone had a finished photo much like you can get with a real mall Santa. Of course I only have five contemporary JIDs to be parents to take them, and had to take photos of them as well - although not with Santa.

I mostly lurk on the boards but saw that you had to have surgery and have been praying all goes smoothly for you. Continued best wishes for a full and speedy recovery

 

@Nancy-TN - I'm doing okay. Had major surgery Friday, and was sent home yesterday (Sunday). Now comes at least six weeks recovery, but thankfully there's dolls and online groups to distract me. I mean, three whole days without Internet is a LONG time.

 

@MB Lilac - Glad your surgery is over! Get well and recover.

 

@MB Lilac, I'm so glad to hear that your surgery is completed. You've been in my prayers, and you know the no internet thing is something that I miss too when I've been away from it. Merry Christmas to you and to everyone on this board.

I’m popping in to introduce myself.

I’m usually in the Minifee and Fairyline threads, but I recently bought a JiD Boris as a SO for my Fairyline Sircca and her fatherless children , so I’ve been reading some of the older threads and will be following along here.

He’ll be coming from the U.K. during the holiday rush, so it’ll be a while before I see him in person, but I’m very excited and have already done a bit of shopping.

I seriously love Boris and was devastated when I realized he’d been discontinued. I feel really lucky to find him. I almost bought him a couple years ago but my doll plans changed. He’s special real skin with C type faceup. Sircca currently has a default faceup, but eventually I’ll probably send them together for custom faceups.

@emmrbjd on insta gave me permission to post this pic of Boris in a composite with my Cece. I think they look really good together.



He will be my only non-Fairyland bjd.

and speaking of iple boys... my Edwin who was looking more like the brother to his GF got a hair redo! I have to admit I knew his eventual twin sister was a red head... but i was terrified he would not be able to carry off the red. I am glad i was wrong! I think he looks great and more like i see his personality! XD oh and i swear i did not pose him with a possessive hand on his girl LOL ... he still needs snapping green eyes though.

 

@ladytiku Thank you! Your Edwin is handsome! I like the red hair on him. As for clothing, he’s being sent with some basics, and I ordered a suit from him on Etsy from @natzayshop. He’s casual corporate. I’m already used to buying special clothes because of my Fairyland slim minis.

My Boris arrived today and I love him! So does Cece.

 

Hey guys I have a bad habit of just disappearing for Months. Alex turned 3 back in Oct and I still haven't taken him out for new photos. I am a bit in debt right now so My twin Boris' are still faceupless and wigless but I can't even remember if I posted their box opening so here they are with Alex. They are Alex's bodyguards.

Ok. I know I have been away for a while but I decided to take a peek at Iplehouses website and I know clothes for these boys has always been limited but only 7 items? REALLY IPLEHOUSE? Out of everything my boys are wearing in this picture only that black tank top is still listed. Guess the twins are stuck wearing Alex's clothes.

 

IH has said only with new "limited" dolls will outfits be released and not as 'regular stock' they are phasing clothing as regular stock out ... I'm sure of it... they have said 'no new clothing' to to many ppl who have asked... so I say don't bother looking at iple... just start sourcing out alternatives... And HI BOYS! good to see even unfinished!

 

Really? These boys are like impossible to shop for and Iplehouse just decided to cut the one source we had that would actually fit? I think Alex has like two items of clothing that fit him that aren't from Iplehouse.

And cause I can. Have a group shot. 5/6 of my Iple's. Calanthe was away getting painted when the Twins and Leona arrived.

I feel so bad that I have had Leona since April and she still doesn't have a name, it might end up being Leona.

Also the twins do not have green hair, I just happened to have two green wigs and I wanted them to match.

 

lol @ the green hair... and yep... no idea what it might take to get new regular stock ... they keep spitting out the 'we have no plans' line when ppl ask... but I have been looking into companies that do 'custom' like through Alice Collections or Legend Doll ... omg some of the stuff you can custom .. i want to cry it's gorgeous... not like this but I am sure if you hunt them out... and it take hunting ><... you might find something for your aesthetic? but both of those deal for many places... Whee? we get to relearn to shot for these twits? lol I now have 2 girls and Edwin... I will get Sierra and i have 2 Kyle heads to body in the future lol so ya i need stuff too... i have been buying the more period stuff when i can. Even if my credit card screams bloody murder lol. shoes and boots are in and out like nuts with the FID boys using them too... so I'd grab up what you can when you can to be safe....

 

They fit in the same shoes my Doll-Zones wear so finding shoes for them isn't a problem it's finding pants, especially for the boys. Isaac is wearing boxers cause I only have one pair of shorts and one pair of jeans and 3 boys now . If anyone finds a good source of pants for these guys let me know. . For now the 4 that have Iplehouse bodies are just sharing what clothes I have. Calanthe is a hybrid and therefore can fit in the abundance of slim MSD clothes I have collected over the past 9 years.

Thanks for the info about Iplehouse clothing though. Good to know the company I bought my dolls from doesn't care if I have clothes for them.

I've found other JID boy stuff from Etsy sellers and I've gotten fantasy outfits by
commissioning them. I do miss the IH clothing though.

I believe that I picked that one up at a doll show but you can find lots of them on eBay.

 

Actually, @TomB I have looked and searched everywhere, but no cigar. If you see a brand or any manufacturing marks, please let me know . The fingerboards available almost anywhere are much smaller. Thanks for your help

Hello, everyone.
I’m in need of some advice.

I have recently bought a pair on new hands for my JID girl and I’m having trouble deciding on how to handle the color matching.

The girl is an old white skin doll who has yellowed quite a bit. I bought her second hand many years ago and she was already yellowed (quite a bit, but evenly and she is still a lovely colour, but certainly not white) at the time and hasn’t really changed much since.
Then hands are just bought, also in white skin, but the current white skin is very pale and creamy in color.
The thing is, I also have a JID boy who was bought a few years ago, in normal skin. He faded quite a bit in just the first six weeks or so (losing a bit of his pink, but not really turning yellow, it was more like fading than yellowing) and he is now lighter than my old “white skinned” girl, although a very different color. The new hands are quite close to his current color, only a little lighter.

I know that there has been at least one change in resin formula and at least two changes in pigments since my girl were made (one pigment change since my boy was made, I believe), so I didn’t expect the hands to match. The plan was to just blush them to match.
But since it seems both my Iplehouse dolls have changed a lot when new and then not much at all, perhaps I should wait and just let the hands rest for a while before blushing them? It would be a bit annoying if I matched them now and then in a few months had to redo it. I could try to force yellowing in the new hands, but the resin has a very different look and feel compared to the old, so there is a risk it will yellow into an even more different color and it may be easier to just blush them all the way from the current color, rather than risk having to compensate for a different color.

What do you guys think, should I wait or should I go ahead and match them now?
Those of you who have bought new Iplehouse dolls the last year or so, do they still change noticeably in the beginning?

 

I am curious when the JID body was replaced with the new style and are the measurements the same as old body?
I have looked on Iplehouse data base and was unable to find my answer. I am concerned with waist and hips.
Is the new body much better than old? I did not care for the old style. Thanks for any help!

 

@Oliveoil it was just the hands, not the body. The hands were replaced sometime around 2016 I believe.
