Is Iplehouse going to do a JID Carved Heritage? Or was Rania the last doll for that series?

 

Rania was the last in the series. Sadly Cordelia was the only JID in the range. Hopefully they'll introduce a new JID when the new series starts

 

Okay that's good to know, I do hope for a male this time, my Ryan would love some pirate clothing.

 

Unfortunately we're not sure what the new series will involve yet. It may be completely different from this one. But fingers crossed they'll make something that will work for him

 

It sure WOULD be nice if they'd include JID boys in the LE stories for a change! We haven't had one since Noctarcana Circus. They're such charming little guys, and there's so much potential there that's just being ignored....

 

they had Edwin as a 'support' character in CH... The dark haired version who helped Vera! AND he went directly into 'basic'... a bonus really.

 

Snerk! That guy? He was an unpaid extra! They need to make actual JID characters for a change.

 

I just ordered my Cordelia today. My first Iplehouse doll. I'm so excited!
Curious how long it will take her to get to me.

 

Edwin also played Rania's young son (before he morphs into the ever droolworthy grown-up Oscar). But it would be nice if a JID had a featured role instead of a walk-on.

@Amadiel Congrats on ordering Cordelia. Considering how quickly Iplehouse has been turning them out, I would expect her to reach you in a month or less. Could be as little as two weeks. (Just don't hold it against me if it takes longer.)

 

@vermont chick: I'm really curious there. This is the first time I ordered a doll directly through the company itself. I used to order my dolls through dealers, so waiting time was always a bit longer; the doll having to travel to the dealer first and then to me.
Anway, can't wait.

 

They haven't always been so quick to fill orders. And a lot depends on whether you ordered no faceup, a basic faceup or a custom faceup. No faceup is quickest, custom is longest. And if you added clothing or wigs to your order, anything out of stock will delay your order. For an idea of the current timeline, take a look at the Waiting Room if you haven't already. But I still think you'll get her in two weeks, more or less.

 

When I ordered my blank Owen 2 years ago it took 2 months for him to be ready. I have no other reference with Iplehouse, though.

 

I think the record right now is about 10-15 days from order to delivery on blank dolls, maybe less. But of course right now they are doing well above average in their production times.

There's a possibility that they may have hired more production staff as they are originally quite a small company if I'm not mistaken. They could also have perfected their methods of each stage of production and sped up the process that way. Either way we are quite lucky right now.

They still list times as 45-60 business days, which I guess is to ensure no one is disappointed with a slower turnaround. Also if they ever have a backlog like the unfortunate incident I believe happened with the Addiction series a few years back, things could get a lot slower again.

I agree with Vermont chick, there is a high possibility of a quick turnaround if you've gone for a basic Cordelia without any extras Amadiel. Congrats by the way, Cordelia is lovely sculpt

 

Heheh, back when I bought all my old-school Iplehouse dolls, it was always 3 months wait, and there weren't even any options to choose. ^^ You also had to stay up all night to catch an LE sale because they limited it to 10 or 25 or 75 dolls per edition. Uphill, in the snow, both ways!

 

Thank you all for your replies. I did order her in normal skin with Make-up B, two wigs and two accessoires.
But I don't mind if it takes a while longer. In fact I already calculated her to take a few weeks so I won't be disappointed if it really takes a bit longer.

@ Forever: I haven't been in the hobby for so long, but I'm curious. What happened to the Addiction series? Did they have trouble in production?

 

I'm not sure what incident @Forever is referring to. The only slower-than-normal time I recall is when their English language manager took maternity leave. It think it was a face-up artist who filled in for her, which bogged things down at the face-up end of the process.

 

Might be less than a few weeks. I ordered Amy a couple months ago and she shipped in 11 days, ordered EID Bane and he just shipped one week to the day after I ordered. They are really moving right now....

From what I gather from others, there was a major delay in production on the series, not sure if it was at the beginning or the end as I wasn't around then. I think they said at the time it was a combination of low staff numbers and issues with getting in the French resin that they were using at the time. The suppliers just weren't supplying enough and they eventually had to switch to another supplier and use different resin.

That's when the standard opaque resin was started or made a permanent feature I believe and it's taken until recently for them to come up with the glow alternative that is similar to the previous French resin. The delays from the Addiction line were made apparent to me by someone telling me that they were still waiting on an Addiction doll after I had received a shipping notice for my Leo. I think paid in full dolls at that time were averaging double or more of the 60-90 day production time as it was then. It was completely out of their hands, but they've made up for it tremendously

I was here for that so that'll have been during the CH series Yeah it was the face up artist who took over at that time.

EDIT: @vermont chick Just thinking back a bit on it, if I'm getting it a bit wrong about the Addiction series I apologise, I'm just going by what I've heard from others I know a couple of people who had their Addiction dolls started after CH had started sending out so it's their perspective. It may just have been that handful who had the issues.

 

My Addiction dolls were normal resin, so I didn't experience those delays. They only mixed French resin into the darker skin tones. White and normal weren't affected. I think I averaged a 2-month wait on each doll, which was about normal at that time.

 

Mmm... Leo took three and a half months and that's when I was told that there was a delay on production of outstanding Addiction dolls being worked on. So maybe they were working in tandem at that time to clear any backlog of darker resins? Either way they've come on leaps and bounds to make it down to a week as for an EID as VampireAngel13's Bane took, no matter the resin colour

Unfortunately I mostly go by layaway now, so months of waiting regardless for me lol

 

ya it was the resin problems and the low staff.... I ordered my Dexter Dec 30/13... He took FIVE months and was in the new 'no french' resin. They were also having a high 'breakage' rate of some of the 'delicate' resin items... yep that wait nearly killed me.. and they got my face up wrong... good thing I had already planned on the face he got for later... now my plan is just reversed. I took the beard since I didn't want to wait any longer. He was a grail doll and he needed to be home! lol.

 

Glad I'm not just remembering it wrong I was starting to doubt myself haha.

I probably would have gotten impatient and just accepted it too if I had waited that long and they'd made a mistake (case and point Aino ). Lucky that you had a plan for a different face up eventually, but still an initial disappointment.

Still it's good that both their quality and timing have improved so much since then. Getting a JID now will not be as nail biting as the wait was back then.

 

nope i remember cuz the dates and such are kinda significant for one thing and ya that was part of the delays etc... and the 'plan' had been (still is some day) two Dexter's with his 'western' face up + beard and one without the beard... had 'planned' no beard first but it works better for now that he has it since all the rest have no beards so he seems the elder of the bunch which also works well lol. I'll have a beardless Dex eventually, same as a Leo WITH a beard XD So I got what I wanted... just in reverse order ;p but at 5 months... wait for a redo... oh hell no... and besides they ate the extra cost of the beard face this way lol

 

I just had to have a non bearded and bearded version of Leo so I feel you there Order doesn't matter as long as you eventually get what you want in th end. Glad they took the hit on the extra price for the beard.

I couldn't wait for a redo either after a wait that long either. When I had the issue with Law the head was perfect and I was terrified they'd mess up the face up on a replacement doll, besides it'd cost four times as much in shipping to them than it did getting him here in the first place... And then they'd only replace that cost in points. If Law had been my last doll, I'd have been out of pocket $350-400 for a few months while they sorted it.

At least their mistake for you was not such an issue And three Dex's wow, a lot of resin hunk I scold myself all the time for getting 2 Leo's but I know I'd get a 3rd if I could

Wow, did you guys see the two Cordelias they put up for auction? I just ordered mine on sunday in normal skin and now they release two normal skin versions for auction...
I'm just glad I'm not so much into the lashes they gave her. Otherwise I would bite my butt now.

 

I saw that. Did you read the notes on them? The second one is on a *new* old style body that was canceled and has the butt flaps. I thought it was really interesting they decided to make a Cordelia head and paint it the same way for the auction. I wonder why they decided to do that. She's beautiful, but it seems a bit like competing against themselves. I really do love the pictures of them together. Makes me want twins, lol.

 

@ bluepita: Yes, they are indeed very pretty. Already gives me an idea of how mine will look like, since I ordered Make-Up B, which seems similar to the one in the auction.
I'm curious for how much they will sell.

I'm late for my own birthday this year! I was away in Japan, but I'm back now, so I finally have my Happy Birthday Caveman present to myself. Max has caveman duty this year... he wasn't sure at first, but he made a damn good caveman. (Though it was a bit tricky getting that leopard-skin to wrap right over his big giant butt.)

Aww, no more Akando and Tedros either?? And Giorgio and Storm? Booo. And pretty much all of the YID boys. Well, jeez, if their excuse is "difficulties managing a lot of characters in basic line", maybe they should ditch those Pixy things and focus on the actual dolls they're known for. Sheesh. They just ain't what they used to be.

At least they're not discontinuing the last few JID boys they have left (over which I'm pleasantly surprised).

I have to get Erica to complete my twin set but I had wanted to replace/upgrade my poor (got a bit much sun in the early days) I. But I just 'might' be able to... selling my spare EIDm body!... if i can make the magic 1k for the extra month of LA I want to try to.

And I've just made my decision and ordered I. I regret not getting Jerome before he was discontinued and I thought I would regret iI too.

It's my first time ordering custom make up too - I've asked for the Bliss Type C face up if they can do it on the I sculpt.

 

the only thing I'd have confirmed is that you don't want the teeth lol... I can just see some artist trying to work out how to do that LOL... And grats... I'm thinking about I also (again since I actually have on that got a wee bit much sun XD) Mine was a bit of a custom... she has Joy's eyes. You will love her! And I can't wait to see how that face up looks!

 

I've yet to order anything from Iplehouse (despite being oh-so-close several times) and I used to truly love I (I drooled a lot over her quite a few years back) but the one that's been catching my eye (along with Asa) for the more recent years is Soa. So I'm in a little bit of a pinch over what I want to do. I've already gone back and forth for the past few days trying to figure it out (which is not made easier by Souldoll and their new Vito girls). I'm also kind of curious how she'd look with my current guys (which are mostly Withdolls and Soulkids and a couple of other slim MSDs). It's not too big of a deal if she doesn't "fit", I already know I want Owen and Asa so she'd probably get company sooner than later. But my wallet. My poor poor wallet.

 

DamagedRose, I have been down the same path as you almost, going back and forth looking at I, Soa and Asa. Seing Eilidh beautiful I, it is back to square one for me. What to do ? I know, I may regret not getting I when it is possible. Has anyone got a picture of the 3 together?

 

My rule is, if it's limited or about-to-be-discontinued, buy it now! Agonize over it later. It's always better to have the doll & not want it, than it is to want it when you can't get it anymore.

 

LOL, @JennyNemesis - my husband would be the one agonizing. He just read your post, kissed my hand lightly and said, "Hun, ignore your friend."

 

Hah! I don't have anybody controlling my finances, so that's why I get to have the swashbuckling attitude. My money, my rules.

But if you've got the money now, and you think you want the doll, grab it now & re-sell it later. The alternative is months/years of kicking yourself until you can find a discontinued doll on the aftermarket-- especially a doll that wasn't wildly popular & thus never appeared on the aftermarket in the first place (source: bitter experience!).

 

I'm also on the fence trying to decide what to do. I have Soa and Asa, but my Asa has been transformed from the 'sweet girl" she started out as. Sometimes I think it would be nice to get a second Asa, but maybe it would be better to get a whole new sculpt that has much the same feel - like "I". And here I thought I was saving up for two new KIDs. But I can always get those later.

 

Can't believe they're discontinueing I. Along with Asa, she's my favourite girl. Now I'm pretty pleased I got that head in a split a while back. Mine also had red hair and green Glib rainforest eyes

 

Well, I took the plunge and ordered 'I' in Glow real skin. Totally an impulse buy, but like everyone says, it's 'now or never'.

Well, I caved. I had to get nYID Erica (she was and 'originally' planned doll to start with). And I bit the bullet and decided to get a 'new' I (since mine had been a learning curve both in sun exposure in general AND where the sun could reach in my house when I'm not there O_o. But her face is going to be a bit different... new eyes... I couldn't get the 'source' images for my original make up. so I went with Sierra's eyes and brows. I wish I could have tacked on glow but she's too big of a doll to 'test' if it suits my tastes ><

Hello, this is Iplehouse.

Since a lof customers asked for us to sell discontinued heads separately,
we decided to sell head parts until June 26th, 2016.

We won't be selling discontinued characters on Doll Choice after June 26th,
so this will be the last change to get these heads.

Sales Period: May 2nd – May 29th

- It will be sold on Doll Option Parts section.
- Since it is made in different period, there can be some color difference from the body.
- Layaway won't be offered.

Well, well, well, so did I. I ordered "I" in normal skin (and a Nami too)

 

I ordered a second I. I just adore the sculpt and I just couldn't let her slip by. I'm going to make them look very different though (I have 6 other sets of JID twins and I've made them look pretty different).

 

I saw that I was on sale. I'm thinking it'll mean she'll soon be discontinued? I always thought I'd get one some day but I haven't gotten around to it.

So what do you think? Should I order her? I can almost afford it. (Well I can but will have to be really careful with my money for a couple of months.)

Lol, you might be asking the wrong group of people if you want any response other than "Yes, order her!!" She is definitely being discontinued and won't even be in Doll Choice after this They are also selling her head separate most of this month. She is so lovely. I hope you get her.

 

LMAO... ya what @bluepita said ... she will be gone for good soon... I just ordered my 'second' "I". She was one of a pair of my first bjd's and I could not love her more... so definitely GET HER! If the whole doll is difficult now get the head and stick her in a box in a cool place (ultimate age reduction measures) until you can get a body. If you want a face up get that too because I've been asking and it can only add protection to the head ^^...

And just a word of warning... we are the best of the worst 'enablers' We can spend your money faster than you ever could LOL. The closest we get to saying 'don't get' is to suggest an "alternative" loll...now... go buy!
