I'm having a hard time deciding between real skin and brown for my next boy. I might go for the cheaper option, but I really need to see those new boys before I decide. Why are both colors so amazing?

All this spam is making me really want my boy home and my ordered hasn't even technically been placed yet cause Iple is closed for another couple days XD.

Thank you, but she's actually normal skin. She looks very pale in the light. Even more so when next to him. He's peach gold.

 

Stockiaci: your girl is beautiful, the wig looks so great on her. I completely understand why she stole his heart. If I were him, I would be in love with her too!

Not sure this matters to you but just remember, it's harder to photograph dark skin with light - the lighter tends to look washed out. I have NS gals, which is why I won't go darker than RS for my guys ...

Awwww, thanks. It's odd 'cause he's my favorite male character but his BJD version looks least like how I see him in my head. He needs to be a bit beefier and his face needs to be more mature ... Oh well. I can always dream they'll make a Super Hero body for JIDs and sculpt a stronger face *fingers crossed*

We can never say never, but the muscle/old body is pretty much a scaled down version of the old EID Super Hero body. Would like to see some beefier arms though -- like the Strongman Arms available for EID through the DCS (and probably SID eventually if they haven't already, since Edan had beefier arms too). ♥

 

Muscle body is indeed Super Hero.

Thicker arm-parts would be funny but cute... But I don't see them making any option parts for JID boys just because we want them, I mean, I'm even surprised they make more than one style of hands. It's like pulling teeth to get them to make any clothes. :P Way to build a line and then neglect it, Iples.

 

Can't forget that they just discontinued half of the boy sculpts, either. xD I've always wanted them to make fist parts for the JID boys, because I've always wanted to do a picture of a 'family fist bump' with my Evan, Storm, Ryan #1, and Tatiana. The only fists I lack are JID boy fists! D:

Good point, any new bodyparts wouldn't match old bodies anyway. Too milky.

I'm surprised they don't have boy hands with the hand closed since they have girl hands like that and that's much more a man thing to fist bump or punch.




In other news my down payment finally went through so my Colin is offically ordered!

 

Ooops, my error - I thought the Super Hero body was a third size with Muscle and Model being the other two. I didn't know it was just the arms ... That does me no good. I'm jonesing for a broader chest
And I'd rather more hand options over arms ANY day - I wouldn't even care that the resin doesn't match! Why do the JID boys get no love *cries*

 

EIDs have only 2 body-types, too-- Model & Super Hero-- which are both just bigger versions of JIDs. Except the thicker JID is called "Muscle" instead of "Super Hero". Only the name is different, the body shape is the same.

But just to make it more confusing for you: EID Super Heroes also have a choice of Regular & Strongman upper-arm parts. That is what JIDs haven't got.

(Strongman arms just have slightly bigger & more prominent biceps, triceps, & deltoids. They didn't used to be a regular thing; they started out as being the special LE-only body part for Noctarcana's Luo the Strongman; then later Iples decided they wanted to give other EIDs the maxi-muscle arms too, so now you can get 'em in CDS.)

As for me, I'm with you-- I'd rather have JID-B hand options, too! Little fists, that would be so perfect. :3 Max and Ripley NEED to play "two for flinching". They're boys, I mean, this is an imperative.

arrgh... okay for those who have BOTH JID boy and girl... I want to know if these shoes (the canvas types http://iplehouse.com/home/shop/item.php?it_id=1548463924&nhn1=en ) can work on a girls feet... I know by the numbers they shouldn't but.... if the toe had tissue in it? maybe?... I love the white tennis shoe type look ><. *crosses fingers someone has all three*... I don't care what color you have... all I want to know is if you can make the shoe work.

 

I would think JID girls have narrow enough feet to wear standard-MSD sneakers? Boys have the extra width to worry about, and since they can already fit some standard MSD shoes, I'd think the girls would even more standard-sized shoe options. Of course that's just me assuming because I haz no girls.

Max (Muscle JID) and Bijan (Superhero EID) are shaped almost exactly alike... same thick chest and waist, same double-wide butt, same posture. Bijan is 70cm tall, of course, so Little-Big-Man Max does indeed look veddy veddy small. 70 - 45 = 25 cm, so that's, like, a whole BID's difference between them!

Maybe if we bothered them enough about the fists, they'd "maybe consider it someday". ^^ I can't believe they have girl fists, but not boy fists? What are they thinking?? They haven't yet made a girl who needed fists, not with alla those frilly outfits. Harrumph, I says.

 

Yeah it makes no sense males are much more likely to need fist hands then the girls. and I was looking to see if the girl hands might work anyways but nope the female wrists are apparently 4.2 cm smaller than the muscle boys wrists XD.

First just you... nothing standard about IH JID girls any more than the other sizes lol... (love most of 9style shoes.. but no go ><)... and they are not 'fists' for girls... think of them as "nyan" or 'neko' hands lol... that's how they tend to use them in poses... the cutesy or 'oh dear me' fist to mouth expression -_- ... while I don't mind kitty ppl per se... I can't stand() the overly sweet images lol.. I'll take a neko boy any day (sorry reading yaoi neko manga/stories again lol )

 

They sure look like fists! Girly fists, I guess, with the pinky half-up. (Not as dippy-neko-y as, say, those ones that Volks makes.)

The boy hands #02 set is definitely like kitty hands for boys. It is cute, though the closed-loop ones aren't as good for holding things as you'd think. ^^ And they don't even give you two of each pose. Max and Ripley each have those, they like to mix-and-match that set with the regular ol' slab-hands. But dernit, they still would love to have fists...

 

I've just caught up with several months of posts in this thread.

Adding support to something a number of you said a while back, I'm looking for dolls that look like grown-ups and happen to be MSD size. My ideal would be Carina and Rex (or Leonard) retaining their proportions but made about 43-48 cm tall.

I have an Isar, who's as near as I could get to Carina in the size I wanted (and gorgeous in her own right), but who still has the JID chubby-cheeks thing going on.

My Tatiana cane with just the most beautiful hazel eyes. I really like the complimentary iplehouse eyes, they're so realistic! I love that they're a few different shades. I've scoured Dollmore for realistic eyes but the only ones I can find are very low quality. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Even the iplehouse store sells single colour eyes that are almost cartoony.

 

Boof, I love Eyeco eyes, I find them very realistic and beautiful, especially the platinium line !
That's what my avatar is wearing, Eyeco Smoke in 11mm (= 10mm in normal sizing).
Don't trust Safrindoll pictures though, they are not true to the colour, you'd better check their colour on the manufacturer's website :

Aw, your post makes me happy, cause I finally decided on some 10/11 Eyeco eyes for my Cecile (they are on shipping already) - I love Eyeco eyes, I just haven't been sure which size to get, but finally just went ahead and ordered.

Yes, 10/11mm is a perfect size for my Leona, and it should be for your Cecile !

 

LOL Normally I'm a staunch advocate of 10/11mm eyes in all my smaller IH dolls, but my Leona is the only one who kept the 12mm eyes she came with. They were such a nice colour, and looked so good, I just kept them. Odd.

 

I use both the 10/11 and the original 12s my Leona came with, and I like her in both. I think you will be happy with your eye purchase.
if you check out my Flickr album, the brown eyes are 12mm and the green ones with the blond wig are the 10/11. Although they are ovals and not eyecos.

 

I voted - Woo Hoo Maybe Iple will get the hint and see that there is love out there for the JID guys and do more for them (?) maybe ...

I gave Callum's eyes to my new girl and was gonna put his original ebony eyecos in but for fun I tried this pair in him. Not sure what I think as I'm more than a little partial to dark eyes and these look rather light next to his RS and black hair. I think I'll leave them in for awhile and see if they grow on me...

I like them Ban, very soulful.

 

I like the lighter colour too. I find eyes much darker than that to be hard to photograph, myself - they look good in person but then they turn into black holes unless the lighting is just right.

i think they look good ban. they don't look like at all in the pictures. (but then i'm like solitary agent i've got lighter eyes in all my dolls just so you can see them in the photos. except for super close ups i find the eyes always look darker in pictures than in real life so i pick what works in photos instead)

 

Fist hands for JID boys would be so cool! Then I'll make a kickboxer, with kickboxpants and a belt and... the fist hands ofcourse.

Better to get IH working on them 'now' so they have them when we 'boy-less' ppl want our boys??? ;p

 

Love the Eyeco colors, do not love the 'sticky' silicone. I have either smoke or smoke topaz for Kassia in 11mm.

Thank you! Kyle just wore part of his default outfit - his costume is my interpretation of Boromir's costume in LOTR. All my JIDs and MSDs have just one outfit each, and I wasn't going to make clothes specially for this photo shoot, so I just removed Kyle's black leather tunic. I borrowed my Kassia's elaborate white dress (without the big bulky sleeves) as a 'wedding dress', and made a veil to go with it. I didn't include any 'adult' guests, as none of my other dolls are wearing anything suitable for a wedding.

Thanks! I didn't have any doll-scale knives, and since the couple are royalty in their story, and it's supposed to be a fantasy epic, I figured a short sword would be perfect - and I have lots of those.

Thanks! I was really pleased how everything worked out. The photos were taken in my backyard, on my patio table. It's a very handy photography spot this time of year, since everything in my garden is way too big a scale. So I set up on the table in the afternoon when it's in the shade, take a seat on a bench, and use 'forced perspective' to make the garden work in the background.

 

I've seen in photo's where weddings in ceremonial 'military' wear and they actually use the 'sword' ^_^. So this works perfectly really!

 

LaurieESW: the outfit looks really nice! I think it's a great idea to make another steampunk outfit for your Asa, maybe with some Chinese details?

 

So I really, really tried to leave the hazel eyes in Callum - I like that they were so warm but ... well, I found a pair of grey eyes and, I think they suit him more

I ordered some Eyeco eyes, they're beautiful. Thing is, the waiting time is eight weeks and I ordered two sets, so the lady let me pick out a third pair as a free gift. What a lovely gesture! I had a hard time picking, as I only wanted two pairs, but I ended up choosing a pair for the EID lady I've got on the way.

In the mean time, June explores her new home. I've seen photos of dolls with stuffed animals but I think this one is a tad too big for her.

I totally agree! I thought the 'teddy rabbit'(?) was a great size! what kid doesn't love a giant stuffie! She'd be all cuddly safe and protected ^^.
