Oh a lovely new thread

I'm just about ready to get my 2nd JID & I'm wanting a girl to go with my RS Boris. I can't decide on RS Kassia with freckles (make up A) or RS Amy with freckles (make up C)

I've been looking through the old threads but can't find either girls in these colours (will keep looking though ). In the mean time I'd love to see pics of these gorgeous girls with the colours I'm looking for.....if there's any out there I haven't any objections to seeing other colours too

I still can't believe he just plunked down in that pose. It is such a classic pensive Gavin pose. My life needs to calm down some so he can get some love again. I need to finish his snazzy outfit so he can have some new photos.

@Ban, Ryen is absolutely delicious in those tight laceup pants and long lush hair. I suspect the grumpiness is all in the service of increasing one's smolder. The pants are absolutely the winner. JIDs need more tight sexbomb rockstar pants like that! Will you be volunteering your sewing machine for Iplehouse? ;}

@Kris, Gavin looks great in those Slim Line Jeans that I have been coveting but waited too long to buy & now they're Sold Out. ;;^^ Lovely lean lines on those pants. (I have them in EID size, but that doesn't help Ripley's little butt!)

My contribution to the litany of fine pants today: Leggings. Dollmore MSD size. It was a tight squeeeeze, but Ripley got into them. Max didn't bother trying. xD

 

And does Ripley ever wear them well.

I do love the slim line jeans, but lord help you if you want even the model body boys to sit in them. I have to pop the button, then he still can't bend his legs to sit on, say, a chair. No stretch. But they look great!

 

Hehe - you also have to unbutton the EID-size slim line jeans if you want him to sit. They look great, but they're definitely made for standin'. Unbuttoning is just the default requirement for just about ANY Iplehouse men's pants, I think!

 

His words (to his own regret) were: "Mollie? Sure I'll watch her - she's a sweet little girl! Don't worry about a thing; you two go have a nice afternoon together. After all, kids love me!"

Kazegoroshi, your Franzi is so pretty and looks great, even if you DID get her up too early The pink plaid shoes and Cal black sneakers are from myebayer on ebay and Gia's yellow sneakers are from 2debsadorables on ebay. Look for shoes that fit the 14" Kish Chrysalis dolls. They fit our girls very nice. The pink plaid ones are actually too big. Hope that helps!

Thanks! Nope, didn't make this one - it's actually a shirt from a Souldoll boy's outfit set that managed to fit over her glamour bust, haha.

 

Ha, that's a boy's shirt? I never would have guessed! It looks very good. But that's nice to know. Do any other Souldoll boy items fit a JID? (and mine girl "only" got the large bust)

And now Iple has announced a new fantasy pirate themed line. I am doomed--especially if/when they release JIDs. I mean, come on, there HAS to be a cabin boy, right?

Hmmm, priates ... I'm hoping more for a captain or first mate myself. I can certainly appreciate the qualities of the younger JID guys but I'm all about the more mature looking ones. I'm DYING for a JID sized Storm or even Giorgio, who looks amazing in owner pics (not so much in the Iple promo pics) *sigh*

 

Oh, I agree. I just have this feeling that the Captain is going to go to some new EID as always seems to happen ... and First Mate probably an SID male or some sexy side lady. A mature, seasoned Cabin Boy type I would go for (and I agree, they have enough young-uns left for now). Or ... maybe a merman since they are talking fantasy ... a mini-Mer-Giorgio would be to die for. (ok, sucker for fantasy, sorry!)

Now ... warring ships would be interesting in this story though ... hrm ... More opportunities for JIDs to surface in unexpected roles maybe?

 

Me, I want an EID cabin boy. But a pair of cute little JID midshipmen would be the bomb! Say, I've already got two beer-swilling mini midshipmen here, all they need is the clothes. And maybe a parrot.

I was wondering where they were going with the new "coming soon" clothing sets-- they don't really look piratey, but they do look fantasy-forest demon-hunter-y. Whatever the upcoming fantasy phase is, I'm hoping it will involve leggings for boys. After all, not everyone can squeeze into Dollmore tights. xD (My friend with all the Renaissance-themed Iple guys gets his tights made by Dale Rae, who realized the value of making plus-sized men's leggings early on.)

 

I like where you're going with this - warring ships would be awesome !!! And I know you're right about the EID/SID angle but my fingers are crossed just the same. Someday they're gonna realize the JIDs need their own story-lines. They don't fit proportionally with the bigger dolls (IMO they are too small to be teenagers. I was as tall as I am now in 9th grade and my 11yr old daughter is taller next to me than a JID next to an EID. They look more like halflings ... mini rant over - I know there are those who disagree and I don't want to step on any toes or make things uncomfortable. The best part about this hobby is the creative license !!!)
And I'm with you on the fantasy element as well - merman wouldn't work for any of my characters but Iple has always been good in allowing customers the opportunity to select (or not) fantasy parts and I think a lot of people would jump on the chance for a merman

 

i agree with you ban. i've seen some people use jid's as kids successfully with bigger dolls (usually by dressing them as children), but mine are the adults in my doll world along with my other minifees. for me personally with the figures they have they just don't look realistic with the larger dolls, the gap is just too big to be a simple height variance. it seems like most people who collect mature minis instead of immature ones seem to make them adults. it could be worse though. at least iplehouse sees/treats them as teenagers. we were noticing on the souldoll site the other day that the soulkids, who have all have glamour sized busts are supposed to represent 6-9 yr olds!

the new costumes look neat too from the pictures. they have a concept drawing up for the first yid girl now.

 

Haha, Gavin doubles if I bite the bullet and get larger dolls. When he is with them , I plan on dressing him kid like (they'd be older relatives), otherwise adult. Advantage to Time Traveling storylines and the model body? (is it bad that I've thought this through? he would like to be 3 different sized dolls due to his timey-wimey nature).

To be fair, I have no need for a Merman, but ... I could be swayed I think. At any rate, I'm looking forward to clothes! We'd best not get the shaft!

 

I had not even considered a JID boy with the new theme O_O ... Now all the talk of 'cabin boys' is starting to worry me... Jessica (I) is looking a tad too hopeful LOL... I'll definitely need to get her at least ONE of those outfits.... but now I'll have to choose if I want my Iple sea crew .

 

Oh, I really hope they release some nice JID guys with this new line! ... But please, not just now, my wallet, bank account and credit card would strongly disagree.

 

It's be great if they released some mature looking JID boys with the new line, but I'm not holding my breath. If you look on the Iple page under the "Iplehouse Theme Dolls", "Carved Heritage", the new line, only has tabs for EID, SID and nYID. I'm still holding out for other sizes later, but I'm not gonna get my hopes up too high. :-/

you're right, they haven't had a themed jid boy since the noctarcana circus. on the other hand that means the boys are never limited sculpts... they just don't get the cool outfits either.

 

I don't know why they get the cold shoulder treatment. How many of us would *love* to have more JID guys and would jump on a cool limited boy in a heartbeat? I know I'm not the only one who likes to have same size pairs. I'm still trying to hold out to the teeny hope that they'll introduce someone to pair up with, or at least compliment, JID Violet....especially since they included Addiction Stella to pair with Victor. But...idk. I guess time will tell.

 

I totally agree! For me personally, my Franzsika looks so mature, I think I need another mature looking guy for her. And Iplehouse does have them. I am just not in love with any of the existing male JID sculpts, so I really hope they release some new ones. Older looking ones.
Maybe, maybe, they will add more sizes to that Carved Heritage line, or maybe, they will create a completely new one for the smaller sized dolls?

Nope, you are NOT the only one. I'm still wondering myself why they made a larger replacement for Victor but not a smaller replacement for Violet ... *shrug* Hope may be slim but I'm holding out with you!!!

 

Seriously, though given it looks like no new JIDs for a bit (and they SHOULD be coming after they up and retired four boys!), I'm really trying to plan my first girl. It hit me that Grace is reaaaaally an upsized Isar, a sculpt I've been "eh" about before, but I think with one of Grace's face ups she'd be totally different looking (which makes me rethink OCs again). Then there is Leona ... who I love, and of course, Violet, who I've pegged for Alexis for Gavin, but that girl is so much trouble I'm not sure I want her to be my next doll.

In case anyone wants to chip in on my brain-farts there's some bad photoshoppery ... Rory's eyes are a bit gentle for what I was thinking and I can't seem to emphasize her smile enough, but it is so hard to find a good blank image for most of them. I'm torn bt LB (thanks Ripley you hunk) and RS for her. Then Amanda is kind of jumping between Isar and Leona now. The indecisiveness is half the fun?

I feel like I've earned a reward for a variety of reasons (and I was good and didn't jump on Oscar in hopes he'll be downsized ... *sighs*) Plus, really want to work on some dresses, so I'm considering this month or next month's CDS (floppy legs aside).

 

Unfortunately I don't know, since it's the only Souldoll set I have - but I imagine a lot of their stuff would work well, since they're on the larger side for MSDs.

 

.... I knew I recognized it... My first thought was 'Gee that looks a lot like something Soul Doll would make'. Just a note if anyone has EID gals... zenith boy stuff fits EID women with a "medium" bust ^^ looks like my theory might be right... Choose the "male" items (from Soul Doll) for similar sized females of IH... This is ONLY a theory!

 

Ohhhhhh, we'd better not be cheated on clothes with this new series. Iple posted more photos. Both outfits for Bliss are to die for! Loving it!

It's the weirdest thing... they've had that JID Vintage Backpack out for a long long time now, but no real outfits to go with it. The Hunter clothes look like they're meant to match exactly with that style, so they'd be nuts not to make some JID sets!

(My JIDs are too modern for the medieval-forest style, but I've still been considering that backpack, to go with their grunge-meister selves when they go hiking up on the mountain. ^^)

Yes, that's it-- so cute & so Road Gypsy.

But not the style of my modern-grunge-pixie boys. What I really want is that backpack in an EID size, because I have a Luo who's absolutely the road-gypsy type. But this little thing would look like a clutch-purse in his enormous hand. xD

 

UGH - I had a dream I signed in here and everyone was talking about the TWO new JID boys they'd put up overnight ... guess it's not true

 

unfortunately not though if they came up with a new jid with a costume like bliss's i would be seriously tempted to actually buy a fullset, something i almost never do! i think i could manage to recreate the look of most of the costume myself , but those boots and that sword are amazing! not that he would fit in with any of my other dolls that way, but still it would be worth it to get that look!

 

I would love a Pirate theme outfit for my Ryan, and some boots to go with it.

 

I wouldn't mind some lovely 'dated' clothing ... the good thing about 'medieval-ish' clothing, it can be modified and/or paired with other things so it doesn't always have to look fantastical or piratey or vampire hunterish

I realized Ryen has been Ryen now for several months and hasn't had one 'official' shoot with Falyn. He insisted I try to capture their first 'romantic' moment - not that it's all that romantic per se ...

For all our sakes, I hope some of these dreams come true. More boys would be wonderful. I myself have a fantasy of a JID Bichun. Awww.

I put up some more cute-clothes-modelling shots of Ripley in the Gallery... The different ways in which the two boy body-types wear clothing, it's still kind of blowing me away. It's just like people, when they're the same size but slightly different thicknesses; they do different things to clothes & look good in different things.

Alright, I have a spam request. I'm planning my girls and trying to make a couple hard decisions. One is a skin tone one (shock shock). I see a lot of awesome photos of black haired girls with RS. Does anyone have any spam they can share of any JIDs with PG skin and black hair?

Alexis is still trying to be first (my Violet candidate), but I know I would have so much fun with Amanda ... who is determined to be a Leona I think. Amanda's Gavin's sister and I think the Owen/Leona combo shares a decent resemblance (though Violet ... come on. But I can only see Alexis in her, feisty red-headed goth beauty she is). Anyway, yes, if that exists it would be appreciated. I'm indecisive and I think the hair color might make or break.

Would be interested in the opposite for red heads ... out of curiosity (though I think PG wins for them hands down).

If Ban's dream about boys turns into a premonition all bets are probably off here, haha!

 

If no one answers before tomorrow - I'll plop Ryen's wig on Kellan, he's PG. I realize he's a ... he but it still might help you make a decision unless of course I have more dreams tonight - third time's a charm eh?!?

 

3 times is always the charm, right? Haha. And hey, male helps too, especially if your dreams become reality! (and you would think this year, since the JID girls in production waaay outnumber the boys now!).

I'm not sure how Gavin feels about his space being invaded by girls in the future (sister or partner in time travel asied), but he's getting over James. Either of those ladies I'd bring home wouldn't let him get away with sulking too long (using completely different methods ...)

 

Ooo, loving the new series!! I'm hoping they don't leave out the JIDs this time and include guys. I'm to the point where I might have to branch back into the larger dolls if not.

Speaking of boys...I just begged Iple to make one last Addiction doll and do a JID male. I told them that a lot of people on Den of Angels were wanting a guy. They said that they would try to present my request. So if anyone ever wanted a boy now is the time to try begging. Before they close the series totally.
