Iplehouse Fashion Doll Discussion - Part 9

Apr 6, 2019

    1. I have posted this one before, but it shows off the curvy body really nicely in their skin tight clothing. This is my Shinji on their female body - which is the curvy with the medium bust - they are a Carina sculpt. (old faceup and black wig buuuut yeah. XD )

And for the small breast on the Athletic body - it has been done! Someone in this thread has one and did a comparison shot earlier.

    2. @Sillion & @AjiAji Here is Harace with the small bust on an athletic body! I don't have anyone with the small bust on another body type for comparison, though.[IMG]

    3. @ResinRapture Thanks! Your nieces sound like fun, haha!

@Sillion, I have a lahela on order with the curvy body, but obviously I won't be able to make references for you until she arrives in a couple months. AjiAji's example is pretty solid for all the more mature heads I think: the effect is just of a somewhat petite build, and that's not weird at all.

    4. @Evey Thank you very much for the picture! I'm happy to see that the option of small bust on athletic body is real. Beautiful Harace! I love that sculpt, I hope I will add another one to my doll crew.

@AjiAji Thanks! I have to say your Shinji (Carina) looks quite natural on the curvy body. So it's worth the try! I'd love to have various bodies in my small collection, which I have so far, I enjoy the diversity.

    5. @Evey, your Harace (autocorrect tried “Horace,” LOL) looks very well proportioned with small breast/athletic body. I may choose that combo for my next purchase...although the curvy body is also lovely. Too many choices, too little money...

    6. I think the ladies are starting a revolution. They do not appear to be happy with the 3:1 ratio
Isabel started wearing a t-shirt today saying they need billions of dollars. Worried how this is going to end.:ablink::chomp::chomp::chomp:

    7. LOL! Laurie they do indeed look disgruntled

    8. After accidentally ripping off half his eye paint with the messed up eyelash, I had to redo Dante's face in entirety. I decided to go go a whole different direction with him this time. Happy ending, I like him better! I never cease to be amazed by the brilliant sculpting of the Iplehouse dolls. The Rex sculpt is no exception, such strength and softness in the same face. Brilliant sculpt!!

    9. @sisen Wow! I love the faceup! Very unique Rex!

    10. He is a very unique Rex indeed @sisen! Great job!

    11. Gorgeous Rex! If I'd seen that first, I may have made a different decision about head sculpt.

No faceup yet here, but the new wig is in and I'm happy to say that it fits! Facets 6-7. I'll restyle it later on.

    12. I like that wig, I have it and it works up really nicely. You can’t go wrong with Lawrence either another great sculpt!

    13. Thanks for the encouragement! :D I'm really looking forward to seeing him looking more like himself.

After fighting with the first wig for longer than I should have, I'm glad I broke down and bought a second one. (And now I know more about sizing, hah.)

    14. @sisen I love your Rex. I would be afraid I wouldn't be able to re-create the same look but you have retained his character I think. He is gorgeous!

Just popping in to share another dress...this time Raffine is doing the modeling ;)

    16. Beautiful dress and girl Lyanne, love the fabric! Great job of photoshopping the joints too!
Off to read your photo story MB Lilac. I’m sure it’s going to be a treat!
Thanks everyone for the nice comments on my Rex. I was so upset when I screwed up his face, but it all worked for the best.

    17. Such beauty! @LyanneNZ and romance. Like a movie, @MB Lilac

Can't wait to see him finished, @redsixwing , I love redheads as everyone ought to know by now, LOL

    18. @IngieBee I think it was you who posted the extensive collection of redhead face photos? :D I've used it pretty extensively in planning his faceup!

    19. Wow, all of these pictures are amazing people's!!!

@redsixwing oh wow, I don't remember doing that, but it sounds like something I'd do??? My memory is horrible, LOL. If you have a link, I'd love to see it, even if I was the person who posted it, ROFL.

    20. @IngieBee Sorry to disappoint - now that I'm looking for it, I can't find it. OTL It's a Pinterest collection, and those are notoriously difficult to search.
... crud... I wanted to see some of those again too!

    21. Thank you Lyanne. Carina will be joining her in about 60 days if I'm lucky.

Your Raffine is truly divine. I hope to get a Raffine one day.

    23. As always beautiful story and amazing photography, Martha. After the last picture, it should go " ....... "

    24. @sisen: Gorgeous faceup! Can I ask where you got his wig? I've been trying to find a curly brown one for my Dane and struck out twice so far. :sigh

    25. Autumnfallen, I’m pretty sure it’s called Tomboy but I can’t remember the company name. Let me hunt it down.

UPDATE: it’s a Kemper wig and it is the Tomboy style, I believe the color is medium brown. I think Laurie here is a rep.

    26. @LyanneNZ She's stunning, and now you're making me think I need a Raffine. These dolls are dangerous!

      @sisen, he looks fantastic!

I got my dollines order, and popped a pair of the standard 6mm ovals in Faith. Size is ideal for Miho generally and my aesthetics style specifically. I couldn't be happier. :love

    27. I got 4 pairs of DOLLine eyes recently for my big boys but only Kris Wu can handle an oval in his round eye sockets. Haha. Just the opposite from my FIDs that like ovals best!

I love small iris eyes the best. Mostly use Dreaming Tree paperweight ovals. They look less dreamy/yearny to me. When dolls look yearny, I buy them friends which I can't afford to do now!

      • x 3
    28. She must have really small eye openings Rianne, I guess “one size fits all” doesn’t work with the FIDs. Faith is stunning and don’t you love the quality of the DoLLines eyes?!

      Too funny Mahgiep!

    29. Can someone post a link to the dolline eyes?
One of my favorite couples, Lawrence and RD Monica...………..you can read their story(or at least what I've written of it so far) on my blog linked in my signature.

    30. @sisen, Her eyes are pretty narrow vertically, but long horizontally. I tried them in claude (who has fairly large/wide eyes) and they fit him well too. I think it's more to do with the way I scale details when painting. More stylized faceups (for lack of a better term) will make the eyes look too small. I'll have a Lahela and a Carina to compare with in a month or so (hopefully haha). I can do eye pics before and after faceups if y'all think that will be helpful.

    31. Thanks for the link, @nancy_schroeder_ca ! OMG, the eyes are gorgeous, but how on earth do you pick a color when there are so many beautiful options within each color family? I need eyes but I can't decide!

    32. Butting in on the subject of eyes (which have been the biggest pain for me about this size) I managed to snag some small iris 8mm from Shrike Aesthetics this weekend at Resin Rose for my Leonard (my Vanessa too, but she's still faceless). I think they work really well for this size myself:
There's a teeny tiny bit of a gap in the corner, but other than that these eyes are amazing for this size! They photograph quite nicely -- even in lower light -- for how tiny they are. Here's another pic.

Also this is my Leonard Tristan!;)

    33. He’s a handsome fellow pop tart, always good to have an additional eye source

Vermont chick, it helps if you remember how small they are. Some of the more detailed ones aren’t going to look much dlfferent except in extreme close ups. You probably can’t go wrong with any of them

      • x 2
    34. @sisen - Thanks for the tip. The detail is amazing but if it doesn't show up I'll go for a simpler iris.:thumbup

    35. Yes, the color is medium brown, by Kemper in the Tomboy style. This is the photo I shared of my Lawrence which I think you saw the potential of the wig for your Rex, once styled. Sherry, love his look and new face-up.

    40. Her Highness is beautiful! I love her hair!

    41. Thank you! I’m pretty sure it’s the Victoria wig from Facets Boutique. It has a wonderful chignon bun in the back.

    42. Sisen, Congratulations on your beautiful Ms Medici! She does carry that gown beautifully as well, so I guess we are happy to give her a "look at me" moment... or three! Gorgeous photos <3

Rianne, those eyes are perfect for Faith, aren't they. Very lovely indeed.

Haha Vermont Chick. I'm with you on the Aaargh! So much choice! (which is one of the nicer dilemmas to have, isn't it) re those fab Dolllines Eyes. Simple schmimple - I think I have filled my basket up with "possibles". I look forward to seeing what you choose. I shall be a while with my selection yet lol!

    43. @sisen - Her Serene Highness looks serene, confident, and thoroughly regal. Gorgeous gown, wig and makeup!

@LilyAndRuby - The last time I filled my cart with "possibles" I ordered way too many pairs of eyes.:XD: I need to take another look at those and see if there is anything I can use. Some of the colors were disappointing and some of the sizes don't fit the dolls who need them. Don't worry, they were from a different seller.

    44. @sisen She looks beautiful- and very content and gentle. Lovely version of her.

    45. @vermont chick just to add to @sisen's observations, a lot of the details aren't super visible if you're not working with a top-end camera/lens, but if the eye has warm/cool contrast in the details (like a blue eye with gold central heterochromia) you'll absolutely see that contrast as a neat tonal variation that changes the eye's look in different light, angles etc. The ones Faith is wearing are a grey with gold central heterochromia, so sometimes they look blue, sometimes green sometimes grey... and there's a lot of contrast that allows for a sharp gaze. More solid colors look softer at this scale. I have both types and love them, so this is just to help you decide for your specific aims. :)

@sisen, you really are making it hard to be patient while waiting for my own carina. She's stunning!

    46. @rianne,Very beautiful make: a lively face! Miho:love

    47. Lovely and she has a very realistic faceup!
Can I ask where you got her eyes? They look realistic too <3

    48. Sure, they’re the 6mm oval glass eyes from Dollmore. I got them on eBay, I don’t have all the colors yet, but hope to as they work really well in my dolls and I like how they photograph.

    49. @dollfasion Thank you!

Here's another shot of Faith with more eye detail. I wasn't even trying to capture the iris detail, but you can see it decently even at this small image size.

    50. @rianne, Faith is really stunning in that wig! I love the modification and face-up. The eyes are extremely realistic.

    51. @rianne I'd like to see her profile sometime.

    52. I thought they might be - I really prefer the look of glass :) TY!

    53. @Crescendolls Thank you!

@Mahgiep I need to do more profile shots of her, but you can see her profile and straight-on with all the mods blank here if that's what you're curious about. :)

    54. Found some fun props for the dolls over the past week or so. More details on the blog. I thought these compass charms were so cute though! THe little needles inside really spin around. Very fun! They were earring charms. I also found some blade charms that can work well as dirks for the dolls. Details in the link below. Thought others might be interested as well.

    57. Trust me - we ALL love your Rex. Is his wig style available to buy somewhere? My Rex would love one like it.
