Iplehouse Fashion Doll Discussion - Part 9

Apr 6, 2019

    1. On a happy note, I thought the 6mm were going to be a waste of money. Tried them on Rex and I think they will work just fine. He has really small eye openings! So I guess what I learned is every doll is different and you just have to experiment, lol!

    2. I am glad it worked out in the end. I am hoping the same with the 6mm/4mm I have coming. The idea is the guy I want to get has smaller eyes so it should work the same as your Rex.

    3. Crossing my fingers for you AjiAji!

    4. Bit the bullet and picked up an FID Lawrence! Very excited: by the time he gets here, the humidity should have died down, and I should be able to give him a nice body blush and make a nice wig.

All this eye talk is really interesting! I've got all mine from Dreaming Tree, but I'm liking the look of these Dollines. Where are you all getting them? I had a quick google and couldn't find anything.

    5. I've only ever encountered SID and EID, so that's my scope of exposure to their posing abilities (ie: not well lol). How do FID compare to MNF, for example?

    6. DollLines I got from Etsy. Thanks to everyone for providing photos of the eyes! I think next time I'll go for the 8mm. Elle's eyes are very squinty but wide if that makes sense, so they need small iris but long whites. The 6mm Dollmore ones I have my other doll fit perfectly and Dollmore sell through eBay so I might do that rather than order from the site.

    7. Oh my goodness. My computer died - all good now though, fingers crossed! - so I've had pages of brilliant comments to read and catch up on. Like getting a favourite magazine, isn't it!

Sisen, re Eyes, thanks so much for all the photos and info. Your doll family is looking beautiful, and I'm so glad the 6mm eyes suit Rex so well! I love the colour of the pale 7mm ones on your Raffine too (her faceup is already gorgeous by the way; loving those ruby lips).

I also agree about the 6mm Glib glass eyes - they are by far my personal favourites, I just really wish they had more colours to choose from as well, and that they were not as rare as hens' teeth (and therefore so expensive!). Sisen your girl with the Hazel Glib eyes looks amazing.

Xyuemoto.. your Bichun is sooo handsome!! And those lilac eyes and hair :D

    8. Good morning!
Uncle Junho and Yoona are pretty excited because Hwan has started to crawl!

    9. @Mahgiep
I would be interested in seeing your souldoll hybrid :kitty2

    10. Well, I just ordered Baron, in Real Skin, with faceup. He can be a brother to Rex.

    11. Thank you @skyealloway!
He looks great in lots of clothing styles and wigs too. He is not part of my story, but every now and then I get a yen to photograph him in a lot of different moods. I had to open his neck hole but it was actually not bad, even sanding by hand.

    12. The hybrid looks great with the Vito head!

    13. He looks great!

    14. @Shinta I'll take an FID over MNF any day. But it's apples and oranges. MNF are cartoony and meant to pose vaguely like anime figures, but with a more limited range. FID do more human poses. They have great range of motion, and hold poses beautifully if strung correctly. The thigh mobility part makes a huge difference imo, but regardless, they're graceful and natural-looking as long as you pay attention to anatomy. If you're talking about the generic 'can your doll do this' poses like touching a hand to the face or lying on the stomach reading, etc, they can do it with no problem. For more versatile posting, say standing with weight on one hip, foot outstretched, etc FID perform beautifully. They're not like genuinely pose-oriented dolls (like russian fashion dolls, Dollstown big bodies, etc), but where general abjd posing is concerned, they're excellent.

I hope that helps! When I get a chance, I'll put together a posing shoot for you guys.

      @honestrabbit Thank you!

    15. Last blank face done! Thanks to Safiah for letting this girl come to live with me ;)
These are the eyes purchased from Dollmore. They are 6mm ovals. The iris is larger than the DoLLines but work just fine in her eyes.

    16. That's a gorgeous faceup on her!

    17. She's gorgeous!

    18. Thank you! Sheโ€™s my first freckled girl. With that hair, I think she needs me to make her a โ€œDisney Meridaโ€ dress with a bow and quiver.

      • x 1
    19. @sisen - I have to agree with the others: She's gorgeous! Love the faceup, the hair is perfect with it, and I think a full Merida costume with bow and quiver would be the icing on the cake!

    20. @sisen, your Doria is beautiful!
A fun shot of my fantasy power trio...โ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆ..the NS Lawrence is on a Raccoon body.

    21. Today we had nice weather. So i was sitting at the balcony and crochetting a bikini for Emma. And she was like "hurry up, i wish to go to the beach"- well, babe... have fun, your bikini is finished

    24. JinClincy, love your trio of stud muffins! What sculpt in the fella in green on the left please?

Your girl in her bikini is going to make all the boys happy, greeneyedsoul !

Had to check out your blog, ResinRapture, never would have guessed him as Tedros. I love his look and styling!

    25. Thanks! On the left is Raccoon Doll Elf Kai in sweet mocha.

    26. He is such a regal elf and yet beautiful at the same time!

    27. Just enjoying a lazy afternoon in the sun....

    28. Beautiful! Where did you take the photo? It looks such a gorgeous setting.

    29. I took it at the lookout point at Bottle Cove, out Humber Arm, in Newfoundland. I took these two along on a road trip to Newfoundland recently, and am still working on processing all the photos I took. I've been posting them on my website in the order I took them. Eventually they'll get woven into the proper order for a story.

      This was the same location....

    30. @sisen, that faceup and wig are perfection.
@greeneyed-soul, Emma looks so cute with her new outfit and bike.
@ResinRapture, Tedros looks really endearing with his pleasant eyebrows and glasses. Itโ€™s really striking how much the brow shape affects expression.
@JinCIncy, your power trio looks ready for anything! I wouldnโ€™t mess with them.
@MB Lilac, your photos are stunning - I canโ€™t wait to see them in order.

    31. Got a new wig and Allegra snagged it. Along with an old Tonner size dress that has to be pinned closed in the back, LOL.

    32. @sisen Awesome look! Definitely Marilyn-vibes. Is that a Monique-wig?

    33. Thanks Ashemanu, yes it is. I can't remember the name I'll have to look it up.

Edit: It's a Marianne in 5/6 Bleach blonde. FacetsBoutique currently has it on clearance sale.

    34. It looks like the Marianne wig to me. I have a couple in that style and it looks to be the same to me. Allegra looks gorgeous @sisen!

    35. What a great shot! Love the pose and the filter gives it such a professional quality!

    36. Faith is such a beauty Rianne, and I love her spangly dress!

And Sisen, your Doria is a preraphaelite-esque stunner with those titian locks and beautiful face. Merida with a bow and arrow will be great! Are you going to make one? I need a bow and arrow for my FID wannabe archers and am constantly on the lookout, but no joy as yet. Those Dollmore eyes are perfection for her, aren't they.

Greeneyed soul, Emma looks so fab on her bike!

ResinRapture your Tedros looks so intelligent. He's great.

MB Lilac Wow. Just Wow! Such marvellous pictures of the two of them. I love how the breeze looks like it is gently ruffling her hair.

Sisen, Allegra is so effortlessly beautiful, balancing gracefully on the metalwork, isn't she. I bet that was precariously fun to photograph.

    37. I was so many pages behind and look how many gorgeous photos! Jackie, love your men and your lovely, soft looking new Grace. Sisen, your new Carina is beautiful but then comes Doria and Raffine too and all such unique and lovely face ups! Green-eyed Soul your Mari is so pretty and I love her with her bike and cute summery outfit. MBLilac your outdoors photos with the horse are just incredible.

@rianne Your Miho is stunning! I came across her photos elsewhere before DoA but I noticed her as soon as I saw her. Lovely face up!

I am sure I have missed lots of acknowledgements but I so enjoyed a several page catch up!

I'm taking a few days off work and I am just experimenting with some sewing and took some new pics of Aaliyah. I just love this size! The discussions around eyes are really interesting too. I have some more Dollmore ones in my cart.

    38. Facets is a great (U.S. based) source for wigs. They also carry shoes, props, etc. Nothing specifically sized for FIDs that Iโ€™m aware of, however.

    39. The Fid female flat foot can fit in the shoes made for Matt. The shoes for Peter Pevensie are supposed to fit the FID male, but I havenโ€™t tried yet.

    40. An apple for Buck.....

    41. @sisen, thanks! No filter. I never use them XD Purely my own editing on the raw file.

@LilyAndRuby Thank you! Spangly is a good word for it haha. she's not even my glittery girl, but this color was too good on her.

@LyanneNZ I just ordered some of the glib eyes myself. Love your girl's casual seated position. Such a good illustration of what we were talking about re: how these guys pose naturally.

Re: the shoes at facets, these guys can wear the american model heels ( a bit long, so be careful with style).

    42. Ohh! Facets have some wigs the proper color for my guy. I got a Fatiao wig earlier, but it turns out to be so small, I can't even stretch it onto his head without it sliding right off.

I may have to make an order here. :D

    43. Here are a couple of my Iplehouse FID Elle. I have slowly been putting her look together and trying to get the hang of taking photos that do her some beauty some justice! I have never felt so bonded to a doll before.

    44. Wow Rianne, Iโ€™ve never worked with RAW, Iโ€™ll have to try it.

Honestrabbit, your Elle is stunning! Love that second shot, and she looks wonderful in that shade of green.

    45. @honestrabbit, your Elle looks so enigmatic in the second photo. I want to know more about that woman.

    46. I was wondering how my JID Victorian gown would fit Bianca, so tried it on her....
The skirt and sleeves are a touch short, and the jacket needed to be pinned tighter in the back, but otherwise it was a good fit. So next time I make a Victorian gown I'll make some small adjustments so it can fit both

    47. I caved and added my first FID to my collection a few months back. This is Doria and she will have a friend arriving in a couple of months... Carina. Doria Iplehouse

    48. @MB Lilac, your Victorian outfit is lavish and gorgeous!

    49. Thanks! It belongs to one of my JIDs.

    50. @rianne As my nieces would say: fantabeautic!

@sisen I have two pairs of peter pevensie from he-meife, and they do fit fid men. Better than the pair of black FID/JID guy dress shoes I ordered from Iple for them.

@MB Lilac Ah... another great outfit. Just out of interest, do you ever iron all your beautiful dresses, and if so, how do you do it? I imagine it's nearly impossible with all the ruffles and layers.

      @honestrabbit She is stunning.

I only press them when I'm making them. Never afterwards. In fact I crinkle many of the outfits on purpose.

    52. @ntinksrus Your Doria is lovely. Congratulations...looking forward to seeing who else is coming to join her :)

    53. So Shinji received their proper wig the other day and we nabbed some photos even though it was stupid humid outside. I had to take some photos with their new wig, even though their actual eyes shouldn't be here until later today. XD

They are a FID Carina on their male body - which is a modded ftm old slim body. x3

    54. Hi, are there more owners of FID curvy body here? I would so much love to see some pics of various heads on it. Especially the more adult sculpts as Harace, Raffine or Doria. I cannot decide if that would be a good match or if the body has too narrow shoulders for these heads. On Iple site there is Elle's head on the curvy body and it doesn't look quite right for me...

And second, on Iple shop there's the option of small breast available when I choose athletic body for FID woman. But no such option in body review. Do you think it's possible? Did anyone already tried this combination? And do you think they added the small bust option for the athletic body or is it just the curvy body small bust part?
