Iplehouse Fashion Doll Discussion - Part 12

OMG!! That chainmail is REAL! I thought you found a fabric that looked like chainmail. How many hours of work did you put into that outfit?

Is that a halter top or halter dress? I'd like to copy it. Is it from a pattern? Can you point me in the right direction?

 

Thanks @IngieBee and @Violet Kidd - Yes the chain mail is real, but I didn't make it. I tried that once years ago and it took a week to make one tiny square inch. My eyesight is much worse now so I wouldn't even try. So I ordered it from China. Two square foot samples from - Soft Stainless Steel Anti Cut Chainmail Screen - Buy Chainmail Screen,Anti Cut Chainmail Screen,Soft Stainless Steel Anti Cut Chainmail Screen Product on Alibaba.com. They sent it as a piece two feet by one foot. I took some photos when it arrived...


I do make sure to have fabric underneath so the chain mail never touches the doll itself, and only use the chainmail in areas where it would show. I don't make an entire bulky garment out of it, as I don't really care about 'historical accuracy' so I'm only into suggesting that there's chain mail underneath.

 

Wow, what a compliment! I'm giddy, but unfortunately, this was a sock competition from DoA that I ended up liking. It's a halter top with a skirt made from a shiny sock, then I made stockings from big stockings (also socks) and then I made a shrug, not shown, with a more lacy stocking, LOL. So I don't have a pattern However, I can try to make one, it'll take a little time, but I think I can get one together this week

@Anneke - Thanks. I felt the horses need a bit of 'help', so blushed them and made new tack for them all.

That is a great shot! Definitely feels like you've captured movement with the way her wig is, like you've caught her in the middle of turning.

 

Did Iplehouse raise the shipping price? I must be imagining it?

 

Yes, due to the pandemic, EMS only has their premium service right now At least, that's how I understand it. I can't see paying so much for shipping, I haven't bought from Iplehouse because the shipping hurt too much

 

Now why do your FID Iplehouse dolls look so good on their Battat horses, and my Mari looks like she's on a mutant?

 

You didn`t. Before the pandemic I paid around 70$ for standard EMS to Germany for a SID or EID. Yesterday for Vampire Hunter Dane I had to pay 126$. Yikes. But I wanted him so badly so I paid ...

@JinCIncy Your Mari alone looks lovely, especially with that pink-grey contrast. But I also love the background, so elegant!

 

I don't know. I blushed my horses and made them more realistic looking leather tack. Then they don't look so much like 'toys'. Although the 'posable' horse (one on the right) doesn't work as well....

 

If I need to contact Iple about a problem, which email adress is the correct one to contact them? Is it [email protected]? Anyone knows? I cannot login anymore and the password reset is not working.

@IngieBee - Yes I made those wings. They are a one pice unit with wires along the tops, and it clips onto the back of her gown. I thought adding wings would make the gown more versatile.
@Anneko - Thank you. I've been going around taking portraits of my dolls in the blossoms this spring.
@nancy_schroeder_ca - Thanks. I love her. Usually I get dolls in SR, but the promo photos of Yur in Normal just spoke to me, whereas the SR ones did not.

I finally managed to make the outfit that I saw in my mind for this doll. It's not perfect, but it's probably as close as I can get until I get new glasses (just had cataract surgery and the world is a bit fuzzy). There must be a special trick for making and turning gloves that I don't know - I just did my best.

Currently we are designing new clothes for FID-Women and we want to hear your ideas.

We want to gather your ideas about Iplehouse FID female clothes.
What do you want or what kind of outfit will go well with our body?

Any kind of idea will be helpful for us planning this summer so please share your precious ideas with us.
You can show us pictures, we'll reflect them as far as possible!

 

I would like to see FID clothing sets based on classic movies/movie stars - like Audry Hepburn, Jean Harlow, James Dean, Marlon Brando, Grace Kelly. I think the FID body is perfect for classic designer clothes.

 

@maro I would love to see more fantasy style outfits as well as more historical based outfits (like Greco-Roman styles)

 

Do you have a tutorial you use?

 

@maro I would love casual clothing and - most important - clothing in which the girls could sit without problems.

 

Did anyone notice Soo appeared with a new gypsy outfit available separately??

Ooo Yes, Skyalloway, fantastic choices! I second all of those, especially the Scandinavian styles and Elf-Ranger styles.

Iplehouse: Please could we have an Archer set with Bow and Arrows for the FID ladies?!!!

Also, Circus or Ballet edgy/dark styles (not too dark they stain our dolls though ) with flowers, laces and trimmings.

@skyealloway you about gave me a little heart attack when I read your post I come to catch up on the thread, and am greeted with the news that my favourite Iple sculpt of all time - that I vowed I would buy the second she got released as an FID size - is actually released.

I even asked Iple 2 years ago about her in this size, and they said they had no plans to release her, this has absolutely made my week!
Also the timing, it's my birthday this month, so the perfect excuse to buy her now the ordeal of picking options.
