Great that regular EMS Is available on the website.
About other Korean companies, I spoke with Jay at SJ about Fedex. She said it was only an option if there was no EMS to a country, then sent out emails to all with that info to clarify. Fedex costs more but at the receiving end. But the 51cm dolls are free Fedex.

 

Go into your order and the EMS number should be near the bottom. They put it in the order after it ships. They used to send out shipping notice emails, but I haven't received those from them in a long time. I just check the tracking in my order once the status changes to "shipping".

 

Scroll down, There are two delivery info sections. The first has the shipping address and the second has the shipping company and tracking number.

 

I was about to say that too! Wow, that's good of Supia and Raccoondoll to ship at Premium for free - I wish Iplehouse would do that too! I suppose it's a lot of extra money for them, but as you said - when I ordered it, that was the shipping price and shipping estimate - it would be good if they honored that, instead of saying the only option is to pay double the shipping I've already paid or wait until the pandemic is over (and who knows when that will be?) I suppose I could ask Iplehouse and see what they say. I've spent so much with them over the years!

I think you've misunderstood - my order has been ready and waiting to be shipped for months now - ordered in December, ready to ship around March - but they said they can either ship it out straight away if I pay extra for premium, or I just have to keep waiting for normal EMS to come back... on top of the 8 months I've already been waiting. I presume if it becomes available they'll ship my order straight out without me needing to remind them, I can't be the only one in this boat. But yeah, I am considering asking if they'll waive that fee now... I don't know. It's not really fair on me or them to have to pay the extra, the situation is out of both of our control! But yeah, normally their customer service is great - my order has been sitting there so long I keep messaging them to add bits and pieces to it, a wig here, a pair of shoes there... and they're fine with that!

I just wanted to add about the shipping...my HID Elle was ordered in January so she also got caught up in the disappearance of EMS shipping to New Zealand. I waited for a while but in the end made contact, was given the option to upgrade to Premium and after giving it some thought for a few days I decided to go ahead with that. I feel badly for Iplehouse and in fact all of the Korean doll artists (somehow all my favourite dolls come from Korea!). They will be hurting with less orders at the moment I am sure.

I felt quite panic stricken at the thought of not having access to Iplehouse dolls for a while..so I am happy that at least there is an option. Elle hasn't arrived yet but hopefully she is laying back, sipping champagne and enjoying her first class flight to NZ

 

Yeah, it's a problem! And I've definitely been burned by unexpected Paypal fees and shipping being more than I thought when I've sold dolls before too. Not sure what to do about my dolls - at this point, I'll wait a bit longer since where I am is in Stage 4 lockdown for the next 2 weeks, so I don't think many planes are flying in (or maybe none are?) - so I may as well wait until that's over at least and then see what changes. If nothing has, maybe I'll write to Iplehouse and ask them to reconsider. I mean, it's kind of dumb anyway because I ordered them blank, so I could get my usual face-up artist in Russia to do them, but I don't think the post is reliable to send off the heads to Russia anyway, so they still won't be finished dolls! But then, if I had them, I could start sewing for them at least, which I'm really looking forward to... Ah well, a bit more waiting to do in the meantime I guess!

 

Actually I didn't know. When an FID has any faceup other than Iple's, I have absolutely no facial recognition. Let's see if I recognize Bianca when you get her done!

 

My Arvid arrived today!

The Raccoon Doll shirt/pants and Dollmore Zaoll pants I bought fit.
It's a start of a wardrobe!!!


Now I need to find him a tiny but realistic wig.

@PumpkinKings - He's looking gorgeous even without eyes, face-up, or wig. That's a fine-looking horse, as well [Our Generation, I'm guessing]. Is his character a cowboy?

 

So... Maybe somebody can help me figure this out, because I'm a bit confused - how many different feet do Iplehouse F.I.D girls have? And which ones do they have included with the doll? Is there a difference between high heal feet and heel feet?
I really like this dolls, and if I'm ordering one I'd like to get all the spare body parts at the same time, for better resin matching, but I keep on getting confused about how many feet I'll end up needing

 

The dolls come with Basic flat and heel feet. If you want the High Heel feet, they are extra, as are the feet with no toes that fit inside their resin shoes.

 

@Sshodan mblilac is correct. You can go look at the parts section to see pictures of all the different feet and resin shoes.

I did think that heel feet and high heel feet where different, but the description on the page confused me - it says that the heeled feet come with the doll on BOTH extra part descriptions and the support staff essentially just quoted that description at me yet again when I asked...
@rianne Doing exactly that is what got me confused I remember that in the past they sad you had to buy high heel feet separately to use fabric shoes they have in store, and right now it is not mentioned on the page any longer and both heel and high heel shoes have "included with the doll" in their description, so I had to check if they changed something or just messed up the description section

 

@Sshodan - Is this the text that is confusing you? Default heel feet part is included in all female dolls, so please order them only when you need an extra heel feet part. What they're saying is the female dolls come with regular height heel feet. You should order the extra high heel feet only when you need them, i.e., for shoes with stiletto heels. The style that meets this criterion is: IHS_FW001 which comes in beige, pink, black, and red.

The heel feet without toes are a whole other story. There are three different heights--regular high heel (FWR04), higher heel (FWR02), and extremely high heel (FWR01)--which go with specific resin shoes, so you have to make sure you get the right height for the shoe you are buying. Some resin shoes include the appropriate feet, some don't.

I'm turning him into a miniature rendition of Arthur Morgan from Red Dead Redemption 2.
The Our Generation horse looks just like one I used for a while in game, I couldnt resist when I saw her at Target!

 

Cool! I've got an OG horse for my Bichun. The scale is a little off but serviceable, and I need to paint it after stripping it back. I was using the excuse of not having the doll, or being quite set on his character, but now? It's just procrastination.

I'm not overly familiar with RDR2, but Arvid looks a good base for a mini Arthur Morgan. I look forward to seeing his final look.

@PumpkinKings I got Blueberry Style on etsy faux fur wig as a place holder, because really, the best look that I can tell is a hard cap wig. I need to get around to making one, as I can't afford to buy one

 

@IngieBee Thank you, the head was a key chain pendant I found on ebay, and the body is from a small Simba Evi doll I already had. If you look for cute pompom key chain baby on ebay, you'll find them.

I've finally had time to make a complete outfit for Raphael, my FID Dane! Here he is in his knight outfit:


He's riding an Our Generation horse (that I got for $16 on ebay, bargain!!!), and the sword was a Lord Of The Rings collectable from ages ago - I made the scabbard, belt and outfit though. I'm so pleased he's finally dressed and not just sitting naked amongst all my Raccoondoll ladies!

 

@morganatron Your Dane looks amazing and I love the outfit!

Thank you all!!! And surprisingly, that's the standard Dane FID face-up vermont chick - it looks different on him for some reason, doesn't it? I really like it though, so whatever they did differently, I'm pleased!

@morganatron - I wasn't sure Iplehouse would adjust the faceup to the resin color or I would have ordered Dane instead of Baron. When they show a faceup on a dark doll, I can't picture it on a lighter resin. They did a great job here. (Looks like he goes back on my want list.) The outfit looks really good, too.

Yeah, it was a bit of a gamble, but it turned out so nice! He's on Special Real skin, if that helps - I feel like he photographs lighter than he is, for some reason. But I wish they would show the default face-ups on different skin shades, it's so hard to know how it will turn out.

 

Well, my first iplehouse has just arrived, much earlier than I expected him... so he's going to be bald and naked for a while, but I'm so thrilled with him-- and I appreciate being able to backread through all the FID threads for tips on where to shop for him!

 

Oh, that cardigan looks so good on her! Her whole look has me very heart eyes.

He does photograph lighter. Looking at the photo I was sure he was normal skin. I, too, wish they would show the faceups on different skin colors. When you pay so much for a faceup, the last thing you want to do is gamble on the result.

 

@morganatron - Love your Dane. He does look lighter...but RS does that when photographed outside, I've noticed. His faceup looks really nice.

Dane is high on my list too - none of their guys fits my character, which has a more rectangular face, but he seems to be closest.

 

And while we are comparing the FID Dane default face up on different resin colors.............here it is on Ebony resin. I wasn't enamoured of the SID Dane, but LOVE the FID versions of him and would love too have another in a different resin color eventually.

I'm going to see what I can rig up for him for modesty and do a photoshoot when I'm done working, and I am excited-- not only will it be my first non-box opening photoshoot with him, it'll be my first proper photoshoot with the gorgeous velvet settee I got for my birthday last year, setting up a little space and digging out some props...
