@MB Lilac Fantastic work. And you are right, they do have a mind of her own. But the two of them make a great couple.

@IngieBee If I remember correctly, the chainmail is the left side of some sort of mesh, but I forgot, so I would be glad if Martha would tell us again.

 

@IngieBee - I ordered the chainmail from a source in China. It's stainless steel with 3.8 mm rings. Soft Stainless Steel Anti Cut Chainmail Screen - Buy Chainmail Screen,Anti Cut Chainmail Screen,Soft Stainless Steel Anti Cut Chainmail Screen Product on Alibaba.com. I ordered two square foot samples, and it was sent by DHL, so arrived really fast. The chainmail itself isn't expensive, but the shipping and DHL taxes and handling charges sure were.

Yes, it's the perfect size for our dolls, and sure beats making it ourselves. I tried once and it took an entire week to make just one square inch. It ended up on a tiny art doll. Then ten years ago one of my sons gave me a stainless steel butcher's glove, with those same small rings, which I'd been using parts of for various costumes over the years - like using two fingers at a time for sleeves - and I finally used it up, but it sure is a lot easier starting with something flat.

Plus my FIDs definitely needed some larger pieces. I just fake a chainmail tunic, by sewing the chainmail over an under sleeve, and coming out the bottom of their over-tunic. It keeps the bulk down, and makes the chainmail go further.

I was looking at a few of the pieces I'd made for the old B-line minifee (now relocated) -
and found that the clothing does not fit the new A-line minifee. So I decided to try a few
of the pieces out on my FID Mari - and a wonderful surprise - the heirloom chemises
that I'd made for the B-line fit Mari beautifully!!

Here is my FID Mari (peach, paint B) trying out one of the heirloom chemises:

Has anyone ever had issues with Iplehouse shoes not fitting the muscle body? I bought these sneakers and they will not fit over the muscle feet. They get wedged partway because there’s not enough width or length. Would Iple refund if I send photos showing the issue?

I don't know about their sneakers, but I have two pairs of their black dress shoes, and they are extremely difficult to get on both the Model and Muscle feet. And as hard as they are to get on, they are even worse to get off.

 

Autumnfallen, wow, that's bad news! I'd think Iple should indeed refund you as those are in their New FID Shoes promo pic aren't they, and those sneakers are not cheap! They're definitely listed as for FID Male, but they haven't shown a photo of an FID guy wearing them, or given any measurements. It says in the info under Shipping/Exchange/Refund that they will accept return or exchange if there is a problem with the product, but that you need to contact them within 5 days of receiving it. So send them the photos you mention.

Yes, @sisen I put those tiny hair bands on her wrists for “just in case” as several of
my friends have said those wrist crescents just “want” to fall out of the FID and they’re
so teeny as to be miserable to find! With the terrible shipping costs at Iple these days,
I don’t want an EMS order just to get a few wrist crescents...

@IngieBee - Thanks. I'd post more but only two of my couples are both FIDs. The other three are paired with dolls from other companies, so I try limit those.
@oriscany - Thank you. I like Omar too, but I don't think he's available as an FID yet. I wish Iplehouse would offer his special older Carved Heritage faceup, since I'd love an older character.
@sisen - Thank you. Taking photos (and costuming) is what this hobby is all about for me.

 

Well, I do go to your website to look as well Also, it's on topic as long as one doll is of the right type, and personally that allows me to see how dolls match up, for more choices, though I really want Elle and Bichun so badly! But can't at the moment

Interesting resolution to the issue after I contacted them -- they told me the shoes are actually for JID boys and refunded me. They've since changed the item code and product description on the website (originally IHS_FM10, now IHS_SB29).

 

Autumnfallen, That's excellent news... apart from your guy still doesn't have his new sneakers of course . I hope you can find some different ones for him Thanks for the update, that's interesting to know! It would be really helpful if they put measurements of all their shoes anyway, wouldn't it.

I think they make quite a nice family! I do think I need to sand down the Myou's chest though so she actually looks like a child - this is the smallest bust size available. And one more all in a row:

Nearly abandoned all my plans for FID Dean... does not hurt at all that the outfit is so gorgeous-- not that it suits any of my plans, but boy...

 

@petiteballerine @IngieBee Also love red hair! But I think I'm going to save it for Luna or Aliyah. I've seen pics of both in red hair that just took my breath away.

I think we've decided on a color! Cream white! Now I need to make some jeans for my kid. And it looks like I'm going to be picking out a tattoo. The hair is almost helping me create a character for this doll, if that makes any sense?

I copy/paste a medium sized image. (image info) in flickr. 600-800 in size. maybe your pic was too big?

 

Are you using the BB code that you get from the sharing arrow thingy? Make sure you choose a size that is rather small I think. I think it has to be less than 800 or 600 pixels just dump that code in the field where you're writing, nothing else and it should appear.

But don't forget, as it's easy to screw up I know, but we're in the Iplehouse fid thread and you don't want to post those pictures in here they'll get deleted unless they're accompanied by the rest of the family by the way I've been thinking about getting a Mary and Sarah and the last one forgot her name, they are so beautiful and then granado oh my gosh I'm about to start another size!!!

 

Sorry, could you clarify? I plan to purchase only FID-sized Iplehouse dolls - so I'd only get the FID-sized Aliyah and Luna.

 

Oh just talking about mari on her own. I personally don't mind whatsoever but sometimes when the mods come through and scold you, it can hurt. Maybe I'm too sensitive, LOL. I just don't want you getting a grumpy note They are particular to their rules. I think they want things organized, that's all. We all get yelled at eventually, LOL, just don't worry if it happens and please don't feel unwelcome if it should, it takes time to get to know all the rules, even if you read through them all :P (at least for my brain, which is made of a large aggregate sieve LOL)

Loving your plans for Luna and Aaliyah too. Looking forward to seeing them! By the way, your links to flickr work just fine. I know what you mean, I have trouble posting pics here sometimes myself. I do it a really convoluted way by pasting the Flickr BB code for Medium picture size link into Word, then copying just the long part in the middle that includes .JPG at the end (you can test it before putting it on here by pasting it into another new window tab; If your picture comes up ok, it will work in here). My photos seem to show ok here doing that. I can't get the entire BB code thing to work for some reason. Keep taking your great photos of Mari!!!

 

I can’t get the BB codes on my iPad but can on my laptop. So I always upload photos to my Flickr on my iPad, then go post from my laptop. Convoluted so I don’t post as many photos as I do on IG. Actually lately I’ve been copying and pasting links from IG instead.
