    3. derilan85 well sayed about the head proportions. I had Rexy and her proportions were so off. Yes i photographed her like leaned backwards but this is what she looks like in real life if you take a frontal look at her
      And no- even with a wig on i could not have unseen it.
      I put a Minifees head on that body and that looked really great

      here the bitter truth about Rexy- at least in my eyes
      it looked like: lets take her face and squeeze it into an egg

    5. I think Rexy is a particularly anime looking sculpt in comparison with Iplehouse's mostly realistic looking faces.

      I don't find any of the sculpts I have to be too small for the FID bodies and when this discussion comes up I wonder if it's because some are used to the style of a more traditional MSD look rather than a fashion doll, which is what Iplehouse FID line is supposed to be.

      I'd be really disappointed if Iplehouse made the heads larger....I think that is what the JID line is for. That more traditional MSD looking doll. The proportions of the FID dolls look beautifully scaled. I'm curious to see Bibiane now :)

    6. Is her head smaller than a 5/6 head size @Ban Sidhe ? It looks good to me. I've never noticed any of my FID's having heads that I think are too small.
      I agree a bit with Lyanne, I don't want to see Iple start making the heads bigger like the JID's. I like that the FID's are scaled more like fashion dolls, that is what is appealing about them to me.

    7. Yah, I think the anime look of Rexy might be the cause of the feeling her head is too small. but I do agree that Rexy's head is on the smaller side. I don't agree that it's out of range of normal human beings, though the long neck exaggerates the problem. I don't think I would find Rexy's head size a problem, though I'd definitely put her on the smallest, thinnest body.

      Iplehouse does have lovely realistic proportions, until you look at the length of the legs, LOL. They're more like what you'd see drawn on clothing pattern illustrations :) But I'm not complaining! LOL :D

      And I totally forgot to tell you I'm drooling over your doll and her outfit, I love the jacket, so cool!

    8. I don't want them to make LARGER heads either and I totally understand they are fashion dolls, but the head is not realistically in proportion to the body. I will take a photo of her for everyone to see. As I said - the wig and clothes save her for me, I'm not as upset now as I was when I first opened her, but I'm with greeneyed-soul some of the sculpts are not properly to scale.
      PS: I should be done with her faceup tomorrow so I can show everyone :D

    9. Yah, I gave an opinion when I don't even own her, I don't want to be contrary, as I think you all have a point. I can see the head looks a bit small. I'm a person who likes differences. I can't figure out which FID girl I want to buy next mostly because the sculpts are all too similar and I want more realistic variety. All I know is that I will want Bichun with a girl, which girl, I keep flip flopping on and that's because they're all very similar, perfect faces, LOL. strange gripe to have!

      Has anyone ever put Rexy on a JID body? I wonder how that would look? I would love to have a shorter character that fit in with the FIDs :)

    10. IngieBee Rexy on the Jid body would be even worse as the arms are thicker which makes it look even more odd

      once i put Fid Maris head on the jid body and to me it looked ...ehm... funny?
      and yeah Leona is "i am giraffe-neck" *G

      To me the aethletic Fid body is kind of too much of everything. Lately i bought HID Aileen and she gave me the same feeling

      To me, the slim body is perfect. This gives me a vibe of the Eid or SID which is perfect to me. I got Nancy on the SID body and this is great as well

      So yeah- everyone got a different taste but for me is clear: if fid, then slim body. I tried Stella, Mari and Bliss on the aethletic body and Bliss was the worst. And Rexy.... I was stupid. I wanted her for such a long time. Then bought her on the ynid after i was concidering Cordelia. To me they look very similar. Then after I finally bought Rexy on the nyid, Iplehouse released her as "shrunken version on the curvy body" and I sold my big girl to get her in fashion size.... big big disappointment. On instagram someone got her on the minifeebody and to me this looks fine.

    11. I must be crazy because i think that Mari on the right looks perfect!! But I agree that Leona does not look good there! But I do notice that I like certain things and one of them is shorter thicker necks so Mary would look better to me on the jid body.

      That really is a bummer that you thought you were downsizing and ended up with something completely unacceptable.

    12. Well.. she lives in the US now and turned out to be Hermoine from Harry Potter. The new owner is happy. I was not. So its fine.
      I hope i can pick up my Bibiane from the custom office soon as I already payed the custom fee online. They are closed due to corona and you have to get an appointment to be able to pick it up

      Meanwhile- Emma is cuddling with Yeti. My selfmade husky. Wel... it was the first try doing a poseable art doll. Hope this is not against the rules to post him here.

    13. Rexy is probably one of my favorite sculpts....I don't own one, but her face is very appealing to me. Maybe one day I'll buy one just to find her a different hybrid body, but that's outside of my plans for now.

      I'm excited to see how Bibane is looking thou!

    14. skyealloway there is one on the minifeebody on instagram beside a fid mari. So it´s a nice comparison but to me they really did a bad job ok shrinking down Rexy to fid size. She was the first Iple sculpt i fell in love with in 2013 when I started the hobby but the fid is like "let´s take an egg and squeeze her face into it"

      the shape of the head is totally different and fid has an egg-chin and not the same shape as the ynid

    20. They are just 8mm glass ovals - not sure if I got them off ET or EB... sorry, they are 6-7 years old.

      Thank you everyone - so happy to finally have this gal the way I want her. I remember when SID Bibiane came out and I agonized about her 'cause I knew she was the perfect sculpt, but I just don't like the larger dolls. And then I had to wait a year before Iple FINALLY released her in this size - good things and all ;)

    35. I received my Bibiane yesterday but I see there are differences compared to the one in my profilepic. It stands out that her nose is bigger and she looks sleepier- did anyone notice?

      sorry for the baldie-pic. Her face up is face up c of the eid version + freckles of the fid

    37. So pretty @greeneyed-soul , I also have freckles on my Aurora, but they're very hard to photograph unfortunately. I think your Bibiane is beautiful. But it does look like the painted the lips slightly more curved outwards which makes the mouth have a more downward shape. A scooped lip side would make them look happier. But I kind of like the moodier look :) It's an incredibly slight difference. The nose seems correct to me, the first bald picture is a little warped from being too close to the subject. It's best to use a zoom lens so the features don't get distorted :)

    38. IngieBee I don´t like too serious and sad dolls. But yeah- somehow its the lips. But the nose is defo bigger- someone in facebook posted pics of her before mine arrived and that was the first thing that stood out to me. Maybe my expectations were too high as she is special to me.
      I like my Mari better. She is sweet and innocent and Bibiane is somewhat so different to my big gal. Gonna take a pic later side by side

    39. @greeneyed-soul - I don't believe the FID Bibi has a different sized nose. I think your first photo makes it look larger because of the lens you are using and the distance you are from the subject.

      Here are my Bibi girls...including the FID version and I don't believe there is a noticeable difference.:) The FID chin/jaw line may by a tad rounder though...

    40. luluna a good friend was visiting me totay and i showed her big and small Bibiane side by side and her first comment was "hm.... the small girl got a broader nose". Maybe its cause my big girl is special real skin and the fid is normal skin. She is not a bjd-hobbyist but despite of that we talk about dolls and i showed her. So she also saw it. I just wondered about it as I also thought maybe it´s the different skintone.
      Another friend of mine had nyid Vera and bought the Fid Vera and she also told, that the nose of Fid Vera is bigger compared to the nyid versions nose

    41. Oh, he's a Jude - I saw your post on FB and thought that was his name LOL you can ignore my question there ;)
      But please tell me what you think of the doll - DM me if not allowed on this thread. I can't find a guy to fit my male character yet and Jude intrigues me.


      I did think her nose looked 'big' in person too - I sanded mine down a little, but she looked better after the faceup. I DEF think the lighter resin will make your FID's nose pop more than the RS. Maybe you could add blushing to the sides to mask the thickness?
      She is lovely though, just different from your other gal.
      And yeah, I thought the eyes were too tiny for my character so I widened them. She's supposed to have a sad/serious face, but she looked too old with the smaller eyes. She's 23 and I wanted some 'innocence' still.

    42. Ban Sidhe yeah that´s what I thought too. She looks older than the big one. And modding eyes and nose- think you did a great job on her. But for me- maybe am gonna get a "younger and happier sculpt one day". It´s not that she was not pretty or so- it was just not working for me. What I had in mind. I have a fid Mari and a Raccoondoll Nana and I wanted them to be a trio but as Bibiane is so serious she kind of looked like their "watchdog".

      I wanted them to be like a cool trio with 3 girls about the same age. So Bibiane (like mine is) did not really work for that plan. When I bought my fid Mari, she gabe me an "Emma"-vibe of h20-just add water. This is why i called her Emma. My Raccoondoll Nana is like Ricky: smart and sassy. Of course not in her look but she gives me a smart and sassy vibe. Maybe am gonna get Vanessa as a fid cause once Iple had an auction Sid and she had the vibe of Phoebe Tonkin to me. Lately i did mock ups on Yur and I think that could work as well. I know- it´s teenie-stuff but i love mermaids so I love this series too. Something innocent and sweet in a strange world like nowadays.
      As a I sayed "a trio like them"- of another girls trio that are good friends. The h2o-girls were just a good example to explain, what I had in mind. And as Mari is real skin and Nana is sweet mocca I wished to have a normal skin with them to have more variaty.

    43. @luluna ah what a wonderful picture set of so many bibanes! I gotta say, even though they are all the same face, the lips on the small one seem more downturn to me. Could be just the face up too. All beautiful :)

      @Ban Sidhe your Bibane is so cute! Definitely fits a 23 yo look.

      seems like the hole in the mouth to show she got teeth is bigger than on the eid - on mine it looks like that in reality, too.

    45. I personally believe that it’s mostly because of the faceup, usually faceup will made more details if the head is bigger (1/3 scale) compare to fashion size dolls. But after seeing a few fid bibiane owner pic, I’m also very curious and wanted to ask Iplehouse if FID bibiane’s mold might have some slightly modifications.

      @Ban Sidhe your bibiane is very beautiful! Nice work done on her :chibi

    46. Khlovera to me it was the same as with Rexy- totally different. So... i waited so long for Fid Bibiane to get released. They wished to release her in the winterevent 2019 but it took one year longer. I got to admit i was disappointed. She did not work for me and for what I had in mind. I think my Bibiane (which i put on the Sid-body) looks softer. This is what I love on her. And about the Fid- i did not feel it and did not want to invest in a face up artist that can mod her nose smaller. So i sold her.

      I think am gonna get a younger and friendlier sculpt if I wish to complete my trio.

    47. @greeneyed-soul i can imagine the disappointment you had, especially after this long waiting...I’m in the same situation of my fid edan which I made a custom faceup order but...ah thinking of selling my edan le trade him for another fid that might fit better the character I have in mind :nosebleed btw, did you asked Iple about Bibiane’s mold? We may get a better answer from them.

    48. Khlovera i complained about Rexy when i received her that they squeezed her face into an egg. On Bibiane I did not (yet) cause.. I did not lose a lot and am happy she found a lovely new home. So maybe its my personal issue that she turned out too serious. But something is funny- a friend has the same issue. Dolls we love in their big size are trickier as a fid for us and on sculpts we never concider to get in the big size, we like the FID version more. For example I like fid Raffine than the EID-version.

    49. @greeneyed-soul so sorry she didn't work out for you :( I know what it's like to fall for the 'idea' of a doll only to be disappointed when they arrive. I think the thing with making smaller versions of dolls we already love is: they will never match up - even the slightest modification, will ruin expectations. If I hadn't been able to mod the eyes, I'm not sure I'd have been happy with the sculpt either. The bigger girl DEF has a softer look than the FID version.

      Well- comes time comes doll. At present am eyeing Yur and putting mock ups on her. So maybe it´s her (some day). Am happy that you were able to make her work for you cause i remember that in the beginning you were not that happy but am glad you are now :D

    51. This is why I've never ordered an FID Carina. I have her as an EID, and she's gorgeous, but I know the person who painted her doesn't do tiny realistic faces as well, and the Iple faceups do nothing for me. I know I'd want her to be a smaller version of my big girl, and that's just not going to happen. Thankfully I only have two of the big ladies, so it's not all that restrictive, with no preconceived expectations for any I do order.
