Iplehouse Discussion ( YID, nYID, SID, EID ) Part III

Oct 19, 2014

    1. Yeah my lashes are naturally blonde and long as well except they are stick straight and no amount of curling mascara or wands will do the trick. I envy Ember's and Lacie's eyelashes so much, and now Balam's too lol
And thank you, I'm glad Rosalie is here. I feel like it was meant to be, she is certainly being spoiled and getting all the love she's missed out on in the past few years she spent in a storage bin.

Also Balam is making me want a Leo or at least an EID guy oh nooo. I have a few on my list but, Trevor is NOT allowed to come home next and I don't have money. I just want a big dude I can cover in tattoos, those strongman arms leave so much space to draw all over lol

    2. Law is keeping Lottie waiting as usual... They're not gonna make it on time for the party. Law takes longer to get ready than she does :XD:

      [IMG]Waiting... by LovesBloom, on Flickr

This was taken a few nights ago after I had celebrated my birthday last Thursday. Unfortunately I didn't have time to take shots on my actual birthday, but I had wanted some of them ready to party so made time for these pics.

Before taking this, Lottie was lying naked on my bed waiting to be dressed, when my mum passed my door and stopped to stare at her. I hadn't realised my dad was also coming up behind her until she said "Just look at those boobs on her. They're huge. And she chose to buy them that size you know." (Sounds like she's talking about me getting a boob job :XD:)

His winning reply? Without stopping to think... "Well she'll fit in around here. All the women in this family are huge up top." Thanks for that dad...

:| Well if they did them smaller on EID's I wouldn't have ordered Lottie's to be quite so big. Anyway, this prompted me not to leave Lottie nude for much longer than necessary, so she has been dressed and ready for a while now. Law on the other hand has yet to figure out what he is wearing... Boys!

    3. Aw she looks really good! I like her name, Lottie is pretty! :)

    4. Thank you  I had wanted a way to shorten Scarlet like Law and Leo are but it's hard to shorten an already short name. And then I remembered a girl I knew once who was nicknamed Lottie by her family and it kind of stuck when I was thinking of names for her. It's sweet and pretty, but not too soft and girly for when she's being tough on her subordinates ;)

I thought, her short wig would look good on her with this dress. It certainly fits her better than her default blonde one, but I've gotten used to the blonde now for her character, so this is for special occasions/photo shoots :)

    5. Yeah Lacie switches between two wigs too. She normally wears her long strawberry blonde one but for photostories and special pictures she gets a short black bob just like her character in the books.

Pic from a shoot we did a while back. I want to put her back in that costume soon because I have some photostories to work on now that Josh has his glasses but of course the weather has to rain constantly.[IMG]

    6. This is of extreme importance because it involves AUTOMATIC PAYMENTS comng off your PayPal account!!

      [TD]Hello, this is Iplehouse.

Today we want to inform you about layaway payment policy change.

As many of you may know, we have experienced serious delay in the last spring. And to avoid any more delay in the future, we have reformed our company overall. As a result, we succeeded in reducing production time to 30-45 days.

Since we offer maximum 90 day payment period for layaway orders, a lot of layaway dolls are stocked on the storage waiting to be shipped. Currently we send Paypal request when the doll is finished and ready to be shipped but this is causing problems. Some of customers worry that they have to pay the balance immediately even though due date is left. Also it is hard to check all the layaway orders manually and check if we received payments so some of the orders passes due date.

To resolve these kind of problems, we decided to use Paypal’s automatic billing system instead. When we apply this system to our site, payments will be withdrawn from your account automatically 30 days after the order date so you don’t have to manually send payment to us.

For instance, if you have bought an item ($900) from us on March 1st, and choose layaway and divide payment in three times, first payment ($300) will be withdrawn from your account when you make the order. And second payment ($300) will be automatically withdrawn from your Paypal account on April 1st and third payment ($300) on May 1st.

You can check more details like Merchant, Description of the product, starting date, expiring date, last billed amount and etc. on Paypal site. You can check it on Profile>My Money>My preapproved payments. Also you can check it with your credit card company too if credit card is linked to your Paypal.

After long consideration, we decided that Paypal’s automatic billing system will be useful for both us and to our customers. We are planning to apply this program around mid. April and if you have any idea or suggestion regarding this change, please leave a message on Q&A board.

      Thank you for your time.

    7. I don't mind the change too much. I'm hoping this will take the load off of them enough to consider layaway for other things like CDS. Or, I would love to put a big order of period clothes on layaway.

    8. I had my Zera on layaway with them while I have been out of work recovering from my December back surgery and I was lucky to sell some dolls and have a nice tax return to pay my bills and my doll off, but they were almost like a bookie sending me invoices before the layaway payment was due. Glad I don't want anymore dolls from them at the moment.....( still dreaming of Bane CDS)

    9. [IMG]

      Jin says hello. ;)

    10. I like Jin's oh-so-blue side eye :D

    11. Okay I know I just posted a picture but I had to this one share because there's a little story to go along with it (even though this photo is about a week old and I didn't get the actual pic). So I had some friends over yesterday, one of them just got home from college, the other leaves tomorrow to go back, and the other two aren't in college yet. So all of my friends are very chill about my dolls, my best friend actually is really into it and she's played with them several times when over, her current fave is Josh; but anyway one of the guys in my group is kinda freaked out by it. He won't make a big deal but he doesn't like being around them due to a slight doll phobia so whenever he's over I make sure to put them away. Well we had been out most of the day and weren't planning on coming back to my house but my house is like the one everyone feels the need to gather at. So we come back and we're all gonna go to my room but we were gathering snacks, my friend "B" (doll phobia guy) goes down the hall to my room and all of the sudden we hear this blood curdling shriek so we run down to check on him and that's when I find my dolls all kind of like this on my bed except Josh and Lacie were propped up against a pillow and Rosalie had on a pink dress, phone was dead didn't get a pic but it was pretty much like this. [IMG]

I forgot to put them away that morning when my best friend came over and before we left she wanted to get them out and play as she was the one who's leaving. I felt so bad but couldn't stop laughing either because my friend "B" is a 6'2" college sophomore and he screamed higher than me. Apparently he didn't get a chance to turn on the light so all he saw was the dolls laying there with Lacie and Josh staring at him in a barely lit room. He waited in the hall until I had them all in their boxes and didn't want to be left alone in my room after that lol

    12. He likes it, too. He thinks it's his thing or something.

I don't really mind the change in layaway policy, either. It will help us customers be more mindful of our deadline dates, and will, as everyone hopes, keep the carousel spinning! Personally, I have gotten so spoiled by Iple's shorter wait times.

    13. I really, really hope Iplehouse will decide to offer Doll Choice layaway! The idea of doing layaway through a third party makes me rather uneasy.

    14. I doubt this new layaway system will ever offer layaway on Doll Choice. There is way too much risk with that. The only time I ever see them offering layaway on Doll Choice is maybe to customers that have spent more money with them like 'Gold or Platinum' members. I know other companies rank their members like Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum. I've seen Iplehouse do it sometimes but I don't see a rank now. So I could see it if they said... Okay well you've spent $5000 with us this year so we are offering this to you. That's the only way I see it coming around.

    15. how does this 3rd party thing work? I've not seen or heard of it... the closest I can figure is like my Visa... PIF with Visa and then pay off visa in installments. I think of the interest as my punishment for sucking at 'putting money aside' lol.

Okay I know about the member levels but I don't ever recall seeing on the site in general... just when the membership award announcements come out... where is it ... or 'was' it?

    16. I just saw it around Christmas time when they had their membership rewards. Next to my name in parenthesis (where it currently says Member) it said Platinum. Which depressed me slightly that I had spent so much

    17. Ah, that makes me sad. This will be my first huge order (clocking in at just shy of $1k), and knowing I won't be able to manage it in payments makes me feel...hm...irresponsible, I guess? Looks like I'll be saving up a bit.

    18. Here's the info on membership levels. It's from Iple's Support - Notice section.

I resisted the temptation to correct the typo on the first Membership Level ("pervious" = "previous").

    19. lol right... now I remember... I hit platinum once ><... and was pizzed I couldn't use the 'full coupon value' just because they split it up... and wouldn't allow ppl to apply both.... really not actually fair especially since my next order could not be split up to be able to use both... and I wouldn't have thought to look in 'notices' lol... it should be popping up soon again at any rate since the 'coupons' will be coming out in April... no biggie for me... 5 whole bucks ><. Splits have seriously eaten into my 'rewards/benefits' this year LOL

ya well technically YOU didn't spend that much.... you ran splits... which gives you credit for other ppls purchases ;p

    20. Yeah their reward system is BS. Leeke sent me a 20% off my entire order coupon that's good until October for being a VIP customer. Granted I probably have bought a small car worth of wigs from them but hey! I'm using that come Fall Season colors. Gotta have em all!

I know they are a small company but even Angell Studio is a small company and sometimes they have better rewards and events/sales than some of the bigger companies. So I don't see that as the reason.

Haha.... that's true! I made a killing off of Lawrence. But I did buy Jude who was DC so that was like... $1300 or so and I bought Harace .... and Lawrence.... I think those were the only ones that counted. Now my membership level for this quarter... whooo boy. It would be like... Starlight. Bambi, JID I, Leo, Law, Vera, plus accessories. Too bad we didn't get any coupons for that >_< I'd calculate how much those orders were but.... damn.... I'm afraid.... :shudder

    21. I serously thing your 'wig habit' is rubbing off on me... I bought 3 or 4 last doll meet (off members)... I need time to get Peach/Abby into the green outfit so she can put on her cute mint green wig (but I want a skirt for her ;p)

And don't forget it's not just points but sale credits that count even if it is LA.... You only lose points for LA... not actual sale credit for the coupons... So in that case you get 100% of the value of the splits ;p... If I ever get up the nerve to run them I can afford to not worry about pennies for parts/shipping since I'll always PIF the actual order since it goes on my card anyhow...

    22. Wigs are a nasty habit. It's going to be hard to kick that one. ;) I'm still looking on other sites for pretty updo's for colors to match Sepia and *crosses fingers* hopefully Choco Brown from Leeke. They look really similar to me but the only Sepia wig I have is the bun wig so I can't get a feel for it's.... Fluidity? Movement? What the color looks like when the fibers are moving in light.
My other addiction is eyelashes. I love eyelashes. Finding perfect eyelashes is like finding perfect eyes for me. I have a drawer dedicated to just eyelashes

    23. With only Iple dolls to go by for lashes... I like what mine have (especislly Bliss, I, and Peach which are nearly if not actually the same). I was sent a 6 inch strip of lashes by IH when B's came off and I thought I lost them... found them 'in' a wig lol. I just need someone to apply them since I have such trouble seeing. Do you have to take eyes out to apply lashes? or is it "just a good idea".
Eventually I want to find someplace to buy one of those light + magnifier things esthetician use. I won't order one in cuz I don't know if it will be useful with my eyes so I need to find someplace to actually 'try' it.

Do you mean the braided updo by IH? Lu's darker one (brown not sepia) shine lovely in light... the saddle brown is a bit more dull but I need to get it out in sunlight to really see.

I want Leeke's LM-034_E in a few shades but especially Ash blonde and a brown shade or two. And LM-032_E in blonde's that match the other wig lol and more browns... I have the later one in lt. brown but in a 7-8... I need it in 8-9's too... If you have any ideas of what might best come closest to saddle brown I'd love a clue ^^
I swear I'd kill for those wigs in normal fibers though>< nice and smooth. :sigh I'm temped to send my wrecked wig to a wig maker somewhere stateside and say ... make this in normal stuff? and see what it would cost...

    24. Anora's eyelashes fell out for seemingly no reason recently, and I turned my desk lamp over to get a good view of her eye sockets. I took the eyes out, put a dab of white glue that dries clearon a piece of paper, and dipped a sequin pin (you could use a toothpick too, the sequin pin was just handy!) in it, then spread it around the lash area in a few batches and positioned the lash with a couple of the pins. I let her head minus eyes dry overnight on my desk. Worked fine! But if you have trouble seeing I imagine one of those light + magnifier things would be SUPER handy. My eyesight is pretty bad, but I'm nearsighted--so small tasks up close aren't too much of an issue, it's just driving and in the lab that I need my super powerful glasses. :P

    25. if it was just strength it would be fine... but I have Keratoconus and I have the 'multiple images' thing pretty bad lol and really I only have 'usable' vision in one eye.... so glue + dolls face = nope!... not unless I find one of those things and it 'helps' lol. otherwise no way in Hades! Oh and I shake lol Oh do you mean like that Elmer's glue for school kids?

    26. Aw, that sucks! Maybe the magnifier will help, or maybe you can bug someone else to do it for ya. It doesn't take long, even a non-doll person will probably do in a pinch. And yeah--I bought mine from Leekeworld when I first joined the hobby because I didn't know any better, but their eyelash glue is just regular white glue, like Elmer's, as far as I can tell. It behaves EXACTLY like the Elmer's I have.

    27. lol my Dad is not allowed to touch my dolls lol ... I'll bribe someone in the club some day... But hey I did good anyhow... I did my first actual photo story! (KID Peach/Abby) got the honors. and it's still only in my flickr.... 14 pics so don't feel up to 'posting it' but the chatter is in the 'descriptions' so I won't forget it lol...

    28. Yes, you have to take the eyes out because you can get glue on them. Elmer's glue is what everyone uses and a lot of people do what sidroq did: put some glue on plate/paper, then with a toothpick apply it under the lash line, wait a minute (for it to get tacky), then stick the eyelashes on and use a toothpick to "shape/bend" them to the eye socket.

      I SUCK AT IT

For someone who owns a good... 20 pairs of eyelashes... (and is looking to buy more from For My Doll GO) I suck at putting them on. It's probably because I'm impatient and don't wait for the glue to get tacky. But I always seem to get one on without problems and then the second eye I spend like... 20 minutes on. I also have a problem with the angle. One eyelash looks perfect and the other is too low or too high because it's sitting too far forward or back in the eyesocket. Again.... my impatience.

I don't like company eyelashes... because you can't see them in photographs. And trust me. The eyelashes they use for their promo pictures are NOT the same eyelashes. Unless they've photoshopped them. What I'm trying to figure out is how to "double up" on some of the shorter eyelashes to make them more thick but not have two "sticky bands" on top of one another. That cuts into my eye well and let's face it. I paid $55 for those Dollbakery eyes, I want to show off every last bit of them! I will let you know where my findings take me.

Yes that's the one. Leeke's Choco Brown is VERY close to Sepia. Sepia has a slight more... green tone to it. I'll take a picture (people are going to start freaking out "it's not green!") Anyway... I'm hoping that no one notices enough to say... hmm she has different hair color today. But I'm trying to find... Regency/Victorian hair in that same color. I am NOT a fan of mohair. I have a Leeke mohair wig.... I've HAD Leeke mohair wigs. I took it out of the bag, screemed silently, wrapped it back up, threw it back in the bag, and yeah... selling this. I don't know how people make it look good. Can you wet it? Brush it? Is it alive? [IMG]

So that's why I stick with synthetic. I plan to get these instead :) LR-017 (very similar) W078 W060 LR-111 (very pretty bedroom look) LR-036 (I actually have this style in an unique wig form. It's gorgeous and I just love it). But I gotta wait for a good sale/event. So I can use my coupon :D

I shall have to go read your photostory! You're a step ahead of me! I need to make one...

    29. I recommend either Elmer's *Clear* school glue, or Aleene's (Aileen's?) *Clear* Tacky Glue -- the white glue dries reasonably clear, but if you have any mistakes near the eye, it tends to show up as a light-colored blotch. The clear glue is less likely to do it, which is why I've switched to the clear Aleene's for making wigcaps.

I'm awful at eyelashes, too -- I can do it (with a lot of swearing), but it takes forever and leaves me super-stressed-out. Mad props to the face-up artists who are really good at it, because I still find it a challenge even after 10 years of doll collecting.

Good luck with your wig-search, both of you!

      -- A <3

    30. I have one of those light + magnifier things. It's an Ottlite. I love the light it emits, because it simulates daylight. The magnifier--not so much. I find it hard to use. I look through the magnifying part and the size of my paint brush or watercolor pencil scares the c**p out of me. I consistently misjudge where to place my pencil and constantly have to wipe away errors. And if the bulb ever burns out I'm sunk, because I've had this thing forever and I can't find this size and shape bulb available anywhere.

    31. vermont chick do a google for the bulbs if you ever need them. I can't tell you how many weird parts I have found online, even for things from the 1950s.

    32. Quick question (I'm so sorry - I have too many of them!), but how many of you use silicone eyes from Masterpeice or Eyeco, and would you recommend ordering from them? I really like how realistic the eyes these companies make are, but I'm nervous about ordering.

    33. My resins wear Eyecos the most with Soom thrown in for giggles. I love them. :-)

    34. Photo story was fairly simple since there was no special set up other than 'in kitchen where the best light is'. Doll, box (as table), gift box, hands... Only glitch was her back-flipping off the table *cringe*, safe as she landed on her hair and the poofy dress cushioned the fall a bit too. Hard part was her holding plastic bags lol.
I swear I will get in touch with that wig company >< they mostly do stuff for 'humans' though... I also like the LR-017_M one but that is a bit young for my big girls and they get wig priority right now ;p. That would be good for a 12 yr old regency girl... I've seen a fashion plate from the period with 2 girls and that wig would work very well with that look. And really I'm not a fan of mohair either... but the styles I want I've only found in it >< oh but the IH on my Edan wears is awesome! I don't even think the wigs I have I could sell... or give away -_-... The one that isn't wrecked is a 9-10 and Dex flat out refuses it... maybe Leo ;p (it's the regency style Bliss had on but in ash blonde).
And not being able to see the company eyelashes.... try looking at Bliss's pics before and after lash loss... glaringly obvious lol... But i will go with 'no eyes' for applying lashes ... now i really want that big magnifier... If I can steady my hands I might be able to do it... I have been told I can have an obscene amount of patience with some things. But until then ... someone else can do it ;p And an FYI I totally agree about sepia having a green tint (mossy like).... Dex's wig is sepia and omg out side in greenery makes it wow obvious... if others can't see it and I can that's scary lol. And now I need to get ready for the meet soon so need to check rest of threads first ;p

wow if it magnifies like that it might just work and good to know about the lights (note to self, get spares).

I should have you look for my tea trolly and a manual for my 'pram' >< I swear google hates me...

    35. Hi everyone!!! I have been lurking for awhile and thought I would speak! I've long admired Theo and wondered if anyone has him or has seen him in 'person'. Also, a friend just did a trade with me and I now have a Lion head. Is anyone familiar with the Lion sculpt?

    36. Just to make sure you are up to date... Theo (SID man) has had his sculpt changed. He was one of 3 dolls that were 'renewed'. Theo's made after Jan. 1, 2015 are the new version. The notice from ages ago is here. (you need to log in)

The lion head if it's the Iplehouse one you mean... it this guy Tedros - Circus master from IH's first set of 'theme' dolls. He is an EID and the head will be bobbled on a SID Theo if that is what you wanted... what color resin is your lion head? The hands and feet can be found but the tail (not very lion like really) would be very hard to find.

oh and I copied this to the new thread ^^
