That puts a nYID boy in second place on my 'plans' list, so I can body swap my incoming Vera occasionally! Hmm... I guess I'd better pick a boy who also looks good as a girl...

 

I know that Eddie and Juan look good as girls! I've put Andy on Ember's body and a long wig and he looks really cute as a girl, and I know that animerockstar has her Juan on a girl body right now.

 

I just got a Vera myself, around Christmas time. Seeing as she's basically a resin MnM of Shin Min Ah, I have plans to dress her as a gumiho (9-tailed Fox) & Arang (Josean-era ghost in a hanbok...) LOL

 

artistcadelle is right! She looks great as a boy She's also right in that Eddie makes a very cute boy and girl. But I knew that the moment I saw his promo pics (when I was shopping for an nYID boy as Jude). But I was surprised (as I think a lot of people were) to find that Juan makes a really strong female. I'm sure you could paint him to be more "feminine" but he looks like he is noble, or queenly. Someone of authority or "kickass". I was pleasantly surprised. It's like having two dolls in one!

I'm confused. What doll did you received at Christmas? Vera was just available to order last week so I doubt they've even finished casting some of her, much less painting or shipping I know Iple has been fast recently...

 

Lol animerockstar when your Juan is dressed as a girl with his eyebrows he remind me of Satsuki from Kill la Kill.

Heh... but I don't like Eddie or Juan much as boys. However, I do have my eye on Patrick, with basic faceup B. I don't recall seeing much of him - must go search for owner pictures!

 

oh please do search and share some links if you find any... Patrick is my 'go to' sculpt for a more mature nYID ^^

EDIT: wow did a search on Flickr... at least 2/3 of the pics are the IH promo pics... repeated over and over ><.

 

I've just had a browse (stuck in one spot with a sleeping 13month old on me, might as well look as gorgeous dolly pictures!) and I have only found Cathy (who is morelle on here I think - https://www.flickr.com/photos/12656807@N05/tags/patrick/) and AllaReyna (https://www.flickr.com/photos/95234007@N03/tags/patrick/) on flickr. Google images, deviant art and other such sources didn't come up with any others.

I'm now thinking Patrick is severely under-appreciated and should be first on my planned list, not second!

EDIT... had to go add Patrick to my wish list lol... not sure why he wasn't there before... but if I recal... oh my a 70 slim version O_o (Body by Dollit's if resins work! omg now THAT is an idea ^^)

 

SSDF bodies work fine for YIDs and SIDs (though with some gapping). devolvedarling is a real life friend of mine, so I've seen her Patrick, Datu, in person. The Dollits hybrid would also work; the sculptor posted photos on his flickr as well.

 

Ya but would the Dollits come in RS >< I still can't bring myself to try other resin colors for my guys yet lol... As for SSDF's ... I can't get past the ridiculously long (compared to the body) legs O_o... a club mate has .... several lol... But I am leaning to PG for the nYID's slimmer younger men.... maybe... wow can you say stuck in a rut? There is only on character that 'might' be able to pull off 'NS'... if you thing Beau Brummel of the 1800's who set the trend for THE LOOK for men.... like that type of guy... technically he's one of the King's best spies but his 'real life' self is more of an air headed dandy .... which is his 'cover'. Who would think the popinjay was dangerous ;p But he is quite tall and very slim but hides a steel honed body ^^ Which is why the Dollit's appealed to me.

And Datu is awesome lol. Tell your friend to get him in front of a camera more!

 

I just noticed that Iplehouse has made the boots that came with Rex available to buy (I suppose it has already been mentioned)! This is such wonderful news to me sine I've been looking for them for a long time now

 

There are new awesome girl boots available at $70, too!

 

Really wish they'd make that camo uniform available - I've tried finding 1/3 scale camo material to no avail

Oh Zera is so pretty! I think she has such a unique face I really want to get her someday! Congratulations!

Finally! They release the Athena boots! I was wondering when those would come out! But $70.... shit.... I'm okay with paying $55... I'll have to wait to splurge on those

Yeah... I saw them and I was like YAY! Then I saw the price and went "welp.... those will have to wait til later"....

especially because I just spent almost $450 bucks on an Olympus PEN PL5 camera and a case for it..... shouldnt have but.... it was cheap for a DSLR type camera and there were only 7 left in stock on amazon.... and I wanted to be able to learn how to use it before summer so I could take lots of dolly pics ^^

kind of wish I could have spent that money on a BID Bono though..... but some how $400 on a camera doesnt seem as bad. lol

 

That was a better investment. I spent $600 on mine. It came with a whole package of stuff, tripod, SD card, extra lenses, extra flash, big case, a bunch of other stuff. And because I always have a wacky family story.... A few year ago I bought my mom our miniature Pomeranian, Isabella, for $600 (had to skip a car payment because she was having a mid-life crisis wanting a DOG. We are cat people.) Later, when I brought the camera and some pictures to show my grandma the first thing she said to me was, "You could of bought a puppy."

But I really love my camera... I have no idea how to use it. ISO and such... I really need to take a class on it. But I think my pictures come out pretty decent quality for no post-editing (because I'm too lazy). I can't wait to see your pictures!

 

400 on a camera can be used for ALL doll love... 400 on Bono is only Bono (who would need more stuff on top like cloths eyes, hair... ;p) AND is anyone else curious what the SID man laced up the front knee boots will be paired with? ^^ Do I sense a hint at a new outfit for my Edan coming? LOL.

And are the Athena boots not the same ones Luna wore with the 'tamer' set? (NC series... the one pic showing the boot is too dark for me to be able too tell... can't see the shape of the top of the boot there ><) They were used again in Lu's pics for the corset and leather pants set where he had her foot up on a 'curcus' stand thing. But those are gone >< If they are I 'need' those to comple Lu's 'mistress' outfit ^^

 

Yes!! Yes they are! I have looked and confirmed that those are indeed the same boots from the tamer set. Wow... good eye Tiku!

 

memory not eyes lol I remember the ones from the 'clothing' section and wondering 'why not the boots!'... I had seen them with NC to I 'think' in a MP sale set of pics ... sadly the boots were not on sale lol. I wanted them 'then' It was the front knee part that I wasn't sure of... I didn't think it had gone 'up' the knee... O_o... I'ma have an ugly order of not much more than boots/shoes and hair soon I thin lol. I need to get those white shoes for a JID boy I won't have for quite some time lol. Partly cuz I don't have a 'love' for any of them yet... ;p

 

The ISO is what you use for low light pictures according to some stuff I read. I guess the higher it is, the better pictures you can take in low light. I messed around with the ISO and white balance setting in my phone camera... it does make a difference. Mine came with an SD card and a lens. Not much... but I can get a tripod and stuff later when I find a good one.

But... you already bought a puppy. LOL! Did she mean another one?

True.. I think Bono with the clothes I wanted was going to cost me around $350? Maybe a little more... cant remember. But I can use my camera for all kinds of pics, not just dolly ^^ I can always get her later too so XD

I hope those boots they posted means they are gonna release Rex as basic soon.... XD I dont know why I'm in such a hurry since I wont be able to get him any time soon but... I want to see his basic makeup!

Does ayone try putting Y.I.D head on E.I.D body?

Of course I really love Y.I.D and S.I.D bodies but I love girls with long legs too. To me the E.I.D bodies look so perfect with that height, but I'm afraid that Y.I.D heads will look small with them. Can someone please give me some advices?

 

In general, it's going to look small. Most of the YID heads, so far, have been fairly small and delicate-featured, and they look a bit pin-headed on an EID body.

SID girls look great on EID bodies (and vice versa), and I've seen certain EID and SID heads look good on the nYID body . . . but most of the nYID heads are going to be a little too petite for an EID frame.

Thanks so much. I really love SID head on EID body too, because sometime I just feel SID body looks a little bit short when taking photograph, so I like EID body more.

I just realize Iple took photographs for Audrey on SID body ( Audrey is YID ), it's so beautiful, ( here is the link: http://iplehouse.com/home/shop/item.php?it_id=1589774658&nhn1=en ) so maybe I will think about choosing SID body for my first YID girl instead of EID body. I really love Bliss and Vera and really really want them to be taller ( 58.7 cm is not enough for me ), hope SID will be the best body for them.

 

Hey I have a Bliss and an SID, I could swap their heads and take pictures if you want. Also I know Jany had her Bliss on an SID body for a while and she looked great!

My Zera is all painted up now and once the sun comes up tomorrow I will take some pics of her. I really love the way she turned out, but it was my first time doing smokey eye makeup and I see some areas of improvement for the next doll I have to paint.

 

Actually *Christie*, he is a demon Claude. He just seems to be wearing part of chris/oscars outfit .

And he is looking gorgeous WooSoo. I love the dreadlocks, very nice. I've been looking at whether to get a Claude Demon someday and you're tipping the scales to yes for adding him to my wishlist with this image

 

Lol I had to check a couple of times, it was the teeth that were putting me off and the angle of his head. What gave it away for me were his horns!

Audrey is so pretty. Is her brow sculpt very angular or can it be softened in the face-up? I'm going in between Audrey and Rexy for a particular character and was curious if anyone had good pictures of profiles or 3/4 views of the faces.
