Iplehouse Discussion ( YID, nYID, SID, EID ) Part 9

Dec 31, 2017

      • x 2
    1. Hi everyone! So happy to join this thread: I recently grabbed an SID Claude through the secondhand market, and I adore him! He's my first male doll and only my second SD--my first is a Resinsoul, so there's a huge difference in the body proportions, etc. Between that and the gender, I'm struggling to find clothes for my little vampire dude, and looks like most of the threads on finding threads (heh) for SIDs are a bit outdated. In particular, I'm fussing about shoes: seems like his feets are a bit of an in-between size. Anyone have hints/tips/favorite stores?

Also, have any of you tried to do your own bodyblushing on your iple men? I did my own faceups/blushing for both my resinsoul ladies, but the details on Mr. Vampire are intimidatingly realistic and I'm a bit terrified!

    2. @lessyface hello! Congrats on your new boy. :XD: Sorry I can't help much with SID stuff since my boy is YID and he wears Iplehouse's boots.:sweat

    3. Congrats, @lessyface!

Shoe-wise I can't help - I just make those myself. (There's quite a bunch of tutorials floating around, might be worth a look. ;))

As for body blushing, yes I have. My newest guy Mike (Model SID Omar) has been blushed pretty much all over. What I've found is that the more detailed a sculpt is, the easier it is to blush - he tells you where the colour needs to go. No need to be intimidated at all, go for it and you'll see :thumbup

And on the subject of Mike, the romance on the doll shelf has progressed to the next level, it seems ...

Yur's "main story" persona is also slowly emerging - we have a name! Angelina, Lee for short. :dance Now all I need is for Heather (Rachel) to ship so each can have her proper body ...

    4. They agree ;) (This totally wasn't the plan for them. Yur was a bit of a wildcard, Omar was supposed to be paired with someone else ... well. We all know how well making plans for dolls goes if the dolls have other plans!)

Making shoes is fun. There's a super simple tutorial to get started, and there's also the Shoemaker's Circle with lots of great tips and a supportive bunch of regulars. It's a little addictive though, especially if you're ambitious, so be warned. ;)

    5. @Jany Aww, that pic is super cute! What kind of wig is that on your Mike? I got my dude (he doesn't have a name yet, can you tell?) a Leekeworld wig but I kind of hate it; I'm going to try dying it this weekend and give it a trim, see if that helps. If it doesn't, I actually went through the "Hard Wig Caps" thread and am pretty eager to try that out!

Going through that wig thread actually linked me to the shoemaker's circle a bit ago, and I've read almost the whole thread, lol. I was definitely pretty intimidated at first, but that Toms tutorial has me rethinking that--somehow I'd missed it, and it looks super doable. I've got some fabric that'd be perfect for it, and three dolls who need shoes, so I guess there's no time like the present! Especially since I'm not going to get enough of a humidity break to body blush for a while yet, looks like.

@IngieBee Thank you for the link! I had totally forgotten about Alice's Collections, I'm going to comb through that site and see what they've got!

    6. That's an awesome tutorial, I'd wear those shoes!!! Thanks, @Jany !

Cool, I hope you find something (or can make it :) ) I am waiting for shoes in an AC order myself.... It takes so long!

    7. Hey guys! Please excuse the horrible photo, I was so excited when I saw he got here! Ahhh <3 My next day off I am going to take him out to do a quick photoshoot <3 So happy <3

    8. OH man, he is gorgeous, @gaurweth! Love that outfit!

    9. He's quite handsome! I think Bichun will be my next male EID, but I'm not sure if I want to go with basic option-C, or FID Bichun's face-up. If you don't mind, may I ask which face-up you went with? I like his look as (IMO) it is not too dramatic, which is what I usually try to achieve with my dolls. I'd love to see more pics, when you get around to it!

    10. @IngieBee Thank you! I was so excited when I saw him available in the marketplace with his full outfit. <3

@Dusk Thank you! I got him second hand in the market place but it looks like its the basic type C face up. I will keep you all updated when I take more photos of him.

    11. @lessyface thank you! If you've been through the wigmaking thread chances are you know what Mike's wig is  My favourite materials ever are suri alpaca fiber and liquid latex for glue, you can get pretty much any style wig done with that. I find short styles pretty hard, but that might just be me. (You can see Mike's still looks "choppy" even after tons of trimming and styling.)
The Toms tutorial is the one that got me into shoe making. Most stuff that doesn't have tons of details is doable, and it saves so much (money, time, and nerves) if you're able to make something that fits odd-sized resin feet!

      @IngieBee right? ;)

      @gaurweth wow, he's gorgeous! Congrats!

Also WHEEE shipping notice! Heather (Rachel) is on her way home!

    12. Is anyone else having trouble with Iplehouse's website right now? My "my Iple" page doesn't want to load all of the way. I can see my personal info, but not my current order status and order history?:? I've tried in different browsers (as well as my phone) and the same thing happens. Just curious if anyone else is experiencing this?

Also some spam for good measure.:wiggle

    13. @Poptart Thats normal :) Just keep the tab open, it needs about a minute (I timed it) to load the rest, and if you open other tabs from the iple website, it wont load until the "my page" finishes loading.

I realllllly love your Cullen! I hope to see more of him, he looks amazing, had fun looking through your flick :))

@Jany congratulations, Im sure the wait will be worth the wait and Im really excited to see one finally on DOA :D

@Dusk is that Crow in your avatar? Hes amazing, I never see anyone posting him around, I love his nose shape profile

    14. Took Bichun out for a quick photo after work before the sun went down. I cannot wait for a day off so I can just go crazy with photos. I have an idea for him but I want to see how he is with the Faline I got before I make a story based off that. I cannot get over how wonderful he is <3

    15. @Poptart adorable couple, is your Rex's hair made by you? It's awesome!

Another great picture @gaurweth! He is really beautiful!

    16. Thank you @GreenTeaSlug! It's always been slow for me, but now it takes like three minutes to completely load . . .apparently.:sigh And I'm glad you had fun looking at Cullen, he's one ofmy favorites who definitely deserves more camera time than I find myself giving him.

Thank you @IngieBee! It was actually my sister who made the wig.;)

    17. Could anyone who has an nYID girl body please measure the length of the arm from the top of the shoulder to the wrist for me? The official measurement says the nYID girl has 23 cm arms while the SID has 20 cm and the EID 20.2 cm. Looking at their comparison photos it's hard to believe the nYID girl really has arms 3 cm longer than either the SID or EID.

I'm trying to determine if a particular outfit I have could fit on a nYID and 23 cm arms would be a problem.

Perhaps the 23 cm includes the hands on the nYID and the others are to wrists?

ETA: Actually the length from wrist to wrist if the arms are held straight out to the sides (like a T pose) would be very helpful as well. (I'm checking a kimono fit.)

    18. Wish MY sister would make gorgeous things!!! LOL (green with jealousy!) @Poptart

Yah, I find measurements are often inaccurate everywhere, it drives me nuts! Sorry I don't have a YID :( @scripple

    19. @scripple shoulder to wrist is 20, wrist to wrist in T pose is 45ish. (Looks like those 23cm did indeed include the hand ...)

    20. Any time! (Also, who's the lucky lady? So to speak :XD:)

    21. Classic style for a kimono, Asa - Tokyo Story.

    22. I love Asa <3 She has been on my wishlist for a very long time. All of these photos are great <3

    23. I'll second the request for photos!

    24. This will be my first iplehouse doll so I can't help with photos for several months I'd guess.

    25. That is okay! It took me 9 years before I could help with photos to be fair haha.

    26. My dude's clothes/temp shoes finally came in! More importantly, his eyes arrived--and wow, are they great. Please ignore the wig; this was my first attempt at styling mohair and it....didn't go well, lol. He has a proper Leekeworld wig that fits great and looks great after a bit of dyeing, but whenever I put it on him he flops over, so....

    27. WOW! Did you do the faceup @lessyface? He looks amazing! Love his ears!! And yes, those eyes are awesome!

    28. Is it bad that I really want to get a second Bichun with a different resin color? I love this one so much. I think I have settled on a name for him.

    29. @IngieBee I wish! The person I bought him from said it was a custom IH faceup. I love the black around the eyes--looks appropriately ominous! There's that subtle gold, too. I commissioned some horns for him in those colors, so the faceup will probably stick around for a while, though I usually like doing my own.

Thank you, @gaurweth ! This is my first doll in a while so I am pretty excited about it!

    30. No @gaurweth, you most certainly need another! LOL. And I may need a big 'un to go with my (future) small 'un :D What a beautiful picture! What a beautiful place!

      @lessyface oh cool! I certainly think it's worth keeping :D It's awesome, he's awesome!

    31. Guys, cross fingers for me to make it to the customs office tomorrow before they close ... my Rachel is there, but the mail messed up yet again and left a note telling me to pick up the actual customs notification at the nearest office (10km away, opposite direction to where the customs office is) so I'll be cutting it extremely fine - but there's a meetup on Saturday and I kinda sorta want to bring her, even if she's blank and nude. :sweat And I want to spam you guys with box opening pics after all the help I got on here, too <3

      • x 1
    32. @Jany, that's awesome!!! fingers crossed that traffic and lines/queues will be kind to you!!!!

    33. Good luck @Jany. Frustrating when they're so close yet still out of reach.

    34. She's hoooome! This time the central office worked really fast, but the local one has lots of new folk and the one who knows dolly immigration by heart isn't working front desk any more so that took ages. But I got her and all is well, even if those people are getting more and more unfriendly ... good thing I've got all my "mains" home now. :3nodding:
I snapped some pics for a box opening, I hope I'll have time to upload it all later.

    35. Huuge congrats, dear! :dance Hope to see the beauty soooon :celebrate

    36. So awesome @Jany , looking forward to the pictures!!!

    37. Thank you, @Airike and @IngieBee! <3

Most of the BO pics came out much too dark ... but have a sneak preview anyway ;)

She came with grey eyes! I've never had grey eyes in a doll before. I kind of like them. I'd imagine too dark ones would look weird with her small eyes. These are definitely on the large side so I might swap them out or smaller ones, once I get around to making more (and once I figure out her colour scheme).
Also, strictly no bangs for this lady. She's the first one to try on the Magical Wig That Suits Everyone and be the exception to the rule, it looked ridiculous on her

      • x 2
    38. Oh man, what a pretty face! Love that jawline. She looks beautiful; can't wait to see what you do with her.

    39. She's gorgeous, @Jany! Yes, I personally like smaller irises :D Funny about the wig :D

    40. Oh my goodness she is so pretty! Congrats @Jany

    41. @lessyface me too! So much personality, even blank. I have a long history of being slightly underwhelmed when a doll actually arrives (until I do their faceup, that is) - not with this gal. She's perfect. ^^

@IngieBee IKR?? We'll see what happens. She nicked a black alpaca wig that's much too big for her right now, but it has no bangs and looks so much better.

@gaurweth thank you! Rachel is a super underrated sculpt apparently, there only seem to be four or five floating around on the interwebz ...

    42. @Jany - yeah! Congratulations and thanks for sharing.

I went for 10mm Glib glass oval eyes....hmmm, will see if I can work out what else I tried. Oh and she took a 7/8 Monique wig...but you're right about a fringe/bangs not working so well. Enjoy her!

    43. @Jany There needs to be more Rachel heehee and more pictures!

    44. Still blank as I got back super late from a family gathering (should have been a three-hour drive max, motorway had other plans), but I did play with the resins a bit and boy does this lady have attitude :nowords:

"You talking to me? Can't you see I'm unfinished? Get out of my blank face and wait. your. turn."
(And Mike's like "whoa there lady, cool it")

      • x 1
    45. LOL, I totally see that as well!!! @Jany! I bet you thought she would be demure, eh. Dolls, I tell ya!

    46. OK, that new HID Baron is up and he is drool worthy! The heads are interchangeable with EID, no? Or being limited edition, does that make it so you have to get the Herculean body?

    47. You can probably get him on the EID too, through Doll Choice.
Is the HID that much bigger than the EID? (EID guys are already too big for my crew so I'm pretty clueless when it comes to them. :sweat)
I spy with my little eye some family resemblance to Rex ...

as for Heather, I chose Rachel for her because I was hoping she'd be able to out-diva my Stella. Looks like that worked :XD: She can probably pull off a more demure character too, considering her second default faceup option, but this one is feisty and rightfully so.
I want to paint her SO BAD. Hopefully after work ...

      • x 2
    48. I thought about Baron's resemblance to Rex... but wondered if it was the facial hair? He's definitely yummy. Love the outfit. Are they going to start a whole line of Greek/Roman Gods? I hope so. Those bodies need to just be in short kilts and bits of leather!

(anyone a Captive Prince fan? I was getting Damianos vibes from the outfit and muscles and dark skin)

I'd be tempted if I didn't already have Rex! (And if I didn't think that EID was already too large for me.) I'm wondering if I can get him a similar outfit??? :XD:

    49. You know, I can't get one anyway, so It doesn't matter, I won't have to choose any time soon, LOL. @Jany I think Heather will hold her own for sure! so cool you can do your own faceups! I wish I could do a better job. I just did two heads last week but since I don't have eyelashes, nor bodies yet for one, I haven't finished them up yet. Frankly, one of them also needs a wig too.... I need to take more pictures of my Grace soon though, she's been so neglected! And she has such pretty outfits, and hasn't even tried them on yet! Ugh!

I'm not sure if the size is such a problem for me via handling, but the space I have... it's definitely geting tight around here :D Yet, I need more boys!

    50. x-posted to my Project Journal for all my main story dolls and the Iple Rachel photo request thread I started before ordering her - semi-decent artificial light pic of Heather's faceup that doesn't really do her justice, but I did warn you guys I'd spam her like crazy so here goes :whee:

      • x 4
    51. She definitely looks like a powerhouse @Jany! Good job!

Say, does anyone know who makes Iplehouse's wigs? I would like to get the braided bun in size 7-8 but they don't offer it that small. I'd love to find one that size though!

    52. [IMG]IMG_2635 by ManabuLi010, on Flickr

Danya and his younger sister Annika. They are both humanoid beings with Ukrainian names. There's just something about them that look a bit alien to me. And since I had a lot of problems with finding Danya a body that weren't too big and buff, he ended up with a body that's very small and skinny in comparison to an YID and SID male body. The head and body proportions look a bit off for a human character but works fine for a humanoid alien like character.

His sister who is a JID have normal human like proportions, but she too will eventually as she grows older get that same slimmer body type.

      • x 7
    53. @manabusama they're so adorable together! I like how tall and thin looking he is. It's a lot like young boys who have a growth spurt and can't put on weight because they're growing so fast :) But being aliens is fun too!

    54. Yesterday while I changed his clothes I took some time to stand him up just in his underwear to have a look at his head and body proportions. I think he looks alright, but he's so thin in comparison to my YID Lucian. So immagine how he'll look in comparison to an EID or a HID :sweat That's why I decided to make both him and my JID Sierra (Annika) into some kind of alien humanoid species. And since they both have similar eyes, nose and mouth they look like they're from the same species.

I'm not super into cosmology, astronomy and UFOlogy but I find it a bit interesting. I remember when I were in elementary school. We were at the library. I found a book about alien races and started reading. I do believe that we are probably not alone in this universe, and that there might even be multiverses. But without solid proof I don't claim anything to be true. So I believe that the so called alien species that we find online are made up. Still interesting though. There's a race that I really love that's called "The Nordics". I thought of Danya and Annika kind of like them.
