Iplehouse Discussion ( YID, nYID, SID, EID ) Part 04

Mar 28, 2015

    1. Here's a picture of Bucky and Norah, bonding. Wasn't the quickest shoot, took more time making sure his arm would stay put so he could hold her!

    2. Wow! She's amazing! I'd never guess she is a Harace...what a glorious faceup!
      I love her!!!:D

    3. lol np... I have a folder for 'doll shopping links' lol... But that particular link is in my 'doll plans for 2015' list ;p I don't actually have any stands yet... need them though..

    4. I have a crap ton of folders in my favorites/bookmarks.... I have so many that I've made multiple folders because I forgot I had some already and they are all disorganized. lol. Plus then I have folders for patterns/historical outfit pics and tv shows and workouts etc. I think I have over 400 bookmarks possibly O.o

    5. animerockstar: Thanks! Yeah I kept my girls in their boxes while I was at school but now I'm home I want to have an option to put them out that isn't just sitting in the corner like my usual XP
I;m like I should probably have something slightly more legitimate haha ;P

Pinkbear: How cute! They look great together. And I feel your pain! The only thing I don't like about my girl is how she has no elbow joint. My former fairyland doll spoiled me on that lol

luluna: Thank you so much!! I wish the picture I posted showed her freckles better. Definitely gonna get a better picture tomorrow

Lady Tiku: Haha I know my girl just kinda sits wherever I have space for her right now @_@ I need to get a stand so I can set her up someplace.

    6. only my nYID girls and smaller dolls can stand where I keep mine, So Luna (EID) and all my big guys have to sit. But I have a great bench that holds 4 big guys ... and enough room left that with some kind of box/seat a 5th could fit.... does this mean I need another EIDm O_o... >< nonono! not until A SIDw or SID Yur come home demit! >< Only Edwin or a BID has a shot of beating another EIDm lol... I need stands for 'photo shoots mostly. It's a good thing my girls have big skirts to hide how I get them to stand some times lol.

    7. The new face up for Crow has been realised!

    8. Thank you, dear
Hopefully I will have more time now, so I can take pictures of him more often. ;-)
Hehe, he doesn't mind being called a cutie (like a certain other lad from my gang  )

Wittyilynamed, wow your Harace looks angelic! :aheartbea And I would have never guessed her sculpt, she looks so different from other Haraces. Faceup can really do wonders in differentiating the same dolls :-)

PinkBear, such a lovely picture! :aheartbea Please spam your Andrew more often! We don't see the nYID boys often and what a shame it is! Besides, Andrew is on my list of possible candidates for my second nYID boy so I need to see him more ;-)

      [/QUOTE]

    9. I really love the D Type faceup, he really has that come and get it look to him.....( that did not sound right)

    10. The Marien I'm waiting for is in the Danish customs right now. :kitty1 The order will be delivered to a friend, I order together with, but I can pick her up July 5th. :D
I feel like such a fool, I forgot to order shoes for her. And eyes. I still need to place an order from Dollshe, whenever I can afford that. Otherwise she'll have clothes, wig and she comes with a face-up. I'm so excited!

    11. ResinRapture: Thank you!

Airike: I know AngelToast did a great job. She's like a whole new person ;P

*Christie*: Those eyebrows look so much better. I love a thick brow on anyone but those were a little crazy in the original faceup haha

Akatsuki: Oh thats so exciting! After seeing owner pics of Marien I've come to like her sculpt much more than I did originally. She's beautiful! Did you get any of her outfits? I'm still disappointed I couldn't get her naval outfit. So cool!!

    12. Wittilynamed your Harace is just beautiful. I love my girl for her versatility, but wow. Just wow she's perfect

    13. His outfit, though -_- Going to look for a split now

    14. Thanks! :) I hope she'll turn out as I imagined.
The outfits are included in the order, but they're going to a friend of mine.

    15. My Rebecca came back from the faceup artist last week! Here she is with her new face:

    16. Just finished the face-up of my Cheyenne (Lahela LB) yesterday...

    17. So many pretties in here. I feel like a kid in a sweet shop sometimes when I pop into this thread :love

    18. rootedinvanity Sierra looks so glamorous! Is that a new wig too?

Pathy Cheyenne is beautiful! She looks very "real" to me!

    19. It's an old one. She just switches back and forth between wigs a lot, haha!

    20. rootedinvanity - What an absolutely lovely face-up! She's really stunning :D

Pathy - She's is gorgeous! The face-up looks so great compared to her skin tone. :D I love, love, love the Lahela sculpt!

    21. That's a beautiful face-up, Pathy :)

    22. rootedinvanity: Wow look at those lips! She's beautiful :D

Pathy: Gosh Lahela is suck a lovely sculpt! Love your girls eyes.

Ishtar: So true! So many pretty, pretty shinies. *_*

    23. Thanks very much! Marison did such an amazing job on her. :aheartbea

    24. Mine is currently in transit - so excited. It looks brilliant on your girl. I never realised Feeple F65s were the same size as SIDs. I'm wondering how well it is going to fit my Carina. I'm also cursing myself for selling my LE Bibiane outfit because it was out of character for,my other girls, who were all modern. Now all my girls are in Disney inspired outfits or period costume :doh

    25. I had imagined the dress would lace up the back, like so many of their period outfits, but there is a zipper instead. So I wouldn't worry about Carina, if I were you. The main fabric in the dress is stretchy, the darker blue isn't. But there is just enough stretch to make it fit both EID and SID.

My rule of thumb: Never part with clothes. You just never know.

    26. Mine is out for delivery this morning too. I am looking forward to it even more now having seen it on your lovely girl, VC. Thank you for sharing the photo.

    27. I look forward to seeing how the Aqua Dress looks on EID and SID girls. Waiting for photos, Ishtar and EmeraldPixie!

    28. Mine's here and I've got it on my Marien and it's gorgeous but I have to wait until later to get some natural light shots.

    29. I got mine and I must say....this is a gorgeous dress!

    30. luluna so is the lady wearing it!<3

    31. LOL! Well if I could fit in it...I would be wearing it for sure! LOLOLOL!

      Here's one more..

    32. Ooooh, I'm loving all this Spam. How fantastic this looks. I can't wait but sadly it will be at least a week until I see this. Just hope customs doesn't pounce.

    33. >< I'm gonna have to have that dress lol... (it sort of reminds me of one made for me but it was a bit more of a medieval overdress... and pink ;p) do any of you have the blue shoes too? how do the colors go together?...

    34. And here it is on an EID body.

    35. However, my SID Marien has claimed it.

    36. That medieval-style dress is gorgeous on EVERYONE!!! <3

I'm gnashing my teeth a little bit -- I wanted to get several of the new outfits, but I was waiting for Black Diamond to be in stock.

It came back into stock today (FYI for anyone wanting it!), but now the Graceful Black dress and the Aqua Blue dress are both sold out. *facepalm*

Still hoping I find a way to get into a split for Crow's outfit, but it seems like everyone else has the same idea. Can't afford to do a CDS order right now . . . wah!!

      -- A <3

    37. It's official--the Aqua Dress looks fabulous on every body!

So, did anyone get their doll's hands caught in between the lower sleeve and its lining? I took my Feeple's magnetic hands off to dress her (what a godsend magnetic hands are!) and her stumps still got caught. It's such a small opening from the upper sleeve into the lower sleeve. I can't imagine having to navigate delicate fingers through it.

Lady Tiku, I got the blue shoes with with the dress. As Stacy London would say on What Not to Wear, the color doesn't have to match so long as it goes. And it goes very well.

    38. In cases like this, I usually run a stringing tool through the sleeve (starting at the wrist), pull the hand away from the arm, grab the elastic with the stringing tool, take off the hand, and then guide the arm through with the tool.

A lot of my Iples have claw-hands, so they're especially prone to snagging fingers in sleeves -- so, this works really well as an alternative to struggling and maybe breaking a finger or ripping an outfit :)

      -- A <3

    39. It was a little tricky to navigate the sleeves but nothing too bad.

    40. You did note I didn't bother asking if the 'matched' LOL could see that much... but YAY for 'goes with' ... this makes the shoe-aholic in me very happy... any 'good' reason to buy shoes is a done deal lol.

I have another trick.... find a button that is about the same size as the arm hole (but bit bigger)... make sure it's a 'shank' button... then hook the elastic onto the shank placeholder for hand.

    41. The shoes look wonderful with the dress.

    42. oh my... that's actually quite gorgerous and I might have to have the new feet and ask for a blush pink toenails LOL (extremely pale mind you XD ) I'm still debating if I should try to get the jewels off the shoes (my white pair)... anyone tried this? can it work? or does it wreck the shoe?

    43. Wow the aqua dress is gorgeous! Love those shoes, been debating getting them in a different color for awhile.

Lady Tiku: Hm yeah I wonder if you could. I'm assuming they're glued, so maybe blast it with a hair dryer for awhile to loosen them? Don't know if it would leave ugly glue behind though. Wish I could experiment with them without spending the money lol

    44. lol ya I know eh? BUT... I actually asked about it on the Q/A board :XD:I have one pair when I find the right size 'eyelet' I am going to "fix" them lol... they don't work well as is (they fall off too easy). So I have an excuse to 'wreck' them since they are not much good anyhow... THESE will have the ribbon removed and replaced with a different color and an eyelet in the sides of the heel part will let me 'tie' the shoe on.... at least that's the plan ^^ yup :)

but about the glue... I think I saw a really old hair dryer not long ago lol ... I don't use them... not for decadeS note several... lol

      EDIT: GROMMET not eyelet ><

    45. They're glued on. I'm not sure there's an easy way to remove them without leaving a dark residue spot where the glue was previously. But there might be some products out there for removing sticky residue from fabric. I eventually want to get a pair of black ones and violet ones but I'm going to get the flower version. The flower is easier to remove than the gemstones

    46. ah yes smaller surface area... have you tried this? and 'goo be gone'? not sure what it would do to fabric though... I also wouldn't mind covering it with something more 'subtle' then what they use.

    47. Yeah usually I use Goo Gone or even WD40 is amazing... If you can mask/air out the smell afterwards. But staining or leaving it dark is what I'd be afraid of. Yeah I actually removed the flower .... On accident. I didn't completely remove it but it was loose (probably to begin with) so I re-hot glued it. I plan to put like a small bow or pretty rhinestones on mine. I'll probably get a pair of black to experiment with

    48. I should see if I can find a 'bridal type shop' and ask about glue and 'satin' type shoes... they 'custom' stuff for bridal parties... I'm sure they might have had 'issues' lol... now the trick is to talk Dad into going where I can get at one lol.

And don't forget to share 'your' results.

    49. In case they won't blush and paint the feet, I have a tutorial on my DA on how to paint nails, done specifically on nYIDG feet. I've blushed both my big girls heeled feet and painted the toenails, Lacie's the light pink in the tutorial and Ember's a dark pink/red.

    50. You guys remind me that I still need to get my small parts order on the way (a replacement knee peanut and a bunch of hands). Then again, our postal service is on strike and I have an incoming doll stuck in the middle of it, so I'm kinda losing my cool here and I'm in no hurry at all to add another package to this mess *_*

Everyone's Aqua dresses and dolls wearing them are gorgeous! :D

    51. I love, LOVE the aqua dress, and am determined to get one for a Limhwa EOSdoll hybrid girl. She can weard EID/SID clothes, so it should work for her. Iplehouse's inconsistent clothes stocking is frustrating, isn't it? Just when one thing you're waiting for becomes available, the other thing you planned to order goes out of stock!

    52. The Rose Quartz set has been released! :dance

    53. Let me know how your experiment works. I have the same shoes and they're just plain too big. Move the doll and they fall off. I tried making felt insoles but they were too thin to work well. Maybe a second layer on top of the first...

@EmeraldPixie My heart leaped when I saw the Rose Quartz dress, but I think it was from sticker shock. It may be gorgeous, but I don't spend $173 on dresses for me, let alone for dolls!:ablink:

    54. Well we can't get grommets from IH (dang it). But they did say the shoe decorations are put on with a 'glue gun' which at least rules out any 'freaky unknown glues ;p... The hard part for me is sourcing out the tiny grommets since I can't just 'go out and shop'.. and I don't trust getting what I 'need' via online (don't want to risk spending and getting stuff I can't use ><).

And didn't you see the price of the dress when it was listed on Merian's page? LOL They don't change the prices they list there.... they only ever upped the price of the Gardenia dress and that had to do with an increase in cost to them.

    55. I had a quick look at tiny grommets online and find several places where you can buy 1/16 inch, 3/32 inch and 1/8 inch grommets for dolls and miniature making. The sites seem to use the terms eyelet and grommet interchangeably. They're relatively inexpensive, so you wouldn't be making a costly mistake by buying some. And if you can't use them, someone who makes doll corsets would probably take them off your hands.

Didn't look at the prices of things on Merian's page because I had no intention of buying her. I didn't want to choke on my drool. :drool

    56. Unrelated to the discussion but I finally got around to giving Josh is tattoo! It's actually a spell mark but I'm really happy with it and also glossed his scar!

    57. I hear ya! I'm afraid to say I'm frequently guilty of spending more on shoes and clothes for these demanding divas than I would on my own. :blush

    58. LOL and I may get back to you on the grommet thing... (may want the sites you found... and I've not seen them listed that small ... or they may have been metric and I was clueless lol. as for eyelets.... what I had learned was that those were the plastic bits on the end of shoe laces... I remember being surprise that it never occurred to me they even 'had' a name lol.

God i love staring at Josh :love I seriously doubt there is an Edan out there that I wouldn't love... unless they 'maimed' his gorgeous face totally... (I'm even willing to accept minor boo boo's lol). Your Josh reminds me (generally speaking) of all my 80's crushes on classmates... he just has that look I went for in Jr./Sr. High lol... next to the bad boys of course... ;) And Josh hints at them enough too lol.... keep up the pretty spam ^^.
