I’m joining the over budget team with my second hand lahela. Worth it, honestly, but not a good idea. Neither is all the money I’ve spent on dolls OT to this thread. I think I’m cut off until October, at least.

 

I have made a couple of ProArtist badges, and someone on instagram came up with the idea to make doll sized pins from them. I didn't have a pin, but I had a setting - and now Leander has a new pendant

Congrats @Frillseeker and @Chameleon I do hope @Revvy isn't the only one who will end up getting an Ada, she is so darn cool! I want to see lots of pictures of her. Owner pictures are always the most interesting!

@Kaname Kimura - I hope so too! Though I don't mind waiting a bit. I have another doll that's shipping to me at the moment who will keep me occupied. That, and I need to figure out what to buy the new guy. Or rather, where to source most of the stuff so I don't have to keep track of multiple parcels.

Is there anyone here who can kindly do a quick resin colour comparison between Iple's Peach Gold and Fairyland's Normal skintones please? I'm really tempted to order Harace before the end of September but I know I'm not too keen on Normal and I'm not sure what to expect of PG, so I'm trying to find comparison pics with resins that I have to hand so I can imagine it better.
Also, is there a big difference between the PG normal and PG glow resin. I'd imagine it's more noticeable on the hands and thinner areas of resin?

I am interested in Harace, too. This may not help, but check out the FID version where they used white. The face up is really dramatic. I wish I could show comparisons for you. Harace also comes in the larger head. HID, EID and SID heads are all 21 cm (I checked), so on a choice doll bodies and heads are compatible. Can't wait to see her.

And on an artistic note, Asa modeling her new stole.

 

Yes, they are different @Zaliayn, though I really don't think it'd be hard to match a FL head to the IH body as long as you don't have a faceup on the head yet.

Body, Iplehouse FID Peach Gold, hand is FL65

Personally, I really like peach/gold but some people think it's too pink, but I don't see that really?? I love her color.

@Frillseeker I love that splash of color, and those pom poms are awesome!

Bliss is peach gold and roke is FL normal skin.



And yes, PG normal is more of a matted look, while Glow PG is more translucent.

I was tempted to buy mini Harace when she was released, but I think my heart really lies with 1/3 scale dolls (although I may end up with a future FID anyway lol). Is Harace in her FID photos in glow resin then? She looks beautiful, even ethereal
I've wanted to get Harace ever since her Carved Heritage release, but other dolls kept getting in the way lol I just love her gentle expression
Your Asa looks great by the way (another beautiful sculpt!), I love the colours in her outfit!

Thank you for doing that, it's really useful even if it was done quickly It's the 'too pink' thing that has me unsure; I guess I'm worried she'll look sunburnt lol Then again I feel like the Normal resin has quite a yellow hue to it that I'm not keen on, so perhaps I'll like PG more than I think.

Thank you as well for the comparison photo! (I love the kimono Bliss is wearing btw!) The PG looks quite vibrant - not sure if that's the word I'm looking for lol - next to the FL normal. I'm still undecided on it but Harace really does look amazing in the PG glow! I like the soft sort of effect it has, it looks really lifelike to me; I think I definitely want to go with a glow resin for my girl whatever the colour!


Still making up my mind, but everyone's input has helped a fair bit, so thank you everyone!
One more question though - would PG work okay with a red-headed girl?

I am getting Harace in white resin with makeup from one of the special versions. I wrote it down, it’s late, I forget - but it is a dramatic treatment. Thanks for the compliment on Asa, btw.

As for if she will look good with red hair and pg skin, it’s an old artist’s truth that you have to see it together before you decide. If the wig and her skin have similar tones, it will work.

 

She is beautiful! My Pamelas are regular peach gold and yes it's a little pink but I love how it photographs whereas I struggle with photographing NS. I also figure the mellowing over time will leave a nice tone. I'd definitely buy another PG girl.
